@geez, snap a picture of him and post it online. |
I am Yoruba but frankly I dont trust that figure. It seems too large for my liking. Besides Ehow pays people to write articles and the more sensational they are, the better for traffic. Besides the article is wrong on the language issue. Yoruba is a Kwa language along with Ewe and some other west african languages. Language analysis firmly situates the language here in west africa. Though I dont discount the fact that they might have had an influx of Middle eastern/Sudanese people at some point. Nothing new though. |
I am not justifying or supporting what the husband did, and allowed his mum to get away with mind you. But it is natural for anyone to attack anyone that either wants to cause harm to their parents or curse their parents. It is a normal reflex action. It also shows how ignorant and out of touch the husband is to have not realised something was funny about the wife. SMH.
Yes, you are justifying the action. How do you cause harm to a mother-in-law by not cooking for her when you are too weak to do so? Is it so hard for the husband to show love by cooking for his wife and mom? Lots of boys pretending to be men. |
God bless her and her offspring for having the balls to clean up such filth. |
This is potentially a form of child trafficking. Does Nigerian Law permit such? Just curious though. Throw no barbs my way. |
Approach it with an open and strategic mind. Dont join any cults. Just make sure you live strategically and plan your moves far far ahead. Keep your eyes peeled. Its easy to sense people who seem to be aligned in such dark groups. Just note that and add to your plans. its not mathematics but it still responds to planning. All the best. |

I really dont see why my Yoruba brethren are attacking Afam? Is it not true that the thieves in our neighbourhood trot out the name of the great sage every time they want to commit some great robbery? Dont you get an instinctive negative reaction nowadays when you hear someone labelled a staunch 'awoist'? Ask the target of that praise to name 5 tenets of Awo's teaching and you would be suprised at the complete and utter ignorance. Ask them to show how their actions in the last five years have matched up to the sage's actions and they run. We need to accept the sage's exit once and for all and move on to demand even greater performance from his successors. Let them attempt to do better than he did. The great man deserves great successors not thieves who call his name while sliding through the window into our treasury. |
Its a first strike though, rest assured that the Israelis will use this as a case study for potential future cyberwar and their countermeasures will be tested on the hapless idiots who did this. Some of them are probably going to have the credit cards permanently emptied by proxy. Fun for us on the sidelines as long as no one gets killed. |
it is a MAD HOUSE!!! One child is spilling milk here, another is child is trying to lick it off the floor, yet another is trying to snatch the littler baby's bottle, one has dropped his cookie and wailing because it's what is soothing his hurting gums and the baby that just wants to be held all day is crying because you have put her down to check up on the other two fighting over the barney teddy bear that belongs to the little boy standing in the corner because he has popped in his diaper and he is shy.
And yet you leave all this in the hands of a 15 year old? |

kabaka1: U should know better, the only thing that applies here is a natural death like death old age and by disease not something like by accident, murder or suicide.I am not disputing the veracity of their results, I am trying to highlight its pointlessness in general life. ( and also being a troll for the fun of it). |

My opposition to the new law drive was that I felt more laws would not solve the issue if they wont be enforced. Opposition to them on twitter was as such targeted at refocusing them to think up new ways of ensuring the ALUU case never happens again. The effort could have been spent on sensitising people. We could have raised money for public advocacy/sensitization. We could have done countless other things aside from creating new laws. Nice article though. |
A spectacularly unscientific survey. measuring number of admissions while ignoring the comparative strictness of the admission regimes east or west of the niger makes no sense really. if its harder to get into OAU than it is to get into IMSU then I can reliably expect IMSU to record more admissions. Besides the admissions (if i am right) measured do not take into cognizance the states of origin of the applicants. So its entirely possible some of the respondents in the east are from the west and vice versa. And since this is about the larger question of people taking some form of tertiary education then this study must also take into consideration the number of schools east or west of the niger including polytechnics and colleges of education/nursing/technology and the sheer number of people attending those institutions must be taken into consideration too. As for the literacy argument, I have my own opinions about that and they differ from the multitude a bit. I feel the stats dont favour northerners who also happen to be literate in other languages like arabic or hausa OR yorubas who cant speak a word of english but can read fluent biblical yoruba with no stress. Its just our colonial mentality and english-based society's tilted against such. As such I cant dispute or contribute to that argument. |

doyin13: Na wa. . . like say na only one town dey the whole kwara.Interestingly this is usually the comment you observe anytime our governors trumpet their achievements. They find it easy to improve the capital where they live and leave the other towns gasping for change. Amaechi, Fashola (well he's trying to help everyone but Ikorodu and others still have issues),Akpabio (actually roads everywhere in AK are quite good but I still feel Uyo gets the lion's share). |
warripekin: Yes! interest rate from our local banks are incredibly high. I don't look up to them for loans. I source my financing mostly from Switz banks and from USA. but most financial institutions abroad will require you get them a local bank guaranty from the top 5 banks in Nigeria. The local banks charge only on the BG which is about .75% and is negotiable depending on the amount of BG you are raising. Most foreign financials will charge interest as low as 4% and one or two years moratorium and tenured for up wards of 5 years and above. But you must work with our local banks to progress.I would really love to learn how to do this. Is there a minimum figure you should aim at? For example for Commercial Papers, you would be thinking in terms of 100m or more. How does that work? Its little tidbits of financial intelligence like this that separate mere mortals from the many men&women guiding our destinies worldwide. |
