Op, both Sammy and your on and off guy of seven years ain't the right people for you, it's so obvious. Your man you've stayed with for 7yrs doesn't know what he wants, plus he might turn out to be a "wife beater" you can see the early signs. The other Johnny traveller called Sammy has gone for greener pastures, in other words, he has gone overseas to hustle, and would you blame him for that? I think not. So don't hope on that, cuz he won't be coming soon, even from his response to you, you can tell.

Just an aside, i have a lil sis who has a guy she wanted to marry to, he travelled out and promised my sis that in 2 - 3 yrs he will be back to marry her, it's now more than 8yrs he hasn't been back, his reason being that things weren't the way he thought it will be. So I'm talking from experience.

Final verdict, keep looking for someone, he is out there, that someone who will love you for who you are and the parents wouldn't oppose to you marrying his son. There's that someone for everyone.
