It's not a routine maintenance part, but Toyota motor corporation says its a wear item (which I personally find funny but truthful).

I have successfully restored SRS to factory state, and the airbag/SRS light is now off.

This is true but will work if and only if your ABS, brake, Traction control system, steering and steering angle sensor are good. If they're faulty, then this won't work.

That said, thumbs up to you for posting this adaptation method for bmws

It's a good truck. I maintain a fleet of 2018 trucks which a basically same thing other than the 2.7l i4 option in 2010 or 4.0l V6. They're serious work horses, very reliable. Take care of her she's gonna be loyal. You only need to watch out for suspension rattles, fluids and brake pads as normal service items especially when you do pass thru very terrible terrains regularly. That said they're rugged than the average suv out there.

1st code has to do with intake manifold, the others will need a, live scan and a fuel pressure test.

It doesn't resolve the problem. That's what you don't understand. In some more complex cars, that act can damage, shut down /disable parts or components.

So what I did that gave a solution to same problem I had is "shoddy" as you said?
That process resets/clears errors from the ECU, then if it shows up after reseting means it's a serious problem.

Try this with cars with some very dangerous codes or cars with more temperamental electronics and unforgiving computers, when you finally disable the car, then, you'd understand better.

No need quoting you cos you obviously have no idea what car troubleshooting or repairs is.

The BEST solution is to disconnect your battery terminals and reconnect after 5mins.

That you do thus doesn't mean everybody should emulate your shoddy practice when it comes to vehicle repairs. Pls, if you can't advice properly, and in a manner that won't cause harm/damage, quit advicing.

I'm sorry it's not about cutting corners. I didn't complain about cost of maintaining a car. Money is not the problem. I explained I hardly spend time with the car and hardly drive it. I only pay for maintenance or run errands on weekend. Not everyone has hours to spend at a mechanic workshop. Anyways, it's Nigeria. I've learnt the hard way that I'm supposed to be a mechanic myself and then embark on a search for a honest mechanic that knows his stuff. Lack of knowledge is why I'm here sha. If you have any advice for me concerning the car issue, I will appreciate it.

I believe I never asked you to sit and police your technician; at least not in my response to you. I aslo never suggest you become a mechanic too.

Fact its, most car owners prefer cutting corners than to do the right thing. It takes very stubborn unweilding hardened upright determined mindset to do the right thing for most car owners.
