LOL @Audio.
Anyway, no exchanges expected to take place so nothing to really be cautious about except information. I am never afraid of a different perspective, it allows for information enrichment whether or not you agree with them.
Glad to hear that from you. Just like you, I am also an open minded personality. Ready to unlearn and re-learn.

Only quoted your post to re-awaken the spirit of due diligence in you.

You people should come and share your Uber experience with this brother.

Man, it's good to be optimistic. But unrealistic optimism will get your fingers burnt badly.

Apart from those driving their own car, it's very very rare to see someone that has done Uber business consistently for 2 years.
Lol.
Uncle... I am not speaking out of experience.

Then try and show the positive side of you.

We all have gone through one thing or the other but that shouldn't deter you from believing in the bright future ahead of you.

Sir, this is Nigeria, some of the things you are suggesting will NEVER work. You read that right. NEVER work.
I have been following your comments.

Truly, you have a CLOSED MIND.

This is not good for your own development.

I believe anything and everything is possible.

The italics sums up what I am saying. You have not seen people run a away with Okada even with signed agreements. I repeat he should drive it himself.
People can only run away with your vehicle or okada if the proper safety measures are not taken. Starting with background checks, provision of genuine guarantor, working with people you already know (family, old classmate, church member, neighbour) etc. are some things that people must consider to protect their investments.

FYI, no business is risk free. You either minimize the risk or your exposure.

No difference between hire purchase and other forms of partner-owner relationships if you get a bad driver.
More reason why he should ensure he gets a good and reliable driver.

A family member, old classmate, neighbour etc....but proper DD must be done before giving the vehicle out.

So in essence, a good driver is needed. A tokumbo car with regular maintenance (monitored) to mitigate regular repairs that occur on nigerian used cars. Ensure the driver has all the papers before driving the car. They are not so expensive one about 5k or so if I remember correctly. Have tracking enabled to monitor their movement. Schedule regular inspection...What else... I may sound naive but I belive with all this in check one can give it a shot.
You are a solution person. Please, keep it up. A lot of people just jump from sky to make recommendations or condemnation without considering the possible solutions to the problems they're mentioning.

Part of the reasons why some people will keep making money. Channel the energy towards thinking solution rather than the problem.

Just as you have stated above, he will need a good driver. A sound vehicle, solid agreement/contract and a good location. Uber/bolt isn't as profitable in Abuja as it is in Lagos. And finally, he needs God's grace to succeed.

As for the current poor earnings, I believe the narrative will change in September because of the resumption of international travels. Services will be on for 24hours as curfew will be lifted. Some drivers prefer working at night.

In all, I pray you succeed.

He should drive it himself. Most Nigerians are a fraudster from fuel to spare parts and if his not conversant with vehicles parts and registration they will fleece him. From one complain to another. LaStma hold me I don't have Lassra, VIO said we don't have bornet permit, Lekki Police said I should pay fine for driving into Chevron estate. If you are not careful he would even advise you to sell and he may be the one to buy it through third party. He should drive it himself.
It's like most you didn't bother to read in between the lines before responding to message.

The young man said he wants to do HIGHER PURCHASE. This is quite different from rentals.

The desperation of a genuine driver to own a car is enough to make such a person work diligently and meet up with any said agreement.

HP is a good option. All he needs is to get a good and trusted person with well signed agreement. Default to attract penalties....... personally, I'll advice him to start with a car and study the business for 6months before committing more funds.

Hello Sirs and Ma'am,

Please, I'm considering venturing into POS business.

I will appreciate advise and heads up on the financial institution to work with?

NB:
I have done some findings and it seems Zenith Bank appears more reliable. Based on review from people doing the business.

Can you tell me more about this.Though I was looking for something easier that could be done online. I'm not a big investor really. Just some of my small savings from my little income and all.
Do you know anyone that's into export? People who export cocoa, sesame seed, garlic, ginger, cashew, charcoal etc.

Exporters are paid in dollars for their consignments.

Exportation is the reverse of importation. Although, in export you'll need to do some documentation that will require you repatriating the fund back to Nigeria.

I'll advise you make further enquiries and get a trusted person to help you with the process.

What is the most efficient way to convert 12 milllion to USD. I'm currently in U. S and I'm tired this treasury bills crap. The interest on investment can't even bit naira falling nor inflation. Is bitcoin a good idea? Is there any other better to invest other than naira? Investing in naira at this point is pointless.
Export export export.

Best option I can recommend for you is to look for a trusted exporter of Agricultural products. He will buy the products locally in naira and export to Europe or any other country.

The consignee will pay in dollars. Even though FGN will demand you repatriat, there should be a way that the banks can work this out for you to get paid in the dollar.

Shalom.

@House, A friend recently brought a proposal for equity partnerships in his already running palm kernel oil mill. (He basically want me to provide funds for purchase of palm kernel in large qty so as to guarantee daily production)
I've seen his books, gone for inspection, but haven't given consent yet.

My preference is profit sharing (partnerships) with a legal written agreement.

Donno if there is any body on this thread that has experience in such venture. Advise will be highly appreciated.
To me you have done enough DD but my concern is; what is the process in place that will guarantee you 100% CAPITAL RETENTION?

PS is important but security of your capital is more importanter

Lastly, don't be so desperate or greedy because, even those books and inspection you did would've been manipulated. Only invest what you can afford to lose.

I wish you all the best.

Nice submission. What I see here is the Personal and political interest of our government

No doubt, there is someone behind the mask pushing for all this nonsense. There are no jobs and these companies came in to help the youths, yet the government is not happy about it.

I think nothing will change in this country until the YOUTHS stand up and fight for their FREEDOM.

It is well.

The reason I mentioned and re-emphasised on the EMPATHY and VALUE perspectives.

I see those two as special ingredients to having a good employer and employee in an organisation.

I initially wanted to ignore your comment but I changed my mind.
Well, I won't pen down much but just a few questions;

1. Why do you think relying on God for a good employee is the cause for our retrogression in this part of the world?
2. Did you to read my initial post CAREFULLY before making this hasty conclusion? For employers, I spoke about EMPATHY (this covers a whole lot but it is missing in the work environment) and for employees, I spoke about VALUES. A lot has been said about the value system.

Once more I say to you, with God ALL things are possible.

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.
I like your submission Sir. Speaking out of well nourished experience. A lot to learn from.

In contrast to some of your views, I know within me that we still have some good Nigerians out there. I am a good Nigerian and I know a few others who wouldn't spoil their names and value for money.

Sometimes, we need to be on the other side of the table to see the true picture. The same Indians we come here to praise and glorify also have been convicted and found wanting in some Nigerian firms for advanced frauds.

Having a good employee is a gift and that is what I tell most people. Keep asking God to give you a good person.

Also, one important factor most employers miss out is - how they treat their employees. Some employers can be so wicked with zero empathy.

I need job Sir.

Thank you.
