My eyes have seen and my ears have heard. Way back during my Housemanship we had this copa(Corps member aka NYSC) serving in one of the Ogoni LGAs in Rivers State. She had CS, but developed abdominal abscess few weeks after the CS. Her wound was healed but her abdomen was swollen and firm with severe pain/tenderness. Vomiting and spike in temperature was a mainstay for her and she was rushed to BMSH. She was admitted under my surgical team, as the houseman I took her history from the A&E and placed her on NPO, fluid and antibiotics cover until the surgeon came. We sent her for abdominal USS, but the scan was showing that it was an abscess.
We rushed her for operation(exploratory laparostomy) with an Obstetrician present, only for us to open her up to our greatest surprise we found a surgical towel that was used to pack her intestines. Crazy stuff.
I'm glad that lady survived and we've been friends till date |

Make your research More people and travellers live in PH. Ph is a bigger city with more connections to anywhere in the world not just Nigeria. PH has more connections by road, air and sea than Aba. More transport companies operate in PH than Aba. Yes Aba is commercial, but not on the level of ph when it comes to transportation. Unless you are talking about transportation to villages in Abia state. People only go to Aba from PH to buy cheap goods, not to travel. Even the goods it's not because they cant get it in PH, but because it's way cheaper in Aba. |

Welcome to my city People from PH to Aba to enter bus.... chisos chisos, nothing I no go see... lie small small naaa... OP if you can live in the north without wahala, then you can as well in the south. I know as a northerner you may be looked at as an enemy especially in Aba or any other SE city or state, but PH is too cosmopolitan for that. Language will never be a barrier for you in PH as long as you can speak pidgin english or correct english. In Aba at first they'll use Ibo to communicate with you, but once they know that you dont understand they'll switch(sometimes they will still use Ibo unknowingly), however they've already marked you as an outsider. For cities that you've never been to, I'll say stay close to your own(other northerners) and avoid unnecessary night movement. PH and Aba are safe especially during the day. It's your country so feel free to explore, but be careful. Dont listen to anyone telling you onitsha. How can you be going to Aba and be lodging in faraway onitsha? Does Okada ride in Tokyo, Japan, Beijing, Berlin or New York?
Even, is Okada in Onitsha? Why would Okada be allowed in Ikeja the seat of government?
For those saying crime rate will increase, thats unless Lagos state government is clueless and stuppid. Sanwo Olu is smart though as far as I know and a very hardworking governor. You can deny this if you want... But the heavy volume of work going on Lagos roads speaks for itself.
Obiano the drunkard banned Okada in Anambra. Did heavens fall? Rochas even went to the extent of banning keke in the entire state. Did crime rate increase? Was okada not banned in Nnewi even with the rate of billionaire Okada importers from that axis? Did anybody die?
What most of you don't know is that Nigeriens, Chadians, Sudanese, Malians and Somalians took over South West without anybody knowing! It was gradual, crude and definite.... But they were almost succeeding before I believe Sanwo Olu stepped in. At a time, I was asking myself if there is no regulatory body managing these people in Lagos anymore.
They virtually took over Lagos with there stuppid, crazy and mannerless style of driving. They felt like Lords of the city and if you try to caution them, they will bow there heads in foolishness to thank you. But in there hearts, they were calling you Mumu after scratching your car.
What is Keke doing in Victoria Island? Who even brought this useless contraption to Nigeria? India that manufactures these nonsense made moves to regulate them.
Google Indian roads and see how organized keke driving is. But in Lagos, its madness! They will keep on creating multiple lanes that cause traffic, scratching peoples car with no mercy, hitting pedestrians with reckless abandon while using there Okada and useless keke to rob at night!
I ask again, is Lagos no longer a city? Why is there no Okada in Tokyo, Japan, Beijing, Berlin, Stuttgart, Dubai, Osaka, Chicago or New York?
Sanwo Olu if you are reading this, its not much about making these laws. Its about enacting and enforcing these laws! Enforce the ban and see sanity return to Lagos!
cc [/s] Nonsense. In as much as I support this, because I wonder why a state like Lagos will still allow Okada on its roads in this 21st century. Dont make it sound like yorubas do not do okada/keke business as well. Drop your comment without being tribalistic. Moreover what has the government put in place to reduce traffic jam in Lagos? Well na una sabi awon Lagosians! |

Atouke:
Because I punctured your lies! This is no hype akwa ibom is reality. There are several countries in Africa that don't have what we have in akwa ibom state. Several countries dont generate even up to 191MW power which is 3 times the electricity needs of akwa ibom. Most countries in including Nigeria does not have an airline, Akwa ibom state does, it also owns and operates it's own airport. Most countries dont have sea port Akwa ibom is in the process of building one and most countries dont have stadium like the Godswill Akpabio stadium. The kind of road network in Akwa ibom is mesmerizing. To cap it all it has the hydrocarbons to drive its economy. If Akwa ibom were to be country it will be a great country. This is not hype but reality. Calm down ooo. Airline(I guess the individuals that own airlines their states will be jubilating about this too), 191MW of electricity, road, stadium, seaport in view and hydrocarbon. Is that all? This is crass ignorance. Are these the kind of things you are jubilating about? Damn this is sickening. It means states like Lagos and Rivers will be over the moon already. Guy man calm down and stop looking ordinary on the thread. You better go and create jobs for the common man on the street of Uyo and stop hyping nonsense. Atouke: People like you lack knowledge but pretend that they know what's is obvious the dont.
Mention any state in Nigeria that owns its power generating company besides Akwa ibom state via ibom power plant, and mention the power generation company name. So others can verify.
Only rivers state government built power plant but Gov. AMECHI sold them to tonye Cole company.
Others have federally funded or private power companies. Mini plant / generators that Lagos and cross river state built dont count. As none of them can supply one local government not to talk of the whole state.
Ibom power plant has the capacity that can supply the whole of Akwa ibom, abia, bayelsa and cross river state combined. If the FG was not taking Akwa ibom power to the national grid. I leave you with your ignorant hype. It's good to hype but dont spread ignorance in case of hype. I've read your post all through. It's good you are happy with what your governor is doing in building stadiums, what I dont get is the ignorance you are displaying in several areas of your comment. It baffles me for someone to be jubilating about 191MW of power generation and stadium. It's time we start celebrating more meaning achievements in this country. This is 21st century. Things like this should be celebrated by individuals not state. States are bigger than this mediocrity. |
