Most of these people in the states work illegally and do the odd jobs like care givers, Uber, Amazon, doordash etc. Depending on the states, they have different state laws that allow undocumented immigrants to thrive. States like NY, MA, CO, CA among other blue states allow immigrants to work without work authorization. Most of these people work to survive and then find their way to adjust their status. So, being a student still give you more opportunity to survive. Shalom!
