Joezinho: Rohr's team would have reached the semis of this AFCON, meaning they would've beaten Tunisia and BF but I can't say they would've defeated Senegal.
Senegal currently has 7 UCL players. Significantly more than any other nation in the AFCON. They simply have better talent right now and should win this cup hands down if they can handle the shenanigans and dirty tricks that Egypt will bring. Would we have topped the group to meet Tunisia in the round of 16 when we don't have players in the mould of Salah in our team? I don't know why most of us are not considering the possibility of us ending second in the group to have met the opponents that the Egyptians met in the later stages. I'm sure we would have left in the group stage with the absence of all the key players we have. Our opposition in the group stage now was tougher than 2019 yet we ended second in the group. |

komekn: Moussa Dembélé is the first truly outstanding beyond comparison youth footballer I watched up close and personal.
Fulham had brought him in from PSG at about the age of 15/16. He was head and shoulders above everybody at the time .
When he wanted to leave Fulham he had numerous EPL clubs trying to sign him. But he chose Celtic.
At one stage Chelsea put in a bid for £50million and he decided to stay at Celtic and develop. He was outstanding in French league one and has been a consistent top goal scorer throughout his career.
Until he went to Athletico Madrid, a very defensive side that l don't think plays to his strengths.
Are you really calling him a Carpenter ❓ But I thought you're of the view that players should play to the club's strength as against the club playing to the player's strength? So what actually changed? Is it here and now too? I sincerely want to you. |

What will this govt do to satisfy Nigerians? The same man that shared the pics have over 100 colored pictures without a single black and white and the only picture he could get for the paddy rice was what was bought by his paddi paddi. Well what do I know. The next few days will tell if it wasn't even gotten for display to be returned back after a period of time. |

zuchyblink: The three remaining teams that are likely to win the AFCON all have their experienced players in the squad. We will continue to be under achievers if we continue Fielding inexperienced players. There is no continuity in SE. Our experienced guys retire too early. Sometimes they are disrespected either by coaches or fans. Imagine what Okoye would have learnt from Enyeama? Were we the ones that retired Enyeama? See if you de talk, de make better point. You don de shout experience experience, which experienced players we for carry go AFCON? |

mfm04622: As someone said?
Any proof?
Even if they bought it from market, it was produced in Nigeria! This is paddy rice, not processed rice. So it can't be imported. This is what Nigerian farmers produced. It is being taken to millers for processing from that place Before I'd answer you properly, get me the colored pictures of what's going on there and we'd talk. Till then, enjoy your day. |

Barryseal: If you out it that way, Jonathan David currently has the same goal and assists as Osimhen at the same point the season Osimhen played. So how is Osimhen better than him? Did you hear me say he is better than him? I was only correcting his season and that's all. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by kingphilip(m): 6:33am On Jan 30, 2022 |
Barryseal: Out of curiosity, what really makes you think Osimhen is better than Jonathan David? He replaced Osimhen in Lille and helped them win Ligue 1 last season. Currently he is the top goal scorer in the French league with 13 goals half way through the season. The same number of goals Osimhen scored the season he was sold. What exactly sets Osimhen apart from him? I think we over estimate our players so much to the detriment of the competition, it's almost disrespectful at times. Just to tell you that the bold is not entirely correct. The season wasn't completed so you can't call it the season as if it is the entire season. |

Beloved03: Eguavon was taken to the cleaners too easily by the Tunisian team. It was glaring that the wings were not working.
But then like you said, he barely had time to prepare for the AFCON and there honestly has not been enough games to assess him with.
The problem is that if he continues and qualifies us for the world cup, it would be a risk because we don't have enough info on his technical capability based on the few games. We only know that he can set the team up to play adventorous football.
To be honest I would rather we draft in Peseiro after Egu qualifies us. At least Peseiro is a proven coach with some pedigree. That way we would be reducing the risk of having an unassessed coach lead us to the world cup. So how will you assess the Peseiro? With the world cup proper? |
