The verse is very clear my brother. God did prefer Jacob to Esau, not because He hated Esau just as you've posited; but, because He CALLED Jacob in his(Esau's) stead. Not because Jacob pleased Him or was outstanding character wise,but, it was just simply a matter of CALL. Down that scripture, it clearly states that: God's choice is based on His CALL on our lives, not based on anything we have done,good or bad. Remember that: even before they were born, God told their Mother Rebecca that:she was going to have TWINS and that the elder would serve the younger one. That was even before they were born. This clearly shows that, He(God) had called Jacob since when He was in his mother's womb even before he was born. Just like He said to Jeremiah that: "I knew you even before you were born".

But the Joy, however is that: God had made up for this seeming impartiality
, through the coming of Christ Jesus into the world. So that: ALL, who now BELIEVE, would be SAVED irrespective of who they are. Meaning in this time of Grace and Mercy, everyone is CALLED. Also, He had made it up, for those who were caught up in the web of death before the coming of Christ Jesus(GRACE). I.e those who died before Christ Jesus came. He did this after the death of Christ Jesus, but, before His resurrection. The scripture says," Christ Jesus after His death, went to the world of the death and proclaim the gospel to them", so that: whoever believes in him, would be saved also even though he may have died. The reality of our lives as human beings, is a matter of creation and birth. While it is true, that we were firstly created by God to live and exist in His nature, image and likeness; it is also true that: we were born in the nature, image and likeness of the enemy(devil). What I mean is that: man as a creation of God was created a ruler, but man as bornt by the flesh, was bornt a slave(a sinner). See Genesis 1:26 and John3:6

Take note, to see that: our creation and birth are two different things. We were created by God in His nature to live in holiness according to His will, dictates, plans and purposes for our lives. However, after Adam the first created man on earth, failed that prime purpose; we subsequently became bornt/birthed all of us in the nature of the enemy(devil), to live sinfully according to his control, manipulations and exertions over our lives.

The truth is, when Adam was created, he was created in the nature and image of God, See Genesis 1:26. But, later when he got deceived by the enemy in the 'Garden of Eden' and failed the purpose of God for his life, the enemy (devil) took charge over his life and possessed him with his evil nature and power called the 'FLESH'; As a result, God cast him from His presence and sent him out of the GARDEN. This was so, because God saw that His nature and purpose had left Adam, hence, the reason for casting him out of his presence. Furthermore, it is worthy of note, that, this FLESH was introduced into Adam, as a symbol of the fruit he(Adam) received from the enemy through his wife Eve in the 'Garden of Eden'. See Genesis 3:6.

OUR CONNECTION TO THIS.
Remember that: before Adam failed the purpose of God for humanity, I.e before he got deceived and left the GARDEN, he and his wife (Eve) had not copulated. It was years later after they left the GARDEN, that they copulated and bore a son (Cain), See Genesis 1:4-16. Cain was bornt however, not in the nature of Adam before he sinned I.e( not in the nature of God) but, in the now new nature of Adam after he had sinned I.e (in the nature of the enemy(devil)). If they had copulated before he sinned and had a son in that nature, the child say Cain for example would've been in the nature of God. But since otherwise was the case however, the child was bornt in the nature of the enemy(devil). After then, Adam and his children continued to procreate in the new(flesh). Soon enough, their number was multiplied and the earth became filled with people in the new nature of Adam as a fallen man I.e in the FLESH. This is how me and you, all of us as a matter of fact; have come to possess the evil nature and power called the FLESH. But for our genetic connection with our first ancestor Adam, we would've been freed from that nature. That we are carriers of that nature today, is not because of any thing we did or failed to do. It is a nature that we've all inherited from our first Father Adam.

THE POWER OF FLESH.
This nature is so powerful. Soo powerful that he controls, manipulates, dictates and rules your life all from within, whether consciously or subconsciously. As long as you are human; born of flesh and blood, then, you a carrier of that nature. And nothing will ever seperate you from it, till death do you part. Only death can set you free from the tyranny and grip of the FLESH; your religious activities such as: paying of tithe, offering, 10 hours marathon prayers, 21 days fasting, works of charity and all other activities as these notwithstanding. Nothing can set you free except death. See Romans 7:6.

Furthermore, notice all your new year resolutions at the beginning of each year, notice all your effort and strategies deployed, aimed at taming master FLESH, notice all your human effort at forestalling the scourge of sexual immorality, indecency, anger, envy, jealousy, stealing, greed and the infamous lies that have now become a norm for most people as a way of life. You dare not criticise anyone for sexual immorality; when you steal too, you dare not criticise anyone for drunkenness; when you rob others too, you dare not criticise anyone for being greedy; when you fight your parents too and you dare not criticise anyone for envy; when you get jealous of others too. It is a matter of all of us sinning differently. The scripture says, "no one is righteous for all of us have sinned alike". See Romans 3:10. The same man(flesh) that produces the fruit of sexual immorality in you, produces indecency in me, the same flesh that produces complaint in another, also produces idolatry in yet another to remind us of his indelible presence within us. And it could be quiet for a while in you; say: a month, a year or more. But, when the time is right or when any opportunity avails itself, it will surely strike again to remind you of his dominance and presence.

The truth is that: no one, I repeat no one can conquer the FLESH by any human effort except DEATH. Again I refer us to see Romans 7:6. But, whoever dies in that nature, such a person will not inherit the kingdom of God and there's no alternative to this. See 1corinthians 15:50. But, all thanks be to God the Father, the creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty God; glory be to His holy name who gave us the victory through our union with Christ Jesus. He(God) knew that: only death would set us free from the FLESH, that was why He sent Christ Jesus, to come and die the death that you and me ought to die in order to be freed from the FLESH. See 2corinthians 5:21. so that, as we are now alive, free from the FLESH, we should live in holiness to bear the fruit of RIGHTEOUSNESS unto the one that loved us and died for us

Finally, let it be known to us all, that nothing or no one can save anyone except only by our union with Christ Jesus. very true bro, that angels are spirit too. But there is a difference. The difference is that, while in Christ Jesus and the holy spirit is the FULLNESS of the spirit of God, it is not so in the angels.

Remember that, the devil too was an angel before he was cast out of heaven. But you would clearly agree that Christ Jesus is more powerful than him. You may want to ask why,since they are both spirit. The reason is that: in Christ Jesus, is the FULLNESS of the spirit of God where as, such FULLNESS is lacking in the all the angels including the devil. That's why Christ Jesus, is more powerful than him( the devil). Because in Him(Christ) is the FULLNESS of the spirit of God.

Just for the record, there are seven spirits of God that make the fullness of the complete overall of the spirit of God, and once anyone possesses such, that's the ETERNAL LIFE. such a person will live forever and ever never to die again. And that's what we've been promised, if we believe and have faith in Christ, then we shall receive it to live and never to die again.

Finally, just as Christ has it and is more powerful than all the angels including the devil, all of us who believe in him will posses it too and become more powerful than all the angels including the devil just as Christ is. For ours, is the FULLNESS of His spirit in us through our union with Christ Jesus not like the abridged one in the angels. Reason why the devil stays far away when one lives his life in union with Christ Jesus. That the devil lords it over you today, is a matter of ignorance. I was I never at loss bro as to what your position is. I wish you would be careful enough to get my point. John 1:1 downward is telling us about Jesus being the word of God and then being God as well, it never meant to portray Him as God the Father. Just like you as a human being, Jesus Christ had a mind of His own apart from that of God the Father's own. However, it was the word of God the same thing as the spirit of God in Him that gave Him life. Meaning the fullness of the spirit of God that was in Him, was what made him to be God also. That's what John1:1 downward is saying. Take note, that the word of God is the same thing as the spirit of God...Happy sunday

Bro, my first comment explains this ur position that I believe is a reflection of the very last verse(18) that you quoted. Now to answer that verse 18 again which I believe is the only verse that makes it seem like God the son is the same as God the father; I'd say it again that:God the son is the God of everything and everyone in heaven(excluding God the Father), and the God of everyone on earth and in the world below as well. However, that position was given to him by God the Father, after He suffered and was made perfect through all His troubles and obedience. Note that, it was after He had accepted to do God the Father's will by obeying Him even to the point of death that He(Jesus Christ) was now given that position as the God of everything in heaven on earth and in the world below. Then God the Father who gave him that position is now the overall God(God almighty) of everyone including CHRIST JESUS who is God of everyone excluding God the Father...This is good enough I guess

While Elihu, is not God, Jesus, however, is God and as you can see from John 10:33b above, when the opportunity was there for Him to deny that He isn't God, He didnt. This for the good reason that He is God.

while you're correct according to our faith(the Christian faith), that Jesus is God; we must understand that there's a difference between the two I.e God the Father and God the son. while Jesus, who is God the son occupies the position of being the God of everyone and everything in heaven, on earth and the whole below, God the Father on the other hand is the God of everyone and everything including Christ Jesus who is God of everything. Note here that: Jesus is God the son(excluding God the Father who created him and gave Him everything), while God the Father is the overall God(God almighty) of everyone including Christ Jesus

The greatest gift that God has gifted mankind is the ability to have your own mind and the will power to decide and take decisions for yourself. And God will never interfere or take that gift from you. See Romans 11:29. Even though He has the power being that He created you and the world, but He just won't do it.However, He will advice and tell you the truth and the consequences of what you're about to do, but if you insist, He will honour your decision and respect it so that the outcome will purely be what you've decided. See Deuteronomy 30:15. Just as they say; experience is the best teacher.

So, that He has kept quiet, does not mean endorsement. He has allowed you, so that you'll be responsible for the outcome of your decision and also in order not to temper with your right as he has gifted you hitherto. But, know that, you'll be accountable for every action and decision that you've ever made/taken the day He comes to Judge the world. You'll stand against everything you've ever done and be judge by them, whether good or bad. UNLESS you've REPENTED before the D day. The scripture says that: we shall all give account of every foolish word or things we've ever spoken or done. That was why He kept quiet and allowed Abraham's will.

Ans.: we're all one. The same way the christians believe in Christ Jesus and are saved, all should believe in him too and be saved. Last I checked, a christian was a believer first before they believed and began to behave like Jesus Christ. Hence, the name CHRISTIANS. If anyone believes too, they'll become like Jesus Christ by the power of the spirit.That's the only way bro. It's just a matter of understanding that we're all one people, created by one God in his image and likeness. Very true. But the point I was trying to make is that: there's only one way to get to him than the so many other false ways than people belief.

Often time, I've observed and listened with dismay, how we've come to be so sharply polarized and divided as a people who were made and created to co_exist and live as one people; whether Muslims, Christians, Atheists et al. The will of God is for all of us to live as one people. As a matter of fact, we're all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus and God desires that we should live as such;like brothers and sisters that we are by faith in Christ Jesus.

But sadly, we come across each other as ENEMIES. And this is especially so, because of ignorance for some, while for others, it's because of outright defiance to the truth. However, I make bold in this write_up to reveal the truth as regards the will of God for the entire human race. Both whites, Africans, Christians, Muslims, Pagans and others notwithstanding, we're all the children of God and one people by our faith in Christ Jesus. The scripture says: "Christ is all and christ is in all". See Colossians 3:11.

Here's the connection. See this please: Remember Abraham our ancestor. Both the Jews and the Gentiles recognised and have come to settle with him as their FATHER with the only difference being a maternal one I.e depending on the woman that gave birth to them. Either through Abraham and Sarah as JEWS, or through Abraham and Hagar as GENTILES.
However, the JEWS were considered by God as His children Because of ISAAC who was conceived as a result of God's promise to Abraham and Sarah. while the Gentiles, were not so considered the children of God because ISHMAEL who was one of their ancestors through Abraham and Hagar, was born in the usual way but not as a result of God's promise. Hence, they(Gentiles) fell out of God's Mercy and plans and had had to live on their own. See Romans 9:7_8 and Genesis 21:12.

But long after time, God sort to reconcile all the human race back to himself as one people through their faith in Christ Jesus, so that EVERYONE Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Pagan et al will be one and part of the body of Christ Jesus (Church) with Christ as the head. See Colossians 1:18_20.

See Galatians 2:15_16, the Scripture tries to explain in vivid term that, whether JEWS or GENTILES, all are put right with God(saved) by faith .I.e irrespective of affinity to religion, tribe, language or race, everyone is saved and made a child of God by faith only in Christ Jesus. Because all alike have sinned and have fallen short of God's standard, so that only by GRACE through faith in Christ can all of us be saved.

Furthermore, please pay attention to this profound truth in the same Galatians 3 but verses 16 and 19. It says that the promise God made to Abraham was for him(Abraham) and to his descendant. Notice that the descendant here is not in the plural, meaning not to all Abraham's children but to just one of them. Hence, the use of the word 'DESCENDANT' in the singular. So, the logical question here would be that; who is this descendant and what was the promise?.

The descendant is'JESUS CHRIST' and the promise is the'HOLY SPIRIT'. So, God promised to give Abraham a child so that through the power of the holy spirit, Abraham would have a son because of his faith in God Notwithstanding that he(Abraham) was old and couldn't naturally bear a child. But, because he(Abraham) believed, he received the promise of the spirit from God in the form of ISAAC as a son because of his faith. In the same way, we too regardless of who we are, Christians, Muslims, Pagans and others who believe in Christ Jesus, will also receive the promise of the spirit by faith in Him(Christ) just as Abraham did. And to confirm this, see Galatians 4:28, it says,'now, you my brothers and sisters, are God's children because of his promise, just as i saac was'. Meaning that Isaac was a child of God by the holy spirit through Abraham's faith and that we too who believe in Christ Jesus like Abraham did, regardless of who we are, will receive the holy spirit too and become the children of God through Christ Jesus only by our faith in Him.

Finally, I pray that the Lord, will help to register this truth in our hearts and cause us to begin to see ourselves in everyone around us irrespective of religion, tribe, language, race or ethnicity in Jesus' name.Thanks for reading and God bless us all...Shalom!

It is important for us to know that; no one can save us and no any human activity(ies) or ritual(s) can do that neither.

You may want to ask why?: It is so because there's a power in you,an evil power that controls you to live for sin. I.e to obey the law of sin. The power is called 'FLESH' or the 'HUMAN NATURE'. See John 3:6. And we all inherited it from our first father Adam through birth; after he was deceived by the enemy(Satan) to eat the forbidden fruit(evil power). As a result, he failed and became apart from God. See Genesis 3:23_24

Ever since, man is ruled by that demonic power(evil power) to always live in sin and opposed God. This power, is the devil himself(Satan). Hence, for you to be freed from this power, you have to seek for a higher power which in this case is the holy spirit. See Matthew 12:29.

Where Can You Find The Holy Spirit To Help You: This is why Christ Jesus came. God new that, the only way you would be freed from that power(the evil power) that is leading you to sin and death is for you to die, before you could be totally freed from him. See Romans 7:6. But whoever dies with that nature or power in him, such a person will never enter the kingdom of God, such a person cannot stand in His presence in the new age to come. See 1corinthians 15:50. Reason He (God) sent Christ Jesus to come and die for the world to be saved. See John 3:16

So, for those who have been saying that, if He (Jesus) had the power to save the world, why didn't He save himself.
This is the reason: If He had saved himself from dying, You and I would not have been saved. That we're freed from the tyranny,oppression and death today from Satan,was because He chose to die; even the shameful death of the cross. And this, He did for two main reasons:
1) For the root of our sins to be eliminated and taking out of us through the sacrifice of His body. See Hebrew 10:10
2) For our sins to be forgiven both past,present and future sins through His blood that He shed.Romans 3:25.

After hearing the gospel truth(good news) and believe, you'll come to him(Christ Jesus) and accept him in order to be saved. See Revelation 3:20.

You may ask why you have to come to Christ Jesus?: Because He is the only one that has been given the power I.e (the holy spirit) after He died and was raised to glory. He was then given the right and authority by God to give life(eternal life) to those that believe in Him and His gospel message. So, when you confess Him and receive Him, He will send the holy spirit into your heart and that is the higher power you need in order to get rid of that evil power that was controlling and leading you to death through sin before you came to Christ. Because the holy spirit, comes with a power called 'GRACE' which gives you the empowerment and strength to live in holiness the way God wants you to live. See Romans 3:4.

As you continue to live in union with Him(Christ Jesus) through the spirit that is now in you, you'll experience a genuine change of character and attitude in you.

After all this, at this point, you now have the nature of Christ and the potential to become like Him. you're yet to be like Him until you enter into a relationship with Him called 'DISCIPLESHIP RELATIONSHIP', which will make Him reveal Himself to you and will continue to guide you through the power of the spirit that is now in you though undeveloped, until the day He comes(His second coming) to lead you to the Father.

Will right about this 'DISCIPLESHIP RELATIONSHIP' you need to enter with Him in order to grow and know Him better next time.

However, note that: this is a spiritual reality that has been done and dusted in the spiritual realm. Hence, the reason He said; it was finished on the cross before He died in John19:30. I.e everything needed for your salvation is finished and accomplished. However, You can only experience this if you hear the gospel message and believe in Him(Jesus Christ), you'll come to Him and be saved. The reason he said; whoever that
comes unto me, I will not otherwise cast out(rejected).

Finally, verily_verily I say unto you: unless you do this, you will never enter the kingdom of God and the devil will continue to lord it over you till he completely destroys you. Be blessed brethren... Shalom!
