Lol I do that often here but I never knew it doesn't go down well with some people. Other people also do it.

Uv read people calling Musa, Simon, Mikel, Onazi Jos boys.
I once called Ebere Eze Mbaise boy and there was no qualm, I really don't know how this one turned out an inferno. I blame mart101, omanballa and prolong for this because we were being reasonable until they came in. We were actually learning from each other (tbaba1234, humility and myself) until they turned it into a war then I steered clear.

I presume you an elder please always act like one whenever u wanna pass judgments and also beg you to please stop aiming digs at me every now and then, it ain't funny no more. I don't wanna be rude to some older but please stop pushing me. Do have a happy Sunday
Oh aiming digs at you? i don't even know you are the one but i knew mentioning Okija led to unwarranted tribal supremacy on a football thread,so sorry for that and happy Sunday.

And from my own end there wasn't even the faintest hint of a supremacist mind in the assertion made by Martz101. I was quite surprised to see the turn the conversation took. Something that would have been a discussion about cultural diversity, celebration and progress has passed through narrow minds and is becoming toxic.
Yes Martz had a balance view but you know what those who always pointing accusing finger at .................are real culprits when it comes to tribalism and the discussion had exposed a lot, only God can save Nigeria.

Mujtahida let's go back to football,Ezenwa is injured right now with the same ankle injury that ruled him out against Morocco at CHAN final and a second choice to Dauda at Enyimba,a WC bound keeper as second choice in NPFL look somehow

I think the Discourse should be ended before it kills this Thread, coz in the long Run, many of us on this Thread gonna be EXPOSED!

Some are itching to comment, but they don't wanna expose their true Identities - the same Identity Forgiveness is often tagged.

Let's get rid of Tribal-Supremacy Debate now, before it gets rid of this wonderful Thread.

Happy Sunday to y'all!
A good discourse that should have been educative turned to tribal supremacy and funny enough Edo and Igbo,Nigeria is in serious crisis.

Me I don't understand the sweat and heat just because someone said that the Bini Kingdom influenced parts of Igboland. Is this totally impossible given the fact of proximity between Bini and Igboland? Is it not possible that cultural cross currents between both people could have taken place in the past.

Just yesterday I was reading in a magazine that the coronation of the Obi of Onitsha is not complete without the emissaries of the Attah of Igala. So if I said igala influenced parts of Igboland (and actually we geographically contiguous with some igala communities indigenous to Anambra state sef)

The Ejubejuailo (The Ata’s pectoral Mask) is said to be gotten from the Binis. We call coconut Uno'oba meaning the coconut of the Oba of Bini possibly because the coconut came to igala land from Bini. Igalas have kin relationship with Asaba people, Yoruba (we are so linguistically close to the Yorubas) Nupe, Jukun and Igbirra people. All these cultures, must have influenced each other.

Why the frothing almost wounded sensitivity to such an assertion. For me it's even a good thing that contrary to what many think our people were relating culturally, economically and linguistically before the white man came.

Now to what you said about Arabic. Alcohol, Algebra, Almanac, alkali (in chemistry) are all Arabic words that have been anglicised.
Thug is from the Hindu thuggee, guru nko? Tycoon is from the Japanese Taigun

If countries as far as India, Arabia Japan could influence English language what about ethnic cultural groups who live so closely here in Nigeria.

That your culture was influenced by another culture does not make it weak, does not mean you are subservient to the influencing culture. Go and do an analysis of the English language and you'd be shocked how it has borrowed words from French, Latin, German, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Arabic language and yet it is the number one global language.

I was so happy today that conte benched him...
it's like him playing for Chelsea Fc has gotten to his head....whenever He is in the super eagles he plays with his shoulder high wanna take all the dead balls and keep dribbling even when not necessary and often don't pass the ball.....

he is seriously wasting our free kicks.... I will be so happy if kalu Samuel can be invited to at least compete with him in that wing role.....
he deserves to sit on the bench sometimes...
Sir are you reffering to VICTOR MOSES or who

Pls forget it Victor is the real man in eagles though he can be erratic sometimes.

Sir,Samuel Kalu to compete with Moses?pls moses deserves more respect.

The most important thing is that the guy has Nigerian roots and could have an international career with Nigeria.

These criticisms are destructive.
Iwobi should raise his head up and continue doing his things, may be he would be appreciated at the long run.

Remember Mikel Obi had the worst criticism ever but guess what, champion league winner,Europa cup,two EPL,four FA cup,two league cup and community shield.

Iwobi should strive hard to improve his game and leave the rest for fans to judge.

It would be a risk taking Ezenwa to world cup if he doesn't fully recover from his injuries..he is most likely our first team goalie, he has barely played 3 games this year..God help us, this is not looking good for us at all..he would lack match sharpness and this is even an average GK at best...
Yes you are right but did you know that Ezenwa is a second choice at Enyimba, deputising for Fatauo Dauda,so getting playing time is another issue for a WC bound keeper in Enyimba for God sake.

Kai elyte89 wetin Musa do you,the attacks too much though you have been saying but cos of Samuel Kalu you don get supporters o.

Now some want Musa or Simeon out for Samuel Kalu as a winger but some said Peter Olayinka should be the right choice not Kalu and some still see Musa as right choice.

Sadiq upgrade of Tammy? No not at present may be tomorrow.Tammy is ahead and the record are there for us to see not just talk.

U no see as I snub am dey go my way? No be everybody I dey follow argue. Ighalo scored loads of goals in his farm. He was poor in Italy, Spain and the EPL. U wanna rate him because of his exploits in the championship, the same league a poor player like Tammy was a hero? Before his injury, an aged Martins was even doing better than this so called masked man in China.

With his so called exploits(loads of goals according to Dat boy Martz10), what has he done for the Eagles in a plethora of matches despite the mammoth of chances created for him to score?

Ppl go just dey open mouth anyhow.
Sir i have repeat it here that i don't rate Ighalo cos i always see him as average player but the question do we have anyone better than him?if we have no issue.

On Ighalo load of goals, pls judge may be this is fair enough

Lyn of Oslo.......9 goals

Granada...........33 goals

Watford............33 goals

Yatau................16 goals

I think 91 career goals and still counting as a professional is fair enough though not the best

Please find one reference point not two where I have called for the inclusion of Tomori. If you can not do the honourable thing and apologise for misrepresentation.
He thought you are canvassing for Tomori Fikayo but not knowing that you already said Fikayo not ripe for Eagles despite his performance.

Only a JJC in Nigeria will dismiss these allegations off the hand. Recall how Emeka Ezeala and Berti Vogts ran things back in 08.
Hopefully, we get to know the real truth behind all the allegations but I wouldn't be surprised if the allegations were true because almost every expatriate coach in Africa get involved in one way or the other with human trafficking player agency.
I don't really trust ANz but for an agency to have 7 to 8 players in a team look somehow, hope it will not have negative effect on the team especially mundial selection.

You guys are talking as if Omeruo hasn't been given more than a few chances to show what he can do. Folks, this is not the Omeruo of 2013 any more. It's about that we realize that all our players are average except for perhaps: VicMo, Mikel, and Ndidi.

O pari
Sir my comment was based on performance of Ekong and Awaziem partnership and made it cleared that better to have Ekong/Omeruo or Balogun/Awaziem if any of Ekong or Balogun is not available for selection, meaning in the absence of Balogun we go for Ekong/Omeruo and in the absence of Ekong we go for Balogun/Awaziem cos Ekong and Awaziem partnership lacks required experience

Honestly, he's the most overrated player in this current team. He's not better than any of the Chan defenders. That's the harsh truth
I will never picked him ahead of Omeruo, him and Ekong lacks the experience as CB and their pairings always backfire, so better to pair Ekong and Omeruo or Awaziem and Balogun in case Balogun and Ekong pairing is not available for selection.

It's not like awoniyi is tearing the league apart let's not overhype him he has 7goals 5assists in 27 games, has 10goals 7assists in 31gmaes in all competition, onyekuru has been on injury since forever and still has 10 goals
Umar 8app 4goals 3assits needs just 3more goals to equal awoniyis league goals.
The Dutch league might be weak but he has faced Ajax, feernood and was impressive.
My man,pls try to get my point,am not saying Awoniyi is better or hyping him but they belong to the same class cos how on earth will someone be saying Awoniyi need to work drastically to meet up with Umar,or not the same Umar that left seria A to dutch league in January.

You are the one saying thier yardstick to comparing them both is flawed but yours is worse!
You should not judge quality based on how many matches played some players are naturally gifted. Willian had played alot of matches won trophies but if they tell you to choose between him and Asensio who I'm not sure has racked his 50app who would you choose? There is levels to this game. I love them both but cmon don't you k
1. umar is better than awoniyi on the air not just because he's taller but It's a proven strong point of umar amoury, his first serial a game for Roma at age 19 was a nice well placed header, the coach who gave him his break in the first team got sacked and since then he went on loan to bologna where injuries and lack of play time saw his game stall. The seria a is not a league for youngsters it's more experienced players. He had a wonderful preseason at Roma and was sent to be the second striker to Italy's first choice striker, he had limited game time but he still played but did not score, now he's in the edisevere where awoniyi actually struggled.
2. Umar is more direct, more skillful, more unpredictable and faster.
3. Awoniyi is the better team player and works his socks off for the team. Both of them are good at hold up plays.
I want you to watch these two players without sentiment, if you are a real football lover it's not hard to identify who the better talent is.
As regards to umar lack of game time, he has played in an Olympic competition against the very bests in the world as the top striker for us, scored and won a bronze medal trust me that exposure and experience has improved him drastically. He has 4goals and 3assits in 8games where he didn't start all
Yes Awoniyi struggled in dutch league and Umar is doing well but did you know Dessers had 25 appearance without a goal for Lokeren in the same Belgium league Awoniyi is making headlines,so sometimes not a yardstick to rate player.

I hope you know Awoniyi and Junior Ajayi were the top strikers b4 the Olympics for the U23...Awoniyi was dropped from the squad because of umar, Ajayi also lost his starting spot to Umar...

Bro you have been watching football for a while, by now you should be able to identify and dinstiguish serious talent..sometimes a player could be a late boomer and outdo his mate in the future...based on watching awoniyi and Sadiq, I can tell you sadiq is better quality to Awoniyi...I followed Awoniyi through the u17 days to the u20 and I was his fan boy...I was even initially angry that siasia would drop awoniyi in that Olympic team..it was when the tournament started i just had to accept Sadiq was better ..

Well time would tell as both their professional career unfolds..I really do have high expectations for both of them..
