"Obviously unskilled jobs are not well paid in Nigeria"

That is why Nija is not a proper society, both un-skilled and skilled workers should be able to afford what is sometimes fundermental to all human existence, roof over your head , a car to take you around, clothes, food, holidays e.t.c

We cannot all be Cowboys some of us have to be Indians the good thing about most western economy, the indians can still cloth, feed , accomodate. and enjoy a good quality of life than some of our Cowboys in Nigeria.

You are talking about your husband I will classify him as the cream of Nigeria society and I am talking about bottom of the scale in the Uk, your so called bankers in Nija buys tokunbo cars with there salary un-skilled labourer in britain can buy a brand new car if they are not extravagant. I can remember my 1st car I actually bought it when I was on the dough how about that. I remember one cab driver that took me in his car sometime ago, he told me he has paid off his mortgage the guy is not even 40 yet, I dont think you need any skill to drive a cab.

The only people enjoying in Nigeria are those bleeped up politicians.

@game-rod

"Other hard working Nigerians" - That is the bone of contention, if you are hard working, you will benefit from the current down-turn I personally i benefit my mortage is £400 pounds cheaper than say 6 months ago. And remember I said if you dont have a job na suffer you dey, but if you have a job and cut your coat according to your size, no shaking you will see your savings grow.

What does hard working Nigerians in Nigeria gets even if they do 10 jobs, 10,000 X 10 = N100,000.00 is that money. You do 2 jobs in the UK you will get at least £2000.00 X 200 = N400,000.00 which one is better. Dont forget there is a minimum rate in the UK which is £6.00 PER HOUR. Is there any minimum rate in Nigeria, people are paid slave labour. I remember whe I came to Nija, the hotel Iwas staying, I asked the gate man how much was he paid he said N6000.00 a month.

Look there is nobody suffering in london I will tell you why.

1. You will be suffering if you are an -illegal immigrant and forever running and dodging law enforcment officers, those kind of peeps are better off in Nija.

2. Quite a few Nijas are wanted for one fraud or the other, I know one guy who cashed in on about 10 house drawing secured loans on these houses, I recently saw him and he told me he now lives in Abuja. That kind of guy knows their nothing for him London anymore. So he is better of in Nija.

3. Other hard working Nigerians are actually enjoying the fruit of their labour with this credit crunch e.g if you have a mortgage and you are paying £1000.00 a month 4 months ago, the bank of England has actually dropped intrest rate from 5.50% TO 2 % it means somebody paying £1000.00 a few months ago would probably be paying about £650.00. Basically the govt has put £350.00 back into your pocket.

4) With that extra £350.00 in your pocket a lot peeps are even better off than before the credict crunch.

5) The only people that are worse off are people who lost their jobs and with time they will get another job.
Travel › Re: Best Country In Europe! by KnowAll(m): 11:32am On Dec 18, 2008
The best country in Europe is Great Britain, its the only country where you would see a successful black man who is not a footballer or celebrity, black men who has made it doing ordinary jobs you hardly fiand that in most european countries. I remember my nigerian freind went to Amsterdam and was talking to these ducth guy about the house he was living in London and this ducth man was suprised that a Nigerian could be living in a £650,000.00 house. The irony is this Nija guy only came to England only 10 years ago and was not even a citizen, If you are level headed and ambitious you will make it in the UK

Why would anybody want to come back to Nigeria when the Naira was appreciating against most currency, the Cental Bank Governor deem it fit to devalue the Naira, What for, why devalue the naira yet again. People will come back if the Naira aprreciates considerably

"when the self-acclaimed giant of Africa doesn't have nuclear warheads, intense military base,
how about warships, airstrip? how many do we have.? not even sufficient enough to fight NIGER DELTA, let alone guard the nation, meaning guarding the whole Africa would be child's play
US military budget is tipple the entire Nigeria budget."

no nation on earth needs nuclear war head, what for, why own a weapon you will never use meanwhile it will cost billions of $ to build such facilties, we can use the money that will build nuclear facilties to feed our people. Even America will have to re-think how much its spending on defence in the face of current economic down-turn, 5 million peeps will be jobless next year I dont think obama's priority will be increase defence expenses but to rather cut it down.

If you read my contribution on the Jos riot, you we see I catogorically blame those Yoruba's living in the North, they are better off living amongst their kins men in Togo and Rep of Benin than living North of River Niger. The only people I sympathasie with are the corpers who are serving their country in the name of Nigeria.

Someone like Mugabe is allowed to lead a country full of intellectuals. It beat my imaginations.
I wonderful how that formula evolved!!! "

If oyinbos can allow Hitler, Mitlosovich, Satlin to rule them why blame Mugabe. At least Mugabe never kill 2 million of his citizens like Hitler, Neither has he sent millions to the Gulas like Satlin, and only God knows how many million muslims died in Mitslovich ehtnic cleansing wars of the late 80's and ealry 90's.

The Igbo man has waxed stronger and stronger and he's been dead and buried and I've never as much as heard of a descendant of his.

In a war situation any tactic is acceptable, what do you want the Nigeria troops to do, to drop chocolate, biscuits and sweets from the sky to biafra kids, war is no joke when you declare war against a bigger nation you should be prepared for the worse. undecided

"Any government that continues to fraternize with the likes of Ibori, Orji Kalu, Odili and the rest of them can never, and I repeat, NEVER claim to be serious about the fight against corruption. "

Lets all stop this judge and jury atitude, Yaradua said he beleives in the rule of law, if you beleive in the rule of law you will agree with me that if someone is doing something right now before your very eyes,  why wait 8 years down the line before you can prosecute when you can prosecute them now, so I agree with baba go-slow on that, I think himself(Yaradua ) his hands are tied he cant really do anything about cases that are as old as our democracy.

I will give you a scenerio,

A Governor wants to rehabiltate some roads in his state he annouces intrested stake holders and contractors should tender for the contract. Lets say Company A bids N250 million to do the job, Company B bids N350 million to do the job and Company C bids N450 million to do the job. The Governor now chose Company C's bid saying there bid was the most comprehensive, it now came to light that Company C is the Governor's subsidiary company. The QUESTION is do you wait 8 years to investigate this kind of case or you investigate it now. The chances is if you investigate it now you might get to the bottom of the case. But 8 years down the line the files are nowhere to be found, bank transaction does not exist anymore, so where do yo start. The bottom line is  the man has no case to answer as the passage of time as made it un-prosecutable.

And going about saying so one is a theif without geniue facts is not right, is just that Nija no get libel laws wey strong , by the time this ex-Governor sue your ass,  pant self you no go get, it will mean a win-win situation for the Governor . [size=6pt]But will all know say they are all theives but where is our proof.[/6]
Politics › Re: Yar'adua Seeks End To Immunity For Leaders by KnowAll(m): 5:43pm On Dec 11, 2008
All public officials are innocent until proven guilty.

If a case is unfolding right before your koro koro eyes you can argue the merits and flaws of the case now rather than wait till a later date. What I am saying is if you say you will wait 4,5, or even 8 years to hear the case of the corruption some of the actors, co-consipirators and accusers could have died and the case will be inconclusive and therefor thrown out of court. Thats what EFCC is facing now they have no solid proof against all those ex Govenors.

Even in England an offence commited 7 years ago is considered spent and will not be heard in any court in the land.
Politics › Re: Yar'adua Seeks End To Immunity For Leaders by KnowAll(m): 2:13pm On Dec 11, 2008
Removing immunity is the right step in the right direction. Bringing prosecution to a goverment official that has been in office for 4 to 5 years could prove difficult because the principal actors, witnesses and co-conspirators could have died, be out of the country or cannot be located. For that reason when a scandal brokes it should be dealth with now and not 4 to 8 years time when the fact of the story could have been lost in translation.

There is this chap that I use to know a small boy never done a day's job in his life but was  driving £60,000.00 cars. Then all of a sudden I did not see him for a while for like 3 years, then I met him in a joint, I knew he must have gone Inside, so I asked him ol boy how never seen you 4 a while how things now, I was shocked when he told me I have been inside I can see that he felt rather cool with his new status.

All we need in Nigeria is 5 Awos and we will be in El-dorado. The downtown area of Ibadan with Cocoa house, Aje House, Kingsway building, First bank round house building, and other edifice could withstand any city in the world at its peak during the sixty's. But today you go to Ibadan and you will realise this City has not Change since Awo stop being the premier of western state it is a city left in a time warp.

@Bialegend
Your people have wasted your own chance through OBJ, so why ask for more when others are yet to get the their own chance? Why don't you root for him to take over in 2011 and finish off the hausa term? What are you afraid of? Afraid of confronting the hausas and telling them that they know nothing about leadership and so should make room for your Fashola to take over?

Have you forgotten that any Nigeria irrespective of where you come from are free to associtiate and create political parties at random without fear,  prejudice or intimidation. I will like to ask a few question

1. Where in the constituion was it written that the presidency should be rotational.

2. Do not confuse PDP's policy with other political  parties.

3. Yorubas cannot be Presidential candidate for PDP, that is for sure, but they can be presidential candidate for any other party.

4. If I like tommorow I form my own political party and make myself presidential candidate-  I will see how you will stop me.

5. The constition allows as many politcal party as possible and not jus PDP, you dont know the party that will win the 2011 presidential election might still be in its infancy stage now.

6. Dont be fooled and dis-illusioned by PDP's Policy, PDP is not the Nigeria electorate, the electorate will choose whoever they want come 2011.
Politics › Re: Babatunde Fashola For President 2015 by KnowAll(m): 2:25pm On Dec 08, 2008
The president and vice president can come from a village 2 km from each other, as long as they take care of Nigerians as a whole and not their own tribes man then nobody will give a hoot. Who ever can return Nigeria to what obtained in the late 70's to early 80's.  Nobody will think of the president been an Hausa man, yoruba man or any other tribe. This is what Nigerians wants

1. Strong Currency - The good old days when N1 is equal to $1.

2. The glorious days when a teacher can actually save up and take his/her family to london for shopping.- In those good old days shop owners use to close the shop if you tell them you are from Nigeria.

3. The good old days when you could buy a brand new car for N4000.00

4. Good old days when you graduate your dad buys you a car and gives you the key to a house when you get married.

5. The good old days when you have shopping malls like kingsway selling everything you can get in the West.

6. Can Nigeria ever be like that again ?, whoever can deliver all these even if you comes from the moon Nigerians will vote for them en-masse.

This quota system that obtains at the moment is un-sustanable, we need people who have vision not somebody that does not have a clue what goverment is all about.
Politics › Re: Volunteers Needed To Wake A Sleeping Giant (nigeria)- Pls Volunteer by KnowAll(m): 8:05am On Dec 06, 2008
There was this other post - " Its time for a revolution " . The Irony is revolution has already started.

1. The fact that Oshiomle won the election in Edo State is a milestone in Nigeria Politics.

2. Young revolutionalist and volunteers lend your expertise to this popular Governor, be it you are Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, or any other ethnic group lend your expertise to this man.

3. Revolutionist the world over needs a foothold somewhere. If Edo state is the foothold to change in Nigeria then all comrades come to Edo state and make it the El-dorado of Nigeria.

4. If the foothold succeeds then like a wild fire the gospel of change will impact on other states, even the ruling party PDP will not know what hit change.

5. Barrack Obama's election is based on change and like a wild fire it swept the board.

6. Chei Guavera the popular revolutionist that died in Cuba fighting with Fidel Castro, he was not Cuban he was Argentinian. But his mantra was based on if we can succed in one country the Gospel of change will spread into other latin American countries, but unfortunately he died.

7. This is the reason why I said you do not have to be from Edo state to contribute to its success. A success their would have created young revolutionaries of Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, and all other ehtnic extractrion who will take the fight to their respective states and before long a sea of change will sweep Nigeria.

8. Comrades if you truely beleif in the spririt of revolution and volenteering then approach the governor and make him the a de-facto figure where the revolution will be born and the gospel preached and spread and before long PDP will not know what hit them. Long live Nigeria, Long Live Oshimole.

9. Lastly I am not from Edo state, I am a yoruba nationalist but beleif in change and I see this popular governor as a spring board for change in Nigeria. I do not even know him. So Comrades get on board.
