Wow, thanks for this comprehensive reply, I have tried to clear those code which do come back after driving. Recently I took the car to Benz mechanic he removed the MAF sensor clean and fitted,Issue remain. I think I will have to consider replacing the throttle/pedal sensor. Pls is the throttle body different from throttle pedal?
Also this code P0453( Evaporative Emission System pressure sensor/switch high. Pls do u know where this sensor is located on the c240 w203?

BMW iand Benz are expensive to maintain but truth be told they are good machines . Very stable and rugged on the road. They hardly somersault during accidents .Also thieves wont disturb you much if you go for German cars . [s]And when you enter those cars and handle the steering you will notice the difference immediately[/s] . Toyota cars are very light and common. Mechanic do know how to manipulate them and that is why they steal them easily also.. I went for German because of this reason.. They are for those who value good and great product difference.

The Car has been scanned with the following fault code according to the picture attached

You have P0121 which is throttle position sensor A range performance. Your throttle pedal sensor is failing or sensing a wrong signal to the throttle body & ECM. You should try doing the throttle pedal/throttle body reset. Then if it doesn't work, replace throttle pedal. But, before you finally decide to purchase another throttle pedal, check that the wirings aren't pinched, check front SAM isn't soaked with water and that the throttle body is okay and not jammed.


You also have P0300, P0301, P0303. Those are random cylinder misfire, cylinder 1 and cylinder 3 misfires respectively. Ensure you check your Spark Plugs, coils, injectors and also the coil wires. You may decide to swap the coils then clear codes and rescan.

most German cars are complex for our mechanics to understand when compared to the Japanese counterparts,so its easier to fix an accord or corolla or civic or Camry than a Benz or bimmer to an average mechanic in Nigeria,then secondly the electrical set up of most German cars is also a pain in the a*s to our rewires here,like I've always said,I won't drive Japanese car if I'm outside Nigeria,but to save myself the stress I will pick the jap mobile when I de naija,so in summary no be say German cars no make sense o,just that our environment no favor dem..lol

Whether in Nigeria or In US, Canada, Japan, UK, etc, BMW makes some of the most unreliable cars around. Is it the plastic components that degrades over time, or the on board computer that develops glitches here and there?
Is it the complexity of their repairs and pricy replacement parts?

A Japanese brand on the other hand keeps things simple. A Toyota or Honda plastic component can stay as if it was just out of factory whearas, its up to 19years old in the sun and cold, wet and dry. They have way lesser number of on board sensors and monitors and control modules and this is actually gonna make them less prone to break down. Toyota car plants world wide has the most efficient and effective production process called 'Kaizen', which translates to mean 'Continuous Improvement' where any operator, technician can stop the flow if he/she notices even the sightest deviation from the quality specified on the production and they'll not be queried for doing so by any senior staff. This form of production will always allow for the strictiest quality control, and In turn, give rise to the high level of efficiency and reliability of Toyota and Lexus brands.

Hint. It's actually cheaper to own and run a BMW in Nigeria compared to EU or US because of price of labour and prices of parts.

Yes you're right, but hey, it's a free world, we are in a free market economy. Seller is free to put any price tag he deems fit, potential buyers are also at liberty to bargain anyhow they deem fit too. That said, market forces, depreciation, wear and tear, will ultimately determine if the car stays in the market for long or not.

Hello, pls I will really appreciate anyone that can help to quickly fix this issue with my Mercedes Benz C240 W203, 2002. The car run fine but after like 10 to 15mins drive on slowing down due to traffic, it delays like (5 to 10secs) in responding or accelerating while matching the throttle.I have changed the fuel pump due to this yet issue still persist. Have you checked your suspension bushings, strut bushing, brake pads anti rattle pins, your ball joints, and brake dust shield?

As much as I would had love to get this car but it's unfortunate that this swap took place. Too many things to consider, the integrity of the factory wiring, the integrity of the cooling, ECU, transmission, immobiliser, and all others.

Can we see the engine bay of that car pls?
Also, what's with that huge big blocked off section on the bonnet. I thought its an intake vent.

Am talking of handling while driving esp on speed.Not what you listed above,just say the truth.was so disappointed the way it was rolling like pangolo despite the shocks being changed already some weeks back.And when you mean safety,how is the muscle more safer when it feels so lighter and looks like it wants to tumble off the ground and keeps bouncing since it doesn't hold stability better than the accord Eod while travelling on speed

I don't think is small margin sir,I don own the two rides in question of different generations, the handling get small gap no be small bros,and I know the suspension system in both for sure,the double wishbone found in the accord that that somehow plays a role in the K-leg saga,really compensated the accord in terms of handling big time,when negotiating bends on certain speed range, that's when the effect of the 'Margin' is felt the most

I don't attribute sporty handling of the accord or any FWD honda to be better by miles when compared to any Toyota. They're boring. If you wanna do handling, why not compare it to a Mercedes, a bmw, a Subaru with symmetrical awd or even an infiniti?

The Honda handling is only marginally better than the camry. But when you have a camry with very good suspension especially the SE models then that margin closes very considerably to become a tie.



Fact, Honda never advertised or designed their accord to be superior and sporty in handling and driving dynamics. They designed and advertised them as a family sedan for everyday use.

you right,Honda beats Toyota by a margin when it comes to such areas, with emphasis by a margin.

when we talk about handling, the Honda beats the camry by a small margin because of its suspension setup.
It has multilink suspension with double wishbone up front and multilink suspension at the rear, this makes it handle better and feel planted whilst driving, while the camry has McPherson struts on all 4 corners. The McPherson favours more plush comfy ride depending on the tuning of the shocks.

Depends on what you mean by whack and poor.

When the MRSP of both are compared, the Camry is more expensive. Technology wise, it is ahead by a slight margin, safety wise ahead by a considerable margin, aesthetics, the Accord is strong but the camry especially the SE and XLE still beats it. Luxury too.

Please my 2007 MB B200 doesn't accelerate when I step on the throttle, it's sluggish. I bought it last month as Toks. When it was delivered to me at my base, the driver who brought it said I should top up the ATF, that it's low. I did, thinking that was the cause of the issue, but nothing has changed. You need to replace the Electronic Load Detector relay after thoroughly and carefully checking that all other electrical contact points and electrical components such as Alternator, AC and eve the ECM and its own programming are within specs.

What recent thing or repairs did you do to the car to pop up such code?
It must be done by a competent technician tho.

I complained here earlier that my 05 accord doesn’t move while on D only on reverse, but if I leave the car on and it get warm it’ll pick while on d and any other gears, so I called a gear expert to check it today, he said I need to change the gear clutch, pls could that be the cause of the problem?

Wow, it ain't easy at all, it weakens my very soul that all I've worked for have really gone and no way of making ends meet for now.

Do I regret bringing another being into this world? Perhaps I do when I'm down and emotionally at my lowest but I've learnt to be strong atleast for my kid.
