Politics › Re: Buhari To SkyNews: 'Yes' Nigeria Is Corrupt (Video) by kingGoldust(m): 8:44am On May 12, 2016 |
Mutuwa: I de tell you
Yes, Nigeria is fantastically corrupt and it is not Cameron's original statement. It is Buhari's original statement. And it is very correct. Tell me that you do not feel so about schools organizing for their children to cheat through WAEC, or lecturers demanding sex for points from female students, of parents buying admission and grades in universities, or cash payment for employment. What do you feel when you watch that policeman receive money from the hackney cab driver in front of you and shoves it quickly into his pocket, waving you to pass because you are a witness? In which facet of national life today do we not see fantastic corruption? How many criminals are honorable men in chambers of our legislature?
Some of the cases that on going probes have turned up are bizarre, and make us laugh a cry - don't you feel like throwing up when you see that men who ought to have offered counsel to President Good luck Jonathan to buy weapons for the war on Boko Haram turned round instead to collect and share money meant for purchase of arms? And even as we talk, foreign donors have audited donations of $3.8m dollars meant to fight HIV and related radical infections like TB and have come with the damning conclusion that Nigerians stole the money corruptly? Our justice system keeps high profile corruption suspects out of prison by technicalities purchased with cash, and the poor go to prison for a stolen bowl of soup, where they meet suspects who serve terms awaiting trial - or are unable to meet bail conditions? No, say it loud. Nigeria IS fantastically corrupt. We only need to admit it and change. It needs not be so.

papparatzzi2013: I can remember a Clueless president, the Mandela of Otuoke that ran the most divisive campaign in the history of Nigeria. He divided us along ethnic and religious lines, just because of his re-election.
He happily sow the seed of discord and the people that were fanning the ember for him then, are reaping it in bountiful measures now.
May we never have such a Clueless and Corrupt President again in this country. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Amen oo |
Politics › Re: Buhari Ruling Nigeria With Medieval Mindset, Says Prof Utomi by kingGoldust(m): 9:19am On May 10, 2016 |
fiizznation: In one sentence he said he wrote APC's manisfesto for them and in another sentence he criticised the APC's "medieval manisfesto". Even a juvenile knows that any new government come with their economic blueprint. Obama did it when he came onboard, David Cameron isn't left out either. The problem with pessimistic personalities like this respected professor is that they believe so much in western Theologue, while forgetting that the Africa economic environs is entirely different.
If I should ask a person like utomi what he think will work best for our developing economy, you will hear him calling America, Germany or UK. These set of people don't understand the African economy to the best of my knowledge. I read a book about macro economics which was written by a person like utomi, gosh I just had to drop the book because the writer just wrote hogwash and was making baseless comparisons. He didn't understood the simple basic economics of African nations. I don't just know why but when it comes to economy matter, I don't take the likes of utomi any serious. You are right man ,you get brain |

Morizo: My take on this bears on historical facts. Buhari has been more Nigerien than Nigerian. He voted for Niger's candidate against a Nigerian for a post in the International platform while as a sitting Military Head of State. So this is no coincidence. Over 40% of Fulani Northerners are originally from Niger, Futa Jallon, Timbuktu etc. You don't have a good point man |

eyesofgod: One would have naturally questioned the sanity of the lawmakers in this instance but then in a system where the opposition parties have gone into self induced hibernation till next election people like Fayose will be thrown up as a stop gap. He is fearless no doubt, but that is due to his motor park mentality. Isolate him and he will melt like butter. I doubt if he will be an asset to PDP in the long run because he is too crude; a complete street guy. Such character is what the party should tame or avoid if it really wants to re-brand.
