Who is talking of clean slate here.

What we are talking of is you declare your assets before u run for a political post. I have 5 Naira, and a 10 goats plus a house my late dad past down to me. If you now become Governor and it came too light that u now have houses in VGC, Abuja and London. All those property will be confisticated.

Reason Why

1. The public is fully aware of your runumearations-salary,allowances e.tc
2. There will be an asset register available on line where u declared your assets prior to being a Governor.
3. Assets Register will be reconcile with what is on the ground at present any descarpancy will be Confistacated.

The Federal Vetting Agency will have the power to confistace assets that cannot be proven.

Governors will not be able to buy house members beacause house members will themselves be on the spot light.

We want true servants to the people. Being Goverment should not be seeing as the fastest way to Riches it should be discourage.

The Final Solution to Corruption in Nigeria

When Corruption has become so routine that even seasoned thieves and corruption God-fathers ( Like our dear friend Umaru Dikko ) see it as madness. It is time the Nigeria state face reality and re-invents an ingenious way to stop this monster called corruption otherwise we would all be consumed by it. EFCC is fighting a loss battle her Chairman has been quoted and I quote “ saying some of our political leaders have mental problems and need Psychiatric help” , It is time to get back to the drawing board and look for a more practical solution. That Solution is what I call the Final solutions just like the Nazis when they were hell bent on eradicating the Jews they had to dig deep and involve the some of the finest brains in Germany to come up with an ingenious way of dealing with the Jews problem which they see as the cause of all their problems. I am not in anyway advocating or in support of what Nazi Germany did, but what I am interested in is the word Final. Final means all other methods have been tried and failed we shall try one more last solution and if it did not work we might as well give up. Nazi Germany believes the problems of their society had to do with the Jews and to their thinking they came out with what they thought was the final solution. Today Nigerians need a final solution to the Corruption which has become endemic and it is crippling the nation. Electricity discovered in the mid 1850’s and today 2009, 159 years after its discovery Nigeria cannot not boast of constant supply of electricity despite all the technologies available today. This is an un-acceptable situation.

Final Solution

1. The Federal Government should establish a new ministry or Agency called the Federal Vetting Agency or Federal Asset Declaration Agency either of those names will do.

2. The Agency should have a Chairman based in Abuja and 36 Commissioners based on each of the states of the federation.

3. The aim of the agency is to Vet all political office holders from councillors to the presidency.

4. All future political office holders should declare their assets in an asset register before they can run for an elective post.

5. The Agency should have a web site which should be made public, people can check what the assets of prospective candidates running for various offices. People who have chosen to run for public office should be scrutinized by the public.

6. The Agency will issue each political office holder a certificate after verification has been concluded, this certificate should have been received 3 months to the commencement of elections.

7. A recent case that I read on the Net about the Governor of Ebonyi State buying 5th hand peageout 305, 11 years ago and now he is worth N80 billion will not happen in future.

8. With this method 90% of the resources of each state and local government will be spent in those states and LG.

9. The EFCC should be incorporated into this new Agency and will be the prosecution arm of the agency. They will investigate any case of misappropriation or allegation of fraud.

10. I think this method will eradicate 90% of fraud and embezzlement. A man before he became a Governor has one house and all of a sudden after he becomes a Governor has houses in every city will be questioned on how he came to acquire such wealth in short space of time. If he cannot provide a good reasons how he got the this sudden wealth, the agency will be given the power to sell those properties and the proceeds put back into the coffers of the state or LG, or Federal Ministry as the case may be.
Conclusion – Those of you in power today tell Yaradua to establish this Agency in time so that we as a nation can reap the full potential of Democracy. We are tired of the system as it is we have found the FINAL SOLUTION.

The fact tha Yaradua's has married 2 of his daughters to 2 sitting Govenors as 3rd and 4th Wives means his goverment will not have the stomach to implement was is discuss here or how else do you expect his new son-inlaws to take care of there new wives.

Mr Moderator please keep this Topic afresh, rather keeping topics of how an indian beat a prostitute to a pulp that topic is of no significance to millions of Nigerians. While these Topic could affect un-born generations we are fed up of one man stealing N80 billion.

"Not exactly - you cannot arrest someone simply because they have more cars than 5 years ago"

The salaries of public officers should be made public, cars does not drop from the sky, how many million Nigerians would like to wave a magic wand and all of a sudden they will have more cars than say 5 years ago. We want real proper public servants who will come and serve and know their is no monetry gain in being a Governor.

The post of a Governor must be made less attractive your every whim is under public scrutiny. Umaru Dikko even said it recently that public office is not for making money which I agree with if you want to make money go and become a businessman or something. Its the people's money every kobo must be scrutinize if anybody does not like it they should not seek public office.

I remember years ago a freind of mine was working for a shop in central london, the shop had a policy of each staff should have a maximum of £10.00 in there pockets which the shop beleif is more than enough for lunch expenses. This freind of mine was going to work one morning and met one chap that was owing him £20.00, so he asked for his money, the chap paid up. But my freind had forgotten about the company policy he just shoved the money into his pocket and went to work. Checks are not done everyday but routinely, he was unfortunate checks was carried out on the day he had this extra £20.00 on him. He explained to his boss what happened that morning, his boss told him you know the policy, its either you keep the £20.00 and consider today as your last day with us or give up the £20.00 and still have a Job with us, he had to forfeit the £20.00.

The essence of this story is any money found on a public officer that cannot be traced will have to be forfeited to the state. This will eradicate bribery, for e.g somebody gives you N1 MILLION in other for his firm to win a contract, the public officer in concern cannot tell you where the money came from, that money will be given to the state, and if he say it is a gift from Mr A that could be construed as bribery which is a sackable offence so either way the public officer has to adhere to the principle of honesty, sincerity and just plain truth
.

What I am saying is when you have an asset register available on-line even a man on the street by going to the net checking on the asset declared by a Governor comapares notes 4 or 5 years down the line can institute a Citizens arrest based on evidence in the public domain.
Politics › Re: Final Solution To Corruption In Nigeria by KnowAll(op): 11:32am On Feb 18, 2009
@Debosky
The Code of Conduct Bureau already carries out majority of the functions you listed, the only difference is that the evidence is not made public.

There is nothing bad in having an Agency dedicated to Asset verification of political office holders, except you are in support of the status quo as it stands. If as you said the Code of Conduct Bureau is doing exactly what I pointed out as to the powers of this new Agency then the allegation against the Govenor from Ebonyi State should be straight forward you just comapare what he declared in the asset register with what he has in reality. Is dead simple and its a no brainer.

What Sam Egwu did is what you get when you have no effective opposition in Nigeria. The Gorvernor is like a lord, just does as he pleases. The irony is the in-coming Governor cannot question the past Governor because they are from the same party. There is no oppostion in Nigeria PDP is ruling the roost this is not good for democracy. We are in trouble in Nigeria with Governors like this Sam of a guy.

I have always known that it is the house that is corrupt. it only takes less than 10 sincere legislators to beam their search light on Obasanjo's regime and even the present regime we go see the yansh of fowl. But alas the executive has already bought the law makers, hence ineffective legislators, just a talking shop.
Politics › Re: 5 Million Nigerians Worth More Than $1 Million Dollars by KnowAll(op): 11:21pm On Feb 05, 2009
The simplest law in the universe will unravel the wealth of certain individuals in any society. The law of demand and supply. Ikoyi lagos and this is not hearsay is the most expensive real estate in Africa. This cannot be except for some underline factors:-

1. Too many money chasing too few goods albeit properties. The price rises. That is why a 4 bedroom flat is sold for $1million dollars.

2. Look at the rapid spate of development in Abuja, this was a city that was nothing but a bush in 1990. The development in Abuja was spuurned by alot of private money and private investment. Anybody that is a who is who in Nigeria has a house there. That was why the minister of Abuja during Obasanjo's regime said that Abuja is not for the poor.

3. 2 other African countries moved there capitals, Tanzania moved its capital from Dar-es-Salem to Dodoma today Dodoma is still a bush there is so much the goverment can do, private investement is the key. The dollar millionairs were not found wanting in Abuja. The other African country was cote de voire
moved its capital from Abidjan to Yammasoukro. Today Yamasoukro is just a bush the only thing there is a replica of the baslica.

We have to be very careful here about sources, A lot of our dollar millionaires will not want to disclose the source of their wealth for fear of retribution.

I even missed a few people on my initial list Traditional Rulers, like the Ooni this is a man that was driving a rolls royce in london as far back as 1976.
Others that I missed out are - Professional lawyers and Judges.

I did not mention Nigerians in diaspora that are dollar millionairs.

Conclusion

I will not like to be drawn into an exercise in futility, u want me to put down 5 million names on this post that is an exercise in futility you either accept it or reject it. Its in the news recently that Indian has a middle class of 300 million people, could you please tell me how they arrived at this figure, did all 300 million people own up to being middle class. its all based on the laws of probability.

What relvance has this article above got with the topic?

5 MILLION Nigerians are worth 1$ MILLION Dollars, tell me if you have $1million, wont you treat your wife to a tummy tuck if she requires it remember we know they take money go heaven, money is made to be spent. There is a lot of relevance between the article and what we are celebrating here. At least we are not like Congo wey Mobutu took all the money and put it in his personal account. At least Nigeria can boast of more 5 million indivuduals that can hold their own anywhere in the world as suppose to one person.

How Celebs Spend Millions to Look Good

You have to hand it to Nigerians, women in particular. They are fashion-conscious, urbane, sophisticated and up-to-the-minute. Whether it is the latest designer wears, trend-setting styles and social etiquette, Nigerians know what it is all about. Usually the life and soul of the party wherever they go, Nigerians cannot be said to be shrinking violets - it just doesn't seem to be in their blood. Vibrant, bubbly, vivacious, effervescent are exciting words that aptly describe them. They are well known as very trendy people, especially the rich ones. They don’t compromise on food, drinks, clothes, cars and their residences. They are so hooked on fashion that they could go to any length to acquire the very best money can buy. They cut across all the sectors of the Nigerian economy. They are everywhere; they spend money like it’s going out of fashion. Even our Pastors would not be found wanting at all. For the pastors’ wives, their world practically revolves around prosperity and glamour. When they step out, they are like models on the runway strutting with the best and most expensive shoes, jewelries and perfumes from world-famous designers.

There are some top corporate players who hold the roadmap of style. They are always ahead of the game, and aware of what’s the trend, they joyfully show us what to do in the region of luxury and sumptuousness. Extremely conscious of their apparels, these are the people that have given new meaning to sophistication and elegance, panache and élan. At work or at home, soirees or shindigs, cocktails or dinners, they always stand out. In Nigeria, everywhere you turn, you are besieged by well turned out men and women in lovely but extremely expensive attires.

Where They Live

To separate the boys from the men, the privileged live in Ikoyi, Victoria Garden City, Victoria Island and Lekki. Most of them have their own personal houses while others live in expensive rented apartments. The amount paid per annum for a flat in Ikoyi can be spent to build a bungalow successfully on the Mainland. An air-conditioned 4-bedroom apartment, with a 100 KVA generator, swimming pool, gym, children’s play area, servant's quarters, patio and fitted kitchen in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, is worth N7.8 million per annum and you pay 2 to 3 years upfront. In Ikoyi, colonial town houses with pent houses, sensational stonewall cladding from South Africa and a frontage overlooking the swimming pool with other external features created with the occupant’s comfort in mind like swimming pool, generator, a 24-hour security, gardens, escalators and lots more, goes for not less than $70,000 (N9.1 Mllion) per annum.

In Victoria Garden City, a 4-bedroom apartment with marble and granite finishing, all rooms en-suite, 2-room Boys Quarters, swimming pool, fitted kitchen, big master bedroom with Jacuzzi, ample parking space, flower gardens, water-view, hot bath, with remote controlled gate costs about N95 million. In old Ikoyi, a 3 bedroom detached house with guest chalet and 2 rooms boy's quarters on half an acre of land is N9 million per annum.

Interestingly, all these apartments are paid for in dollars and pounds. Little wonder, in Ikoyi, you tend to see lots and lots of high-rise buildings springing up. The days of houses hemmed in by low rise, delicately nurtured gardens in Ikoyi are almost gone, if recent construction activities there are to be taken as an indicator. The Island has become home to several high-rise apartment buildings, a clear negation of the old Ikoyi building plan, which featured bungalows, advised by the community’s wetland topography. The turning point was the Federal Government’s privatisation policy, which ensured that its Ikoyi properties ended up in private hands.

UBN, a Property Company is one of such beneficiaries. The company had acquired properties years ago on some choice sites in Ikoyi and waited for activities to get underway. There could not be a better time than now and this is evident by the company’s development at 2, Kuramo Close. The site, described as simple but aesthetic comprises 16 units of air-conditioned 4-bedroom maisonettes. The magnificent apartments are incorporated into two distinct but connected (by a screened swimming pool at the centre), towers.

It is noteworthy that the demand for independent, functional and comfortable apartments with infrastructure and facilities of internationally acceptable standards has also influenced the market, as many companies opt for these qualities of accommodation for their expatriate personnel. Perhaps, what the community will suffer from this influx and obvious violation of housing plan as argued by the Victoria Island and Ikoyi Residents Association (VIIRA), it can hope to regain in aesthetic restoration. The accommodation project on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi is a case in point. The project, also comprising two blocks of air-conditioned apartments is a marked expression of the nouveau riche’s design as opposed to the Victorian styled detached houses of old. There are 12 units of 3-bedroom luxury flats with provision for recreational facilities (including a badminton court and swimming pool), a servants' block (separated from the main building by a driveway) and a passenger lift to ease movement up and down the building. There are remote-controlled lockable garages on the ground floor just beside the security house. The parking space can take just about 12 cars. With all these, the apartments may be described as cheap. They range from N10 million to N20 million per annum.

Diamonds

It became noticeable about five years ago. Without much fanfare, we began to notice that increasingly, more and more top celebrity women were going for Diamonds in their choice of accessories like necklaces, earrings, bracelets, wristwatches and rings. What attracted a lot of attention to it was because of the high cost Diamonds go for. But before we knew what was going on, it became the in-thing, with the result that right now, every high profile party now sees a few of our society women bedecked in the best designed Diamonds. Although, society women are often flooded with jewelry option, they are now strongly being lured to Diamonds, which cuts across every class of society women. But it holds more appeal for the younger generation of women whose age bracket falls between 40s and early 50s.

These are women like former First Lady, Hajia Maryam Babangida, Nana Otedola, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, Hajia Bola Shagaya, Senator Daisy Danjuma, Fifi Ejindu, Florence Ita- Giwa, Angela Onyeador, Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, Chief Nike Akande, Sale Alesh, Moji Paul-Lawal, Chioma Madubuko Folorunso Alakija, Ireti Asemota, Yeye Funke Daniel, Hajia Abba Folawiyo, Titi Atiku-Abubakar, Ladun Sijuwade, Nkiru Anumudu, Funmi Goka, to mention but a few. The list is getting longer.

Few years back, not many society women were so particular about their adornments. The main attraction then was their garb. However, modern fashion in Nigeria is all about trying to stand out. And what better way can one achieve this other than to wear Diamonds. It is hard not to do a double-take at the fashion statements these women make on their neck. But then, who can say which earrings and necklaces are real and which are not? However, a typical Nigerian society woman cannot risk subjecting herself to ridicule by wearing unreal jewelry.

A few years back, the major trend was Gold jewelry and the Saudi gold really featured in most society women’s collection. However, the advent of the millennium era ushered in the beads vogue. Of course, during this period, many society women vacillated between the options of beads and Italian gold (with the new addition of platinum white and yellow gold). All these while, a select few wealthy Nigerian society women were already building up their collection of Diamonds. This clique of women usually order for Diamonds from world-renowned jewelers like Harry Winston, Bulgaria, Van, Cleef and Arpels, Asprey and Garrard, Katz and some others.

And because they commit such huge investments in Diamonds, via their regular collections, these women usually keep vaults in exclusive stores and banks in Europe. Somehow, the realisation that glamour has to follow certain standards has seen other society women also acquiring Diamonds. This is largely explained by the fact that, like nothing else, Diamond confirms the status of a lady in the society. The idea of Diamond not only commands respect from other women, it holds a lot of allure. Moreover, the use of Diamonds by these society women has now set a new standard for party attendance and also, for the amount of media attention that they or their diamonds command. However, whether or not these diamonds are borrowed or bought remains in the realm of human conjecture but the appealing effect the craze for Diamond has on the Nigerian society cannot be denied.

Maryam Babangida is well known to have brought a lot of Glamour and Elegance into the office of the First Lady. She owns the highest, most exclusive and most expensive Diamond collection in Nigeria. And being the wife of the most influential man in Nigeria, this elegance personified woman who is in her late 50s, is even respected by most renowned Jewelers such as Harry Wiston, the best Diamond Jeweler in the world. Also, Harry Wiston, Asperey and Gerald, Van Cleef and Arpels, Boncheron and Bulgari are known to enjoy her patronage. Even though she is very much known not to be quite fond of making noise about her Diamond Collection, this former First Lady is said to boast of such fabulous collection of diamonds that will make even the British Monarch go green with envy. She has the Diamonds in various Colour, Cut, Clarity, and Carat. Even when some women avoid buying their diamonds in Switzerland, this former First Lady enjoys sourcing for hers in that country, not minding the fact that it is usually outrageously expensive. Not only that. This dark, beautiful woman has many Vaults in many banks in Switzerland, Germany, and Britain where she keeps her Diamonds.

Forget the fact that her late husband was not a favourite among Nigerians; Hajia Maryam Abacha is so far the most beautiful First Lady Nigeria ever had. And just as she is highly rated in the beauty department, so also is she rated in the collection of diamonds. This Shuwa Arab lady who is not given to much glamour and mother of nine children has a burning passion for collecting diamond jewelry. And she has them in large quantity and duality. While her late husband presided over the affairs of Nigeria, this beautiful former First Lady really spoilt herself by acquiring more and more Diamonds. Always preferring to be different, this highly fashionable woman is quite fond of building her Diamonds in platinum gold and pearls.

Daisy Danjuma is the wife of a very powerful and wealthy retired General. This Bini lady with a Mona Lisa smile invests heavily in jewelry. And she has so much diamonds in different cut, colours, clarity and carat. Apart from her rings, watches, necklaces, bracelets and earrings, this beautiful senator also acquires belts with diamond-studded buckles. She buys her diamonds in upscale jewelry stores in London, France, Lebanon and Switzerland. Moreover, some of her jewelers occasionally fly into Nigeria to deliver whatever diamond sets she orders.

She is one woman from Rivers state who boasts of such intimidating wealth that elicits envy from other women. Yet, she is not given to living a flamboyant lifestyle. But somehow, her love for collecting diamonds always gives her away, even when she prefers to portray an understated fashion-sense. A well-educated and very brilliant lady, this great lover of diamonds is from a very prominent family in Rivers State. And though she trained as a Medical Doctor, she holds a political appointment in her State. The cheapest item among her numerous set is a small earring which costs _25,000 pounds (N5.2 million). And her Jewelry collections are scattered in various vaults across the world.

Her very rich pedigree places her in such stead to own as many Diamonds as she desires. She is the daughter of Nigeria’s most influential man and her mother happens to own the highest collection of Diamond sets in the country. Invariably, this very glamorous lady who is in her early 30’s, is the youngest in this exclusive clique by virtue of her background. This lady has carved a sizeable niche for herself as a lady of class. Like her mother, she does the shopping for her Diamonds in Switzerland. And she is a familiar sight in Lebanon as well. She is so much adored and loved by these Lebanese Jewelers who regale their other clients about her virtues and shopping styles. The story has it that this young lady carries as much as 300,000 pounds whenever she wants to shop for her diamond jewelry.

She is an accomplished corporate woman in Nigeria. A very brilliant Accountant, this Ibadan-born lady twice served as a minister during the military era. She commands a great deal of respect from other women on account of her impeccable sense of style, just as she is always treated to a red-carpet treatment in highbrow shops in Paris. And just as she lavishes so much attention on Shoes, so does she pay equal attention to Diamond Jewelry. But she keeps all her diamond sets in banks’ vault abroad

Within the clique of Gold merchant in Nigeria, she is simply in a class of her own. She is the most famous jeweler in town. Her business style entails selling to two categories of people: The first batch is the all-comers’ affairs, which involves selling rare Gold sets. The second batch is known as the strong room where exotic precious stones like diamonds and emeralds are sold. And they are bought by special orders and she sells only in dollars, on a cash-and-carry basis. That is about her business life. This lady with a double-barrel surname, one of which bears that of the great Apostle of Faith, is one of the few Nigerian women with the highest collection of diamonds. She is very modest about her achievements. Thus, she does not go about flaunting her collection in a flamboyant manner. She wears the simplest of diamonds and always stands out at any gathering.

Although she is a Yoruba woman, she is an Hajia on account of her Muslim religion. This lovely lady from Ilorin is a big player in the corporate world, as she plays big in Banking, Photography and Oil sectors of the economy. Anytime you meet this Hajia, her fingers, ears and neck bleed with diamonds.

Tummy Tuck

Men and women do all kinds of expensive things to look good. Apart from breast enlargement, there is also Tummy Tuck. This procedure, medically known as Abdominopasty, may be able to help you. Abdominoplasty is known more commonly as a “Tummy Tuck”, a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The result is a dramatic reduction of a protruding abdomen. Mini Tummy Tucks, or partial Abdominoplasty, is a similar procedure that targets the lower abdomen only. This procedure is much less invasive and shorter than a full Tummy Tuck. Both procedures can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. The result is an enhanced appearance and a significant increase in your self-esteem and Confidence. The best candidates for these plastic surgery Tummy Tuck are individuals in relatively good shape (i.e. close to desired weight) but who are bothered by a large abdomen that exercise or diet cannot correct. If you have the following conditions, then you may be a good candidate for this surgery: If you have lost a lot of weight through Diet and Exercise, but still have large fat deposits or loose abdominal skin that won’t respond to the aforementioned diet and exercise: If you have lost a lot of weight following surgery (i.e. Gastic bypass) and now have lose skin remaining or If you have had multiple pregnancies and have stretched your abdominal muscles and skin beyond a point where they can’t return to normal. If you are only slightly Obese or you are an older individual that have lost your skin elasticity then, Abdominoplasty, whether partial or complete, can produce excellent results for an increasing amount of men and women.

Abdominoplasty will enhance your body contour by making your abdomen remain firmer and flatter for many years.

Tummy Tuck. Boob Lift. Arms and Thigh Lifts. Nose jobs, fat removal. These and many more are the various body enhancements that several men and women from all over the world have been criss-crossing America, Europe, the UK and South American countries to perform.

Tummy Tuck, according to plastic surgery specialist is designed to firm and smoothen your abdomen, giving you a slimmer, trimmer profile. It is actually designed to help many women who have developed Saggy stomach either as a result of substantial weight loss or following pregnancy, achieve a flat stomach as many women usually suffer weakened stomach muscles after pregnancy. Tummy Tuck helps by tightening up abdominal muscles and the procedure can even eliminate some stretch marks, especially those located below the navel. When the vogue started, having a Tummy Tuck was strictly the preserve of a few rich people who could afford it, like stars abroad and rich society women who desired to have a youthful lean look, so as to fit into gorgeous designer wears. But with the advent of Plastic Surgeons from Mexico, India, Brazil and Spain, the prices have since come down over the years, while the quality has gone up. Since almost every procedure can now be performed on an outpatient basis, a hospital stay is rarely required and this reduces the cost dramatically. Still, having the procedure done by the best in the field would attract about £15,000 and above for a Tummy Tuck. Regardless of the price, more and more Nigeria women can afford it.

Is that news that 5 million Nigerians worth over $1million? How much is one million buckshuh

1 million bucks no be money now. Is good to make our fellow Nigerians know that with hard work and good govt patronage u can be amongst the 5 million. I would have been amongst them if I had stayed in Naija. I was told to supply goods worth N100,000.00 in 1991 to the lagos state govt I could not raise the money then, but my collegue who I was competing with then is today one of those 5 million. Even common man can be amongst the 5 million.

There is no harm in having goverment patronage, it happens all over the world the biggest IT Contracts in the UK is given by the goverment Mod, NHS, Inland revenue. A strong goverment participtaion in business helps any economy, it stimulates the economy, that is why Obama is going to spend $900 billion on various goverment contract.

The fact is you will be surprised that 50% of the dollar millionaires are self made millionaires that have nothing to do with the Government. Do you expect Pastor Adeboye to fix your electricity, or Okocha to fix bad roads. Do you expect a Custom boss or oil company or banker to fix your roads.  95 % of these millionaires were not in charge of your roads or your Electricity.

The fact is Nigeria can sort out its Electricity problem in 24 hours the ruling class has chosen not to deal with this problem. When Atikus's wifes business is to import Generators to Naija, why would the husband sort out electricty problem. If a rich man chooses to live in a mud hut you cannot blame anybody.

@Super boi,

Big deal dey, you should be proud to be a Nigerian.

I don think you can see another African country where u have about 5 million of its citizens worth over $ a million dollars. So there is big deal in that, I remember about a year ago I was travelling to Nija, and I met one ex-minister and his son in the airport, I knew the son we were just jisting and I asked him are you flying on this flight and he said yeah but they are flying 1st class, I said OK i see. His father was a minister during Babangida's regime more than 17 years ago. I later asked the airline out of curiousty how much was 1st class ticket and they quoted £8,000.00,  I said to myself some peole get money for this Naija, Imagine a father paying £16,000.00 for a flight to lagos when they could have done the same journey for £800.00 for the both of them.

There are more than 5 million Nigerians worth more than $1 million dollars. When I look at this figure I start thinking that is -:

1. More than the population of Togo, Togo has 4.5 million people.
2. 1/8th the population of South Africa yet South Africa is meant to be the most developed nation in Africa.
3. 1/3rd the Population of Ghana, Ghana is meant to be better than Nigeria according to some of you.
4. 1/16th the population of Egypt another power house in Africa
5. 1/2.5 the population of Angola, yet Angola is said to be better than Nigeria
6. 1/6th the Population of Algeria, yet another power house in Africa.

I believe the wealthiest nation in Africa is Nigeria. If you look at the Real Estate of Ikoyi in lagos and Abuja property prices matches most of the financial centres in the world New York, London, and Torkyo yet we are less developed than some of these African nations mentioned above.

The Nigerians that are worth more than $1 million dollars

1. Most Military and Civilian Governors since we got independence
2. All ex presidents
3. The Super perm Secs now called Federal Director Generals in the federal ministry
4. Bank executives
5. Most of our Senators
6. Musicians, Artisans, Pastors, footballers e.t.c
7. Legitimate Business men (Spare part boys) and illegitimate Biz men (Druggies)
8. Some state Commissoners
9. Most of our ex Inspector General of Police
10. Ex Customs boss, Drug enforcement bosses
11. Bosses of most Federal Government parastalas
12. A lot ex Military officers that have taken government post at one time or the other
13. Local Government Chairmen
14. Most of the Federal Ministers
15. Yahoo boys and all other 419 kind of Business
16. Oil company Executives
17. Telecom Executives
18. Big Time business and Industrialist e.g Dangote, Femi Otedola, Danatata e.t.c
19. Some Ambassodors
20. Others – Silent Millionaires like that wealthy man near your house that nobody knows.

When a rich man chooses to live in a mud hut, would you blame anybody, statistically Nigeria should be the richest and and most developed. But reality is another thing entirely.

20% of electricity generators made anywhere in the world ends up in nigeria. -That should tell u something. The reason why we do not have constant electricity is because of sabotage. I do not see us having electricity ever except a total change in our mind set. I over heard that Atiku's wife's main business is the importation of Generators. Knowing fully well that Atiku was part of the Obasanjo regime all contracts awarded with regards to electricity was just a ruse to siphon money out of the country.

what BecomeRich is doing is good for democracy. The Yaradua govt will be aware of the grivences of the yorubas and will thread carefully with the way they treat yorubas been their only major ally in the south. So what BecomeRich is doing is acting like a pressure group to the govt and the fed govt has no choice but to take note. One can see that Yaradua and Bankole has a good rapport more than Yaradua and his VP. Bankole was despatch to Jos just after the riots.

The HIV epidemic I have been asking myself how come its so rampard in SA, I have a very strong conviction that this same white people running away were the preparatrators of this epidemic in the first place. How can a disease spread like that, there is a calculated attempt to wipe out the black SA's. Is it only SA africa that has un-protected sex in the world ?, yet the disease has been curtailed in almost every nation in the world even in Naija. I was watching a hospital programme in SA and most of the doctors attending to the patients were all whites and asians, it only takes one rogue doctor to start an epidemy.

Odieh, if you score an own goal when I was growing up in Nigeria , people around would shout Odieh !!!. I think what happened was Odieh a Nigerian defender scored an own goal against the super eagles thereby leading to our elimination from the 1978 or is it 1981 world cup not too sure about that now. Do kids in Nigeria today still use this word for scoring against your team, I will like to know.
Politics › Re: Kaduna Nzeogwu Hero Or Villian! by KnowAll(op): 4:05pm On Jan 22, 2009
That is why I refer to him as a rebel without a cause, he should not have relied on anybody whether they were ibo officers or not. A man coming from an army intelligence backgroud should no better. But having said that not many men today would put their life on the line so definately he was a brave man but not a hero. He was fighting a cause to champion the igbos hold on power, I personally will consder that to be too parochial and narrow minded and that led to his downfall.

I think Kaduna Nzeogwu was a biased hero, although a brave man, and a tactician in his summary execution of The Prime Minister, a federal minister, two regional premiers, along with top Army officers from the north and western regions of the nation. Where he fell flat was he should have finished the job killing top eastern politicians and top eastern military officers. That way his neutrality to any tribe in the country would have enhanced his image as a crusader against corrupt politicians. He would have been up there with the likes like Fiedel Castro and Che Guevara the Argentine born Cuban revolutionary. Unfortunately he got disillusioned and fell for that evil called tribalism. My conclusion is he was a rebel without a cause and that is where he lost it.

I think by developing these 5 staging post Kaduna,Minna,Jos, Ilorin, and Lokoja other cities will now link up with any of these 5 Fast train Hubs and with time we would have a comprehensive railway for the whole country. The 5 city hubs should be developed within the next 10 years. Other cities linking to the hub can be acheived in about 20 years time. For instance a new line should link Ilorin from Ibadan and the Ibadan line would eventually be extended to lagos. The jos line could be linked with the nort-eastern corridor, while the lokoja hub should go into benin city, then Asaba then to the East to Enugu where a fast one will link it with port-Harcourt. Kaduna will cover the north central corridor, while Minna would cover the north-west corridor. If Yardua acheived this then will know he has done something good for the nations. I commend Sambo for the good things he is doing Kaduna state that is quite impressive.
Politics › Re: The Transformation Of Nigeria, Part I - New Kaduna City (Master Plan) by KnowAll(m): 11:09am On Jan 22, 2009
A master plan should be developed so that 5 cities surronding Abuja should have fast train links with Abuja. This will help Abuja alleviate congestion as we currently have in lagos . A fast train from Kaduna to Abuja from the North east of Abuja, Fast Train from Minna to Abuja from the west of Abuja, Fast Train from Jos to Abuja from the East of Abuja, & probably fast trains from Ilorin- from the south west of Abuja and Lokoja to Abuja from the south east of Abuja. If this can be done people could be living in Ilorin, Minna, Kaduna, Lokoja and Kaduna and go to work in Abuja on a daily basis.
