leofab:But the world has not ended na, how can you say he failed? It is a gradual process Jarry. |
Horus:So how was this a human sacrifice? Were the Romans offering Jesus as a human sacrifice or they were simply giving him the death of rebels? |
Ecclesiastice |
doctor306:I don't think God punished them, l believe he only stated the consequences of having your eyes opened knowing good and evil. |
Mememan:What do you guys even mean by human sacrifice? A leader or would be king who gives up himself for his community, is that a human sacrifice? Ayam not understanding. |
leofab:Have you seen any immortal being? I guess no. The only one of God from heaven he has revealed the immortal. |
leofab:What is a god? |
[quote author=leofab post=55616026]the guy wasn't a god and can not be a god.. he is just a good messenger and advocate of love and peace.[/quote) What is a god? |
Horus:It says Jesus died for our sins, which means he went to the cross because of our collective iniquity, but God by raising him from the dead as explicitly confirmed his messaiahship and the will of the lord would prosper in his hands. |
mohemos:Even so, those Godly experiences would be filtered through a human mind. Haven't you ever wondered why Jesus would still need Holy spirit before doing anything worth recording? |
mohemos:So are you saying you believe even as a baby in a manger, jesus had all knowledge? If so, then why did he grow in wisdom and power as enumerated in the book of Luke? |
Raised to heaven how na? |
mohemos:The book of Hebrews already explained that he was made to be like us completely, feeling our pain and sharing in our humanity, this could only mean he was capable of being swayed to sin but overcame. So even if the Devil knew he was God, the devil could also see he was now susceptible to the flaws and weakness humanity offers Shikena. |
bamidelee:Lol, being a Christian, is it about celebrating Christmas? this is a new one. |
AnonyNymous:Methinks, it is not that God cannot forgive without sacrifice, but that the effect of the sin is abolished by sacrifice. Even when God hath forgiven his people they could still be under slavery and bondage due to the effect of so much sin from the community as a whole except a ransom be paid to buy them again. |
realestniggah:Hmm, well l believe you are aware Christianity didn't even originate in Europe, and had spread far to African countries such as Ethiopia even before Constantine. |
hadjipapiey:Nobody said God died and rose, but that Jesus died and rose, Jesus was human having God in him fully to carry out God's mission and activities completely even as a man, so in a sense you can say he is God incarnated, but that doesn't take away his humanity. |
prynsex:He died and then rose on the third day, even if u say after three days, you would have to consider time frame in Jewish culture of old and how they interpreted days, for example a day may not be complete 24hours, so you start counting from Friday. |
Goodnuel:While reading the gospel stories in order, especially Luke and Mark before john, it seems to me that the primary mission of Jesus was to sow the seed of the kingdom of God on earth which would then sprout. He had to achieve this even if he must give his life for it as the prophecy in Isaiah 53 states. But judas, due to his greed, facilitated the process of the death of Christ. The death of jesus wasn't a good thing initially and it's not as if Jesus just set out to die, but on the other hand it didn't matter anymore because he would be sacrificing himself for a course, and would become the first fruit of the resurrection. I don't know if Judas is to be blamed or not, but this is to answer your question about Jesus not being divine enough to forsee the betrayal of Judas. |
haykinzz:When it comes to female football, it is no shitty league cos the Asians are among the powerhouses in that domain |
Aderola15:The problem here is.. Why is she taking permission to go on the date with the lines..no strings attached, and oh he's just an old friend, bla bla bla. This is because even she can sense there's fire on the mountain. This is not about a so called insecurity of the guy, nor is it just about a lack of trust on his part, rather it is about the fact that she doesn't even trust herself on the so called platonic date, thus her boyfriends' permission would do. The flesh indeed is weak. |
Kimberlylouis:If he doesn't agree to that, the girl would subconsciously feel she is entrapped. The best thing is to tell her she is free to go, and that he's even looking forward to taking one of his female friends out to a birthday party as well. |
My man, it would have been much better if you didn't send her that message. The message, from your point of view l guess, was to arouse her emotion and then stir up pity for you in her, then she becomes remorseful and go weeping, the way it is depicted in romantic Hollywood, Bollywood and even Korean movies. But this is Naija my guy, and sending such a weak text message to a typical Naija babe would only irritate her the more, even if she struggles to truly love you from her heart, she would find it difficult to respect and admire you because you tolerated her so much in ways that do not even benefit you. Also ur text message is still loaded with so much respect for her despite her behavior. My advise! Do your best to forget about her by meeting other ladies and engaging yourself in numerous worthwhile activities. And when you fall in love again, do not be overtly involved emotionally, even if you love your new gal, note that you can always do without her because there are lots of fishes in the ocean, and most importantly you have your goals and other things which also occupy your mind and emotions as strongly as your love for her. |
Hmnn! this is so serious, l wish l could help. Let's just hope the guy or babe below me solves this problem. |
Yeah nice story. I think funmi is actually the one narrating the story( nice plot). It begins with her and ends with her. Funmi wants to be bad with her final conclusion at the Epilogue that " only the good die young"( from her own perspective anyway). I must confess this Chistar guy is one hell of a writer. Thumbs up. Maxwell made the wrong decision sticking with a cultist friend till the end, and Henry as a cultist took it too far when he beheaded that lecturer. As an alumni of unique uniport myself, the scenes and the plots reflects the uni so well. I laughed out loud when the OP stylishly described "Prison Break"(nicknamed by students) at Aluu which had very little reflection of light to the stairways and corridors. Op once again l twale. |
Yap you got it, Ecclesiastes it is. Next is proverbs. |
hopefulLandlord:One of the major differences is that the Quran never states that man was made in the image and likeness of God. So Muslims would never understand why Christians can see God in Jesus. In the Quran, the primary purpose for man was to bow and worship Allah, but the Bible states that God was looking for one to subdue the earth, to dress the garden and keep it for him. These are the minor but yet subtle differences l can remember. |
But who is God? You do not know God or what he represents. If l ask you to describe God, you would give me the version of God in your Quran. Christianity states that no one has seen God(understood what God is) but the son of God(also son of man) Jesus the Nazarene has fully revealed him. Jesus is messaiah and would one day rule his people and the world as king. In the old testament the prophets reffered to YHWH as the real king to rule his people. But the revelation to the new testament authors is that Jesus is that king. If Jesus is the one to perform all of the works of the unknown YHWH, then knowing Jesus is knowing that same God in the simplest way our human senses could grasp him. YHWH God does not sit on a throne, he is only there figuratively, with Jesus as his right hand man revealing him and his will. It is Jesus the man who sits on the throne ( in essence he is the ruler) and every knee must bow to him. Jesus the man is the true YHWH king that Israel seeks. |
But some of the richest people in the world are/were also religious, not everything is black and white. Many factors and policies contribute to the likelihood of wealth or poverty of a Nation, or a set of people, and religon has little or nothing to do with it. The likes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE comes to mind. We know oil played a major role in all of those cases, it would be myopic then to say they are rich due to religion. If the reverse was the case, it would also be myopic to attribute their poverty to religion. |
HCpaul:If as blacks we all start accepting this your reality, then we become truly cursed. The way you see yourself easily becomes the way others see you. |
Matican:Yes God sent him, but sent him to do what? The task he came to carry out makes him special. It is properly outlined in Luke 4v18 and in line with what the prophets said Yahweh would do. Remember at the name of Jesus every knee must bow and every tongue must confess his lordship. These are not words spoken of a mere messenger rather the early Christians saw Christ as the true Emperor( in that culture, Caesar was not just a man, he was god who brought peace to Rome). Christ Jesus then is said to be the true lord at which a proclamation of his name causes every knee to bow in worship. How do you explain all these from the worldview of the new testament authors? |
jboy01:Na wa o! So if nor be voice of God na voice of Devil? |
