Please can we get past all this talk.......I hardly hear people talk about solutions, the future and how to move this country forward. Please lets leave the past buried and lets discuss issues that would unite us, and make life better for us and generations to come.

All this blame trading and insults will only breed anger/bitterness and further drive us apart.

ITS HIGH TIME WE LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE.......LETS DISCUSS SOLUTIONS

PoliticsRe: Nigerians Being Scorned And Mocked In Malawi by khalids: 11:03pm On Sep 28, 2012
I don't really think Nigeria is worse than any other African country in terms of crime and all manners of social ills. I think the only reason it looks like we are worse is because we have such a large population and as a result we seem to pop up everywhere.

If statistics is taken we would probably find out that most of these countries that are making so much noise about Nigeria probably have a higher percentage of their citizens involved in one crime or social ill.

Lets look at it 1% of 1million people will probably go unnoticed, but 1% of 150million will definitely ring out alarms.

Its just the price we have to pay for having a large and adventurous population.

Fixing our country and making it the number one African destination will shut all these haters up. I THINK THAT WILL BE THE WAY TO GO

Christianity EtcRe: Nigerian Churches: Who Are They Building Universities For? by khalids: 3:01pm On Sep 26, 2012
Na wa for all this argument.......It shows that people do not read their bibles at all, too many spiritually weak people. Too many church goers and bench warmers.

Okay. Lets just take an example, the bible says that there will be false prophets among the the people who call themselves men of God.
Currently we have so many men of God in Nigeria, and there is a possibility that there are false prophets among them.....DO NIGERIANS KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY THEM....

The bible says by their fruits we shall know them......WHAT KIND OF FRUITS ARE THE MEN OF GOD IN NIGERIA BEARING..are they in line with the dictates of the bible.

My advise is simple, let your bible guide and the Holy spirit guide you and it will not be difficult for you to identify the wolf among the sheep

I wonder sometimes, we have so many churches and so many powerful men of God, but yet so much wickedness in the land. It almost appears that all the teachings/preaching is not making impact.

And please I'm not here to quarrel with anyone, just want to make my point in peace.

ednut1: @op I don't knw wat ur prob is, since 06 wen dis guys have been comin have u seen dem causing trouble, all dey want is to hustle and win the okada and take it home, they could have join boko haram but dey didn't, leave hard workin abokis alone, there is no way of knowin if there from niger or nigeria, they are part of a larger tribe who can also claim nigeria, get a life
Bros why the attack on the OP. If you have an opinion state it and let nairalanders judge. The OP has raised his concern and he has every right to do so especially concerning all the security issues in the country presently....

EducationRe: Emmanuel Ohuabunwa 1st Blackman With 3.98 GPA At John Hopkins University by khalids: 12:49pm On Jun 26, 2012
It appears that all we do is argue, abuse and put down people in this country. Please if you see someone with an opinion different from your, try and win him over or make him better understand your opinion by bringing in sound logic, examples and evidence. And if that does not work, let him be. This abuse and insults only keeps us apart as a people and achieves nothing at the end of the day.....
EducationRe: Emmanuel Ohuabunwa 1st Blackman With 3.98 GPA At John Hopkins University by khalids: 11:05am On Jun 26, 2012
slimming: so 3.9 GPA is a celebration in that university? when lots of people are making 4.5+ in Nigeria without international recognition.
Please lets not allow this fellows statement to distract us from the topic at hand.

The young (Emmanuel) has done very well and has indeed done Nigeria proud. Believe me, there are many people of his caliber in this country, its just unfortunate that our system does not celebrate achievers nor encourage them....well done Emmanuel.

However I'm not so sure if its the right decision for him to comeback to Nigeria, as many who have come back in the past have been rubbished by the system. Suggest he prays hard about that...........
PoliticsRe: GEJ Is A Joke & Clueless - Ghanaian Prof. Ayittey by khalids: 8:31am On Jun 26, 2012
morufoye: In the spirit of oneness, I would like to appeal to all nigerians to stop this perpetual criticism of the personality of the president because presently he symbolises Nigeria. Admittedly, his performance is not up to your expectations but you voted him in and that puts the blame on the you because it proves that your judgement is inexcusably poor. The man served as a deputy governor, governor, vice president and president before you voted for him again. His previous performance should have given you the opportunity to access him and decide. If truly we need a change we should not let our religious and tribal differences affect our judgment in selecting a leader.

not all clothes are meant to be dried in the sun.
Let us chase away the fox first and later rebuke the hen.

What mr president needs right is our support. Sure it may be in form of criticism but it should be constructive. He is all we got now let's deal with it. All patriotic Nigerians should rise up and ask that big mouthed professor to shut his trap.
Bros you need to check your definition of patriotism. A patriot fights for the good of his country, and note that, country does not mean the land mass or the elected office holders but refers to the citizen. Telling us to support a man who is putting the citizens of a nation into jeopardy is absolutely unpatriotic. If you are a true patriot you will always stand for truth and the ultimate good of the citizens of your country and not any one singular individual. The office of the president is an exalted office and if any singular individual makes mockery of it, they need to be called to order and this includes the holder of such office.

So if the president is making mockery of the office, he needs to be called to order. The insults we are getting from home and abroad is simply because the president is making mockery of his office, and i believe the way to stopping this is to call him to order and not going on an offensive with the people throwing insults at him. (As the Yoruba adage say: Cutting of your head is not the cure to headache)
