BluntTheApostle:
It is the fact.

It is bitterness when you question Parker's credentials by asking who has he fought. I simply asked a counter question "who has AJ fought?"

People only mention Klischko who was already 41 and had not fought for 2 years.

If you accuse me of bitterness and you fail to accuse the anti Parker crowd of bitterness, then you are being partial.

This fight can end quickly. It doesn't take anything away from the skills of either boxer. I have been a boxing fan since I was a kid and I was in a boxing club and would have taken up the profession but for my mother. So, I know what boxing entails. If it is AJ's good day, he may even knock Parker out in less than a minute.
Sir is there anything like age in heavyweight boxing?cos saying Klitschko is 41 is out of it.

you just disappointed me with this write up...
he was never given Apple time in Italy...
during preseason he played well...but roma never give him enough time to get used to the team...to play.....
he left for torino...the presence of a top Italian striker in the team limited his opportunities...and now in the dutch league..you're trying to berate same league...

same league taiwo awoniyi could not play up to his optimal capacity....but now in the Belgian league doing better....are you going to say the Belgian league is lower to the dutch league....
even mr ajagun in Holland didn't play this well the way he currently plays in the Belgian league...

you should know by now that football don't work that way.....players can be best suited for a particular team style of play or even a league...and that will aid them to shine.
Oh you are disappointed, pls don't cos i know this game very and if am always on gentleman mode here i just need to cos is a must for me to respect people's opinions.

Pls tell me any clear pass and chance created in both match, this was the same problem faced by Iheanacho against South Africa, very obvious now that without Mikel our attackers find it hard to perform.

Yes, the same sadiq of Roma..

He has improved loads...

He has given all the top teams in Holland defences (Feyenord and PSV) headache with his directness.. He makes his own chances by his willingness to take on defenders. Ighalo and Ogbeche do not do that.

Note, i did not say he is better than Ighalo but he will certainly give defenders more to worry about than Ighalo. He still needs to work on his finishing ability.
Sir if he is not better than Ighalo then he doesn't have any business in this present squad.

Pls on Ighalo it seems you are waiting for this friendly to nail the young man.

God bless you bro. Immediately I read that Ebuehi had groin injury, I said to myself what's this groin, groin I've been hearing about since forever. I checked the meaning of groin and I shook my head.
Yesterday in the heat of the argument with my fellow eagulians I kept emphasing two points: the human body is not a machine and I asked another the meaning of groin injury. But I was baffled that them began to talk like they've never been sick and recovered forever in their lives. They took a mechanical view of the whole thing. At a point i wanted to tell them that how I wish we could get the perspective of a footballer cos experience is the best teacher. Never knew you are one. Nobody could argue against the fact that the boy was recovering from an injury. He even winced in pain and he was hesitant in making tackles.

Criticism should be fair. It should not just be for the purpose of scoring cheap points or taking pot shots at the coach as was disappointingly done yesterday.
The Law kai you are still on it.

I played the game very well and to declare a player fit for a match is not something done by the coach but medical team.

If a player is certified fit, coach will asked the player can you do it and if the player say Yes,then the player don't have any excuse for poor performance.

I know if Serbia match was official, nobody would give excuse for Ebuehi performance.

Looolll... I just knew you will take it like that because you know about how Emma Babayaro was dropped for Dosu Joseph. History classes again. wink

But still I believe He is saying the truth. Dosu Joseph was so average and not fantastic at all. Yet we win Olympic gold. We had a team that kinda managed to cover for his deficiencies.

Now do we currently have a team that can cover for our keeper's frailties since we are not taking a top class keeper to the mundial? I would say yes... Not entirely a super fantastic team but a very disciplined one that can beat anyone when at their best. In the Balogun-Ekong partnership, we have quite a solid defence and our fullbacks are also good to go. They are not world class but they have shown they can do an effective job of protecting the goalie.

What we need is a good bench to back up the first XI in those key positions and I believe we will present a good bench at the mundial.

In all, I am not downplaying the importance of a top class goalie.... Honestly, having such will be a huge asset for us, but again I have seen where teams win even with goalies not being top class. Atlanta 96 comes to mind. Even Barca with Victor Valdez when he was quite average (or maybe slightly above average as time went on) still conquered the world. wink
Sir i know much on how Babayaro was dropped and it all centred on corruption but he should forgive and forget, using that to measure this team is not acceptable, our present defenders need good keeper to excel and better for the team in general.

the earlier we tell ourselves the truth...the better for US....we don't need an Ighalo kind of striker at the world cup...
a striker who can miss 7 glaring chances
is not what the super eagles need at this time...
I think nancho we should continue with from now....
i think part of our problem in this team is rohr....his conservative nature is not helping matters....
why invite players to camp and they won't get to play a mere friendly?
why keep inviting them?
now...we don't know how ajayi, Gabriel play...if they are better...no one knows
and thats had...this friendly especaliy against Serbia would have offered him an opportunity to play ajayi and let's see how good he is...likewise Agbo and Gabriel....
so doing we will get to know how good they're and if they can displace Ighalo.
also I think dessers or sadiq umar should have been invited in place of Gabriel.....
rohr is very scared of taking risks or probably he is just too conservative
Sir we don't need Ighalo abi but you are canvassing for Junior Ajayi,Sadiq Umar and Gabriel, pls on what criteria.

Ex Super Eagles Goalkeeper – Eagles Don’t Need A Fantastic Goalkeeper To Do Well In Russia

https://i2.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_4379.jpg

Atlanta 96 Olympic gold medallist Emmanuel Babayaro says the clamour for a very good goalkeeper for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia is one issue that has been over emphasised.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive interview, the former West Ham United trialist said Nigeria should be looking at strengthening other areas of the team and not necessarily the goalkeeping department.

The duo of Francis Odinaka Uzoho of Deportivo La Coruna and Ikechukwu Ezenwa of Enyimba are in the running to man the post for Nigeria, no thanks to the ailment suffered by first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.

Babayaro down played the need for a fantastic goalkeeper at the World Cup, insisting that if other areas of the team is properly stocked, an average goalkeeper can do the job for the Eagles.

”The reason why Nigerians are clamouring for a very good goalkeeper is because of the amount of goal scoring opportunities we give opponents during games. Which is directly a fault of the defenders and not the goalkeeper “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

"Vincent Enyeama has done well for us in the last two World Cups, and the best his display has given us is to reduce the score line as other departments didn’t do what was expected of them.

”As a country we presently can’t boast of a goalkeeper of Enyeama’s quality but it’s not a necessity as being mentioned by many. For instance with all due respect to Dosu Joseph, the reason behind our triumph at the Olympics wasn’t because he was a fantastic goalkeeper.

”We won gold at the 1996 Olympics because other departments of the team made up for our short comings elsewhere. First of all we need a very good defence set up to provide cover for whoever is picked to man the post by coach Gernot Rohr. That should be our priority now”, he concluded.

Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 76 days 16 hours 34 mins to go
The question is do we have a fantastic team to accommodate very average keeper.

I think this post is just to tell fans that he was better than Dosu Joseph at Atlanta 96.

A good team need solid keeper and clearly we don't have a team that can absorbed unnecessary pressure,so better to have a good keeper.

The goals came from his angles cos of the space...... But that goal started from a stupid clearance from the CBs.

I'm sure Shehu will always be a starter.... he's more Bellerin-ic than Ebuehi. Not taking anything from Ebuehi atall.

As for striker, can't we find one that would play the Benzema style for the GWG; scoring isn't necessary but opening others up is....
If scoring isn't necessary but opening others up then Ideye Brown is available.

The coach has no confidence in Agbo. I doubt, he will make the WC.

Rohr appears to be more focused on getting the right tactical formula than getting new players. I see him experimenting more with tactics than with players.
If Rohr doesn't have confidence in Agbo why continue invitation, likely a powerful man in NFF or agent is forcing Agbo on Rohr cos something is fishing.

Remember Agbo was dropped from the team against Cameroon or South Africa but after few days of releasing the list he was recalled, something is wrong somewhere and better for Rohr to act fast cos we can't be wasting space when we have players who are eager to play for Nigeria.

Are we building for the future or we just want immediate gains today? Even if we go to the world cup and get humiliated at least we gained valuable experience. Germany started a project in 2006 and it came to fruition in 2014. Rohr knows what he is doing.
Sir there is one thing we should get here regards eagles invitation, any Nigerian playing competitive football regardless of his age has every right to eagles if Rohr extend invitation to him.

If anyone is suggesting Austin Ejide,Aiyenugba or Enyeama, good cos they are still active but left for Rohr to decide as a coach.

If Rohr believe it's Uzoho good for the team and if he believe there is need to call Ejide and Aiyenugba even Enyeama all well and good, what matter most is our performance.

Sir are you saying we are going to WC to build for future cos am hearing this tone often on this thread, some are even saying our performance doesn't matter and Rohr should be given life contract.

I think this is our sixth WC attempts and i will not deceive you Nigerians are expecting clear cut performance from eagles, anything short of this is not acceptable, forget the team is for the future slogans.

Truly we have a very young squad that will give us a good platform for 2022 WC but not an excuse for poor performance at WC.

I remember Senegal went to 2002 WC with relatively young team and reached quarter final even defeated France the defending champion. So we can do it too cos the talents are abound.

I think the team is evolving and i know Rohr as a season coach will do thorough appraiser of the friendlies matches played so far to address the grey area for better performance.

Well opinion differs.......we're entitled to our different opinions
Check the game we played Onazi and games we played without him. He forgets his role as a DM and go for every ball and leaves acre of space for opposition to punish. Football has gone beyond that stage.
He marks well ..... Yes
He dribbles ..... Occasionally.
Needless tackles and take ons - Yes
But his duty is to shield the back 4 which he does but leaves them unshielded as the game progressed.

What did you notice in the Polish and Serb game?
Ndidi's job was to shield the back 4 and he gave a beautiful rendition in that game. It was like we were playing with 5 defenders.

Onazi was to do suit against the Serb, he was suspect most times and leaving his Right DM position to follow every ball . Where was he in the first goal scored by the Serbs?

The games he lived up to the billing since after the 2014 WC were the double header against Cameroon.

I'm not saying he should be dropped but he should be talked to at every point in the game to maintain his position (not chasing and running after every ball played to the midfield) we have other midfielders too.

Be truthful to yourself score the DMs we paraded against Poland and the Serbs. The game vs the Serbs was just a typical repeat of the S.A. defeat.
OK Sir different opinions cos we view the game differently and good we are not coach.
