Idol worshippers also profess to the worship of the Creator through their idols. If we truly believe that our Creator is close to us, omniscient and omnipresent, the need to worship him THROUGH any being comes to naughts.

Believing in Jesus as a God-sent teacher and a perfect role model through whom we should learn to worship God, the Creator, is different from considering Jesus an intermediate god, God's intermediary, or God Himself.

God is one, jealous.
You don't understand, jesus even told the Jews he is greater than the temple( if you know what that means).
Yes Jesus is human but he believed his action and his works were that of God incarnate. The lord himself has personally visited his people to save them. This is why the new testament authors exalted Jesus like they would exalt God. This is not about a certain trinity or nature of God, it is about the role of Jesus in the history of Isreal and the world at large, showing that he is no mere messenger or prophet.

The Jews recognize the existence of other Gods, but choose to worship one of the lots, reason being that this particular God chose them as Israel was his Heritage, and he calls Israel his first born son(Deuteronomy 32:7)he punishes them when they misbehave and blesses them when they are loyal, the Jesus story is complete bull sheet..
The Jesus story is part of the Jewish story, it is the story of Israel's messaiah, read Isaiah 53. Read more my friend, would you?

Worship God alone not Jesus or any other creatures.

Believe that Jesus, Noah, Abraham, Muhammad, Mosses(peace be on them all) etc are human being sent by God. They are to be obeyed not worship.

That is the right religion.
Why are Muslims so obsessed with worship, of course l know we are to worship God, but we are talking about beliefs here not worship, haba.

What is your idea of God? There are many versions of God, so which God do you believe in? I believe in the God of Israel seen in Jesus.

gidimafia:
i want to know what has happened to those who has not heard it and have lived. righteous life
Yeah l thought l answered that in my previous reply. God's judgment is based on your deeds, the book of revelation makes it clear that people were judged by their works. The faith in the gospel is not a mental faith whereby we just recite a particular creed and then go to heaven.
Nay, rather it is the faith that puts you in God's hall of fame. So even Christians who just have mental belief in Christ but do not show the fruits of the spirit nor grow in them are useless and worse than those who live by right conscience without the gospel. Deeds matter in the end, but the gospel is not all about heaven and hell, Jesus wants us to live the real life by becoming the salt of the earth, not just acting based on the right conscience but living by the spirit of Christ.
Heaven and Hell is not the major focus here, but wherever hell is mentioned, deeds come into play first. Read Revelation and the sayings of Jesus.
Christianity EtcRe: Will People Who Have Never Heard Of The Gospel Of Jesus Christ End Up In Hell?? by kilo4sure: 7:33pm On Jan 27, 2017
I think you are asking the wrong question here, the real question is.. What is the purpose of the gospel and why should it be preached to all the world in the first place? Also, how did God save men before Jesus was born? I would only give my answer to the first question.
1) The gospel is good news to all people who hope for the reign of God over wickedness but bad news to the unrighteous and evil ones, these are the people condemned in john 3v17 who refuse to come to the light even after hearing the gospel. Other set of people may be everyday people who live by their conscience to do what is required, their conscience bearing them witness, these are ordinary folks whom do not need the gospel to be saved from hell like the previous set in john 3v 17 but who needs the gospel of Christ to begin living life by faith, so as to become outstanding individuals.
So to summarize my answer to the first question, the gospel must be preached to both the wicked who have never heard of it, and your ordinary everyday dude in remote areas who haven't heard as well, but it is preached for different purposes. The latter needs Christ primarily to become useful for the works of God( not necessarily to avoid hell) the former needs Christ not only to become useful but also to avoid hell or God's wrath.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Must Jesus Be Involved In Blood Sacrifice In Order To Save The World by kilo4sure: 7:52pm On Jan 23, 2017
What l understand is that Christ had to pay for us, to get Israel back was costly. The price of sin is death, a sacrifice whose effect would go a long way in bringing together the sons of God. Christ paid with his blood once and for all, meaning he gave up his life for the birth of the new covenant.
Christianity EtcRe: Will Women Pastors End Up In Hell? by kilo4sure: 8:30pm On Jan 22, 2017
I believe the issue of speaking in church in those days(the term used by Paul) is different from evangelism or other works of God, for in the same 1corinthians, Paul never segregated the sexes in the ministry resulting from the gifts of the spirit which is available to all. Also Romans 16 has the list for a number of female leaders in the church those days, junia was one of them.
I think the confusion stems from what Paul means by " speaking in church ". Methinks the speaking here in l Corinthians has to do with resolving of conflicts in the church, the women of course in those days were less knowledgeable, thus you wouldn't blame Paul for telling them to learn from their husbands, of course order in the church was important to Paul.
It is unfair to read this letter with the mindset of a 21st century feminist given the fact that Paul was replying to a question( most likely a complaint) from the Corinthians, and as a leader he had to proffer practical solutions in that context.

Read the part in capital letters in your op, then read what follows..He never said we are of this world, that is your own invention. He is admonishing Christians on what they do based on the belief that we are not of this world, you are the one turning this around to impute the opposite of the statement on him.
In other words, he is saying that the conclusion Christians wants to draw from the premise of that quote is false.
Christianity EtcRe: Why I Am 100% Sure That Christianity Is Not From God by kilo4sure: 1:20pm On Jan 22, 2017
Abdulgaffar22:
The six articles of faith in Islam are as follows:1. Believe in oneness of God. 2. Believe in the angels. 3. Believe in the prophets 4. Believe in the holy books. 5. Believe in the last day. 6. Believe in destiny.Which of these six articles of Islamic faith contradict what we naturally known about God through our logical reasoning? But Cursing (Galatians 3:13,Deuteronomy 21:23) and condemning an innocent and righteous soul on the cross for greater divine purpose is the most important and unique doctrine upon which the edifice of Christianity is erected. Yet this is contradictory to what we naturally known about God. God is naturally known to ALWAYS BLESS THE INNOCENT AND RIGHTEOUS SOUL; NOT TO CURSE AND CONDEMN THE SAME SOUL for any reason whatsoever.
Even your six articles of faith do not make sense to me except number one( but even then l fail to see much of its relevance as an article of faith), so what makes sense to you may be useless to me and vice versa, so let us live and let live.

It's stupid_ to still be alive and claim not to be of this world. As far as I know, only dead people are not part of this world. Christians are better off dead so they can't be of this world. I wonder what they are still enjoying in the world anyway.
I'll assume you really want an answer, so l'll oblige.
The quote from the book of john right there hints that Christians, because of what they stand for are not loved by the world and are viewed as strange because their ways do not comply with that of the world's system especially the politics, corrupt practices and perversion which were the norms of the good old Roman Empire. Remember that after the death of Jesus, Christians for the first few centuries were regarded by all around as strange people who only eat bread and wine as a major ritual together and have sworn never to do so many things regarded as the norm or worship the Roman gods and Caesars. They were persecuted heavily for this and rightly rejected as outcasts and atheists.
However l understand why the quote seem to bear little meaning or relevance today.

Consider the following text from the bible..Mark 7:8-13
Note words with emphasis laid on them

He is saying that the pharisees are teaching that they can absolve themselves from the consequences of using what should/can be used to help their parents for other purposes which is death by declaring it corban..

in other words...Jesus is saying that the pharisees have failed to impart the law of moses recorded in Exodus 21:17 which gives us the right to kill children who dishonor their parents...

Christians what are your thoughts? M i taking it out of context or something?
His purpose there was to show to them their hypocrisy or cherry picking of the laws( as the atheists love to call it), he was saying that they twist the laws and are liberal with it when it seems too harsh or doesn't suit them hence they cannot criticize him for his views on the law and how liberal he is with certain aspects of it. For example, the Pharisees were on the extreme when they criticized Jesus for healing on the sabbath, that was certainly their own interpretation as well as with other petty things, hence Jesus to them was like a law breaker, so it's no wonder Jesus exposed the hypocrisy in them.

So based on your beliefs, good Muslims are going to heaven??
Definitely, but that's based on my beliefs.
In a way, this my statement could be misleading because l am not the kind of christian who is so much fixated on heaven and hell, not that l do not believe in them, but because l do not see Christianity simply as a means of escaping hell and going to heaven, rather l see it as a doctrine borne out of the desire to have God's rule on earth as it is in heaven, that even if we die fighting for this we believe that we would rise again to experience it. I dunno about others but this is how l read my own bible, l may be wrong but it's how l see it at the moment.

It was a yes or no question... By biblical principles, are Muslims going to heaven or hell
You should have deciphered from my reply, that biblically speaking going to the so called hell is by what you do, not by what you profess to believe or not to believe, at least that's the way l see it. In that sense no matter what you tag yourself, if you do deeds worthy of death, then you die. Besides not all Christians believe in hell, and even those who believe may have differing views on it.

Aiite, that means u don't believe they are false prophets. What about Muslims?? Are they going to hell?
I believe they are wrong, but l do not believe they are going to hell simply because l disagree with them, same with the Muslims. The concept of hell is a topic for another day, but it is not just belief and doctrines that saves one from the so called hell or takes one there, but rather it is how you allow these beliefs or lack thereof affect your ways and your deeds.

Another reason why religion and the concept of God is so flawed. Forget atheists, there are millions of people who honestly believe they're serving the true God and are ready to do anything for their god. Take Jehovah witness for example, these people are the most committed set of believers I've seen. I know some personally and u can see that their belief is real and their enthusiasm for their gospel is indefatigable.
But most Christians believe these people are false prophets who are going to perish eternally in the lake of fire. It doesn't matter their actual intentions or state of mind, it doesn't matter that they actually believed what they were preaching, they are going to burn in hell all the same.
Same applies to Muslims, Buddhists, e.t.c. and there a system created by an infinitely intelligent being who is also supposed to be benevolent... It just doesn't add up
It is not about what most Christians believe, but what should you believe. Did Christ condemn the Samaritan woman to hell, no. He simply told her ..you know not what you worship. He told her salvation is of the Jews, this is thesame Jesus who had problem with so many of his fellow Jews. So if Jesus did not behave this way and Christians behave this way( according to you) then it means something has gone wrong because many are not listening to the Holyspirit OR Jesus never even set up the so called system you talk about to begin with OR Christianity was always going to be diverse and Christians should just find unity and love in diversity.

Am asking what set Christians apart from other people, be it Muslims or atheists... And am asking for things that can actually be objectively observed not theoretical ideals like lightness and darkness...
The problem with this question is that it comes with the premise that Christianity is a singular worldview without a context or that the tenets of Christianity cannot also be copied by other religions. Many atheists were former Christians, and Muhammed saw a lot of good things in Christianity he could add to his religion, even Christianity was derived from Judaism. So looking for objective evidence that sets Christians apart would be difficult. If there ever was, it has been copied already albeit in a subtle manner. The purpose of Christianity is not to raise our ego that we are in the right religion but to challenge us, hence l cannot help but give you abstract examples such as faith, hope, love, light and darkness.

Are u kidding me??... So as long as the bible says Jesus has overcome the world. It's okay if some Christians starve to death??... So Jesus wasn't telling the truth when he said he will provide for them??
It's not okay if Christians starve to death, but if it should happen, Christianity has given Christians hope and faith to overcome.God providing for our needs doesn't stop some form of tribulation or suffering in a life time, but then when you walk through the fire he would walk with you. Even Jesus the son of God at a time suffered many things but gained the glory. A Christian should not suffer, but if he has to face it, he knows it is temporary.

But thesame bible said.. " In the world you would have tribulation but cheer up, l have overcomed the world". So at least Christianity gives those Christians in Haiti hope even in their suffering, with that hope they may overcome the suffering and have courage to turn things around.
