seriously man, do you really know PHP that code has absolutely NOTHING to do with uploading a file. unless of course, you've uploaded the wrong code here. that code simple write 12 to the session 'unique id' and prints it back out!!!

if that's what you mean, then i can make a simple script for you. but your web server must have at least PHP and/or MySQL, cos that's what i'd be using. if you don't have MySQL, i can still work without it, but i'd prefer with MySQL.

there's no good without bad! there's bound to be bad hosts EVERYWHERE! even in the US or UK. The "bad" stories you heard are probably those from people who hosted with "struggling" hosting companies! i mean, i could setup my own "hosting compnay" (it's a common internet business) and not be able to maintain it. and then some guys hosts with me, he's bound to give bad stories, you know!

contact manager? is that what you call it? i had an address book made, using javascript and cookies (not exactly the best, but i was experimenting with cookies). making a contact manager with all that features will be piece-a-cake, dude! lol! but i'm not in for this, sorry!

download webceo (www.webceo.com) then you'd enter your website and you have an almost endless list of search engines to which you can submit your website for free.

but em, i can't tell you how to use webceo here though, you'd have to figure that one out, or read the user guide!

well,  there are a few which i've already forgotten, but so long as the name "software" or "application" is concerned,

1. F.L.A.M.E.S. - i'm sure you guys know the game. we used to play it back in primary & seconday school
2. Password Generator - it generates a random password of any lenght you want, of letter, numbers or both
3. Text Encoder/Decoder - a silly text encoder i made. it simply scrambles the letters of text so it makes no sense when read until decoded, by the same software (unless you know the encoding algorithm, which i highly doubt you'd get easily! lol)
4. Calculator - a very simple calculator like the one that comes with windows xp.
5. ProTx - a simple plain text editor i made for my HTML students. it has added features like background music, display current file size, display date & time, calculator (i simple incorporated my calculator from #4 above) and quick page preview, with which those learning HTML can quickly preview their HTML codes in the browser, strainght from the editor
6. i also made one stupid simple interest calculator when i was thinking "forex"

and if you want to consider web applications too,
7. eBSta - a customised website content management system. it does anything you want it to do for your website. ie. i customize it to your needs. its very user-friendly and almost anyone with good computer knowledge can use it.
8. WIGN (pronounced as win, the "g" is silent, like in sign) - its a very easy to use mysql manager, more like a lite version of PHPMyAdmin, just that its very user-friendly and almost anyone with good computer knowledge can use it.

there was one i did, an experiment actually, it was like a draw pad. i never named it because it was very limited in features and i never completed it to export to several image formats.

more are coming. right now, i'm thinking of working on a LINUX/UNIX emulator for Windows OS. I hope to use C++.

ok,  here i go,

the first alert pops 23, because the 1st express is 0, and so i was ignored, and then it simply means var i = 23. if the '0' was changed to something like 1, then var i would equal 1.

the second alert pops hello cos the declaration i = true (same as var i = true; true being a boolean value) returns true after declaration.

the third alert won't pop because the declaration i = false in "if (i=false){" returns false, even though the value of i has already been changed to false (i have no idea why though)

also, the fourth alert won't pop because the value of i is now false and the if condition just before the 4th alert is the same thing as writing,  if (false){ (because i is NOW false)

the fifth alert pops false cos like i just said, the new value of i is now false

so em, how much did i win!?!??

i can swim, still learning though. i learned in a space of about 10days. i can't swim deep, but i do dive (i mean, just take a deep dive and then swim back up). i can't swim far either, i get tired quite easily (still have no idea why). i also can't stay at the surface without swimming, for a while, i'll only last about 10seconds. lol. but i saw of video of myself swiming, it looked so cool, it felt like i've been swiming for YEARS! lol!
