gbosaa: The likes on tbaba1234’s message about Iheanacho’s injury might be to appreciate his letting them know rather than a celebration or liking of Iheanacho’s fracture. I don’t think it should all be read negatively. Chief gbosaa you are right. |

Oh what of Ezenwa injury against Sudan What of happiness that trailed Onazi injury. Hope you remember how Akpeyi keep on getting bashing. So Iheanacho injury situation posted by tbaba1234 and the five likes shouldn't be an issue, part of craziness here Anyhow bros, craziness full for here and we are all part of it and make we dey enjoy it. Martz101: I am sorry to disagree with all of you, his review is spot on, Nacho was a flop, we still need to see more of Ebuehi to ascertain his better than shehu, though I know he will pass.
for Leon He was a little harsh on him but Leon has not been that good, we close our eyes to it, troost was doing all the interception and Leon was out of position, a moniker even said Leon played in the LB and another said we played a 352 formation. I know his fan favourite but he was obviously not at par with Ekong Sir,pls go and watch Poland match again and let's brainstorm. Leon was pretty good until he was substituted, after his substitution what happened, confusion at the back, thank God Ebuehi came to the rescue. Pls i want you to tell me how many times Leon went out of position, may be we watched different match. I don't think there is need for us to go back to the era of Libero and sweeper to analyse the job of Ekong and Balogun on the field. This is not issue of being a fan favorite but fact. |

tbaba1234: This is the likely lineup for Tuesday. This is the line-up for their final training...Uzoho is likely to start again.. Uzoho........Good to see him in action again and better for his confidence Ebuehi...........He is starting for the first time and let's see may be he would be a better option than Shehu Balogun.........Good to see him again with Troost-Ekong. Ekong........Another solid performance expected with Balogun Idowu............Seems Echijele is losing out though Idowu had average game against Poland,Elderson couldn't have done better. Onazi...........Good to be back in the starting line up and let's see what he has to offer. Ndidi........Another solid performance is loading. Joel Obi.......Gradually integrating himself into the team, hope to see him doing Mikel for us today Victor Moses.......had a good match against Poland but need to play more with the team Alex Iwobi.......not convincing performance against Poland but hope to see improve Alex today, need to be consistent. Ahmed Musa......He must have showed class in training for him to start ahead of Ighalo.Truly Ighalo and Nacho were below par against Poland. Remarks......The team is evolving with starting team emerging, just few changes from Poland match with Onazi,Ebuehi and Musa coming in for injured Nacho,Shehu and Ighalo respectively. It seems Ezenwa has lost out in competing for number one shirt cos Rohr has more trust in young Uzoho. Also am seeing Echijele not making it cos having him on the bench doesn't add any value to the team.Let's see how Elderson react in subsequent friendlies. With Musa coming in as a leading attacker meaning Rohr wasn't satisfied with Ighalo and Nacho though injury ruled him out, meaning hope for the likes of Oyekwuru,Ideye,Kayode,Samuel Kalu,Olayinka etc. The team is getting clearer and any player dropped from this 28 man list should forget WC. |

Mujtahida: Iorfa's Dad was an ex-international. This are the people who should be donating their children to Nigeria(even though this country ehn doesn't deserve such sometimes but it's our fatherland still) . Imagine if Kanu or Okocha say that their kids are too young to play for nigeria compared to an unknown Nigerian who is far from the workings of the NT who would you give the stick? To whom much is given, much is expected. I already pointed this out that as ex international both Iorfa and Ojokojo should know better. Good that you know that Ebuehi'agent and Iorfa snr made similar statement but quite agreed as ex international he messed up. |

Mujtahida: There is a difference. When a person takes a clear cut position it helps you know where you stand and what needs be done. Ebuehi was straight and ultimately he was persuaded. Iorfa was doing two timing. It's easier to toast a lady who spurns your first advance than the one who dances one step towards you and another step away from you. Sir,Ebuehi's agent said too early for him to play for Nigeria, guess what waiting for dutch call now tell me what make it different from Iorfa. |

Sir pls tell me the different between Iorfa and Ebuehi first statement on Nigeria invitation before he changed his mind. Did we nail Ebuehi cos of that after he said yes to us,No but Iorfa saying yes if he get invitation is an issue now. I know Iorfa is not on Rohr radar for now,if Rohr need him no issue he get him ASAP regardless of his father statement cos he didn't use Ebuehi earlier stance to deal with the young boy. |

MetalJigsaw: Take it easy. Are you trying go initiate unnecessary argument or what. Both coaches did well but Rohr is much better. That's what he meant My oga don't compare the two great coach. Keshi is in the pinnacle of Nigeria football history as a great player and coach, remember Keshi won Afcon and qualified Nigeria for WC reaching 2nd round equating Westerhoff record. Out of these achievements Rohr has just equate one which is WC qualification,so too early to compare the duo. Keshi record is there for Rohr to beat so let's keep on watching and continue supporting our dear eagles for better outing at mundial. |

MetalJigsaw: REDEMPTION TIME: 5 Super Eagles Stars Who Need To Shine Vs Serbia 5 March 26, 2018 11:09 am
Ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Serbia, Completesportsnigeria.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU lists five Super Eagles players who need a big performance to redeem themselves and cement their spots in the squad for Russia 2018 after below-par showings against Poland…
LEON BALOGUN Hailed for his formidable partnership with William Troost-Ekong during the qualifiers, the Mainz of Germany centre-back has struggled to impress in the Super Eagles’ last two games. No wonder he was hauled off in the 4-2 friendly win against Argentina last November and the situation repeated itself on Friday with Kenneth Omeruo replacing him after another below-par outing. With the likes of Chidozie Awaziem, Stephen Eze and Omeruo knocking on the door and hoping to secure starting berths ahead of the World Cup, Tuesday’s game against Serbia offers the towering defender a big chance to redeem himself and secure his place in the team.
BRYAN IDOWU The Amkar Perm of Russia left-back had a memorable debut, scoring Nigeria’s third goal in the 4-2 win against Argentina last November. He was praised for his all-round display in the game and touted as possible replacement for regular left-back Elderson Echiejile. Idowu however failed to live up to the high ratings against Poland and was way off the high standards he set in his previous outing and also at club level. It is difficult to see him start against Serbia with Ola Aina and Echiejile also fighting for the same position. Should he get the nod ahead of the duo again, Idowu will need to better his performance against Poland to prove he is the right man for the position.
JOEL OBI Plagued by injuries in recent years, the Torino of Italy midfielder was handed the chance to stake a claim for a place in the team ahead of the mundial against the Poles. Though he didn’t do his chances any harm following a battling display in the middle of the park, with the likes of Mikel Obi, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Mikel Agu ahead of him in the pecking order, Joel could make do with another chance and a top-notch display to prove he is worthy of a place in the World Cup squad.
TYRONNE EBUEHI Still considered as second choice to Shehu Abdullahi, the ADO Den Haag right-back showed his class when he was introduced after break in the friendly win against Argentina in what was his debut game for the Super Eagles. He was decent too after replacing the same player against Poland, but he will need to offer more to displace Shehu from the spot. He might get the chance to finally prove his worth against Serbia on Tuesday with Shehu Abdullahi looking doubtful for the game after picking up an injury against Poland.
KELECHI IHEANACHO An inconsistent performer on the international scene, Kelechi Iheanacho despite his quality and versatility has not consistently proved he is worthy of a regular berth in the team. He was poor against Poland on Friday and might need to take his chance against Serbia if at all he gets to feature in the game to show he is still a force to reckon with in the team.
https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/redemption-time-5-super-eagles-stars-who-need-to-shine-vs-serbia/ I disagreed with this guy submission on Balogun, against Poland he had a great match and was replaced due to knock. Just watched the same Poland match again,Balogun was massive and at par with Ekong until he got substituted. I'm really surprised this is coming from complete sports. |

Danielnino00: Egbon, there is no double standard anywhere.. the German boys are just being more frank with us than the Queens boys... Don't forget that Rohr has already meet with some British born Nigerian player who are willing to represent us and I'm sure they have been given an assurance of a call up soon.... as for Torunarigha snubbing us,I personally don't have a problem with it since he was frank with us unlike what Tammy,Nedum Onuoha,Ibe and Agbonlahor did.... My chairman you are not getting my point. OK tell me the difference between the German guys like Patrick Owomoyela,Dennis Aogo,Sidney Samuel and English guys like Onuoha,Agbonlahor, pls tell me cos they all rejected Nigeria with the same attitude. I think Amaju went too far on Tammy, hope you know Rohr too went personally to watch Akpoguma live or you are not aware. What is the difference between Uduokhai and Ibe statement towards Nigeria. Really surprised that we are now trying to differentiate German boys from UK boys. How many German guys have showed commitment except Leon Balogun and may be Maduka and tell me how many English boys. OK let me tell you English guys who have played for Nigeria, hope you know Tunji Banjo of great 1980 team,John Chiedozie in the 80s,Reuben Agboola,Efan Ekoku in the 90s,John Shiitth,Dickson Etuhu,Sone Aluko,Hope Akpan,Efe and Sam Sodje,Abbey George, Victor Moses,Alex Iwobi and now Ola Aina. Only Leon among German guys, the rest like Uduokhai, Akpoguma even a WC slot given by NFF or Rohr was rejected by Torunarigha and this is not insult abi. Imagine someone trying to downplay Aluko picking Nigeria over England during U 20 days,no let just say it the way it should be and better for the thread. It was on this thread they are trying to rubbish Kenneth Otigba who rejected Hungary euro team waiting for Nigeria call endlessly till he later opted for Hungary. I have said it some comments centred around personal issue and am not for that but to talk football if Rohr like he should bring players from NPFL,no issue, results is the main thing and Rohr is doing well, hope to see him shaking the world at Russia 2018. |

somehow: Recommend 1 or 2 I love your question.I think we had this discussion yesterday based on Mikel Agu late call and metaljigsaw said why when we have Ndidi,Onazi,Joel,Ogu,Etebo, and Agbo even Agbo continue invitation has a question mark. Humility017 and metaljigsaw believe what we need now is AM cos it was evident against Poland and they are right but the question is do we have one. I came up with Sone Aluko and Kekechi Nwakili but some came hard on me said why Aluko?but didn't question why Nwakili Kelechi. The issue here is simple we are too sentimental and emotional in our response to issues and we often forget that we are talking football. I now realized mentioning name Aluko is not the issue or his quality is questionable but some see it as a way to hit back at some monikers, that's not analysis. If we are questioning clamouring for Aluko then why are we trying to justify Chiedebere Nwakili invitation for Algeria and Argentina match, pls on what ground. I made my recommendation and i said Aluko and Kelechi,Humility017 thumb me up on Kelechi Nwakili and forgiveness said why Kelechi Nwakili who is now playing in dutch 2nd tier. I think Aluko would fit in just like Joel Obi cos he once a member of the team right from U20 and Nwakili is a young lad with great talent and see him as a future replacement for Mikel. Major issue here we leave football analysis to settle personal scores which is not good for this thread. |

Danielnino00: Fact remains that Iorfa and his dad were more keen on England than Nigeria... But as it stands,Rohr doesn't need him, otherwise he would have given him a callup up already... Let him wait too... ....Let him wait too....oh do you think am canvassing for his invitation? No If you can go back pages i was one of the few monikers that went against Iorfa senior statement. But my question is,why are we always showing double standard in dealing with the same issue. Torunarigha Ojokojo said my son will not play for Nigeria but here some said that's his father statement not the boy. Dominic Iorfa said my son will decide his future at 23 but we are using the statement to knock the boy off. If i may ask, whom will you pick between Iorfa and Torunarigha based on their Father's statements. Good Torunarigha Jordon came out recently to reject Nigeria. |

Danielnino00: About ur last two paragraph, don't forget that Rohr is a German... its only natural for him to pick his country over English born and breed... I know is a German but is a Nigeria coach so equal treatment for all FBs. I know an ex youth international Darlington Omodiagbe who scouts for him in Germany and was the one recommending these guys for Rohr. Darlington recommended Okoye Maduka, held talks with Akpoguma,Uduokhai,Torunarigha and always pushing for Osimhen The guy is doing well in this regards cos he was instrumental to Leon first invitation by giving Keshi Leon phone number. I don't know may be Rohr has somebody on the ground in UK doing this, just hearing of one Doherty, likely he is working with NFF directly not Rohr. |

asha80: torunarigha must have had some bad experiences during his playing time for eagles and Nigeria as a whole to state categorically that his son will not play for Nigeria Good you are able to point this out cos i was wondering why Murphy Akanji will allowed Manuel to play for Switzerland being a very local player in Nigeria old league then, also Ojokojo Torunarigha who played old shooting stars and same thing Dominic Iorfa of old BCC lion of Gboko. Something must be amiss cos i believe we should not be having problem with our ex international regards their wards, may be they know what we don't know cos these are guys that love Nigeria as a country. |

Danielnino00: Iorfa and his dad were eying the Queen's call up that's why they told the NFF to wait... unfortunately, the Queen never called... ... So,the NFF are also telling him to wait.... when we need his service, we will call him up... it's all about "u do me, I do u"... I think Iorfa senior didn't do well as ex international by saying my son will wait until 23 years of age to decide his future. Truly he did not say the boy will not play for Nigeria. Unlike Torunarigha Jordon's father who said categorically that my son will not play for Nigeria. Iorfa junior did not say I will not play for Nigeria But Torunarigha has come out to say i preferred German team. NFF and Rohr approached Torunarigha despite his Dad statement but did NFF approach Iorfa jnr?NO We just believe is wrong for Iorfa to say my son will decide his future at 23. If Rohr need Iorfa jnr i don't think his Dad earlier stance w affect the young man chances. Do you know Rohr is ready to have Uduokhai,Akpoguma and Torunarigha if they change their minds. And why are we always knocking the English born and willing to give soft landing for German born despite their unwillingness to represent Nigeria. |

The Midfield is still loaded even without Etebo and Mikel. His invitation is not neccessiary. I don't see any reason for Agu invitation when Agbo has not been find worthy of a minute playing. I remember when Rohr dropped Agbo prior to may be Cameroon match he still get a recall for the same match now Agu who was not on the list getting a call with availability of Ndidi,Onazi,Joel,Ogu and Agbo then am confused. Bolowolowo: Nigeria vs Serbia: Mikel Obi, Etebo, Ebuehi to start
Published on March 25, 2018 By Ifreke Inyang
Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr will have captain John Obi Mikel back for Tuesday’s friendly game against Serbia in London.
The Tianjin TEDA midfielder did not play against Poland on Friday, as he was unable to sort out logistic issues.
Rohr has however ruled out Bursaspor fullback, Shehu Abdullahi, after he limped out of the Poland match.
Abdullahi was substituted with what looked like a hamstring injury, with Tyronne Ebuehi coming in his place. He is expected to undergo a scan while in the UK with the rest of the squad.
“We have some injured players ahead of the game against Serbia, but we are hopeful the injury isn’t a serious one.
“Abdullahi will have a scan in England to determine if he can play but like you saw today Ebuehi can play if he is not fit,” Rohr said.
The coach also said he is hopeful that Las Palmas midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, will be available for the game. Pls is Mikel Obi in camp CC:tbaba1234 |

andrew444: Nice analysis bros....Only ajiboye will bring out the best in uzoho not ezenwa or akpeyi.
I think ajiboye is somehow better than ezenwa sha,but the coach is not looking on ajiboye side? and he somehow rule him out of the world cup.
Not that uzoho is too good but he his better than ezenwa and akpeyi.
But remember after the defeat by morocco in the chan final, some people are already blaming ajiboye, those same people has already praised him.
But there is no much time to test goal keepers,How many friendlies do we have more? Good one Sir,i think Rohr mentioned five keepers namely Uzoho, Ezenwa, Akpeyi, Alampasu and Ajiboye even possibly Maduka. Anything can still happened cos Enyeama gatecrashed WC team less than a month as second choice by displacing Ejide to third keeper and Uche Akubuike dropped. I want to see Ezenwa playing week in week out not as a bench warmer at Enyimba or he seek loan elsewhere for regular shirt. Also i want to see Akpeyi once again in one top friendly may he is still shaking Akpeyi that deserves a place in the team. Though Ajiboye and Alampasu getting call depends on their performance at their club especially Ajiboye cos i don't see Alampasu making it cos of his inactivity and also the reaction of Ezenwa and Akpeyi with their club side will determine their chances. Sir anything can still happens on who to deputise for Uzoho. |

TheLoneCitizen: It's a no-brainer, my good man, 7 games to go and Southampton have chosen a PROVEN aging Mark Hughes over a PROMISING prime Marco Silva.
Of what help is a future prospect, when promises are made to be broken. Sir you are right, just talking as a Nigerian who want to see a great keeper at WC,nothing more. |
