Yes you are right,Ebere Obi of heartland fc Mikel's senior bro and Psquare were mate at PEPSI academy not Mikel.

Omo, Martins is at least 45 years old. Forget about all that 35 year old crap you hear .... that's his "football age".

I mean, he might be able to hack it in China but playing in the World Cup is a totally different ball game to playing in China. I don't think that Martins can last even 45 mins in high level, high intensity game. I was actually suggesting that Rohr should organize a separate training regiment for Ighalo and Mikel in the summer when they come to camp ... to help them with fitness, because I don't trust that Chinese league at all. Now you want to bring along an aged man like Oba Martins from the same mediocre league? No thanks grin

O pari
Sir,Obafemi Martins is not 45 years old.He went to Italy with my far younger cousin whom they are of the same age range through Churchill Oliseh.

He started at a very young age and luck to hit it straight at Inter Milan from Nigeria.Mind you Martins didn't play Nigeria league.

If Rohr feel that Martins can do it,let him come to camp and prove himself.

Modified.... unfortunately Martins is out for six months,so no WC chance for him.

Snubbed England For Nigeria – Technical Report Plus Facts About Man Utd Rising Star Tosin Kehinde

https://i2.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/IMG_4350.jpg

It’s no longer news that Manchester United fast rising teen prospect Tosin Kehinde has pledged his international future to Nigeria ahead of England as first reported by Owngoalnigeria.com.

However many Nigerians still don’t know the qualities of the 19 year old and how he will fit into the playing system of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, as well as his qualities as a midfielder.

England based Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent Michael James profiles the Lagos born midfielder with facts as well as his best position on the pitch of play especially this season for the Reserves of the Premier League giants.

1. Kehinde was born in Lagos but raised in the United Kingdom, where he turned out for Tottenham Hotspur before signing for Manchester United at the age of 13.

2. He made his debut for the U21s of Man United at the age of 16 coming on as a substitute in their win over Wolves. A sign of how well he is rated at the club.

3. He has trained with the first team of Manchester United severally this season. Something he said wasn’t his aim at the start of the season, as he was focused on pinning down a regular spot in the Reserve team.

4. Primarily a central midfielder in the mould of Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel, although he is a bit quicker. He has also impressed playing from the left flank this season.

5. An astute passer with a high positional sense, he has added goal scoring to his game, and his goal against Chelsea was nominated for the club’s Goal of the month award for September.

kanu was never a top 9 but often play as 8....

he was a striker if he does not score goals...he can help others score goals...

what can you say of Ighalo in that regard?
Sir i know you don't rate Ighalo just like me but that doesn't mean we should not talk football as it's irrespective of our stance on a player.

It seems you didn't watched Cameroon match both home and away cos you said he brings nothing to the team.

Ighalo sold a dummy to a Cameroonian defender for Mikel to score and in away match he worked his socks off and gave a solid assistance for Simeon Moses's goal.Pls try and watch both home and away match

On Kanu as number 8 in eagles, pls there is no justification for it cos i can tell you three eagles players who are not top 9 but have good goal ratio and assists than Kanu and also two wingers who have better goal ratio.

1.Segun Odegbami was a winger with superb goal ratio with great assists

2.Samson Yebowei Siasia was another great SS who has very good goal ratio and wonderful assists, between 1987-1992 he was instrumental to most of the goals scored by Yekini, try and watch Nigeria 4 vs South Africa 0.

3.Daniel Amokachie another fabulous SS whose goal ratio was awesome and assists. He was a perfect partner with Yekini at Tunis 94 and US 94.

4.Emma Amuneke played as a winger and was solid with good goal ratio despite having minimal appearance for Eagles.

5.Finidi George played as a winger with better goal ratio than Kanu and his assists for Yekini against Burkina Faso still remain all time assists in a single match despite being a debutant.

Sir Kanu remain my favorite player but as number 8 or SS his goal ratio was too damn poor compared to Amokachie and Siasia who also played as number 8 throughout their Eagles career.

Yakubu, Martins, Agali, Ike Uche had better scoring rates..

Kelechi has had a better return in his national team career so far..

.....may be we should extend invitationn to Obafemi Martins and Ike Uche cos they are still active.

Kanu was not a top striker for Nigeria and he was usually a support striker. And yes, even then his goal return was poor but he had other contributions. Important assists and all.

Iheanacho is not ordinary..
Agreed Kanu was not a top striker but Daniel Amokachie, Samson Siasia,Osaze,Segun Odegbami,Emmanuel Amuneke were not top strikers in eagles even Stephen Keshi and they have good goal ratio.

Kanu goal ratio for eagles was damn too poor, check it out 5 afcons as super regular no goal,3 WC no goal.

I don't think being a supporting striker should be a yardstick to justify Kanu poor goal ratio in eagles.

Kanu overall contribution was awesome but goal ratio not good to talk about.

Now, it is obvious that you are actually very stupid and uneducated.

I mean, only a stupid person would say that age does not matter in heavyweight boxing. We are talking about a game of power and endurance and speed and you are talking nonsense about age not being a major factor. If age is not a factor, why don't uninjured champs continue to fight past their prime? Why retire if age does not matter? Can Falilat Ogunkoya (even if she is willing to return) dominate the track against younger athlete as she did at a younger age? We are talking biology, you are talking nonsense. Why do people slow down with age? Can Arnold Schwarzenegger still lift stuffs as he did many years back?
Good you are now a man instead of throwing jabs indirectly, lovely for taking you out of your shell.Kudos.

BluntTheApostle:
Calm down. I said your question (not you) was stupid but you quickly rushed to attack me. Smh. Many of you are just kids. Better grow up.

Anyway, age has a lot to do with it. That Buffon played till 39 does not mean every goalkeeper would be able to. One of the reasons AJ gave during the buildup toward Klischko's fight was that he would knock out Klischko because he (AJ) was younger and fresher. Age is vital in rigorous activities like boxing. If you are over 40 and you are fighting a younger man, age would be one of your disadvantages, no matter how hard you try to cover it.

Vitali was 37 when he fought Samuel Peters and even though he was constrained by age, he had the advantage of height and reach and the only way Samuel could land a punch was to come closer. And you know you can't win a defensive Vitali by trying to fight in the inside. Moreover, Vitali is not Wladmir. Moreover, Wladmir had no such advantage against Joshua. Both men were the same height and probably reach.
Kid am off, always come out straight and feel free to attack instead of dodging,be a man and it would be better for your life.

My question is stupid but am not stupid, pls not ready for clown like you.

I repeat it again continue wallowing in your stupidity Mr BluntBoy or BluntTheApostle.
Sports › Re: Anthony Joshua Defeats Joseph Parker (Live Thread) by Kog45(m):
BluntTheApostle:
Age matters a lot in sports, including boxing.

You can't compare the speed and strength of Klischko at 41 and Klischko at a younger age. Do you think Okocha can still play as energetically as he did when he was 20-30?

I am sorry to write that your question was stupid. Age plays a lot in boxing. As Anthony Joshua grows older, he would be losing some of his speed and power. It is biological. Even a child should know that. Lennox Lewis is one of the greats of boxing. If he returns to the ring, he can never be the same Lennox Lewis even if he is fit. His movement would be slower and he won't have the powerful punches he used to give.
Oh my question is stupid cos you are senseless for not able to grab simple point.

Pls answer me is there anything like age in boxing, pls answer me idiot. What has age got to do with it,pls MR STUPIDITY answer me.

Okay tell me how old was Vitali Klitschko(1971) when he beat Samuel Peters(1980),Old Vitali came out after four years lay off to beat young Peters, see your foolishness and you are coming here to tell me how age slow people down in sports,do you need to tell me that to drive your points.

Well i don't expect anything less from online cat like you who looks at the mirror and see himself as a Tiger.

.

what makes you think...rohr resorted try nancho as a top 9 against Algeria and the likes.....
Sir let's put the record straight, against Tanzania Ighalo led the attack but missed Zambia match in Ndola due to his Father's burial.

Iheanacho led the attack against Algeria and South Africa but due to his performance Ighalo was brought back as a leading striker against Cameroon both home and away and against Zambia

Due to injury Ighalo missed Algeria and Argentina match which gave room for Nwakaeme against Algeria and Nacho against Argentina until recently Poland and Serbia match that he came back into the team.

Honestly i wasn't surprised with criticism that trails his performance against Poland and Serbia cos Iheanacho had similar criticism after Algeria and South Africa match.

One thing is glaring our strikers will always find it hard with what our midfield displayed against Poland and Serbia, check it out,why are we always struggling without Mikel, against South Africa,Poland and Serbia and we keep on blaming our strikers.

Pls go and watch these three matches again and look at it critically may be our strikers are the issue.

there is nothing to compare between Ighalo and kanu...
kanu was a player who always come alive when it matter most....
I still remember his assist to utaka during the afcon 2004...Match wit Cameroon...
also him coming to get us two goals...against Gabon in worldcup/afcon qualifying match in river state....that match was heading to a draw....this and many more we see kanu rescue this super eagles in dangerous times...

he was a player whose passes the team always count on when it matters most...

can Ighalo do same?
that's the question you and sir kog4 should answer....it's not about records of goals scored compared to kanu....... even in the goals ratio Ighalo is not even faring better...I doubt kanu was ever played as a top 9
Good Mujtahida has answer you.I did not compare Kanu and Ighalo but telling you to balance things up like his stats with eagles and let reason with your submission, saying Sadiq,Dessers are better is not the issue cos it's your opinion and I respect it.

Sir i think Ighalo caps is not much for you to let us know those chances created and missed by him.

Truly his goal ratio was not good enough but we need to balance things up.

I remember King KANU Nwankwo had 87 caps with 12 goals, five afcons with no goals and three WC no goals despite his very poor goal ratio with eagles, fans still balance things up to rate him.

Pls let us know Ighalo all round stats with eagles, goals, assists then we can justify your submission on him.
