Luckyroro: Personally I feel Omeruo is better than Leon Balogun. Omeruo save for a few blunders sometimes is rock solid. He may not be tactically good but he has that defensive statement in him which comes in handy when a match is tough. I mean the energetic clearance and push. Leon on the other hand is good tactically but too soft for a modern day defender. He practically loses focus most times but our sentiments (Cos he is white) won't allow us to see that. Take for instance the Algeria match, Injury or no injury he shouldn't have performed that bad but we all swept it under the carpet. Leon flops a lot of times but because Ebony covers for him a lot, we seem not to talk about it. I still remember Balogun's debut against Mexico in 2014,his performance was so poor that day that when he eventually got injured, it was like his saving grace. He was just making reckless and unguarded tackles like Fegor Ogude. Sir if you look at our CBs very well, a fit Balogun is very important. Check out our match against Serbia, Ekong still has a long way to go in organising the defence, him and Awaziem lacks this cos they had the same issues against South Africa. Balogun is numero uno in our defence cos his presence dictate our pace and Ekong always come alive, check Ekong performance in his absence. Honestly good to have Balogun,Ekong,Omeruo and Awaziem in our team. |

Icon4s: The thing is they just like to see new players all the time. That was the argument they held against Omeruo with which to promote Awaziem. And the Awaziem has not impressed in the two SE games I have watched him play.
I still say it that Omeruo is more reliable than Awaziem. Not to talk of Sunday Eze. That's more reason we always have It difficult with Ekong/Awaziem pairing. Rohr need Omeruo in the team cos of Balogun fitness cos better to see Omeruo,/Ekong in the absence of Balogun. |

Luckyroro: I have been following this thread for a very long time now and I must confess that this is the most interesting and informative thread about the Super Eagles. From my viewing of the thread I've been able to identify a few Bosses who are good and I must start with paying homage to them before I officially join the thread. Tbaba1234 Icon7s Komekn and Thesupernerd I greet you all. I am now a member of this thread and I want you guys to accord me any privilege you accord the old members. For what's worth, I'm a product of very late 80's so my knowledge of Nigeria football dates back to 1999 U20 tourney. I am an ardent supporter of Super Eagles so we are all on same page. Welcome to a great thread where everything flow, sometimes we dey go craze o but still one big family. Enjoy your stay my man |

Danielnino00: Ain't got much to say on the list... it was very predictable. no surprise.. Simmy Nwankwo really did earn his place by hitting form at the right time.. I guess playing in a better league places him ahead of d likes of Umar,Dessers and Onuachu.. as for Lokosa,I don't expect him to make the final 23 man list and his inclusion might just b an attempt to improve the league. but if he does well in the friendly, I see no reason why he shouldn't make d final list.. Really gutted for Onyekuru tho.. injury came at a bad time.. but he is still young.. let him keep doing his thing.. Qatar 2022 awaits him and the many young bubbling talents we have out there..
If Rohr is serious about being fair in his final selection, he must give d fringe players their chances in the friendly... I'll like us to play DRC with this team
Akpeyi (Ajiboye )
Aina Eze Omeruo Echijele
Agbo Agu
Musa Joel (Etebo) Simeon
Simmy (Lokosa)
4-2-3-1 Good lineup but i want to see Omeruo/Awaziem pairing coz Ekong/Awaziem combo is not working.Ekong has done it well with Balogun and Omeruo. |

Definitely Ambrose should be the man but as you rightly said Rohr is not disposed to older players, check Aiyenugba for instance and i think Enyeama attitude blocked the old boys. |

Icon4s: SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF RUSSIA
A Visitor's Guide to Impressing Russian Women (To whom it may concern)
If you are not Russian and interested in dating a Russian girl, you may need a bit of an instruction manual. While the basic rules of dating etiquette obviously apply, there are a few quirks that Russian girls have that sometimes create conflict between girls from Russia and men from the West.
Of course, there are also several things that Russian women dislike about Russian men—which gives you the opportunity to play up your differences—but there are also some traits of Russian men that Russian girls actually do like, even if they may never admit it.
Knowing these preferences, you can pave yourself a much smoother path to attracting Russian girls during your visit to Russia.
Dress Nicely
Russian men tend to dress very simply, and once they’re in a relationship they can often forgo dressing well entirely and settle down into comfortable-meets-shabby gear. To impress her, do the opposite and dress sharply—not over-the-top, but look put together. Wear basics that are made of high-quality material, are relatively fashionable (e.g. no boot-cut light-wash denim and sneakers) and you’ll definitely be in her good books.
Be Assertive
Russian men can be almost aggressively assertive, and while you want to stay away from that end of the spectrum, you definitely don’t want to come off as indecisive or letting her make all the decisions. Keep it at a good balance, but especially at the beginning of a relationship, you want to make sure that you take control when necessary.
Decide where you’re going for dinner and then invite her there. Decide what you will be doing that day and then ask her to do it. Don’t call her up and say ‘what do you want to do?’. It’s not that Russian women don’t like to make decisions—in fact, in a lot of Russian relationships, women have the upper hand; it’s just that showing assertiveness shows that you’ll be able to match her decisiveness rather than leaving her to do all the work.
Be a Gentleman
Russian men are well-trained in chivalry, and no matter how modern your Russian girl is, you want to make sure you take care of her in the same way. This means picking up the bill at the restaurant without discussion, opening doors, giving up your seat on the metro, and always carrying everything except her purse (within reason of course).
Be Nice
This is an area where you can really shine against Russian men. Not to generalize too much, but many Russian men can be quite rough, and you can stand out by being considerate, compassionate, and generally making sure she’s comfortable, happy, and listened-to. Stay away from the stereotypical “nice-guy” territory—you don’t want to seem like a wimp—but listen to her and her wishes in a gallant way.
Navigate Gender Roles Carefully
Many Russian men are still stuck in a very traditional conception of gender roles, and it is a common assumption of Russian women that Western men are more accepting of women’s changing role in society. This means that you should be accepting of whichever way she decides to live her life—whether she wants to be a career woman, a homemaker, or a mix of both; never be dismissive of any of these lifestyle choices.
On a smaller scale, you can also demonstrate this by being willing to cook and clean—not expecting her to always do it as many Russian men do.
Buy Her Flowers
Finally, Russian men are famous for their affinity for giving flowers—in Russian society, flowers are bought for almost any festive occasion. Russian women will appreciate you bringing her bouquets on birthdays, celebrations, and once in a while, just because. TheSuperNerd: The Super Eagles fan in me wants Echiejile dropped to be honest Sir AIG... His so called experience can be forgone because in Balogun, Ekong and Shehu we have experiemce too and leaders in that defence. Also, Aina and Idowu at LB/LWB should do the job for us buuuutttttttt.....
The Analyst in me says otherwise... I know it won't be so straightforward as I have earlier said... Rohr's biggest decision lies in the Echiejile in or out question. And honestly the analyst in me cannot speak on what Rohr will do in this Echiejile matter. But I am hoping he makes the best choice here. That's all. Thank you. Shehu Abdullahi RB/DM Ebuehi Tryonne RB/LB/WB Bryan Idowu LB/RB/WB Ola Aina RB/LB/WB Elderson Echiejile LB/WB Based on this, pls pick your fullbacks |

charlesemeka85: hahahahahahahahaha good question,so simmy nwankwo will take his place? the hype about this simy nwankwo is beginning to annoy me. haven't seen him play though but from the little i saw on youtube a forthnight ago he doesn't strike me like a player who rohr will go gaga for. he is just similar to sadiq and onuachu but both seem to be more pacy that him. making it to the 30 man list is already a huge achievement for him I have seen him, nothing special and his goals stats not impressive until towards the tail end of the league,am seeing another Nwofor of Keshi's era. |

charlesemeka85: have seen agbo play when he was in la liga but dont know how much he has improved since moving to belgium, if not for anything he has been super active in belgium and rohr insistence in him signifies he posses some good qualities. will love to see him against congo and atletico madrid. the little i have seen in his game he is better than mikel agu. as for elderson like you said his experience is worthless if he wasnt able to find it easy in the belgian 2nd division, that's appalling. when finally dropped from the final 23 he should just call it a day in international football Don't let's us go into Uche Agbo and Rohr, only Rohr can explain better and don't be surprised seeing Agbo in 23 man list. |

He had fallen behind, hope to see him back in form and make the team but based on last friendlies he was number five behind Shehu,Idowu,Ebuehi and Aina. It's simple Ebuehi replaced Shehu against Poland and started Serbia Bryan Idowu was replaced by Aina against Serbia and Echiejile on the bench. Elderson just need to tell us he is still the man or do you think Mikel,Moses are making the team based on experience but performance. |

Oasis007: It's a fair List, and kinda a reflection of Rohr's credibility. It's apparent he's pressured to include some Names, but he didn't bow rather absorb it to his own Good.
GK
Either Dele or Akpeyi won't make the final List
DF
I expect Eze and perhaps either of Aina or Ebuehi miss out. I know some Dudes expect Echiejile to miss out, but his Experience gonna be needed at the Mundial.
MF
Uche Agbo and either of Agu or Ogu won't make the final Cut.
FW
Junior Lokosa and Simmy ain't going to the World Cup except injury happens to any of the remaining FWs.
It's a good List, and all the Invitees merit the Call. Eagles shall soar higher in Russia! Echiejile experience doesn't count again but performance cos at club level his experience did not help him in lowly Belgium division two,so better for him to prove to Rohr that he is still the man to beat. I don't see Agbo and Agu making it based on last friendlies, Agbo has not played under Rohr but keep on getting invitation and Agu was dropped until he was called to replace injured Etebo. On goalkeeper it will take a great performance from Ajiboye to make it cos Rohr doesn't rate him but on level playing ground he should be among the best three. |

No Kayode too, is ok. That Spanish club messed him up big time. I remember metaljigsaw saying Lokosa deserved to be on the list but some waive it cos of home based tag, meaning good to be hardworking. Oyekwuru the injury did not help the young man, still young, hope to see him in post WC. Dele Aiyenugba, well Rohr already made up his mind on Uzoho, Akpeyi, Ezenwa and Ajiboye. Kayode,i think is a lesson to our players to always look at their future before signing any contract, man city was a mistake. Good list but Ajiboye, Eze,Lokosa,Agbo,Agu,and Nwankwo will need to work their socks off before they can make 23 man list. |

TheSuperNerd: Pinnick: Nigeria Not Paying Atlético A Dime, Sundowns Paid Barca N1.5 Billion For Friendly
https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/45050Atletico.jpg
Amaju Pinnick has revealed that the Nigeria Football Federation did not pay any money to bring Atlético de Madrid to Nigeria for a friendly against the Super Eagles because of their relationship with Liga de Fútbol Profesional.
The NFF president has claimed that Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns had to fork out four million dollars (approximately N1.5 billion in Nigerian currency) before Barcelona agreed to travel to South Africa for the Mandela Centenary Cup match.
''That is the beauty about what Shehu (Dikko) has done, we are not paying Atléticoa dime. Sundowns paid Barcelona four million dollars, we are not paying,'' Pinnick told Channels Television . ''The arrangement that the League Management has with La Liga some few years ago, you know La Liga have an office here, they pay taxes here, there are people they employ here so we have beautiful relationship with La Liga. ''We have just gotten their landing permit to fly into Uyo. They loved the Stadium when they came.''
The friendly between Nigeria and the Europa League finalists will be staged at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on May 22.
