Nigeria@59 and the Foreign rice which we used to eat and was banned for the sole purpose of us consuming our "locally made rice" is now 2000 Naira for a Paint Bucket (which used to be 1200 - 1250 Naira before border closure). And " Our Locally Made Rice" is now 1700 Naira for a paint bucket (5 and half derica). I don't understand!!! Shouldn't the price of our so called "locally made rice" be affordable to every citizen and thus promote it and gradually eradicate the foreign rice? Rice is gradually becoming food for the rich. And someone will tell me it's not the GOVERNMENT that is to be blamed but the Nigerian Citizen? I'm not a fan of political party but it's only true to say that the since this government entered power, the masses have not been smiling. The few that smile and laugh are the ones benefiting from the people in this present government. Someone will take 15k to the market and automatically turn to human calculator talking to himself/herself at one corner of the market trying to figure out if money was lost. And later he or she will see that every Kobo was accounted for. And one human being will tell me that the government is working for a "better" Nigeria? That we must suffer now to get to a better Nigeria because the past government has eaten all the money meant for the upkeep of the Nigerian Citizen? And the best way to start with this next level movement is by ensuring the citizens don't get the basic amenities such as "Food"? Abeg someone should help me with how the maths works. If it's not the leaders in government that is to be blamed, then can someone tell me what is the difference between Nigeria and Dubai (U.A.E). We all have our part to play truth be told but there has to be a trunk that aids the holding of the branches which in turn aids in holding the fruits and the leaves before we can call it a tree. There has to be a Head before we can call it a body. Else a body without the Head is a "Headless Body". |
Another Krest Again? ![]() |

Nna go an sit down and read what you typed down then, read the bolded of what i typed down and see which life is life. Thank me later. |
Yes |
King44:You're very right. And it seems we're "kinda" doing that but (and it's a BIG BUT), the FG has to do this without any iota of COMPROMISE and SENTIMENT. Is this absolutely possible? |
King44:Bros, the local brand rice are not yet of high quality as you think. Have you consumed it lately? Yes I quite agree that one should patronize his or her locally made products as this is what aids the development of a country. But ask yourself, is Nigeria really there yet? Regarding the rice ban and smuggling into the country, I will appreciate if the FG had put things in place to ensure that the locally made rice matches the quality of the foreign rice. Afterall, the foreign rice is more consumed not because of it's name "Foreign" but because of the taste. As much as we want to deny this fact, most of us know that the foreign rice tastes quite better than the locally made rice. And this really should not be this way. The FG can implement a "strict monitoring team" to ensure that we get a much more healthy and pleasant rice that is quite good to consume and produced in large quantity that can accommodate much more to consume. Provide the National Association of Rice Producers the adequate funds and support it needs to ensure this is done and let them "Honestly" use these funds for the right purpose and we will see a positive change in the right direction to development. While growing up, I used to know how good the Abakaliki rice used to be. What happened then? Let me guess, not much support from the government or rather, parasitic heads placed in positions they shouldn't have been over the years fed on the funds allocated for this purpose. And as much as this government wants to put us into "the right direction" with strict polices such as the closure of borders, they need to spray the insecticide inside the house and close the doors in other to kill the mosquito parasites within. Imagine if Dangote (and his likes) was given the opportunity to go into rice production in mass. Don't you think there will be a difference? So far so good, his spaghetti, macaroni, sugar, salt and other consumable goods produced by him has to an extent matched the foreign counterparts. This is "locally made". Imagine what will happen if other major locally made rice producers follow suit. Who will complain? Someone said something about security being curbed to an extent since the closure of the boarders. This to an extent is true. But like I said, "to an extent". Baba has a plan this I know for sure but he needs good advisers that will make his plan work. May God Bless The Federal Republic Of Nigeria and bring back the Giant (in all areas) in us. |
Quiet zone, Youths Emigrating, Earthquake Prone area, Old People making more of the population there now, Despite the Old Houses and Wonderful Snowy Mountains yet, very little tourist attraction, Total population not up to ALIMOSHO Local government, Not one "birth" was recorded last year, Sudden change of government to give monetary incentives to indigenes and foreigners...... SOMETHING DOESN'T ADD UP. |
Balenciagabrain:Exactly my thoughts. Mandela now would be like "Oh my God, did I do a mistake to allow this for the sake of peace?" Winnie, right now will be like " I told Nelson but he didn't listen. I'm glad my group is still in power fighting for the total freedom and oppression from this white foreigners". Take it or leave it, the Whites are the fuel in this blaze that is beginning to seem unquenchable. |
