Good day everyone, I noticed something with my car. I was driving on the highway yesterday and immediately I hit 40mph. The car started jerking and it slowed down and the acceleration wasn’t hitting again until I had to park turn off ignition and on. And the moment it hit 40mph. The check engine light begins to blink.

I recently collected the car from a mechanic workshop. It was hit by the side but everything seem to be fine before I gave him.

You have a misfire. One or more of your plug, injector or coil or a combination of any or all of them can cause such issue. Scan and post codes here so we know what to advice you on.

This Honda car won’t start when it gets very hot if I turn it off maybe to buy fuel and try to start again. Makes this draggy sound like the battery is too low to turn the starter. Starter has been changed, neutral/ground wires have been cleaned but issue persists.

If you get another good well charged battery to start the car, does it have same issue?
Take measurements of the battery voltage, start the car and it’s running, take measurements of the charging voltage. Let me know what you’re dealing with.

My car won't go in Reverse, I spoke to my mechanic who says it's Gear issues, it was removed and I took it to ladipo in Oshodi area of Lagos, this was fixed and coupled Back in the car by a gear master, same problem again, apparently it didn't work. What could be the problem of the car not reversing, this guys are just eating money, should I just buy a new gear, I don't have the funds for it

Hi all, I have an 04 nissan altima that's starting to use a lot of oil. it smokes (bluish white) when I start it after it's been parked for long, it also smokes under heavy acceleration or when I accelerate suddenly showing oil is burning, my mechanic is suspecting a worn cylinder or rings, but I know quite a number of things could be causing this...No error codes when scanned, PCV checked and works fine, drives fine, getting a bit sluggish to acceleration beyond 80km/hr with oil burning smell as I think oil is beginning to clog the exhaust....

Any idea beyond what the mechanic has suggested?

I have scanned and got the the P03000 misfire code.

My mechanic have checked the plugs and the ignition coils and says they are okay.

How do I solve this problem?

You may carry out throttle relearn by removing battery terminals for some minutes, then reinstalling it, start the car, keep the car idling with throttle at 2,000-2,500 rpm till radiator fans come on.

For P0430, you may wish to purchase another catalytic converter or remove the old broken catalytic converter contents from the manifold.

It’s part of your I-vtec. You may need to check if your oil is dirty or low, then get fresh oil and filter. Remove that part and clean the screen and that sensor using appropriate cleaners. Afterwards, you need to install it back in reverse order after-which you will have to clear codes and take car for a spin to test it.

Good afternoon @Kingreign, please i used about 45 litres of petroleum for a journey of about 394 kilometer, without AC. The car is Toyota Avensis 2010 automatic. With the same litres of petrol i cover about 500 kilometers on Honda Accord 2000 model manual without AC too.

Is my Toyota over consuming fuel? The catalytic converter on the Avensis was broken and even blocked the exhaust which my panel beater had to remove. Should i go ahead and replace the catalytic converter to save money on fuel? Or is the fuel consumption normal?

For Lexus Es350 2007 that does not have dip stick for the gear box, how can one know if the transmission fluid is over filled?

A special 6”hex bolt under the transmission area needs to be unbolted and the car brought to started. When the car reaches a certain temperature (80-95°C) and you notice it drips ATF from that bolt hole then it’s over filled. If it does not, you need to top up ATF. To top up, remove drivers side tyre and locate a bolt labeled WS and top up as instructed by workshop manual.

Yes, but ensure it’s NOT black colour before you change it. Also, use genuine appropriate fluid.

We put up to 3 abs, some light off but still on. LDW, FCW, ACC and tracking light are still on.

But abs light is off.

Good evening gurus in the house. I just noticed something in my VW jetta car.
When the car is cold, like when I'm starting it after a long park let's say in the morning.
If I engage the gear where D or R, the car jerks heavily. But if I've used the car for some time and it's warmed up I won't experience such symptom as it will engage quietly.
Please advise...
