TheSuperNerd: Honestly Sir ehn... I just pray Uzoho puts up a good show against Poland or Serbia. And that Akpeyi's GWG maniac attack do not strike again. Ezenwa as first choice for world cup go cut my heart everytime I see team lineup come June/July. He will make the team eventually, me I know because of his showings during the WCQs. Rohr said he has earned his place in the team and I think that will make Rohr reward him with a place on the plane to Russia. But I hope he won't be first choice. Honestly Rohr and Ezenwa/Akpeyi remind me of Westerhoff and Alloy Agu |

TheSuperNerd: Yes... I know that. And I knew someone will point this out but what I didn't wanna mention in much details is that his own was so bad. His positioning gaan sef was zero. Chaaaiii... Atrocious goalkeeping from Ezenwa on a couple of occasions in the game. I fortunately saw a good part of the match report from a source close to me and it is no different from the one below by Dami Ugbame of KweseESPN. Just no wan give myself high bp biko. Make friday kuku come.
Dami Ugbame's KweseESPN extract:
Okonkwo shines, Ezenwa struggles for Enyimba: Chinonso Okonkwo was undoubtedly the standout Enyimba player against Energie of Benin Republic, as the People's Elephant progressed to the Confed Cup play-off round. The attacking midfielder netted a brace and could have easily helped himself to a hat-trick in the 3-2 home win during a thoroughly excellent display. While Okonkwo was clearly delighted without his outstanding contribution, the same couldn't be said for Ikechukwu Ezenwa, whose Enyimba debut could best be described as shaky. The Nigeria international goalkeeper conceded two goals against the Beninoise team, including a direct free kick, and generally failed to replicate the commanding performances of Fatau Dauda. It was a worrying performance by the stopper, who's expected to be Nigeria's Number One at the upcoming World Cup. On the basis of this showing, Gernot Rohr may be set for a few sleepless nights between now and the summer.
Source: http://kwese.espn.com/football/nigeria/story/3426054/mixed-fortunes-for-nigerian-clubs-in-caf-competition?device=featurephone TheSuperNerd no short cut to performance in football, if you are not good enough you are not, there is no two ways to it. I still repeat it hope Rohr know what he is doing regards our keepers or else he lose it. |

tbaba1234: What to expect from Poland..
1. Rarely keep clean sheets.. Poland kept only 2 clean sheets in the European qualifiers.. They seem to always concede.
2. Lewandowski is key... He does everything for poland, freekicks, penalties, everything!!
3. They win a lot of penalties... Expect Lewandowski to go down if you give him a reason to.
4.Corner kicks are dangerous.. This game will be good practise for defending corners. Whao Lewandowski remind me of exploit of Nigeria born EMMANUEL OLISADEBE who played for Poland and singlehandedly took polish team to WC scoring 8 goals out of total 10. Emma is a good friend who started his football career playing on bare ground of university of Ilorin in the 90s,I remember our time together playing departmental games, faculty cup,VC cup,NUGA games, and Governor's cup in Ilorin metropolis. Emma Olisadebe was born footballer and very rear to see such a star in the university,he played for fun not even thinking of becoming professional talk less of playing for a national team especially European national team cos he loved super eagles with a passion. Olisadebe rise to prominent started when he was discovered by university of Ilorin school coach Amusa Adisa ex international and former eagles assistant coach who discovered the likes of Vincent Enyeama,Austin Ejide,Dele Aiyenugba and Seyi Olofinjana. He became a rising star in international football when he was invited for world university game with the likes of Seyi Olofinjana, old war horse Olaolu Ashaolu,Yemi Akinyanju,Edith Agoye. Coach Fanny Amu was the head coach of Nigeria to world university game and really surprised to see such a talented player in the university, to the extent highest goals scorer in Nigeria league Edith Agoye need to sit on the bench for Olisadebe at university games in Italy. After university games coach Fanny Amu with assistance of coach Adisa convinced Emma to play for Jasper United and Jude Ezechuckwu came down to Ilorin to appeal to Emma.He had a season with Jasper and left for Poland, waited patiently for national call but wasn't considered,he opted for Polish team. He turned polish team to a dreaded team and ensured they qualified for 2002 WC as one of the highest goal scorer in Europe. He had a WC goal against USA and won Poland sportman of the year, also nominated for world footballer of the year. I think we still have players like Emma Olisadebe in our various tertiary institutions but left for our local coaches to discover such rare talents. |

asha80: errrm didnt see the match or goals but any goal keeper can concede from direct free kicks na Yes you are right but the fans were not impressed with his performance compared to their first choice Dauda. Enyimba won the match with late penalty awarded with scoreline 3-2 though they won the first leg 2 nil. |

forgiveness: Enyimba fans were not impressed with his performance against the Benin Republic side. They are doubting his abilities.. Impressed with who,so they think Ezenwa is better than Fatauo Dauda, they must be on long thing. I can tell anyone who care to listen that Ezenwa is not better than Ajiboye,Olorunleke Ojo and Femi Thomas but still have Cameroon and Zambia match going for him in the national team, nothing more. Hope Uzoho nail it and Shaking Akpeyi shrug off field fright but am seeing a keeper gatecrashed into the team and likely home based. |

TheGoodJoe: I did not mean to drag the thread back but I want to point out something I saw no one pointed out about the first goal Leicester City conceded.
I think the major culprit false to Morgan. His job was simple. Keep Morata quiet. When Willian made the break, Maguire was going to stop Willian with some other players going after Willian. Morgan left Morata free to go after an already covered Willian. This gave Willian the chance to exploit the gap created by Morgan and Morata exploiting the space to bury the ball in the back of the net. Oga thegoodjoe if I may ask why all these analysis on Leicester team cos i do not understand o. First it was Iheanacho and Mahrez and see guys apportioning blames, later Ndidi and Kante supremacy now Morgan. Pls let's talk on Nigeria friendlies coming up |

A honest analysis of Kelechi performance can not be done without argument. For some, he can do little wrong.. Some are sometimes over-critical.

Icon4s: Yeah you remind me of the other members of that team. Andrew Uweh also made the Maroc '88 team. He had a descent outing though. What ever happened to Waheed Akanni, dude just fizzled out so quickly after a great outing in Moscow '85. He was a house hold name though in the Nigerian league. Same goes for Obobaifo and Igbinabaro. Alloy Agu became Super Eagles number 1 from 1990 to 92.
That Flying Eagles team lost 2-0 to a stars studded Brazilian team in the semis. We played better than them if you recall. Monday Odiaka was a joint highest highest goal scorer in that WYC. As for him competing with Yekini , even greats like Victor Ikpeba and Jonathan Akpoborie could not displace the Yeking of goals. Waheed Akanni is presently top gun in Lagos state sports circle.I think he work with Lagos state government regards sports. In the 80s most of these guys value education even more than football, you should remember Akanni left for United States with Dehinde Akinlotan,Niyi Aderinoku known as OBODO now a big time oil magnate,Tajudeen Disu junior bro to coach Tunde Disu,Fatai Atere,Jonathan Akpoborie,Mike Emenalo,Augustine Igbinabaro,Mark Anunobi,Godwin Ekeh,Paul Okoku to further their education. They went on MKO Abiola scholarship and some went through Chief Nathaniel Idowu the Father of great Athlete Phillip Idowu of Great Britain and some with the assistance of Anthony Ikhazoboh,Patrick Okpomo,Emeka Omeruo, and SB Williams. In the 80s guys mixed sports with education and they are happy for it now |

Humility017: I am deeply concerned...regarding his willingness to remain a Chelsea player...when it is obvious for all to see that Chelsea don't have him in their plans... he keep extending his contract season after season.......then Chelsea offload him on loan to a championship or a Turkish club...
he should seek a permanent leave... Well said but sometimes player can't forced their way out and player's wages need to be met or a little bit lowered wages can be acceptable by both parties and remember Chelsea we want to cash on him cos he signed another contract meaning still in Chelsea plan. I think Moses should thank Conte for believing in him if not he would have been out on loan again though difficult for players when on loan but they can't forced themselves out when no club is ready to do business, just hear it Kasimpasa don't have the cash to pull the deal. Mikel moved to China just cos Valencia are not even ready to.pay £80k he received at Chelsea, difficult decision to decide and remember these guys are Africans just like South Americans, money is the drive. |

Icon4s: Ndubuisi Okosieme. He was a product of the 1985 Flying Eagles. He alongside Monday Odiaka and Samson Siasia were some of the standout performers from that class.
But just like most other youth players of his time he failed to perform at the senior level.
Odiaka and Okosieme made the Maroc '88 Green Eagles team. A lot was expected of this duo but they didn't leave up to expectations.
The memories of his miss against Cameroon in that final still flashes through my memories alongside the disappointing scream from the late commentator Earnest Okonkwo: "Okosieme ooooo!!!!! ".
That was the last time we saw Ndubuisi Okosieme in the Super Eagles
Full of promises but failed to deliver at the senior level.
His younger Sister Nkeiruka Okosieme featured with the golden generation of the Super Falcons (late 90s to mid 2000s) Whao what a history! Yes a member of Paul Halmjton U 20 team to Russia 85 but a fringe one who had only 7 minutes appearance against Canada cos we have better player In Augustine Igbinabairo. This team produced Samson Siasia,Monday Odiaka,Osaro Obabaifo,Augustine Igbinabairo,Waheed Akanni,Andrew Uwe,Alloy Agu,Christian Obi,Ndubuisi Okosieme,Mike Anunobi,Niyi Adeleye,Godwin Ekeh,Mike Odu,Michael Dominic,Wasiu Ipaye,Kingsley Onye,Ike Ukeogu At Maroc 88 Okosieme had a good tourney cos i remember he had a goal against Kenya and in the final gave that superlative cross to Henry Nwosu which was disallowed for no reason. He had Wole Odegbami to contend with and their situation can be likened to that of Finidi and Tijani but that missed well one of those thing in football. Yes Monday Odiaka failed woefully cos he was a player everyone expected to lighten maroc 88 but the presence of Yekini was just too overwhelming for him and his great partner Samson Siasia was not released by Lokeren for Afcon.A lot later realised that Siasia was the brain behind Odiaka,he fizzle out after Maroc 88 Truly Okosieme despite the talents failed to live up to expectations and still surprised why he left the stage so early cos i still remember his days in Flash Flamingos of Benin and ACB,this guy was damn good, great guy with Siasia in Flamingos. |

And how can you use Awaziem first match in GWG to judge that he's not good in a 4man defence system?? you know the pressure involved in first experiences. Again stop it, don't tell me Ebuehi is not good in a 4 man defence when he hasn't played in such set in super eagles. are players not meant to take their club positions in the national team set up. Sorry if you misunderstood my comments earlier, i have nothing against you. we are just sharing ideals here.
