TheGoodJoe: Or Rohr did not State the timeline. The trainer might be done with the work. It might be some days or a week work. Not parking to leave with Uzoho. My man i know white men very well,if he decide to attach trainer to goalkeeper it will not be Uzoho alone, there will be timetable for each keeper, all must passed through the training. |

The report is not true, even someone here said a goalkeeper trainer would be attached to Alampasu too but the man is with CHAN team right a way from Nigeria. to Turkey down to Morocco, may be after CHAN the goalkeeper trainer w start work with Uzoho and Alampasu. |

TheSuperNerd: Even by picking the best he would still be gambling because you and I know Uzoho stands a great chance of being Rohr's no.1 for Russia based of Rohr's actions in the past few months. Seeing him at close view in camp, throwing him into that game against Argentina, sending a member of his coaching staff (most likely Enrioco pionetti and one other) to go work with Uzoho in Spain alongside the Deportivo coaches...... The signs are there.... But in all the friendlies will be the final decision marker.
My point is simple... No matter the choice made from the available options, it is a gamble. Only that some risks/gambles are just worth the take more than others. I don't think that report is true that one of the goalkeeper trainer is with Uzoho cos it seems the trainer is with CHAN team presently. |

Eneji returns, Okpotu benched....
@NGSuperEagles XI vs Morocco:
Ajiboye - Osas, Eze, Orji, Udoh - Atuloma, Ojo, Ali - Ogbuh, Eneji, Gabriel.
It is a 4-3-3 Okpotu benched good, just too glaring the guy was below average against Sudan, may be from the bench he can come in and raise to the occasion and am seeing Ifeanyi Ifeanyi red card as a blessing to the team cos he didn't imposed himself against Sudan. |

TheSuperNerd: Sir TheGoodJoe insists on picking the best and I agree with him. Rohr will gamble. In football, lots of risks are taken and must be lived with.
Right now, Rohr is a situation where picking any of Ezenwa, Ajiboye, Uzoho, Okoye, Alampasu, or looking to consider a clubless and action less Enyeama WILL ALL BE A GAMBLE no matter the choice he makes. So Rohr cannot avoid it. He has to take a gamble as regards pur GK dept but the real question is this....
"Which is the best gamble?"
In other words, Which gamble have the best odds?
The friendlies will give us a better picture of Rohr's choices eventually in the GK position. But what is clear now is who he will test in those friendlies....
Two names are sure... "Uzoho and Ezenwa"
With time, we will get to discover who else he will test to seal his decision on the GK dept for good. What i mean by not gamble is that Rohr should pick the best without sentiment |

TheSuperNerd: Aaron Samuel Set To Join Norwegian Side Molde From Russian Side CSKA Moscow
https://i0.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/385B69B8-1481-4CA9-BCE3-F443B5C738B9-2105-000000F9B2732456.jpeg
The association between Aaron Samuel and Russian side CSKA Moscow looks likely to come to an end in few days time with Norwegian side Molde pushing to sign him. Samuel has struggled to find his best form at the Russian side following his move from Chinese side Guangzhou R&F on permanent basis after initially playing on loan.
Last season he played just seven times in the league as he was battling his way back to fitness after being out for a while, but his lack of game continued this season with just seven league games and one goal to his name in the first stanza.
23 year old Samuel has had spells in Norway before, firstly with Valerenga before crossing to Sarpsborg 08, and Molde who are in need of a striker have made him their prime target.
A deal is reportedly not far off between both parties with CSKA Moscow keen on allowing him leave following the capture of Ahmed Musa on loan from Leicester City, especially after his goal in his first game upon his return to the club where he spent four seasons.

TheSuperNerd: Yep, so let us go draft in Aiyenugba and Enyeama then....
I suppose no one remembers how relatively inactive a 21-year-old talented Ondoa was before AFCON 2017. Cameroun had a Kameni but stuck with Ondoa and it paid off beautifully. We have lessons all around us.
This brutal truth of "WC for men" in the GK dept cost us at France 98. With all of Rufai's experience, we flunked as he was no way near being super active prior to France 98. We need to be careful and take the better risk. Good point but Rohr must not gamble with goalkeeping department, very vital to the team cos if you watched Angola and Sudan match if not for Ezenwa and Ajiboye we would have lost those matches. |

Humility017: developing the player in what sense...? osaguona who spent several years in the npfl only to travel to Europe could not meet up and there after return to north Africa...and likewise many others....including Ezekiel bassey who could not even cope in Barcelona B team.. but say...a young player like a teenager will manage to cope as it will require them to begin the training process and shaping all over...being a young lad...he can be tailored quickly...
I believe the npfl is a league any player shouldn't be comfortable wit...it should be a stepping stone for a better club...in Europe where players can be better tutored in the rudiment of football..
those coaches I see in the npfl many of them know nothing... I once watched...ogbeide talk in ITV before the the presenter....that he does not watch epl or any other foreign foptbal club...and this is a man who was coaching warri wolves as at then.....
just to tell you....how dull some of this coaches are....little wonder I will say...the npfl don't just like infrastructural facilities...but also human resources.... because many of this coaches...don't understand the scientific nature of the round leather game...many won't even pass...should an exam be set for them. Easy bro the way you are bashing NPFL then the league will never develop cos it seems you are not seeing anything good in the league, pls,NPFL remain our own and i wish one day we would be there though not easy. Mind you,not only NPFL players are failing to make the cut in Europe,so Ezekiel failed in Barca team not an issue, hope you know that Dele Ali failed a trial with Liverpool,Tottenham almost lost Harry Kane,Yaya Toure failed Arsenal trial,so it happened in football not peculiar to home based. Why not mentioned Alhassan Muzzam who went from NPFL straight to starting line up in Europe or Stephen Odey who went to Switzerland, also Afeez Aremu and Chima Akas. This league has produced enough players for our national teams and it will continue irrespective of state of infrastructure or human resources. I want you to know we have some local coaches who reason like us and understand the game very well,so try and always balance your view on NPFL cos this thread is a world recognize one and a lot peep here to know more about Nigeria football. |

Threat from an Angola, Sudanese or a homebased Guinean side is nothing compared to what is obtainable at the regular AFCON and WC qualifiers let alone the WC.
As I said before, It is going to be a tough tough decision for Rohr to assign Uzoho as first choice, no matter the amount of personal training and coaching he receives.

Joebie: I just wanted to make it a point that this is no longer a player A versus player B debate.
What we have here is a conundrum, if we really must be realistic. I don't trust a home based keeper for the world cup. But should we trust very young keepers like Uzoho, Alampasu or Maduka? For a young keeper, the keeper has to be exceptional. If Rohr has made his decision on Uzoho, we must subject him to full 90 minutes games in most of the friendlies we have line up -- if not all. That will be enough preparation for him for the tourney proper, considering that he is not playing in the topflight at the moment.
Modified Let me reiterate, in either case, our defense has to be SOLID. I Jobie i will not deceive you anytime i remember our goalkeeping issue fear always grip me but i will not deceive you if care is not taken it would be one of our greatest undue at the coming WC cos options available looks somehow, home based goalkeepers and untested foreign goalkeepers, then how do we go about it. I will not deceive you i would not rate Alampasu and Maduka ahead of Ezenwa and Ajiboye for now cos i haven't see them playing for Eagles,so it would be sentimental to put them ahead. On Uzoho being number one, well he had a good game against Argentina but not really tested so more games as you said may be another 90 minutes then we judge but what i saw against Argentina he looked promising. Ezenwa had it so good in WC qualifying matches except Algeria match were he made some basic errors though he happens sometimes but i don't think Rohr trust him but if we go by his performance against Angola then Rohr need to trust him. Ajiboye which i don't think is on Rohr radar but with his performance against Sudan it would be an injustice if he is not consider cos his saves against Sudan were awesome but may be a good showing against Morocco would convince Rohr. As thegoodjoe always saying we need to give our goalkeepers level playing ground so that we can pick the best without sentiment |

Joebie: Now like it's looking like we will not have an experienced keeper at the World Cup, we will have to really work tirelessly on the keepers we have available. Enyeama did not make the move this January, hence will most likely not get enough games under his belt before June. Verdict: out of consideration.
Among the five or so, we have some young GKs with very good potential. While I am not against the likes of Uzoho, Maduka (?) and Alampasu getting the number one shirt, I believe any of this very young GKs will have to show exceptional ability to be given that status. It's a big responsibility to place on them, regardless of how much work is put into them before the World Cup.
We have those who are approaching thirty -- if not in their early thirties already. They have great ability, but will have to be exposed to high pressure games prior to the world cup, so they won't be overwhelmed by the occasion at the World Cup proper. E.g keepers like Ezenwa and Ajiboye.
Now my questions. Can we trust either of the home based keepers to be between the sticks in Russia?
Either way, I think it's a tricky situation. Our defense will have to be really solid.
As an afterthought, how about Dele Aiyenugba of Hapoel Ashkelon (Israeli 1st tier) Here is his stats for this season so far. On a good day if we based it on activities in Europe and experience Aiyenugba should nick it in the absence of Enyeama but i don't think Rohr led technical team really rate Aiyenugba. As it's now i don't think Aiyenugba is in the pictures so let's keep on watching what Rohr really have for us but i hope he get it right cos not getting it would be disastrous. |

zicky: I disagree, between 2010 to 2014, Ejide was still one of our very best, the most suitable deputy for enyeama, the other younger goal keepers refuse to step up their game. Vanzekin was suppose to break into the SE, but it never happened. These three goal keepers, Enyeama, Ejide and Aiyenugba did not drop from the moon, they were home grown they were all at one time in goal at caf champions league final for their clubs. OK sir since you are not getting my point let's end it here |

Icon4s: All goalies concede goals but ridiculing Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Uche Okafor for the goals they conceded is not fair. Do you also recall that the game Ezenwa conceded 4 was 0-0 after 90mins? The defense that had Efe Ambrose and Echiejile crumbled and I remember Ezenwa making numerous saves during the regular 90mins. We were at the back foot for the most of that game.
I reiterate it that no body did Ajiboye any wrong. His time comes when it comes. That's all. Sir if a keeper concedes a ridiculous goal he would be ridiculed but from you guys discussion so far nothing ridiculous about Ezenwa but Okafor of 2009 was damn ridiculous as a keeper. If Ajiboye messed up today which i don't pray for, trust Nigerians they w say it without any feelings,Akpeyi still feeling the heat. |

zicky: I don't think having enyeama, Ejide and Aiyenugba at the same time was a mistake, they were the best keepers we had at that time, Enyeama needed the competition to be at his best and don't forget they were very young. you can't drop an ejide who some prefer to enyeama at that time for an unknown goal keeper. if we had done such, we would have found ourselves in this present situation in eventuality of enyeama getting injured. Yes you are right but i can tell you between 2010 to 2014,Ejide has lost it even Aiyenugba that was not getting the call again still active even till today. My man it reached a point Ejide and Aiyenugba doesn't have anything to offer again, hope you know that Spain later find themselves in the same scenario with Iker casillas,Pepe Reina and Victor Valdes but De Gea came into the rescue cos they already positioned him to take over. |

BascoVanVeli: Uche Okafor was not IUFC's first or second choice last season. Ivorian Drissa Bamba was their number one, followed by Ezenwa. Chairman you dey follow league o,so truly Ezenwa wasn't first choice but going to Enyimba with another foreigner Fatau Dauda to contend with as number one is an uphill tasks. He needs a club where he would be commanding regular shirt as Nigeria keeper not second choice cos his form is paramount to our WC. |

Icon4s: You don't just pick just one goalie and call him a special talent and attach him alone for years to the national team and close your eyes to other emerging goalies.
Besides we have had different coaches all the years and they all had their own philosophies. So don't blame anybody. Yes you don't just pick a talented one and forget about emerging ones but sir have you asked yourself why Cameroon always have pool of good keepers to pick from,it's simple they always pay more attention to special ones among their emerging keepers not that they pick one and forget about others,no is not done that way. In the 80s we have Emma Okala, Best Ogedegbe understudied by Peter Rufai and Patrick Okala, later ,Okoye,Remi Oguns,Lateef Yusuf,Raymond Besr and later we saw the rise of Wilfred Agbonavbare,Alloy Agu,Christian Obi,Willy Okpara,Angus Ikeji,Emeka Amadj,Lemmy Isah,Andrew Aikhomogbe and Aliyu Muzambilu In the 90s despite not going to 1991 U17 and U20 WC,we have emerging keepers like Murphy Akanji,Dosu Joseph,Victor Gbenebechie,Leye Akinde,Emma Babayaro,Abiodun Baruwa and Sam Okoye. In 2000s we have Uche Akubuike,Greg Etafia,Sunday Rotimi,Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide, Dele Aiyenugba,Ambrose Vanzekin,Apam Bassey,Chiejoke Arugo monkey. But availability of Enyeama and too much concentration on Ejide(2002-2015)and Aiyenugba(2002-2012) for so long deputising for Enyeama affected the upcoming ones like Akpeyi,Ezenwa, Ajiboye. Who could have been heir apparent to Enyeama is Agbim but too mediocre,Keshi did not do well in this regard. This gave us a serious gap in our goalkeeping department. Truly Ikeme came into the rescue but health did not let us enjoyed him but just we made a mistake by keep on inviting Ejide and Aiyenugba when we have emerging Keepers in Akpeyi, Ezenwa and Ajiboye cos Enyeama,Ejide and Aiyenugba came out together at the same time. Honestly you have a point and thegoodjoe also have a point but whom do we blamed if not Nigeria factor, good Amaju led NFF seems to be working. |

Icon4s: Bros I say again, that arrangement was not necessary.
Football is not always 1+1=2. Some times in football 1+3 can equal 2. That is you give so much and get little in return. You cannot be sure of who will come out good. You invest so much time in a keeper and at the end of the day the result is not what you expect.
At a time it seemed as if Alampasu was the Heir apparent to the SE goal post and I said it here that he may never be our first choice that some other keeper may spring up.
Even Uzoho may not end up as Eagle's first choice.
Sure you know Austine Ejide was second choice to Ike at the 2002 WC. He looked like the heir apparent but at the end Enyeama was first choice for the better part of it.
You don't just pick just one goalie and call him a special talent and attach him alone for years to the national team and close your eyes to other emerging goalies.
Besides we have had different coaches all the years and they all had their own philosophies. So don't blame anybody. No Austin Ejide was not the second choice to Ike Shorunmu at 2002 WC,he lost it to Enyeama prior to the WC that was why we saw Enyeama against England. He took ordinary Kenya friendly for Enyeama to show class that he was better than Ejide who already had grade A friendlies, this is to tell you sometimes opposition doesn't determined best keeper. Mind you my former university coach ex international Amusa Adisa was the Super eagles goalkeeper trainer at 2002 WC,so i had first class info about the team. |
