Felicity001: To everyone I understand your points. But if you look really deep to understand the word “greed” you would understand its not an offensive word or a word that means insult. So I wonder why somebody should blow out because a word of such was used to deacribe h/h.
In any case apologies to you @dapotemi you take my word out of context and then started with insults and making a mess of yourself. Even when I still advice you to report the case you didn’t that part to know I meant no insult?
Anyways, sorry no vex. But just admit you are greedy and not just you because at some point we all can be greedy as well.
One love guy.
@dapotemi how far the space bus you where looking for that time hope you got something good. That was not greed. It was an opportunity. An opportunity to earn more. Greed would be him canceling all other requests that is not 3.0 surge or something and not wanting to rest i.e pursing surge/money. |

Felicity001: Read the two meanings of the word “greedy” in the attachment within.
Even if I didn’t go to Harvard University or Oxford at least I can still prove that he @dapotemi is a greedy person. Or you think leaving the money for the scammer rider therefore means he’s ascetic? What if it where a bolt trip? Ok do you know this same rider will carry out the same act the next time with another driver? Even with the same app? Or if he can’t make a request with his own detail he can get someone else to make a request for him? Then the trend continues and maybe if Uber finally blocks him he take the same xter to bolt and one day we will see how a driver is fighting with a rider on the street.
A wish goes like this, “blame everybody who lives around the house that burnt to ashes even the passers by.” The reason is, what did you do when you first saw the smoke or the fire? Did you just keep quiet or stand with two hands fold or just walk pass? That word greed does not qualify for what happened bro. The words that qualify are “scale of preference” and “opportunity cost”. Scale of preference means ranking one’s need in order of importance. Opportunity cost means forgoing something for another( perceived greater importance) In his scale of preference, the 3.0 surge was ranked higher than the 800(400) trip he just concluded and rider is being dubious, hence no need hounding for that plus it’s uber so no issues. Forgoing the 800 trip for a better trip with a 3.0 surge is the opportunity cost. Do I even make sense? |

Felicity001: I understand bro that’s you I called it greed because after he has eaten his cake he still want to have it back.
Why bother people or thinking to punish the rider when he knows the best way to approach the matter and get his money back? Abi u na Uber wey go pay an him money ni
The guy just want to pursue two rabbit and catch the both. That’s is an act of greed. I still don’t get. The greed is he got another ride or he got it on surge? If the payment method was card, would he have any issue? Guyman was doing his work jejely and a rider decided to be foolish. Although he did not need to bring it here as uber will pay extra sef but saying he is greedy is wrong. |

Felicity001: So you know what he was up to with all indications you still left him to go without collecting your money even after you’ve said you must collect your money before leaving and because of the greed of 3.0 surge you left without being paid. Guy OYO is your case.
Nobody will call him, report him to the platform admin that’s the only advice I’ve for you. Lol greed for 3.0 surge on a 30km or more journey? E be like say bomb dey your head. So you expected him to fight for 800 and lose a potential 10k ba. Dapotemi no need to bother the house with issues like this. Uber will pay you. It’s those raga muffins on bolt we are after. |

O Ye who believe! Enter not the dwellings of the Prophet for a meal without waiting for the proper time, unless permission be granted you. But if ye are invited, enter, and, when your meal is ended, then disperse. Linger not for conversation. Lo! that would cause annoyance to the Prophet, and he would be shy of (asking) you (to go); but Allah is not shy of the truth. And when ye ask of them (the wives of the Prophet) anything, ask it of them from behind a curtain. That is purer for your hearts and for their hearts. And it is not for you to cause annoyance to the messenger of Allah, nor that ye should ever marry his wives after him. Lo! that in Allah's sight would be an enormity. - Quran 33:53 . |

Felicity001: You’re right, they’ve more riders but nothing is impossible my guy. On this platform alone we have more than a humdrend drivers that exclude owners partners. If each 1 can connect to a driver and get feed back on the poor threatment from taxify and reasons why we plan for a week boycott, just a week believe me if this protest is well worked out it will work out well within few months. Even if it’s a day protest let’s all drive down to their head office and make our voice heard. Trust me nothing is impossible. This rubbish is too much na haba!!! Only the insult from riders alone self is enough to boycott them plus the money riders don’t pay after rides is enough. Mind you this is not politics, so nobody is at risk of losing h/h life.

Felicity001: 20k??! Are u fucking kidding me?! The rider has the car ooo he’s just to drive.
Or haven’t you heard of the new Dryva app in town? That pays driver 5k/day work?
The guy in question is yet to get a rental, so he’s not like u who already has one so you won’t understand what 5k plus other amount he’ll get from this job mean to him in the festive period.
Besides, you never can tell who could get him a car. They might have a discussion that might end in the rider either getting him a car or linking him to somebody. So don’t always see money has the only means of exchange to services sometimes sacrifice can change once life.
I don’t take this job to serious I only make sure I don’t offend anyone while doing it because no matter the case maybe this hustle can’t make one a billionaire it can only sustain one for the time being. Wait 20k is too much? Wow! You do know he’s traveling out of lagos right? He’s putting in hours plus a lot of inconvenience (jumping bus to get back to lagos, spending quality time with strangers etc) I don’t know if I’m spoilt or too greedy but I helped someone drive his car from tin can island to ocean bay area in lekki for 15k with abeg and that was in September. If it were to be December walai na double i go collect. You seem to take driving (which is a special skill) for granted. You think it’s that easy to drive safely huh? Mind you, make sure you check all the tiers, engine oil level, transmission oil level, radiator water, fire extinguishers, road sign, jack and spare tiers and make sure everyone is on their seat belt as you go both those sitting behind the car. Any thing tier that is expired and still look good to you should be turned inside.
Lastly, go and inspect the car a day to the journey to deem it fit for your journey. Na festive period we dey o be safety conscious. 5k to travel to IB for this festive period? Kuku kill me. Eroticestasy charge nothing less than 20k for that trip. No need for welfare and Transport back. |

A good example of trusted and valuable ecosystems are PayPal and Amazon. My thoughts are that OPay is positioning to be a payments ecosystem. There is nothing you do that doesn't require a payment - go to work (OCar), visit the Supermarket one bus stop away (Scan QR), urgent meeting and need to beat traffic (ORide), hungry (OFood), broke (OLoan), rich and want to invest (OWealth), want to gift someone cash (Transfer); etc. Yes you’re correct; and very soon, we would have opay wallet exchangers. |

Felicity001: I’ll share my experience as my take on this issue.
I was introduced to this ehailing just few months ago by a secondary sch class mate. He knows I’ve a car and I knew my car (V6) won’t be suitable for the job which I told him. So he helped me out by making a contact for a car. The owner of the car lives in Ajah. We drive down on this my friend’s car to see the guy. Getting there it’s a Camry “big daddy” same with what my guy uses for Uber. This my guy was d first person this owner contacted when the car first landed Nigeria direct tok.
I looked at the car before the owner came out from his compound. Nice guy, easy going, young and lovely dude. He handed over the keys myself with my guy test drive the car out of his estate but we didn’t go far. Returned and we started discussions, the dude wants only HP has he was already discouraged by the attitudes of about two drivers that haves the car, they worked and didn’t balance for some weeks then returned the car to him in bad shape which cost him about a 100k to fix it.
At that time, all the 4tiers are worn out and will need replacement or should be replaced within a month. The engine has a check sign, the windscreen looked like something that has been replaced, the car has no remote for automatic or distance opening of the doors unless with the keys, then d car stereo has been removed an replace with those once danfo usually has. And dude needs 2.3m for HP with upfront payment of 100k.
I went back home, give everything a deep meticulous thought and evaluation I then arrived at a value of 1.8m to 2m at most. Because car has been used for like 6months already. Weather na tear rubber as long has you done commot d rubber that item don turn used one
I called dude explained everything to him, though I also understand his own position because nobody plans to venture into a lose business come what may. But dude insist at 2.250k.
nna menh na so I take close negotiation ooo I can not come and kill myself.
About a month later I asked dude how far since we have good rapport dude said the car has been given out to sb at 2.3m on HP I wished him good luck.
So to me, anything wey don turn 9ja use can not be of the same value with a tok or new one it’s economic valuation base on savages and time factors. No need a scientist to explain that to you Even toks would give issues not to talk of naija used that has been flogged. |

But don't write off a car because it's Nigerian used. Knowing the condition makes more sense

izzou: I think it's wiser to know the condition of a car, before concluding whether it goes for 1.8 million or #20 naira
Gazzzzzzz made a thread on how he rebuilt a Honda accord. Take a look at the car and see if it won't pass for a Tokunboh. The engine was changed and all that.
It's ridiculous concluding that a car is terrible because it's Nigerian used. The Toks you want to buy isn't new either. If the CONDITION of any car is assumed, it will probably end up a lemon
Let him know the condition of the car. That's my point Any Nigerian used car that has endured intense driving is not fit for HP at that price. E be like say you no know the flogging these niggas dey flog cars. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by kodred(m): 11:54pm On Dec 19, 2019 |
izzou: Oh I don't own the car
And 2.5 million for a Nigerian used car on HP is not bad. The condition of the car is most important, not whether it's naija used or Tokunboh.
To each his own, but I'm sure a lot of us screaming 2 million won't do it when you're in that position Ha 2.5 million for a car that has been used under intense conditions in Nigeria. That’s a bottomless pit of repairs. If you ever manage to succeed and eventually pay off the car, then two things are involved it’s either you’re trying to sell it off to settle debt or you’re accumulating more debt to fix the car. It’s a terrible idea to go above 1.8M for a Nigerian used car on HP. Shey na naija people wey no get maintenance culture you wan collect HP of 2.5? I bind and cast village people! |

Felicity001: For heaven sake what is wrong using a car I’m renting for any purpose, I can decide to park the car in the house or use it to do what ever provided i do not bridge the contract agreement.
Why are you guys not asking why I spent my personal money in the car yet I still paid for days and week car didn’t work?
Let’s try to be rational in our judgment please. Just barely 17days car was under my custody I only used it to work less than 6days on and off and I still paid for 1st week, spent more than 7k trying to solve some problem and then also did servicing due to shortage of engine oil. You all know the type of oil corolla uses calculate the cost.
I really like how @izzou pointed out some things which is the mistake was that I would have handed over the car to the person she wanted me to but men everyone has reasons to their actions. What if I take that action and then in the process before she return something else happens which court will judge to my favor that I handed a call to somebody else instead of the person I collected it from? This is Nigeria and sh*t happens especially when you’re dealing with a woman you just have to be very careful. I was just asking questions yo. My advice going forward is to stick to the terms and conditions of your contract. Cars for rentals should be thoroughly checked before appending signature. Sorry for your ordeal. |

Felicity001: Hey guys let me share a little experience with you just for the benefit of those doing partnership or HP.
After I discovered my personal vehicle wasn’t made for the ehailing operations in understanding with my wife I decided to go for a rental. I went on NL and then made the request. Same day I got a call from someone.
Gring gring gring!!! Hello good evening, it’s a lady’s voice “Yes, I got your post on NL so I like to know where you stay/live” I told her “Oh, it’s too far not my jurisdiction I want somebody that leave around my place. Ok, no problem. She immediately hung the phone. I thought of it for few minutes, what gas distance got to do with the hustle? I quickly picked up my phone then sent her a text making her know distance is a thing of the mind, bla bla bla. The next day she called asking if I’m free to come down immediately.
The next day I went there, saw the car and we had a great talked and compromise. Car was bought direct belgium just 6-7month away within this time 4 drivers have used the car and the last guy that used the car bashed the front leaving one of the fenders and the headlamps in a very bad shape and left the car just after a week. Off course I asked why so many drivers within just the short period. the young lady said the first just came, dropped the car one morning and left, the 2nd left her with car at the mechanic workshop, the last bashed the car... little did I know car was having consistent issue due to high weekly target couple with car was an accidented car.
Next day I came to picked up the car, as someone that have been using cars for some times na let me carry out my normal rituals. I discovered something. Oil droplet from one region around the engine. She quickly called her mechanic. We took the car there. Oil sensor was faulty. Car was left at the mechanic workshop for another whole day for it to be fixed. Next day again I went to picked car up.
All these time more than four persons in my neighborhood where calling in asking for my interest on the weekly rental, some HP without any upfront payment, but I declined telling them I’ve gotten one I never knew I was in a wrong path.
Next day again I went to pick car up from my young madam house. Zoom! I turned in my apps. Right there in her presence request entered. “Babe, na go I dey o, work don start, expect your first payment as agreed next week”. I could see the joy and relief in her face with plenty of pleasant smiles on her face.
Just on my way to the airport I noticed something, the speedometer was dangling, it’s reads to a certain speed then stops. Two days later the thing stopped reading totally, I called my young fine, sexy and single madam’s attention to it. 3-4 days later I noticed another thing serious. The gear started slowing down when on high speed. Haaa! My personal car Honda had similar issue one time before so I thought I could apply the same technics of turning it off and starting after some time, yet hear won’t pick unlike my that will pick. “Madam, this is the issue I just noticed oh did any of the former drivers told you anything about this before?” “Yes, one complained bla bla... look for a time and bring the car down let’s the mechanic check it”.
Within these few days I’ve not been able to make use of the car efficiently apart from the first 3days which was without speedometer and headlamp because driving past 7pm was a problem as the light wasn’t too bright. You see enh, experience matters oh. I remembered a Chinese guy complained about my km not reading . These white guys they pay attention to things you wouldn’t even think or could imagine. But despite all of that I made sure I got her money available. The following week after my first remittance I took the car to her as instructed because she said after first payment the fender and the headlamp(HL) will be worked on. Scanning was done and the speedometer sensor was changed. And at the end of the day the fender and HL wasn’t attended to as it was getting dark. I suggested to her since that morning “babe, all of these things I can take care of them at my convenience without coming down and having work down times, I’ll send the bill to you. My madam said no. Ok o, no p. Ok, I’m going home it’s getting dark I’d to pickup my son from school. Call me when the car is fixed. Madam changed face bla bla bla...
In my way home that night, the gear problem still persist and even worse than it was before the sensor was replaced. Next morning madam who agreed to send money to do the repairs sent a message on WhatsApp saying an urgency came up and she needed to travel and will be back same time next week. This was Wednesday. In my mind I was like, really?! That means no work this week be that. Each day I tried to use the car to see if I could manage it to work, for where? Once car is hot like this gear won’t select again but the acceleration can go as high as 6-7 sometimes before gear picks. Men... as a fellow car owner I was not ok within I just vex park car at home.
I call my young madam, she wouldn’t pick up instead she will send a DM that I should find a way to fix things. I took car to my mechanics a gear specialist, spent about 7k both on fuel to test drive for almost 3hours for the guy to know the exalt way it does, he did his work. After that the engine check sign went off and car seems to be ok. Oya na make I go work, problem still persist, gear wasn’t still ok, my mechanic said he still need to drive the car to see how far... to cut the long story short. Thursday last week or there about I called my young madam she still wouldn’t pickup I simply sent her a text, “babe I’m returning your car” she said I should drop it with somebody, I said no I can’t do that I collected car from you and nobody was there when I was picking the car from you so why should I hand it over to somebody I do not know. I’ll wait till you return then bring the car to you. Since I’ve ran out of cash to fix the problem car will be parked at my place till you’re ready.
The next day evening madam called me that she was around, I said fine, I’ll be coming the following morning, the next morning my wife said we need to take my son to the hospital has the little boy was running temperature. Will I say because I want to return car I won’t attend to my family? No way!
I quickly sent her a text telling her something or urgency came up even letting her know I’d to visit a hospital. I noticed she didn’t read my message even after several hours. My plan was after returning I’ll take the car to her. I’ve successfully dropped my son and the mother at the hospital let me quickly check something close by while doctors was doing his thing, my young madam called, “Where are you, I’m in your area, I just read you message I hope all is well”. Me, yes all is well but I’m heading back to the hospital now, this is exactly where I am right now stocked in traffic I should be back before 2pm if you would still be around. She, “yes I’ll be waiting then”.
After like 30+ still in the traffic to the hospital I saw my young madam highlighted from a bike. I just jejely opened the door. Me, good afternoon with little smile on my face. She, “can we go to Agor now?” Me, why?! I can’t. Was still talking when she interrupted. Ok pull over. I didn’t even argue, as the traffic moved she repeated. Pull over pull over. I was like why don’t we go to my house let’s talk or are we having any issues? Or who will drive you home from here cause I know she can’t even drive. She kept saying, pull over. Don’t worry about that. I didn’t even argued I just simply pulled over. She just off the engine herself and then took the keys.
Me I just take my little things, came out of the vehicle and immediately she locked the car. Na so me I carry my karya stopped bike move. When home pickup my car then to the hospital and picked up my family. Why didn’t you return the car the moment you discovered the faults? Did you sign any document before resuming work? What is contained in the document? Why didn’t you use your car for family runs? Lastly shey you wan bang your business partner ni? Which one be sexy fine madam sexy fine madam everywhere |

Drivers can’t ban riders from using the app. So they have no reason to bow to you only to uber/bolt that gave them the privilege to enjoy comfort (or pain ) Uber/Bolt has principal authority what happens to riders and drivers. brogxy: I don't seems to understand the point your are driving at but let me explain more with the image you attached. Like I said earlier, taxify doesn't give details about your trip. *** Just got a trip, will be back to modify. Uber gave you the trip fare which was 2,315 excluding toll but taxify included the toll to give you 2,500. exact fare on taxify was actually 2,200 as against uber, so now tell me which is higher. Using duration makes a difference of N10/min. *sigh Okay bro you're correct. |
