This OP is a racist. Why didn't you include Recoveries too?

Oh! Because you know Nigeria is doing well there, isn't it?

Shame on you.
I was wondering. They dont want to put the recoveries to show where Nigeria outshines the rest.

Nigeria and Uganda na wao, but wait oo does it mean that Ghana manages this epidemic better than Nigeria?
That's an incomplete story. They should show the number of persons recovered and you will see the difference.

However the north and Lagos is not helping Nigeria's matter. Death rates in those places keep rising.

Ok let me also add your analysis to my facts... In this case, it means Coronavirus fatality in Nigeria is negligible. It means we already have high death rate thats why we have not seen or notice people litter the streets like one woman predicted. To be honest, i thought by now, corpses will litter the street from what I saw in Italy, and US. If our immune system is good enough or if by been ignorant to the virus will help keep death rate low, i think is a better option. If Europe and China handled there own coro the way we are handling it here, there corpses will litter the streets. Thats why i concluded that our own coro is different.
I get your point. But it's not a good thing to make conclusions without carrying out a good research. There are several factors that encourages or limit the spread of a virus. Also the death rate too from most viral infections depends on the immune system. As this novel virus continue to unfold in front of our eyes, we shall get to know more about it.
PoliticsRe: Governor Obiano Storms Head Bridge Onitsha (Pictures) by Kinematics:

Lol... The highly contagious coro I know, cannot come into a state and affect only one person. In Nigeria we have 5 or more states with only 1 case. Did the person fly in to the state and direct to the hospital with the virus without any contacts? Tell me something else pls.
So with this layman's analysis you concluded that our coronavirus is different?

Please how many strains of COVID-19 do you know?

As for the spread let me give you some possible reasons why our numbers are not high yet;

1. Our testing so far has been mediocre at best. 500-1000 tests per day is laughable.
2. Not everybody with symptoms that's in keeping with COVID-19 seek medical attention and get tested (our people prefer native or pastor)
3. Our young population is more, meaning we may have people with better immune system, thus they may have the virus but show no symptoms. Without symptoms most people dont even know or care to know if they have coronavirus.
4. Illiteracy & poverty is a problem in our society, this limits people from seeking/getting proper healthcare.
5. People die everyday, some suddenly. How many care to know the cause? Many will just conclude "na village people".

I just listed a few possible reasons why most states is just 1 case and low confirmed cases in Nigeria in general looking at our population and movement of Nigerians across the globe.

NB, COVID-19 just like many viruses is self limiting and with an uncompromised immune system you can recover from it.

MOST Viruses don't have a cure..

MOST OF THE ONES I mentioned do not have a cure.. cheesy

You can vaccinate against them to prevent getting infected but they do not have a cure..

A VACCINE is not a CURE.. shocked

If you get sick from them,NO DRUG WILL CURE YOU..

You can manage them until the body is able to heal itself or suppress them not to cause further damage..

The COMMON COLD that everyone suffers from in their lifetime doesn't have a cure..

Chicken Pox that most people have in their lifetime doesn't have a cure..

POLIO doesn't have a cure..

Ebola doesn't have a cure..

Small Pox doesn't have a cure..

Many others do not have a cure.. cheesy

This topic is a little above your appreciation and it is not my responsibility to enlighten you.. undecided

Believe what you will, I still maintain that viruses are man made. Don't let them brainwash you in medical school. The Europeans and Americans only write what they want you to believe. As a black man, name any virus before the advent of colonialism.
Jesus, what did I just read? So there were no viruses in Africa or anywhere blacks were before colonialism?

Wonderful... so we have people that reason like this?
Just wonderment...

Please what might be causing this and what is the solution because I don't think it is possible for me to completely avoid eating beans.
Please be explicit on your symptoms.

DEMOLISH HOTEL PRESIDENTIAL NOW.

As I speak, hotel presidential is in full operation. Guest are coming in and out daily.

LASMALL, another hotel located around Rumukagbor link Road is also operating in full swing. In fact there was a heated argument between your task force and the management of the hotel for operating and violation of lockdown order a fourth night ago. Why is LASMALL not demolished?

Gov Wike, you said there are no sacred cow in the fight against #COVID19. Demolish hotel presidential and LASMALL now.

Some of us knew already that the OP didn't make this thread as a headline news, he's indirectly mocking the prospect of Enugu airport seeing the light of the day. Reading from behind and gauging your reactions.

See, yoruba intrigues is far from neutrality. It's all about monopoly.

Monopolize the seaports

Monopolize the southern airports

They know if Enugu intl airport is open , that will serve the South East and some axis of South South .
Serve which axis of south south?

There is airport in Calabar, Akwa Ibom, PH, Warri, Asaba, and Benin.
So which SS are you talking about? Why do you guys always like to attach yourself to SS.

Nna, I've never heard of anyone requesting for blood/stool/urine culture for Salmonella typhi in Nigeria.
I wasn't referring to cultures in general for other organisms/diagnoses, but for Typhoid/Enteric fever in particular.
That's very very rare.
They rely on a single Widal test, which will show a "significant titre" even for me that haven't been around for some years.
This has been made worse by the roadside laboratories that have started reporting their own "significant titres" even from 1/80, instead of the >1/160 we were taught in schools.
Yes it's done. Infact I order for it if I strongly suspect typhoid. Most MDs today you cant even start treating typhoid fever without doing atleast a stool mcs.

Since the advent of HMO you cant even try to manage a patient for typhoid with just widal test.

Yes most government practice (some consultants will break my head for this) in Nigeria still rely on widal test for typhoid, but private has gone far especially those that have retainership with companies.

Dont know where you practice, but in most hospitals in Port Harcourt today you cant manage a patient for typhoid without carrying out a stool mcs atleast.

Gone are those days when you'll just do a widal and say significant tire for enteric fever
