FamilyRe: What Is The Defination Of Maturity?is By "Age" Or "Achievement" by kodewrita(m): 12:16pm On Aug 26, 2013
Maturity = Control

Control over emotions.
Control over utterances.
Control over actions.
Control over progress.
the greater the degree of control over the above, the more mature.

Personally, I interpret maturity as having answered as many of Life's questions as possible

who I am,
what I like
what I dont like
what is right
what is wrong
what is my place
why I do the things I do
why I wont do the things I wont do
where I need to go in life and why

Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A large number of Oyo people have Nupe/Borgu blood in their veins. In fact, Oyo town has had Borgu rulers before so this is not earth-shaking news.

The important thing is that as of this moment, he is Yoruba. End of story.

Things like this will continue to happen as long as the following exist:
--A stigma on adoption of babies.
--A stigma on giving up babies for adoption.
--Poor knowledge of medical techniques like surrogate motherhood or IVF.
--Culture that celebrates "miracle births" by 40+ women without any fact-checking in the form of DNA.
--Poor legal framework for adoption.
--Endlessly opaque rules for getting an adoption.

Dont use this as an opportunity to become a prostitute.

Take one year leave of absence ( your departmental adviser and HOD can help with this).

Get a job and work for one year to save some cash for school ( party usher on weekends, makeup, event photography etc).

Go back to school and finish your education. simple.

ProgrammingProgramming Challenge 1 (any Language). by kodewrita(op): 8:31am On Aug 08, 2013
Write a program, in any free language, that prints to the terminal the lyrics to this song, 99 Bottles of Beer)(http://99-bottles-of-beer.net/lyrics.html).

If you copy anything from that site, it will be obvious, so don't try it, although you may find that site useful for seeing code of many different languages.

Rules:
Do not copy code, but you can obviously read it

Try not to comment on other submissions. It will be hard to judge changing entries. If you edit your code, post the new version and make it clear there is a new code.

How it will be judged
Obviously, this is a task that is trivial (one big output statement would work) so the winner will be judged on the following:

•Clean code. Readable code is a must for being a programmer who wishes to possibly interact with others. Some languages can be more readable than others, so it will be judged on the effort of writing clean code, not which language is easier to read by design.
•Logical code. Be a programmer, not a code monkey
•Commented code. If something is possibly unclear (like an obscure use of math), let the readers know. Do not over comment, and let the code speak for itself whenever you can. Have logical variable names and function names. (Excessive commenting is a minus factor)
•Working code. It has to work as it is posted. The code will be read on the forum

Hints:

•When you get to 1 bottle, it is a singular "bottle", whereas all other instances are plural.
•Using this challenge to try out a new language brings you bonus points, so please state when you are using the language for the first time if you are.

All the best.
CareerRe: How Did You Succeed With Your 2-2 Or 3rd Class? by kodewrita(m): 4:29pm On Jul 30, 2013
Let God be ur guide n u will realise dat 1st, 2nd and 3rd class r irrelevant.
Many made first class and got in to great companies on their first try and they are still doing well. Its better to train yourself and your siblings/kids/friends for excellence instead.

If you have a first class or 2-1, dont forget what made you excellent ( learning the requirements, always staying ahead of the curve and being responsible).

If you have anything else, face reality and make sure you dont tell yourself any lies. Do what you need to do to assure success for yourself including going back to school and separate yourself quickly from the multitude to pursue your personal succees.

mankand: Well Soyinka is right, if you have an illiterate as a wife, you will make stupid decision like Jonathan.

Nigerian forces were not needed in the first place, only trying to prove some stunts a distant trying to get attention as well as winning hearts.

Nigeria forces sent to Mali were never engaged in any combat Mali, only Niger and Chad forces were engaged in combat alongside the French troops, Nigeria forces were been used for domestic errands in Mali.

This is another flaw recorded for the man that once had no shoes
True, I recall reading a news article a while back that claimed Nigerian troops were only being used in Mali as logistics support and traffic control for the mobile troops.
PoliticsRe: Youths Protesting At Shell In Rumuobiakani, Port-Harcourt by kodewrita(m): 7:10am On Jul 17, 2013
EVANS BIPI: most of you just come online and write/comment on issues u know nothing about. well i am privileged to be an indigene of Rumuobiokani one of the host communities to Shell Industrial Area. I am a graduate of Petroleum Engineering with a 2.1. After my NYSC, I was told to go abroad to get an MSc if I want to work with Shell. where wud i get such money? but the funniest part of these drama is that Shell employs from places like Delta, Akwa Ibom etc without a BSc. I can tell u categorically that we don't have any Shell Staff from my community. Shell has enjoyed smooth relationship with our community for the past 100 years of their existence in our land but never feels we are employable. We have the highest number of unemployed youths in Rivers State because other companies think we have shell in our domain. A colleague of mine back then in the University from Delta who was warfed because of his poor performance is a staff of Shell as i write this piece. so it is not about academic prowess but a political agenda been carried out against youths of Shell I.A host communities. Rebisi is playing host to Total Finaelf, they have a working MOU to employ, train and develop youths of Rebisi and other host communities they operate from but Shell believes in the divide and rule policy. Shell is a curse on my people not a blessing. so if they leave, other IOCs will come in with a better corporate Social Responsibilty package for Youths of Shell I.A communities.
After my NYSC, []I was told to go abroad to get an MSc if I want to work with Shell. where wud i get such money? but the funniest part of these drama is that Shell employs from places like Delta, Akwa Ibom etc without a BSc.
Who told you to go and get MSc from abroad? Did you apply officially and get rejected OR did you (in spite of the fact that you are supposedly an educated graduate) rely on rumour for information?

Also have you heard of PTDF Scholarships, Mobil Scholarships, Total Scholarships, Shell Scholarships, AGIP Scholarships ( all restricted to Niger Delta indigenes from Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa with the exception of PTDF which is national). And dont claim its gated exclusively for the powerful. Have you EVER applied? Most likely NO.
Sir, you have no excuse on that score.

A colleague of mine back then in the University from Delta who was warfed because of his poor performance is a staff of Shell as i write this piece.
Deal with your envy. Besides, Delta is also a Niger Delta area and they had Shell facilities too. Shell is not just the property of Port Harcourt people. Warri people, Bonny people and others deserve employment too.

We have the highest number of unemployed youths in Rivers State because other companies think we have shell in our domain.
This can only apply to unskilled jobs. I heard from a confirmed source (a lady who works in Shell) that local communities protect each Shell/Total/Eni location as if its their own. As such Rumuobiakani people cannot go and seek unskilled jobs in Shell RA which is in Rumuokwurushi and vice versa. Now, who is responsible for that? The IOCs or your squabbling communities?

Rebisi is playing host to Total Finaelf, they have a working MOU to employ, train and develop youths of Rebisi and other host communities they operate from but Shell believes in the divide and rule policy.
Have your youth leaders ever approached any IOCs for this? or are they just content with earning money as manpower contractors for the few slots available by selling them to even non-indigenes? Long and short: Hold your youth Leaders responsible for this. . A neighbour who happens to be from Bonny was laughing at your protest. He mentioned the fact that youth leaders are the chief culprits even in his own area as they supposedly sell NLNG slots to non-indigenes for personal gain. Go and hold them responsible.

Shell is a curse on my people not a blessing. so if they leave, other IOCs will come in with a better corporate Social Responsibilty package for Youths of Shell I.A communities.
Please be informed that if Shell leaves, no other IOC will come in as most of the IOCs are actually selling.

Total sold 3 oil blocks a few months ago, Shell sold some too, AGIP has been quietly selling. Any sale now will result in the NPDC or local oil companies coming in.

And also please be informed that those people are going to pay top dollar to get Shell/Mobil/Total/Eni/Chevron assets and as such they will not be prepared to come in and recruit host community people for 60k to serve tea twice a day like the IOCs do. They will be there solely to recoup the billions of dollars they will have paid the IOCs. Go and ask the people in Warri what has happened to them now that NPDC, SEPLAT and other companies have taken over in warri. They are still protesting (even this week) that those companies are not recruiting and they have laid off lots of contractors. Ignore the warri-based internet warriors here who are pretending to be invincible. Ask the real ex-Shell, ex-Chevron contractors how they are surviving.

Besides if NNPC/NPDC come in, they will recruit based on Federal Character (The Majority tribes must all be represented and after then other communities ) so it will be a loss for you to chase Shell or the IOCs away.

Many of them are actually fair compared to local companies because they are scared of bad news on CNN which affects their share price. The nigerian stock market does not care whether mobile police kill you at an Oando facility. Oando share price will still rise inspite of that.

If your need for her submission is based on biblical injunction, then you probably need to show you are also in submission to God. No Christian woman should submit herself without seeing such.

I also want to ask if you are doing well in your chosen career. You need to be sure you are not transferring aggression.

I am also curious to know if she displayed this during courtship (if there was one)

lordZOUGA: but ORM is SQL. Already made SQL. the SQL statements are already optimized and tested for efficient database transaction. IMO Developing with ORM is faster.

Okay boss. it's just that SQL being the top of the list of your specifications is weird
Can you dive into the ORM backend and tune it to very specific requirements? Most people can't. Besides, there's an extra level of translation that is done before the actual SQL gets executed by the DB. Every little second/millisecond you can claw back helps your app.

besides, SQL is not so so hard and its quite powerful.

PoliticsRe: Reps Recommends Removal Of Immunity Clause For President And Govs by kodewrita(m): 7:00am On Jul 05, 2013
If they dont approve anything else, I want them to approve just the following:
1) Independent candidature ( Kill off the Tinubu-style selection process).
2) Local Government Autonomy ( Kill off the Godfatherism issues with states remitting security votes to brigands and thieves).
3) Zero Immunity ( lets punish criminals even those in power)
4) 2 Four Year Terms ( Anything else will reintroduce the impunity we are trying to correct).

My additional suggestions would have been:

1: One Legislative body instead of two AND
2: a midterm referendum to allow the country or the Sole legislative body to pass a vote of confidence on the govt and if failed, call for early elections. That way we can kick them out earlier.

InvestmentRe: Investment Ideas For A Pensioner by kodewrita(m): 1:32pm On Jun 25, 2013
Seun: Advice for yur uncle: First, put everything in tbills. 1/4 in 91 day tbills, 1/4 in 182 day tbills, and 1/2 in 364 day tbills. Once you invest in tbills, the feeling that you have to invest your money quickly - which can lead to bad investments - will pass away. Then you can start investing in things you really understand very well - real estate, stocks related to your area of expertise, business ventures selling products and services that are in great demand in your area, etc. Any investment you make should be based on your own personal knowledge and full conviction and not someone's advice. Avoid HYIP's, FOREX, or other funky investment ideas that are likely to fail. If you have no good ideas, just stick with tbills.
Just to really place more emphasis on some points in this really good tip.
SportsRe: Your Assessment Of Keshi's Team To The Confederations Cup? by kodewrita(m): 9:16am On Jun 24, 2013
1. Quite unfair bringing in Gambo on the last day, he should have played against Tahiti. I still want to see us allow Nigeria's top domestic league striker some time to hit his stride in the national team.
2. Musa shoom stick with wing play and should stay away from that 18 yards box. he doesnt have that final finishing ability.
3. I dream of a 4-5-1 with mikel as its arrowhead. he has that ability.
4. Uwa Echiejile was on form throughout the tournament and deserves proper credit for it.
5. Keshi should overcome his pride and reinvite Odemwingie. the Super Eagles are above even the coach's pride.
6. Obaobona deserves commendation for handling Torres efficiently.
7. Mba has lost it.
8. Akpala, Babatunde and ideye need to be caned. Ideye particularly.
9. Ideye should be a second striker feeding a main striker. He's not main striker material. AFAIK
10. Enyeama also performed well.
11. Oduamadi was performing well until the injury.
12. Ogu can do better. I just feel he needs to overcome his anxiety and accept that he is now a full member of the team.
13. Onazi would have been a boon to this team.
14. What in the world has happened to the Kalu Uches of this world?
