E- family ,

Vetassess has dealt with my Hubbyoo anyway I am not giving up needed t claim partners point but it came out negative.

Below is the outcome can someone tell me what we did wrong so we can go back to the drawing board and fix it.

Nominated Occupation: Welfare Centre Manager
(ANZSCO Code: 134214)
Qualification/s: 1. Bachelor of Arts awarded in 2004 by the University
of Ibadan, Nigeria is assessed as comparable to the
educational level of an AQF Bachelor degree and is
therefore at the required level.
Field of study Philosophy is not highly relevant
Employment assessed: 1. Welfare Manager, Anambra West Local Government (04/2012 to 03/2017)
The employment Welfare Manager, Anambra West Local Government (04/2012
to 03/2017) does not meet the minimum requirements for this occupation as
the employment does not follow a qualification at the required level in
a highly relevant field
A positive assessment of both qualifications and employment is required for a
positive Skills Assessment Outcome.
Skills Assessment Outcome: Negative
Based on the evidence provided, the qualifications and/or employment described above do not meet the Skills
Assessment requirements of your nominated occupation.

This is what they require from ANZSCO:

Plans, organises, directs, controls and coordinates a centre, program or project concerned with social welfare support.

Skill Level 1 : Occupations at Skill Level 1 have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

We even took some task to match up I really need everyone input was it the employment that is the problem or the Uni because I got positive assessment and my course of study was not highly relevant too.
Sorry for the negative outcome. Did you write your reference letter in line with the tasks on Anzsco website? It's still possible that they did not consider the qualifications as highly relevant to the nominated occupation. Secondly, if they tasks you provided in your letter does not match the nominated occupation, I think the number of years of experience usually is reduced. My thought, other guru please help out.

Thank you.

I gained admission into Flinders University to study Master of Business, my offer of admission came in four days after applying. I got my CEO after my tuition fees was paid as well as my OSHC. I applied for my visa on the 6th of April, my visa grant was issued on the 24th of April. Meanwhile, I also took PTE Exams, the result came the next day.
did you submit bank statement? How much was in it? Who is your sponsor? How much did you pay before COE was issued?

The tasks for community worker does seem close to the courses you mentioned. Be sure that the NGO is registered and recognized, vetassess requested for the company incorporation documents of the company I worked with. To be safe though you can pay for the skills assessment support to give you an idea if your course matches the occupation (looks like it does).

Thanks bros for your response. The company is registered but being recognized I do not know what you mean(like a international NGO)? I can provide the company incorporation.

Please.,how much is vetassess skill assessment support fees?

@Kingbukaz,

Depends on the assessing body and number of years of experience in lieu of qualification required.

Read the requirements of the assessing authority on their website.
Above is oga bellong's response. Below is what I got from Vetassess website

Community Worker (ANZSCO Code 411711)

This occupation requires a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation.

In addition to this, applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years in a field which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation. If employment is not post-qualification, then three additional years of highly relevant employment are required.

If the qualification is not in a highly relevant field, two years of employment at an appropriate skill level, completed in the last five years which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation is required. This is reduced to one year if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Certificate IV level in a highly relevant field.

A positive assessment of both qualifications and employment is required for a positive Skills Assessment Outcome.

My question is, even if my qualification is considered not Highly relevant in thE nominated occupation putting in mind what it says about it, can it fly? Please house, has anybody been assesses by vetassess in this circumstances? Please I need you guys to all join me and analyze my situation. We are many with b. SC in public administration here so we will know if we can choose this occupation.

Thanks. I was told the admission is for next year February may be because I indicated that I want to use NZDS as sponsor. I was also given partial scholarship based on academic performance (according to the details sent to me). I have till August to accept, defer or reject the offer. Base on the link u shared up there, I think I can wait to see the progress of my application for NZDS till August to make informed decision. I wish we can make the trend lively to keep us abreast of latest happening. #Respect

Please, what post graduate program? PhD? How much is the partial scholarship?

Good morning Family,

I intended to nominate Human Resource adviser unfortunately it was removed from the list. I have been researching cuz I do not intend to give up on this dream. I have b. SC in public administration and I did some courses like :

Intro to philosophy
Intro to psychology
Conflict resolution
Social change and problems
Intro to sociology
Rural and community development
Project planning and implementation
Govt and administration of urban system
Public personal administration
Development administration
Social and welfare administration
Public budgeting system... Etc

As a result of the above, I intend to nominate Community worker. I have a relation that runs an NGO in this area, worked with him briefly after NYSC before getting employment in HR. I can be able to provide evidence of employment in line with the job description. Family, do you think the courses/ degree mentioned above can be positively assessed for Community worker? Please, help a brother. Oga belong and other gurus in the house. God bless you all.

Yes, I believe you can use NYSC. You should add your Masters as well even with 6yrs or more experience.

As per bellong, send all your qualifications and everything you have got. You don't want to blame yourself later when it comes to VETASSES.

Thanks alot bro! Will keep you posted. Please can I have your email? Or pm you anytime?

Ebonyi State University is also in Section 2. So your B.Sc would be classified as equivalent to Associate Degree AQF except it took 5years to complete.

Assuming you completed your B.Sc in 4years, then only your M.Sc would be equivalent to AQF Bachelors Degree. However, this was just completed this year. In agreement with you and chubbya2, you need an additional year experience to use your M.Sc HRM

The second scenario which I believe would also need an extra year experience is with the assumption that your 5 years experience was in HR. So you could substitute these 5yrs were for Bachelors degree AQF as per "At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification." However, you will still need an additional year. This scenario will only work if you have 6 or more years of experience ( if I am correct)

It is my opinion that you need to work an extra year in HR.
Well explained, thanks boss! You need to be a lecturer ooo! Lolz! Can I use my one year NYSC to make it up 6years plus(june will be 7years) as "As per 5years working experience in a highly relevant field may be substituted for qualification " to move ahead with bsc and msc unless you advice I drop the Msc and use only my bsc in public administration.

You mentioned somewhere that you are a graduate of Public Administration from a state university.

Have you thought of "131114: PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER" The tasks required should be close to that of a station manager, which you did for 2years. Task examples are:
-Directing the development and implementation of sales strategies and setting sales targets in order to maximise an organisation's sales and customer loyalty
-Directing the development and implementation of strategies to generate increased consumption of an organisation's goods and services through the creation and reinforcement of 'brand image' or 'brand loyalty'

This would only work if your B.Sc Pub Admin is equivalent to AQF Bachelors Degree. Which university is your B.Sc in Public Administration from and in how years did you complete it?
Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. Graduted 2009. What's your take on it? Thanks for your response so far bro! God bless you

It should be a Section 2 Uni. where:

-Master Degree of 1 or more years full-time will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

-Master of Philosophy of 2 years full-time after a Bachelor Degree or 1 year full-time after a Master Degree will be equivalent to AQF Master Degree

-Only 5 or more years full-time Bachelor Degree is equivalent to AQF Bachelor otherwise it is equivalent to Associate Degree

-Bachelor Degree of 3 years full-time after Senior Secondary Certificate is equivalent to Diploma

Okay bro! Thanks! Mine is 2years full time, it even extended to the third year cuz of delay in thesis and final defence.

I guess my best option is to wait for gain one year post work experience for my Msc in HRM. And pray it remains on the list.

Was hoping even if my bsc Is assessed as associate degree that with my masters in HRM I can get a positive assessment for qualification. Cuz what they said about having additional degree at least Diploma!

Required Skill Level:

This occupation (HR Adviser) requires a qualification which is assessed as comparable to the educational level of an AQF Bachelor
degree or higher degree, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation; thus your BSc Pub Admin if assessed as Asso Degree, cannot be upgraded to AQF BSc)

In addition to this, applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level (That is work experience after your masters in HRM)
Nevertheless,  If employment is not postqualification, then five additional years of highly relevant employment are required.

If the degree is not in a highly relevant field, three years of employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the
last five years in a field which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation
(your HR work Experience) is required. This is reduced to two years if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Diploma level in a highly relevant field.

A positive assessment of both qualifications and employment is required for a positive Skills Assessment Outcome.

If you claim that HR is a branch of Public Administration, are your core subjects in HR? if yes do these subjects reflect on your transcript? You also stated that you have close to 6 years HR work experience, however, a year of work experience will be deducted during assessment; therefore you will be left with less than 5 years work experience.

Thanks for your time. I guess I have two options now,

First, is for me to wait and gain one year Post experience foR my masters in HRM.

Secondly, to wait till end of the year for me to have up to 7years even when it reduced to 6 years, it can still fly having in mind that my BSC in public administration may not be highly relevant in the nominated occupation.

Since they stated that if the "qualification is not highly relevant to the nominated occupation, five years work experience is required which can be reduced to two if the applicant has additional qualification at least a diploma" . My question: if I add my Msc in HRM, can't this above stated be applicable in my case? Please Chubby, am sorry if am asking a lot. Your brother is in a tight corner, am trying to see options left for me. 850aud is much to throw away. What can you advice? Am worried but I do not want to back out as am determined. Thanks
