Pls house,, I changed school so I had to fill another ds160 form which comes with a new ds160 number. I was able to update d new ds160 number on my CGI portal but I couldn't update the new school information like the new sevis ID on the CGI page. Pls hw do I go abt this...thanks.

log on to the sevis website (https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html) and click on check i-901 status. use your former sevis id and the previous details such as dob. it will bring your payment status details and on the left hand side you can click on request transfer. you should get your reply from sevis with 48 working hours. Hello house,,I have a question about sevis. I paid and had a sevis ID which I used for my visa interview few months ago but visa was denied. Now I have gotten admission to a new school for spring 2022 waiting for my i-20 which is definitely coming with a different sevis ID. How do I transfer my sevis payment to the new ID or how do I go about this. Also how am I going to update my CGI portal with new sevis ID.

your gut feelings/intuition is valid, don’t come here to study without a solid funding plan..by all means, ensure u have fundings or money readily available for your studies, or else, u will almost be depressed and tempted to settle for less while trying to be legal.... Since u r over there , i blv you have a firsthand experience, is there no source of funds over there be it private loan or work study program etc. I know once u r nt a citizen or permanent resident you are nt eligible for federal loan FAFSA.. So is there no way out aside getting scholarship or funding from ur school??

This issue of funding is actually disturbing. I also got admission( masters) without funding and I always think of 2 things,, 1)won't it affect my chances of getting Visa approved 2) how am I going to survive over there wt d high tuition and living expenses. Or there are other ways of survival over there that are not clear yet..

I just rescheduled my appointment date now from April 7 and the earliest date on my page is June 1 for Lagos consulate. I was also scared when I heard sept has already been filed up cos I was still waiting til next month to reschedule bfr..but still I am surprised April and May had bn filled up..I was actually intending for early May but I got no choice I had to go for June wh I saw as the earliest date..

If you already have spring I-20, continue with it. You should meet up. Fill your DS160, pay SEVIS, MRV fees and book an appointment right away!.

I had an admission for spring 2021 jan 19 as resumption but the admission came late arnd DEC 19..so I'm still at d stage of i20 so I wanted to defer to summer so i can have ample time for d visa processing but d school sent me an email yesterday that I can only defer to fall 2021. This I'm not comfortable with cos I feel is too far. Summer would hv bn perfect for me. I have another school that is resuming summer but I have not gotten admission yet from there. Now the question is 1) shld I defer til fall at the Ist school at the same time continue d application for the 2nd school that resumes summer ( note,, i hv accepted d offer of admission at d Ist schl). 2) can I still go ahead wt d spring Admission ...will I still be able to meet up wt Jan 19 resumption considering d time for visa processing. Pls I await your advice..

Hello house, I just got an admission to university of Alabama spring 2021 starting Jan 19. They are just preparing my i-20 and wt the look of tns is going to take like 5 days. Now the question : is it still feasible to book a visa interview and get an appointment before Jan 19.. Can I do all these processes in jst a month. The school has a summer session starting in May so I am thinking of deferring til then so I wil have enough time to do all the processes. Pls I need advice.thanks
