. It pisses me when i read comments like this "Omeruo is better than Awaziem in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation but Awaziem is better in a 3-5-2 formation" on what basis do you people come about such ridiculous fact? Thesame Omeruo that keeps going from one loan move to another, better than Awaziem that is doing very fine in French League 1? That's how some said here that Shehu is better than Ebuehi in 4 man defence but Ebuehi is better in a 3 man defence, as if the former is player in a 4 man defence at his club. Make una no dey give excuses for all these below average players abeg. Omeruo my foot!
It can be ridiculous to you but that's my opinion based on their performance in Eagles and Omeruo getting loans should not be the yardstick in this case.

I watched Awaziem against South Africa in 4-3-3 formation and he struggle all through and had a performance that should be forgotten but watching him against Argentina especially in the 2nd half in 3-5-2 the guy looked solid and fit in.

That's my reason for picking Awaziem as the best in 3-5-2 formation,if he prove it in 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 in any of our friendlies,no issue but for now I know him as better defender in 3-5-2 based on his performance with eagles.

I think those who are of opinions that Shehu is good at 4-4-2 and Ebuhei at 3-5-2 are using Super eagles to analyse it and not their club cos not everyone has access to the club clips,so they have a very valid point until Ebuhei prove them wrong in 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation.

If you don't rate Omeruo no issue cos it's your opinion which i must respect and i think my opinion too should be respected.

This is football thread and not necessarily to be on the same page cos we always view it in different ways.

Nigeria's Garrincha: Victor Moses, Iwobi, Ndidi Will Be Too Hot For Argentina, Croatia To Handle

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/64364Moses2.jpg

Former Super Eagles winger Ndubuisi Okosieme has opined that Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho will be Nigeria's key men at the World Cup and the quartet will cause Argentina, Croatia and Iceland problems.

Not taking into account the forfeited match against Algeria, Nigeria scored 11 goals during the African World Cup qualifiers with the quartet contributing to seven goals.

Moses, Iwobi, Ndidi and Kelechi have been named in Nigeria's 28-man roster for the international friendlies against Poland and Serbia later this month.

''I must confess to you that Rohr is doing very well. I went through the 28-man list that he just released for the two international friendlies and I concluded that Eagles mean business,'' Okosieme said to Nigerian Telegraph.

''I’m very happy with the current form of four of our players in top clubs in England. I see Moses, Iwobi, Iheanacho and Ndidi as players that will give Argentina and Croatia trouble.

''They will be too hot for our opponents to handle. Looking at the young crops of talented players we have in that list, Eagles will do wonders in Russia.''

Ndubuisi Okosieme, who was labelled the Nigerian Garrincha during his playing days, represented the Super Eagles at the 1988 African Cup of Nations.

Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 88 days 2 hours to go
Ndubuisi Okosieme is a senior bro to Nkiru Okosieme of Old Falcons team that represent Nigeria at maiden edition of women WC.

Ndubuisi Okosieme was member of Nigeria Maroc 88 team and highly respected by then coach Manfred Hoener. He normally inter changed Okosieme and Wole Odegbami another good dribbler a junior bro to Segun Odegbami.

I know a lot rate Finidi George and Tijani Babangida but if we want to talk of real traditional winger then great Segun Odegbami,Wole Odegbami,Uwem Ekarika,Benji Nzeakor,Emma Okocha Jayjay senior bro and wonder boy Ndubuisi Okosieme.

Ndubuisi Okosieme was solid player with great flair on the ball, pacy, skillful and wizard when it comes to dribbling and i will never forget one of his dribbling against Cameroon at Maroc 88 that left his marker on the ground.

Honestly i don't know why Ndubuisi left football so early cos after Maroc 88 he left the stage and only remember him after i saw his sister Nkiru in the the falcon team with Chioma Ajunwa of Atlanta fame,Ann Chiejene and Florence Omagbemi

Sir Kog45 do you know Omeruo did not play in the South African match? . It was Ekong and Awaziem that played at the heart of the defence. Omeruo has played just one full match since Rohr and that was the match against Zambia in Lusaka where he slipped and a goal was scored.
Am talking about Nigeria vs South Africa match which ended 2-2 with Keshi in charge.

I think South Africa match did not help Omeruo cause and he still repeat the same mistake against Zambia despite posing a solid performance but i think if he can consolidate on his Argentina performance then he is on his way to Russia.

You have spoken my mind. Apart from being poor he tends to be jittery. He himself said so much in an interview I watched about his performance in the first half against Zambia. If you recall in our match at home to cameroun he took him some time before he stabilised. Meanwhile Ekong gets into stride from the blast of the whistle. Ekong makes mistakes but he is always confident. Please watch our match with Argentina again, watch Balogun's movement you will find that the confidence wasn'tfootball Sometimes I don't mind mistakes but just be confident.

Like you noted Omeruo came in and solidified the defence. Me I'm always switching ooo from player to player based on performance. I am faithful to quality and performance not to any player per se. For now I trust Omeruo than Balogun. Yet it is that same Omeruo many here are touting should give way for young inexperienced German born players. Omeruo is not just experienced. He has also been playing regularly for his club unlike Echiejile. There's no experienced quality in our backline oooo.
Yes you are spot on on Balogun but i believe a fit Balogun is a better choice and also Omeruo i knew should be in 23 man squad cos in 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 Omeruo is better than Awaziem but in 3-5-2 I will go for Awaziem.

Good to for us that we have options for our different formations and hope to see a very fit defenders at WC.

Oh Echiejele only sentiments will take him to WC,nothing more cos no short cut to performance in football cos we have been saying it that he has lost his form but some argued it but what are we seen now with his club performance, poor form.

this kind of result only makes one question the football knowledge of our local coaches.

If you must concede, must you concede this much? Poor tactics/strategy.

No wonder most European clubs will always want npfl players to go on trial before signing them
I thought Liverpool beat Porto 6 nil meaning Porto coach lacks football knowledge in tactics and strategy.

Not defending local coach, really they need to improve but sometimes heavy defeat happen in football not that coach is worse.

I feel Rohr does not have that full confidence in Omeruo because he has left him out a few times. That is why he is looking at the German boys. It is more than likely that he will be the culprit if one of the them joins the team.
I get your point and am not saying Omeruo should not be dropped but the German trio must earn it with performance.

Yes Ekong,Awaziem, and Balogun and possibly Omeruo if he can convince Rohr more.

Soro niyen? Na talk be that? I swear some of us are infected with an obsession for anything foreign. Truth is I have often canvassed for the inclusion of foreign born players but to just open wide our legs and say a player like the German born guys should have automatic slots(yes it's automatic if it's given to them without them giving performances to merit it) is shocking to me.

If Gabriel Okechukwu or Ajayi are given an automatic slots we would condemn it to high heavens but for Torunarigha it's automatic. Is that how to build a team?

Did Mikel, Moses, Onazi, Ndidi or all those we are sure are going to Russia get automatic slots? Didn't they merit their places as first teamers through consistent top level performance? Or on the bench because of their showings?

Foreign, home, naija born, London born or German the benchmark is performance. Nothing less
I used to tell you some of us are really foreign freak and we intend to be biased when it comes to sensitive issues.

Think of it we lowered the standard of goalkeeping to division three even regional league just to absorbed the FB but truth be told it's absurd considering a youth keeper with no experience for super eagles even if keeper like Akpeyi is not convincing.

Now to Bundesliga trio,i specifically watched Uduokhai and Akpoguma this season and of late Torunarigha. No doubt they are good guys that will add value to our team but not on automatic slots especially for WC.

Uduokhai,Akpoguma and Torunarigha are normal footballer like what we have presently with no clear distinct except having real fundamental basic knowledge of football which cannot be taken away from them but without sentiments attached ,it would be a huge task for them to displace any defenders even Omeruo

I see some criticising Omeruo for best reason know to them forgetting this is a young lad with WC experience and is doing well for his club though tbaba1234 said he should be blamed for his side three goals but we forgot that if we want to base it on weekly performance some of our players would not smell national team

They cannot be having outstanding weekly performance always,so normal to have one or two matches that they failed to live upto expectations but that should not be a yardstick to judge them or to make us believe they are not good enough cos of some foreign born players who turned us down but seeing WC as an avenue to explore.

WC slot to Torunarigha would be a greatest mistake from Rohr and NFF cos it can destabilize the unity of the team and they should take a cue from Cameroon national team who did similar thing for the likes of Assou Ekotto, they paid dearly for it.

Let these FBs come to camp and prove that they are better just like Ebuhei,Idowu and Aina did recently and the team would be better for it.

Not against the German guys but they should prove to us that they are better and convincing

But I just feel he deserves a place on the plane... Even if as second choice left back or left wing back.... One of idowu, ainá and ebuehi will have to drop
I got your point on Echiejele but my question do we really missed Echiejele at 2014 WC when Oshaniwa stepped in for him.

Truly very experience but his club situation is pathetic cos not able to cut in Turkish league with a very lowly club and moved to Belgium 2nd division and not regular, meaning his experience is no longer valuable. On a good day he should be a rally point at 2nd division being an international player with WC experience.

Experience is more valuable when a player impact is always felt check out Mikel,Vic Moses and Onazi in GWG in recent time, they are valuable to the team.

I think Echiejele only have one option to make the team and is to prove himself in camp, anything less than this he is out and bookmark me he will not be missed just like at 2014 WC.

Brazil's 18 y/o GK Chijioke Phillip Ejimadu (Nacional of Sao Paulo) has been called up by USA under 20 team for a friendly. He has Nigerian, Brazilian and USA citizenship

CC: Chriskels, Icon4s
I remember we had discussion on possibility of getting FBs for our youth team especially U20 and i was of opinion that it will be a huge task for NFF to succeed cos of it's antecedent when it cones to solid program for football development.

If not of recent or let me say the euphoria of WC qualification that made it compulsory for us to engage in friendlies,i don't think NFF is damn serious when it comes to well organized friendlies.

Now we are talking about invitation of our young lads based outside Nigeria and the only way is to organise friendlies but we all know that NFF always find it difficult to organize ordinary friendly match for Super eagles when it matter most.Pls can the same NFF arrange friendlies for U 20 which is capital NO then how do we get these guys

I remember icon4s made a solid suggestions regard U 20 and I told him to channel it to NFF straight cos we have bunch of unserious officers, remember Shehu Abdullahi yellow card that almost cost us WC ticket.

I will not deceive you getting these guys for U 20 is not that easy,i remember i was talking about logistics like flight tickets and other issues cos we have NFF that preferred to waste money on unnecessary things.

What about the coaches, are they ready to give these FBs the opportunities, remember how Sammy Ameobi came to U 20 camp and was dropped but the same season made Newcastle first team.

Apart from young Nigerian Brazilian keeper,we have many out there willing to play but are we ready to absorb them.into the system.

Really surprised that USA can beat us to the guy meaning they are more serious and their technical committee members are doing well in monitoring players who are eligible to play for US.

Sir till today is NFF saying anything regards Deji who wrote personal letter that he want to play for Nigeria but very soon the guy would be another Alaba.

Pls look at Otigba case and wondering how some people want to play down the negatives effect of player who rejected Euro tournament just to play for Nigeria but waited with no call.

Not necessarily we should call all FB but the special ones deserves our attention or else we keep on losing players to other countries and the only way is integrate them through youth system.

Y0ruba:
Saraki’s paternal grand father was from Abeokuta, he lived in Ivory Coast.

Saraki’s own father grew up under a one time Ambassador of Nigeria to Ivory Coast who was from Ilorin. He was instrumental in Saraki’s father’s participation & eventual growth in Ilorin/Kwara’s politics.

Senate President Saraki’s claim to Ilorin is hinged on the Ambassador’s compound where there is an Quranic school at the moment. The man’s compound & relatives already denied Saraki ever being part of them.

Saraki has no ‘family compound’ Ilorin to reflect his 200 years ago Futa Toro migration in Ilorin. His ancestral tree in Ilorin started with Saraki’s own father, a 20th century personage.

Saraki is an Ilorin man with Egba ancestry, QED.
Pls stop misleading people here and be accurate in your assertion so that we can learn from history.

If i may ask who is the ambassador in question? Okay if you don't know the ambasdador is Alhaji Abdulrazak SAN a very senior citizen and one of the first northern Lawyer. He is the Father of Senator Khairat Abdulrazak Gwadabe.

Alhaji Abdulrazak was a very good friend of Bukola grand father know as Mutairu(la bidjan)in Abidjan and they met in old Ivory Coast now cote d voire.Alhaji Abdulrazak was ambassador representing Nigeria and Bukola's grandfather was a highly successful businessman who reside in Abidjan

The old Saraki and Ambassador Abdulrazak friendship blossomed and Olushola Saraki who was Bukola's Father came into picture when he was introduced to Ambassador.

This made Ambassador to tell old Saraki that he should try and make sure Olushola Saraki observe every Muslim festival in Ilorin being from Ilorin and Old Saraki obliged. This was how Olushola was forced to be observing festivities in Ilorin and had a great friend in Babatunde Alanamu who they grew up together and shared a lot of things and this facilitated his foray into politics.

Sir do you know that Saraki compound is in Agbaji in Ajikobi area and his family his house is a central point where prominent Agbajis gathered and relates but surprising you are tellng us Saraki is not welcome in his compound.

On Saraki heritage from Egba, well if you know Ilorin history very well you will not be saying this cos Ilorin is a migrations community with Fulani,Gobir,Kanuri and Yoruba and for you to know Emir is traditional ruler.

The old Saraki is a Fulani man with ancestral route from Sokoto caliphate but what a lot don't know is that The Olushola Saraki maternal home is Ogun state and Bukola"s maternal is Ondo State,so he has a very strong Yoruba route but paternally he is from Fulani extraction.

I will prefer to live as a soldier. Who ran to fight another day...
Than to be a coward and dined with rats.. dies without honnor... And rejected by the land.
Kai what do we expect from a moniker with Herdsmen

Am not all these afonja and ipob rats cos i hate it

Comparing Awo and Ojukwu then you are a DUMB

And funny enough you even believe this trash by OP meaning your brain need serious examination.

I don't think any sensible Nigerian would try to diminish the likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe,Ahmodu Bello,Tafawa Balewa and Obafemi Awolowo just cos of stupid tribal sentiments that has turned well learned to a tout.
