Hope you know Honda founder was once a supplier of piston rings to Toyota? This was before he founded Honda motor corporation. As for issues with Nissan, they are always competing. Just as Benz Audi and BMW does. Same goes for how Ford, GMC and Cadillac competes. |

sheantip: I got diff psi on tire and on car itself. which do u advice I go for? The car has a factory calculated curb weight, gross vehicular weight, front axle weight, rear axle weight, drive configuration type and suspension characteristics plus top speed. All these are calculated by the car manufacturer before they recommend the best Cold air Pressure for your tyres. The best is for you to adhere to your car mandated cold air pressure. |

TheAlchemist: Is it only over inflation of air, what of the problem of wrong screwing of the nuts... i am still in shock that a vulcanizer could improperly screw 2 Nuts out of 5 Nuts wrongly, while fixing back my tyre.... when i had a flat tyre i was informed that two of the nuts was not aligned with the thread on the bolt, lucky they managed to unscrew one but could not unscrew the second, because, it had melted to the bolt, on the disk plate, so they had to condemn one of the bolt... i was advised to see a panel beater to weld another bolt, on the disk plate. You don't weld studs. You install same type same size by driving it into the bearing on that wheel affected. Welds will break off again later. |

kolajoo: Nice pieces of info and exactly what caused my accident on my way going to Ekiti from Lagos. Front tyre busted on Ilesha road due too much pressure with what vulcanizer pump before i commence on the journey. It was a crazy experience and i thank God for gift of life. You went for the brakes immediately the tyre blew hence the rollover. Next time, (which I do NOT pray for) don't go anywhere near the brakes, instead, push the accelerator harder while holding the steering firmly and staying calm then ease off the throttle pedal. The accelerative force will negate any lateral force acting upon the vehicle to swerve in either left or right till it balances and starts a rapid slow down |

In Abuja I tell you, you'd buy 5S-FE with complete assessories (excluding AC compressor) for 60k. Direct Belgium. I know what I am talking about. legendsilver: *Vulcanizers in Nigeria are killing people*
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO ALL VEHICLE USERS!
Good day sir/ma. Many people have been wondering what could be the cause of the incessant tyre burst accidents on Nigerian roads. The major cause is that we put too much pressure in our tyres. How did I know?
I was preparing for a journey, I changed some of my tyres and I asked the vulcanizer thated tyre pressure?' He said 50. I said alright, he should inflate it to 50 all round.
When I got to where I was going, I was discussing with some people on the issue of the minister that died on the road due to a burst tyre and wonder what could have happened because nobody could imagine a minister would be travelling with expired tyres as many would think is the major cause of tyre bursts.
A man (lived in US for many years) said that the major cause of tyre burst in Nigeria is that we put too much pressure in our tyres and that each car has recommended tyre size and pressure clearly written on it by the manufacturer.
*I was surprised and begged him to come and show me where it's written on my car. To my greatest surprise, it's by the drivers door which I enter everyday without noticing it.*
By the time we checked, the recommended pressure for my tyres is 32! and I just traveled with tyres on a pressure of 50! He took me round his compound and showed me that of the cars (which includes a jeep and a sienna) there, the highest was 32. Some were even 29!
He further explained that tyres are made of rubber and expand at high temperature. So, when you are travelling in the afternoon when the asphalt on the road is hot, the tyre will want to expand. If the pressure in the tyre is too much and wouldn't accommodate the expansion, a burst is likely to happen at that time.
Pls check the recommended tyre pressure for your vehicle and others you know.
As many as possible Nigerians need to read this. thanks
Seun, lalastica, ishiluv and all the other mod pls let's save life here o by doing the needful Quite an informative topic I'd say. But, I'd put it that its NOT the vulcanizers who does the evil. Its the ignorant car owner who risks his/her life. Nigerians can buy and drive a car without looking at the owners manual and/or reading the various Health and Safety regulatory warning stickers placed on their cars. Nigerians can buy tyres without due considerations to the intended use of such tyres, can buy mono directional tyres and mount it on their cars in the wrong direction and now you'd blame the vulcanizer? |

NgcoboP: you are very wrong sir.... a corolla is an entry level executive sedan... Its never marketed as an entry level executive sedan. Its a compact car (hatchback, sedan, wagon) by EPA classifications, its also an economy car and a family car by intended design aim. |

royallord1: BENZ IS CHEAPER TO MAINTAIN BRAKE PADS ARE ALMOST THE SAME PRICE.. But the benz hub and brake disc is more cheaper the engine of the camry now is about 120k here without the gearbox while the benz engine and auto gearbox is not more than 110k...with manual gear box its abt 65k... benz shock absorber is cheaper and tends to last longer than brandnew camry shock... fuel consumption the difference is not noticeable.... a/c i would give the camry... (but u meet top shape benz ac even for hot sun the glass go gather water) durability benz wins it.. less mechanic visit on a benz body parts are generally cheaper.... benz complete door goes for about 13k while the camry door excluding engine lifter is about 15k...infact the door handles alone cost abt 6k. benz body is more tougher than the camry.. you just feel that complete german technology uniqueness and difference in a benz compared to the weak bodied and japan cost cutting built camry... my humble opinion and yes the 1999 c class benz cost about the same as the camry... or about a 100k cheaper You be spare parts dealer? Complete engine in that Camry is 60k in Abuja, transmission is 50k. The body parts of that Camry us cheaper to buy and is very durable. Its only weakness are its bland nature and very soft tuned suspensions. |

Sorry, tell your mechanic to tune up your car carburettor. If he can't, be prepared to buy another working carburettor. Pls, use only same type of carburettor. |

2. What can I do to stop the leak? there's no malfunction code, I've not had to top up oil since I noticed the leak and the car drives well.
3. I've used MOBIL XHP for maintenance twice prior to that I've maintained LUBEX OIL could it be the change in oil grade?
