I've got a metallic black coloured INFINITI FX35 registered for sale in Abuja. Owner bought the car brand new and shipped it in from USA, used it for 3 years and discontinued using it due to availability of other cars at his disposal hence his reason for sale.
NOTE: this SUV is cleaner than most tokunbo out there and NO single CEL or squeaks from the engine, transmission or other parts, paint job is still excellent and no need to respray, dashboard is free of cracks and bubbles, leather upholstery is still clean with very little crack on driver seat, brand new 20' perfirmance tyres all round.

good morning. please i have a Benz c230 kompressor 4 plug 2003 that has a poor acceleration. I will have to push the pedal completely down to the floor to make it move. I have changed complete fuel pump and new plugs no improvement. my Mech now says I should change the airflow meter and throttle body. scanned but no codes. should I go ahead to change them?

Check the MAF ensure the maf has no air leakages from the joints, and arrest the cause of oil contamination. Try cleaning the MAF thoroughly with appropriate MAF cleaners, and install properly with sockets attached properly. When you do, carry out a MAF/throttle pedal relearn procedure. If MAF is still unresponsive, replace MAF with a working MAF.

NOTE: some Audi/VW has MAF similar in shape and dimension to a W203, but they're NOT compatible beware of fake cloned MAF.

Good evening Nairalanders, please I need a guide, my honda odessy 2003, whenever the engine is on, even without engaging the gear, the D (drive Light) keeps blinking and am scared of driving it. Please what should I do. Someone said it a switch, others say the geat oil is short but I have top the gear oil with 2 liters.

tpms light can be triggered by a number of factors such as over/under inflated tyres, in all plus spare tyres, broken tpm sensor, foot brake switch malfunction (i know a number of toyota & lexus has a tsb for that issue) or just a false tpms alarm. Early morning before driving, check your tyre pressure and when youre done, press the tpms reset button for 3 seconds, and drive off over 40km/h for some minutes so the system relearns the new input. If the sensor is broken, youd need a brand new OEM sensor that hasnt been programmed before, then programme it to work with your car.

As for the p0441, have you had any cause to tamper fuel pump, or fuel system assy?
Your evap is having issue, give to an experienced auto technician to handle it for you. If youre in Lagos, contact Gazzuzz 08023251039, if youre in Abuja, contact mike on 07034581213.

denso or NGK O2 sensors cost approx 30,000-40,000 brand new in Abuja specifically.

Since I am less busy and bored staying at home, I decided I needed to go out and see what the world looks like. So my first stop was at the licensing office at sura lagos since it was closer to me.

I got there around 3:00pm after making sure I finished my bowl of garri and nasco biscuit to sustain me since am too lazy to cook (No be my fault nah economy cause am).

Chai which one is bring car for inspection, are they going to scan it. Well, I left and promised to come back when I don hustle the money. I still have 2weeks left before my expiry deadline.

Today, I told my brother in law who has always been doing it for me and he said, at the vio office his car was rejected Road worthy because he had a cracked wind shield, even the vio boss promised to help him with 5k out of 15k to fix the wind shield if he went and fixed it, the guy just run comot.

So I went to an autoreg centre personally today, had to waste 1:30mins cause the Personnel in charge went to get materials. Paid for licensing at #2500, insurance at #5000, went to the vio office around panti yaba and they said I need to bring the car before they can certify it Road worthy. I just pack my legs and went home, hoping to continue another day.

My friend's 08 Accord transmission has been acting up lately. Up and down shift between 1-2 gives a big thud. I checked and the gear oil had been short and he drove it for a while in this condition. I encouraged him to replace with DW1 ATF oil to full guage which we did but didnt change a thing.

I have not been in Abj for 2 weeks now and will be in a week or so. He had changed a sensor but the problem persist. I wish to get him your contact for diagnosis if you can drop it.

Avoid that peugeot, if you're using a C class as a student, in sure you've got some cash. But I'd advice you avoid American specs do a German spec and avoid a C230 kompressor or a 7 Gtroniv in early models C class.

the engine flush could av damage some oil seals. if it smokes only after being parked for some and later disappear it may be weak valves oil seals need changing. if it smokes when climbing or on low gears it may be worn rings, may ring the engine by highly competent and honest meco.

Ringing the engine (Engine rebuild) isn't a bad idea in the real sense because you get an engine that is back to great working condition. Problem is how do you get OEM rebuild kits and not some cheap chinko materials which after say, 3-6 months, you're back to square 1 again with over 20-30k spent?

Let a competent mechanic check and confirm. If its confirmed your engine needs replacement, replace with same engine type as installed in your car.

I left the car for over a month without driving it and I just changed the engine oil, oil filter, even before I changed it the mechanic asked me to used engine flush so I did, and after changing the oil with our Nigerian mobile oil, I used abro oil treatment as the mechanic said but my car still smoke and bluish color smoke when I stop the car from moving maybe because of traffic and Then accelerate to move again .. it's very unpleasant because my car is still very clean with good body and I'm a young guy and it worry me to see my car smoke .. and when I open the engine oil cover I'll see a "gold-like" color around the cap of the cover and also I observed that when I bring out the oil gauge to check the oil, I will see some white stuffs around the gauge (this whitish stuffs looks exactly like all those white stuffs that you find under some quality vegetable or groundnut oils when are kept in a cold environment for long)

please brothers help .. I really don't want to waste money on this ... if it's something I can fix or I should get a new engine ..

Bad news because it means the engine is burning oil. Check your valve seals, valve seal guides, piston rings or cylinder.
If its confirmed to be piston rings or cylinder, pls no waste time ring that engine, its a waste of cash, instead buy a tokunbo engine.

It shouldn't be dark. It is supposed to be reddish, it's needs to be serviced. A knowledgeable mechanic can change the oil and wash the filter like once in a year. Oando ATF is a good product. For the engine oil, Mobil xhp 1000, or better still if you want to go synthetic; Mobil 1 is an awesome choice. Used on my 300 and now my 350.

Don't try this in a Toyota or lexus, OP stick to the recommended ATF I suggested for you. It might be expensive, but its cheaper than buying another gearbox and paying for installation.
Don't even think of such Engine oil called Mobil XHP.
Now let's run a quick maths
Mobil XHP 1000 is NGN3500 x 6months = 21,000
But an average 5W30 is circa 8,000-13,000 and you're using it for 5,000miles or 6,months. Now which is more cheaper?

I recently bought RX300 and discovered that the gear oil is dark. The engine oil is also dark. My friends were advising me to only change the engine oil and leave out the ATF. Pls is the gear oil supposed to be dark? Should i proceed with the 2 maintenance.
Pls what make of ATF and engine oil is recommended for Rx300.

Genuine toyota ATF Type T-iV is your Lexus recommended ATF. The Engine oil is Full synthetic 5W30.

Hello good people, I own a 2006 Toyota Corolla Which I've used from new for 10 years now and about 330,000km. The car is still very strong, but I feel I'd like to renew. I'm thinking of getting the 1ZZ FE complete Tokunbo engine, and also OEM suspensions for the car. Does anyone know any location where I can buy direct tokunbo, not canibalised engine and the cost of these components. I'm in Abuja but willing to carry out the project in Lagos. Thanks all.

Oga Mike, thank you oh. My cousin told me he brought the Toyota Yaris to your workshop for diagnoses to determine the root cause why the car overheated. He said your Diagnoste tools could only detect faulty ABS sensor. Thank you for also adjusting her brakes and restoring her speedometer.
Though the root cause of why the car overheated still remains a mystery but am cool with the advice you gave him/her.

i hail thee, thanks for your patronage and also the referrals.
I plugged in my diagnostics device into the car, it couldn't connect to ECU or read the ECU. It was only able to read the ABS, i used another device again, still same thing hence my inability to detect the issue. However, the brakes needed attention cos they had a squishy spongy feel hence my intervention. I have instructed him on what to do as regards the car.

Modified: that Toyota yaris is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) specs yaris and doesn't use a traditional OBD2 protocol, rather it uses Toyota's proprietary M-OBD (Multiplex On Board Diagnostics)
