chyk91: i doubt if this will ever happen.<----Same way someone predicted less than 100 computers worldwide. |
Taiw: we only need to change our mentality in dis country cos in the western world, things are seen differently. As 4 me the only girls that have actually told me they like me are the ugly ones(no offence).i'm yet to see a fine sweet girl walk up to me and toast me.Is it a crime 4 a girl to toast a guy?must we guy do the toasting every single time. Not meant as an insult but if you were exceptionally handsome or rich, that might happen. |
not sure much progress has been made on this. |

AjanleKoko: I am quite concerned with the message the majority of posters are trying to pass on here. Not to join in the argument but out of sheer curiosity, what message do you observe in those posts you mentioned? |
Fashola+Northerner would be the dream ticket come 2015. A Fashola/Ribadu(or Sanusi) ticket would automatically ensure the Northern regions, Southwest and significant portions of the south south and south east would vote out mr GEJ. Thats my opinion though( Am allowed to be wrong). However, I am certain that however divided the southwest might be in the next governorship and LG elections, they will definitely not vote in GEJ next time. He already earned our lifetime enmity with the "Rascals" remark and of course the seeming irrationality displayed by the many ethnic champions running around him. |
All countries end up confronting this problem at some point. Cowboys roamed freely in the US until the invention of barbed wire meant that landowners could cordon off agricultural land and keep cattle herds from grazing on crops. Essentially cattle owners were forced to move to a more settled way of raising cattle and that still hasnt lead to meat shortage in the US. No offence to the nomadic fulani but I personally believe there's no place for them in the Nigeria we are hoping for. If any space is to be made for them, then the government needs to do that somewhere in the north where they have a clear majority not in the south where thousands of farmers are sharpening machetes in readiness of the arrival of their herds. |
Introduction: As a beginner, start with the comptia exams. they are cheap, easy and give you quick practical skills that make you immediately useful but they are not the top certificates you will ultimately need but good on your CV and for your life. Comptia N+: Easy introduction to computer networking. Later you can progress to Cisco courses if you so choose. Comptia A+: Easy. Give you some practical skills relating to computers. You should be able to assemble and troubleshoot pcs once you finish with this. Towards 300 and 400 level courses and your final year project: MCSD: Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer. Try to complete the introductory exam on that track. Its a gentle introduction to programming. Or go for Java: just the first exam. later you can choose to follow it all the way to the end. Oracle: Complete the first exam(Its a gentle introduction to databases and PL SQL.) Towards your final job: ITIL: Give you an idea of how real IT departments work in most companies that are not IT firms and also how IT service companies work. CISA: Most companies and IT units operate within strictly controlled risk environments. CISA will teach you those risks and controls and will make you a favoured target of consulting firms and oil companies(they must stay within really strict regulatory guidelines and are audited using these). PMP: Project management skills and will help you climb the ladder when you get into any of those companies. |
I am guessing at what you are trying to achieve, I am also making the following assumptions: you want the three links to reflect books.html?catid=1 , gadgets.html?catid=2 thats why I am pasting the code below(I have altered it a bit to make it readable): <?php //connect to server include('config.php'); $sql = "Select * from category"; $query = mysql_query($sql); ?> <html> <head> <title>Shopping Cart</title> </head> <body> <center> <img src="images/carton cahrt.jpg" /> <br /> <table> <form> <tr> <td width="200"><input type="submit" name="goods" value="Goods For sale" /></td> <td width="200"><input type="submit" name="basket" value="Basket Content" /></td> <td width="200"><input type="submit" name="order" value="Order" /></td> </tr> </form> <?php if($query){ ?> <tr> <?php while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)){ ?> <th width='200' align='center' > <b> <a href='<?php echo $row["type"];?>.html?cat_id=<?php echo $row["cat_id"]; ?>'> <?php $row["type"];?> </a> <a href='books.html?cat_id=<?php echo $row["cat_id"]; ?>'> <img src='images/<?php echo $row["cat_image"];?>' width='200' height='200' /> </a> Price: <?php echo $row["price"];?><br /> <b> Quantity:</b> <input name= 'qty' size='5'> <br /> <a href=''>add to cart</a> </th> <?php } ?> </tr> <?php } ?> </table> </center> </body> </html> I am curious, why are you using form buttons to link pages together at the top when you can simply use a link. Ideally, you shouldnt even be altering that books.html link. its wrongly named. You need to have category.php and your code would look like this: <?php while($row= mysql_fetch_assoc($query)){ ?> <td> <a href='category.php?cat_id=<?php echo $row["cat_id"]; ?>'> <span><?php echo $row["type"]; ?></span> <span> <img src='images/<?php echo $row["cat_image"]; ?>' width='200' height='200' /></span> </a> <span>Price: <?php echo $row["price"];?></span><br /> <span><b> Quantity:</b></span> <input name= 'qty' size='5'> <br /> <a href=''>add to cart</a> </td> <?php } ?> On the category.php page, simply check the GET array for the right variable like so: <?php if(isset($_GET["cat_id"])){?> $catid = stripslashes($_GET["cat_id"]); //yes I know you can just pick the array variable but if this is not an academic exercise, then you need to add some basic security hence the stripslashes(). that doesnt mean its secure oh. read more about how to secure PHP applications. //then load your page contents for that category by writing code after this comment. <?php } //else{ this is the part where you do error processing if this page is accidentally loaded.?> Hope I did not confuse you more. |

Politics aside(I dont much care for Aregbesola), thats actually a beautiful sight. Calisthenics always look kinda cool though reminiscent of North Korea and its popular staged marches/displays. |
saintneo: Do you(Yoruba) want to benefit as well?Just having a lovely sunday morning, trolling around on sectional threads on Nairaland. Guess he didnt expect someone to dive in. Besides, using the words "Historical Fact" is like a big neon sign saying KICK ME. ![]() |
Just to add that the Igala are largely muslim by virtue of their close contact with other muslim northern peoples. So the use of the term mallam also includes them. ![]() |

1) Pretend you are reading too much into things. 2) maintain reasonable distance and avoid too much physical contact. She might just be used to more touchy feely than most people and needs to learn your own boundaries. 3) Never ever ever ever ever compare her with your wife. Respect your wife and respect her too. 4) Most importantly, Respect yourself. |
Gentlemen, lets remember I was a bit sleep-deprived when I came up with this but here are some clarifications: Considering that the JS1,2 and 3 are in different levels, their classes shouldnt matter. However, the constraints are this: as much as possible you dont want people in the same class sitting together. You dont want the culprits sitting together ever. as much as possible students taking the same paper should not sit together. Yes you can reseat after each exam. for the purpose of this question, lets assume the rest of the students are not likely to cheat (in real life you cant guess ahead of time). There are no right answers, I just want to see interesting solutions, thats all. As an example, 6 students(with 2 rogue JSS1, 1 ghandi jss1, 2 JSS2 students and 1 JSS3 student). ---->JSS1R,JSS2,JSS3,JSS1R,JSS2,JSS1. And yes, you already know who the culprits are. {in real life you would probably seat them together in front of the invigilator} |
Kobojunkie: @POster, why maids at all? Even Oyinbo wey dey work so many hours more than most African women do, do not get maids the way you African women do. You folks need to stop being lazy and get over this "I am not complete without a maid for status" mentality.those oyinbos tend to make use of gadgets for a lot of the things they do in the house. essentially they replaced slave/menial labour with devices. washing machines, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, blenders etc. Here its a bit more expensive and many africans have not made their peace with these "mysterious" devices. |
Irreversible change as a result of the fact that she can no longer be termed as a virgin ever again. And also the reduced inhibition where sex is concerned, she has tasted it and has technically become a woman by mere fact that she has tasted the forbidden fruit. Now she knows whats between her legs, she might dress with more awareness of her body and also more awareness of its effect on the male gender. I would also expect her to be a little bit curious about what sex with some other guy could feel like( whether she takes herself up on it or not depends on the girl). But recognise that she's different and adapt your behaviour accordingly or lose her. Essentially you should choose to be either the driver in charge of those changes or the passenger dragged along by those changes. Enjoyable ride or a bitter one. |
Ok, I rarely post but I couldnt sleep so I decided to pass on the misery by creating a programming puzzle. you have an exam hall represented as an array of 42 entries. you have 19 JSS1 students, 11 JSS2 students and 12 JSS3 students sitting for a midterm exam in 2 courses. For the first paper, all the JSS1 have exactly the same paper, all the JSS2 students too but 6 JSS3 have a different paper from the rest. For the second paper, the JSS1 students still share the same paper and everyone else share the same papers Please note there are 4 confirmed unrepentant cheaters among the JSS1 students who must not sit with each other. Write a program (In Any Language of Your Choosing) or just an algorithm that seats the students in the best possible way to minimize cheating. (If you dont mind too, Do join me in pondering this at 3am :-) ) |
thats because Google also tracks you personally. Hence even if Facebook were to permit it, it would still show as long as you are Nigerian or you read Nigerian content. Simple. |
My dear idiot, google this please: ---> Site targeted google adverts. You can create Google adverts and target them at a specific site. Next time, ask questions before jumping cliffs with your mouth. |
Just to say kudos to the very well paid web crew a.k.a Laptop 40 for the recent web propaganda onslaught on Nairaland. I noticed the following ad recently. I am guessing this is meant to somehow convince us or achieve some other as-yet-undefined aim. well, keep it up. I will add the other ad( the PetroMinister ad) too when next Google deems it fit to show me that one. Hopefully if you keep doing this, the asinine portion of our brains would somehow fall for this.....sometime.......soon.

The solution as I have said severally is to allow us mute selected people ourselves. If most readers mute the tribalists, they cease to have an audience and their posts/threads die natural deaths. |
