Android17: Foolishness is when Warriors win 67 games in 2015. In that year only Klay and Curry are listed as all stars. But every year since then you tell them that their roster was filled with superstars and your only evidence is 67-15. But with the other side of your mouth, LeBron had bums in Cleveland. Same Cleveland he won 66 and 61 games with back to back. But you don't mention how he had 2 players who had been all stars. Like I said before, if anyone annoys me, I will come and demystify the lie that LeBron carried bums. Lol Wait was it not 2015 where Klove missed all of the finals and Kyrie missed all of the last 5 games. Lebron did not have bums all year but for the finals his team next best two players pratically did not play. we all saw this repeat itself with the 2019 finals where KD and Klay got injured, Raptors also won in 6 and there was nothing Curry or any great player would have done to change that result. |

Android17: Luka Doncic is extremely good and intelligent however his side pieces are balling out and I feel a lot of this is being overlooked. Every time they threw the box-and-one, he simply passed out of it. The receiving end showed a fellow teammate hit a huge 3. They had 50%+ on 3pt FG. My only issue with the Mavs right now is, their wins have depended on great 3pt shooting regardless of Luke's heroics. Which is why it is a problem. If their 3pt shooting dips in say game 3 and Clippers steal 1, they will be reenergerized. I know Skip Bayless has given up on his Clips but I will actually watch out for game 3 where the Mavs could let slip. All true, but the shots his team mates are taking are basically open looks. If the Clips continue to give up uncontested 3s they have a mountain to climb |

joshboo: Luka is obviously one, but trust the NBA wanting to Shove zion down people's Throat as the Next Gen superstar. Without injuries and proper diet for Luka he, Giannis and Jokic would continue to dominate the league in the next 6, 7,8 years.... Luka is special. What scares them is that the best 3 candidates for the next, face of the league are not American |

chic2pimp: To think they were calls for Giannis to leave the bucks and team up with Luka on the Mavs? Imagine adding more firepower and near elite defense to this Mavs team? A40 would have simply made this thread His permanent base for the next 5 years at the very least. If u pair Giannis with Luka they will multiple championship |

Thanos: I see my mavs have started to put the whole nba on notice. I don't want to hear any more slander concerning doncic not being top 5 atm. And I stand by my prediction towards the end of the season. Both the nets and the lakers are not making the finals!!! I was thing about that myself, he is in my top 5 at the moment although I will understand if someone else puts him at 6-8. One thing is for sure he is the best player on the floor in this first round match up |

etidy: I know people are spitting on the clippers but I kind of have a different opinion. What if Luka is the next generational player, the Jordan and LeBron of the years to come and we are just watching his inevitable rise to GOAT status. Some players come once in a while and make all opponents effort futile.
The clippers have just met another GOAT and there is probably nothing they can do about it. It's written in the stars. Never thought about it that way. Although as a real madrid fan i saw that boy do things in the Euro league that was ridiculous. The Suns should av drafted him |

etidy: And kudos to Tim Hardaway junior. He's effectively matching Paul George's output over 2 games essentially ensuring that the output of the other role players determines the outcome. THJ is really showing out, although giving him open looks does not help. The man is about to get paid next season |

Afromentalist: I believe it is better that PG focuses on Luka. He is not that productive offensively at the moment anyway and can better guard him.
If you shut Luka down then the Mavs are nuggets for the clippers He will just PnR until he gets what he wants. Luka is just too savy, the Clippers need to pray that the Mavs 3ball stops falling cause that is their only hope right now |

Roland17: This I such a tight game..but you can see Lakers using their experience to assert some control on the pace of the game. That is their only play. Turn the whole game into half court execution sets, if they continued allowing the suns to push the tempo like in game 1, then the lakers will be in trouble |

Blueelf: Na you sabi..
I agree with the curry defense critic. I went overboard there.
However, sorrounding curry with g league players and giving Wiggins that kinda contract was poor decision making by Bob Myers IMO It was not myers who gave wiggins the contract. Wiggins got said contract from Minnesota that is why the wolves gave GSW a first round pick even though they were also getting a max dollar player |

Luka is really locked in. If KP can just mix it up on the PnR by rolling to the basket sometimes, and the role players playing as well as they did today. I give the Mavs an even chance of eliminating the Clippers |

DeeMain: Giannis struggled today.
Middleton and Jrue saved the day for Bucks. Middleton showed his game has grown in this game. I hope he keeps it consistent. Giannis struggled shooting the ball but his energy on the boards was top notch. Bucks got some second chance points because of his hustle |

A40: Why does Nick Wright even have a platform? That man keeps plunging into deeper depths of idiocy everytime Like most analyst he has his bad days as well as his good ones, his Cp3 for MVP was a very poor take. Jokic is the clear MVP this year without a doubt, CP3 has played well but has not carried his team as much as Jokic as carried the nuggets |

Roland17: I never stopped you from arguing from the players perspective. I only encouraged you to examine the other perspective of any debate without bias irrespective of your original position so that you can make a fair and balanced argument. You have not taken anytime to even consider the argument from the other side and that is why I likened it to Plato’s allegory of the cave where you chained to the legs facing the wall and watching shadows.
Before arguing from the owners perspective, bare in mind this is not the first time I am debating this issue on this thread, I examined it from the players perspective.
I reasoned how and why the players were doing this. They want to win titles because it is obviously not about the money. At the end of the day, it is the role players that will suffer most. The players who don’t see the court as often.. those are the ones who will continued to get waived and tossed around for almost nothing. For these issues, IMHO the major problem for players is media and fans narrative, because a great player who never wins a ring he is constantly ribbed and ridiculed especially if he remains in the spot light after retirement. For the owners, they can easily solve most of their issues by making front office decisions based on competence instead of nepotism. when players keep seeing wrong moves and decisions as the order of the day, they will start worrying about the limited time period they have in building their legacy. With the current culture most players will not accept wasting their primes on teams that are badly run, it is high time owners recognise that it is no longer the 80's or 90's and get with the program. With the amount of money in the game especially outside the court, players will always be attracted to a team where management has great leadership. at the same time bad management will continue to become more unattractive, the days where owners hire people because they know them and not because of their ability to do the job is simply over and ownership should get with the program. PS: One aspect of great leadership is to ensure that a superstar is not over indulged even if it leads to a reset, getting it over with is better for the franchise in the long term |

steady986: All these guys have reasonable outputs. The only problem is they haven't had decent teams. Wiggins is at least a 23ppg player. Booker is a 25ppg player Sadly that is the growing trend these days. IMHO max deals have been given to guys based on perceived potential, this tend to mean that some will work out and others will not. Booker and J Murray are examples of guys who theirs based on this and have shown to deserve it. Others like Wiggins are just a waste of cap space. Personally of this crop who got the max this summer, the one person i do not think has played up to it at all is DFox |

steady986: Bam gets the max. Well, anything to lock him down, but I think it was too soon. He hasn't even proven to be a 20ppg player and a regular all-star yet. He has earned it, IMHO at the time of getting the max he has outperformed lots of other players who also got the bag e.g Wiggins, J Murray ( who proved after he had got the bag, that he was worth it), D Booker. His offensive output is just going to continue to improve so he has earned it |

Kevin Mchale once said, if you make Micheal Jordan take only 15 shots you have already beaten him, but players like Magic, Bird and Lebron can not only destroy you when taking only 15 shots but they will while doing that control the whole game. |

A40: Where is that nepotistic clown. You can see how Lamar Jackson looks when he has to face a real QB. Midway into the 4th and he has less than 100 yards. In fact he has more running yards than passing as we speak. This is what some GMs or coaches see and decide to convert him to another position. Erroneous maybe but definitely not a matter of race. Players are allowed to have bad games. Lamar for now has not figured out how to win from behind, but IMHO he will get there. As an aside if Andrews has not dropped that TD it might have been a totally different game |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 1:20pm On Sep 28, 2020 |
A40: Funny question. What did he do? What was their record and what did his teams rank on offense?
You might as well tell us Kidd taught Giannis how to play basketball. No wonder they are averaging 15+ more wins since he left
So stop your narrative about these coaches not getting opportunities I have named several and most of them fluctuate between average to downright bad
You are a liar without scruples and conscience. Shame on you.
Because I am not supporting nepotism like you means I don't support black coaches. You must be doing crack!! Where were you when we were lamenting Dwayne Casey's firing with the Raptors? Name the successful black coaches that have been fired and their replacement did not come in to do a better job.
Were Doc Rivers white you would be advocating for his firing you bloody hypocrite! I criticize underperforming black coaches and if they have performed to the point where they deserve a sack I will point it out. It's hypocrites like you that never keep the same energy
Now you're just being stupid and ignorant. A lot of black QBs have a history of being runners and not possessing sufficient arm strength to properly run an elite NFL offense. The more you run as a QB the more likely you get hurt, common sense
Even Lamar Jackson had to work on his passing to get to where he is today but you can see that in the playoffs when push comes to shove he still struggles with throwing the football
A former MVP 5 seasons ago. I agree he should have gotten a better deal but common sense should tell you that a mobile quarterback with foot injuries might not exactly be hotcake in the market.
Lmaoooo at your Peyton Manning comparison. You're so clueless. How many TDs did Peyton Manning go on to pass for that year when he was signed. You think Cam will ever match that? Not to butt in, but Lamar Jackson not only won the Heisman in college but also had better passing percentages than Josh Allen. One of the persons saying lamar should switch to receiver, was asked about Allen (who IMHO is now making a case for being a top 10 QB) and his inferior throwing stats in comparism to to Lamar and was also a great athlete, his reply was 'Stats is for losers'. I am not saying nepotism has a lot to do with coaching hires in the NBA, but sometimes its undertones can be sensed especially in giving someone the benefit of the doubt |
