Should I bring ''Nigeria'' along to this time-wasting and traffic gridlock causing annual congress? Because Nigeria sure needs the complete restoration!
African names are beautiful. I would worry more about why Africans have not started doing away with names of Jewish, Latin, Arabic, European e.t.c origin.
winkmart: T I have not gotten home to decide his fate. I might kill him. I don't also know if to tell his dad, though he has returned the cash claiming he didn't know it would transfer.
I am kind of disturbed because am thinking to cut him out of my life for life.
lalasticlala
Do not cut him out of your life. The young man needs your guidance but you need to give him a stern warning, if possible add the possibility of him ending up in kirikiri next time. No jokes! Also shaming is allowed, that's the more reason you have to tell his dad in the boy's presence!
LambanoPeace: Why don't you listen to Islamic songs and ask for interpretations?
Islamic songs are a mixture of Arabic and the local language of that areae.g Yoruba. These are internationally confirmed and verified languages that people actually speak not babbling. There are TV stations in this World that use these languages to communicate, I can not say likewise for tongue speaking.
However, I have a problem. At 4:32 she spoke some words which I don't understand: "bo shadada vandasanda". After singing some more, at 4:52, she sang these words "o rerererebo shande yama zeke allelu," which I don't understand either. When I asked for the translation, I was told she was speaking in tongues which, fortunately, can be interpreted by those who have the gift of interpretation.
I hereby call upon Nairalanders with the gift of interpretation of tongues to interpret those words for us so we can fully appreciate the song.
shamecurls: At page 5 and No on yet can interpret the bolded Everyone just quoting bible verses instead of answering the question.
What is the meaning? #Simple
About 6 pages and 18 days later, still no translation Where are my brothers in Christ Embassy? joagbaje, petra1 your help is needed. I am sure you are close to Sinach as a CE pastor. Biko just translation, anything other than quoting verses upandan for me is allowed even cooked up translation I will accept. Let's kill the thread the shame is too much, biko.
Seun: Electrical technicians climb electric power lines all the time without electrocution. The key is to have the power switched off before climbing it.
Even without switching off the power you still stand the chance of not being electrocuted. The key point here is not being a conduit for current to pass through you. It takes about 0.2 amps of current to kill a man. Touching one wire at a time without standing on the ground or holding another conductor keeps you in the safe zone . The moment you touch a second wire or another metallic conductor while holding to the first one, you have created chance for current to pass through you and you get fried/roasted/electrocuted. That is why birds especially smaller ones can fly and land on a power line without getting electrocuted, a bigger bird is likely to get electrocuted as its size can make it to touch two wires at once.
SirWere: The rest of them are just ranting up and down. ..
GBAM! It's basically what I noticed. A thread has been opened by a mature theist to address the main issue but it has not gathered much viewership. Here's one of my comments on that thread:
GeneralTee: I saw something about his reporting a brother died of fasting in 2010 and no one in FUTA being able to corroborate the story. And in one fell swoop his whole story is false.
OK. I'm relaying a story, reeling out lots of info and in an unorganized way, I very well can miss some details or relay a few from inadequate memory. It doesn't make my story untrue.
You guys will do a little more to prove he's a fraud that just little information slip. I really don't have the time to look up other lies. Pls paste the links here.
Don't lose sleep over those threads. The phrases I have ''bolded'' pretty sums up what all the noise is all about and leads nowhere than bunch of people throwing emotions everywhere. The underlying question(s)/points as posed/raised in this thread still remain unanswered and you can not wish them away over some information slip or fabricated lie by HardMirror [s]depending on which side of the divide one is[/s]. Here's some of such questions/points :
The man who gave us Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, is a raving atheist. But all of us religious people use his invention to promote our views. In my first interview with Edmund Obilo, he confessed on live Radio that he cannot remember when last he was in church. There is no better broadcaster than him in Ibadan. I remember approaching some senior citizens to invite them to attend my fellowship. They told me that religion sets people back. It deters their thinking. It doesn’t promote intellectualism. I just sat there watching.
You cannot sell signs, wonders and miracles to 21st century thinkers – it is just simply out of date. And my findings shows that even the God of the Bible has outdated miracles. Instead he has blessed man with such resounding knowledge that if my generation will spend less time at Redeem Camp and other prayer camps, we will find the cure to AIDS, Cancer and other debilitating diseases of our time. While at the same time adding to the science revolution and increase our nation’s gross productivity. Thereby creating jobs and wealth for the people. This is the type of work the gospel encourages; work that produces better feeding! He that will not work cannot eat!! Let us wake up. The atheists are challenging us.
I am not promoting atheism here. I am simply saying that Pentecostalism and many other religion that thrive on the subjective are adding nothing to science and modern thinkers have no time for such nonsense. I am also saying that the true Christian faith is highly intellectual. It appeals to the mind as it convinces the sinner of a need for a Savior.
Much emphasis on this particular phrase of yours : ''You cannot sell signs, wonders and miracles to 21st century thinkers – it is just simply out of date''.
bbfever: We are done here. Mr Culprit have a good night while it remains good.
Your Uncle says you are in Pensylvannia but it's about 3:40p.m in Pensylvannia and should not yet be night over there instead late afternoon. Are you by chance spending the weekend in Nigeria, maybe that's why you are saying good night!
damogul: FYI bbfever is my 17 yr old Niece and i can see she kept you busy and schooled you quite a bit as instructed.
Your 17 yr old Niece must be one hell of a business girl at age 13 (check attached pic 1) and she started receiving way too much bans for her age (check attached pic 2). By age 14 she get's stronger with the estate management hustle (check attached pic3). Your niece must be a hell of businesswoman/girl! I troway salute for this your niece!
hahn: I really cannot stand the lies. My life has improved since I threw religion and God into the trash
The next time I am in a church, I promise I am going to dip my hands inside the offering basket and take my share. ANd if they ask, I will say the spirit led me
And I will be among those church members that will beat you up and put tire round your neck for trying to steal our pastor's money offering.
victorazy: Don't rule all out. If DNA can be traced through a drop of blood, then a whole lots of things can happen. This is beyond human comprehension. All I know is that blood is thicker than water.
The above is self contradictory! You tell me not to rule all out (which I have never done going by my comments here)and then you go ahead to do the same thing you are advising with this ''copping out'' statement of yours that it is beyond human comprehension.
justmenoni: Then Op is High cos scientifically that's impossible, i mean he can get diseases from the blood but it can't affect his ACT,unless they have reset or changed his brain cos i'm certain that most part of our actions is been determined by our brain, religiously it can be possible but that i can't provide any points..
At the phrase in bold, if you can not provide any points (or empirical proof) then you should/can not make such bold claim.
pembisco: You are right. Just that you only the mentioned blood cells and their functions. Blood also constitute plasma proteins, enzymes, electrolytes , but I'm not sure if that could lead to such changes due to transfusion as the op claimed. This is interesting indeed
Yeah I mentioned only blood cells and not the plasma part because I was responding to this particular post below:
goldfish80: But it could be more than what you think. There are cells present in the blood, the question is if these cells convey character traits which could be transferable?
justmenoni: I doubt if there is any scientific evidence that supports this idea
Op, is talking about spiritual evidence and not scientific
You sure? here's the OP's post!
goldfish80: This past week, I went to see a friend who had about 7 separate blood transfusions within the 2 months he spent at the hospital due to severe loss of blood. In our discussion which spanned about 2hrs, he told me he feels like he has about 7 multiple people living inside of him since the series of blood transfusions.
Knowing him as a moderate Christian, I couldn't exactly comprehend how possible this could be and I tried arguing with him how impossible it sounds and from the scientific point of view, but he stood his ground and pointed to me how much he has changed which scares him. He mentioned some character changes he noticed since the blood transfusions which he suspects could be picked up from the blood donors were smoking ( a habit he detests with passion, but suddenly developed a compelling urge to smoke since the transfusions), using swear words and gutter languages which he would never use before, suddenly developed interest in Man utd and the premiership. These and about 4 other character traits he mentioned.
I decided to create a thread to seek opinions from the scientific and religious view point. could character traits be picked up from blood donors? I know Jehova witness doctrine forbids blood transfusion, could this be their reason?
I would like to hear the experience of those who have been recipient of blood through IVR. All opinions are welcomed.
OKorowanta: If they are not associating black with the devil, Then it's for cheap things. Black weekend,he got a black eye from the beating, black Monday in maiduguri, black heart etc. No wonder bobrisky ported.
1. Black Card is an American Express Card exclusively for wealthy people! It doesn't come cheap!
goldfish80: This was one of the points I raised while talking to him. Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Nicolas Tesla would have had their blood stored in a blood bank which would be transferred to another scientist. But it could be more than what you think. There are cells present in the blood, the question is if these cells convey character traits which could be transferable?
Different parts (cortex, hypothalamus e.t.c) of the brain control human behaviour not blood cells. The red blood cells carry oxygen, the white cells fight infections and the platelets are responsible for the clotting of blood. These cells have nothing to do with supporting Man utd or using swear words. If anyone has a counter point on the above, he/she should present for us to learn a thing or two.
