is enyeama not prone to errors too? It's relative man, Enyeama's error cost us the game against France in the last world cup. He too is prone to error.
Pls let us stop this comparison cos i see it as an insult on the part of Enyeama like prone to error, No o.Enyeama was a solid keeper that made normal mistakes good keeper makes not basic errors like that of Akpeyi and Ezenwa.

You asked for his stats.

10 games
7 clean sheets..
Francis Uzoho made Eagles cos of his two matches in LA liga not team B matches,so i don't reckon with this stats. The Girona match paved way for him or do you think if it's team B Rohr will consider him.

Francis Uzoho should work harder and find his way back to first team even on the bench though some are arguing it playing in team B is good for his fitness but failing to realize that any emergence of any keepers doing it week in week out meaning no way for Uzoho.

Truly he has the potential but that potential can only be harnessed in first team cos of his status as Eagles keeper.

I know if Rohr settle for Uzoho as number one there is possibility of him meeting Deportivo coach on how he can assist cos national team coaches does it

No no no. I disagree with you that I'm looking at Jay Jay through the prism of the present. I repeat he was awful by any standard in THAT MATCH. and guess what the coach subbed him off.
I like my midfielders in the best of the 10's tradition as epitomised by Maradona, Jay Jay, Baggio, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo but that doesn't change the fact that Jay Jay wasn't Westerhof's preferred midfielder and I can hazard a guess to say it wasn't because of the showboating. Jay Jay was ineffective.
My man you are right on Zambia match and Westerhoff prefrence for serious midfieder.

I remember Jayjay had his first appearance in national team with U 20 at Mauritius 93 with Kanu Nwankwo,Taribo West,Emma Babayaro,Andrew Aikhomogbe, Emma Teberen,Aboidun Obafemi.

Jayjay was damn too beautiful to watch but very unserious player like his elder bro Emma Okocha..It seem skills flow in the family but they don't appreciate it.Emma Okocha left football too sudden after Algiers 90 until Jayjay showed up in 1993 playing with Frankfurt, check his goal against Karlsruhe with Oliver Khan in goal you will understand Jayjay was just playing the game for fun.

Then Jayjay was damn young but i will not say too young but Westerhoff realised it earlier that youthful exuberance was affecting Jayjay. In our last WC qualifier match against Algeria Jayjay was on the bench cos Westerhoff knew what was at stake.

If you noticed very well during US 94 Westerhoff preferred using Samson Siasia in that position than Jayjay just cos of disciplinarian play of Siasia. Pls try and watch Nig -Italy match at US 94 it was the day i will never forget in my life, very painful lost.Jayjay was just playing to the gallery, it reached a point Yekini and Finidi George were shaking their head cos they were expecting a pass but Jayjay just turned around again to dribble the set of players he has dribbled before, watching Jayjay against Denmark at France 98 should tell you Jayjay was a showman then and not a team player, Olishe was shouting we are down but Jayjay was doing his things though at the end that match fetched him a great contract to PSG.

It was in the year 2000 that Jayjay realized that football is a real game not just fun, check his national team records from year 2000 and compared to 1993-2000 you would notice we had different Jayjay in 2000s but his legs couldn't carry him anymore as at 2006.

If Jayjay utilised his potential fully in the 90s,Okocha would have been crown World best cos he has everything as a player but funny enough even Africa best eluded him with such great talent.

Enyeama is not a magician but I say that of all our players from the last three WC none, I repeat none has been outstanding as Enyeama. The WC has always been his stage. Did you watch Nig v Argentina in 2010 WC? Ohhh my goodness Enyeama thwarted waves after waves of attack from Messi and the attacking horde of the Argentines and if I recall he was given man of the match award. None of our players have ever been magical. None but they've done their best and we should honour them. I guess if five years from now someone says Mikel or Iheanacho were not magical it won't seat well with you.
Enyeama is a very solid gk. He is not just solid but in the history of goalkeeping in Nigeria he is the best we've ever had. Ask Icon4s and Kog45
Yes he is the best all time Nigeria Keeper.

I don't think Rohr is having any hope on Enyeama again, left for Enyeama to make himself available which i don't see happening.

When Rohr first came he said his wish was to have Enyeama back so that with Ikeme and Enyeama his goalkeeping dept is settled.

I will also be happy if Enyeama returns because all over the media Rohr keeps talking about not having found a gk that satisfies him. He still said it again in the last interview posted here. However those who know Enyeama said Enyeama has said he is done with the SE. So if that is the case then we just have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. We will have to settle for Uzoho, Akpeyi and Ezenwa and let the devil be damned.
I just had to weigh in because team spirit is being set up as an ojuju Calabar to terrorise anybody that calls for Martins or Enyeama. Team spirit is delicate and must be protected at the same time we should not use it to scare discourse on the inclusion of certain players. At the end of the day we should remember that Rohr is a disciplinarian. All the players I have read say he's both a father and a father. I don't think he would spare anyone who wants to scuttle his plans.
Alloy Agu failed us if not i don't think we should be saying this now.

I don't think enyeama is coming back but what do we do than to concentrate on what we have and move on.

Thank you .

I just tire.

Do they know what we are going to face at the World cup?

If team chemistry is the issue, then Enyeama is even better placed than Uzoho, Alampasu and Okoye. Our back line has not much changed since Enyeama left. So wetin?
Oga icon4s Enyeama is not coming back,Did you know how many top personalities that have tried to talk to Enyeama to rescind his decision even to the extent he embarrassed a whole Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Did you know Mikel waded in through Saraki but the guy still remain adamant.Hope you heard Peterside Idah statement on Enyeama return,he said Enyeama is not coming back.

Sir I believe is better for us to plan ahead of Enyeama and move on,truly i understand your plights and i shared it but what can we do when the main man refused to accept our pleas.

At least we have Uzoho,Ajiboye, Alampasu, *Ezenwa,*Akpeyi,Maduka, Nwokolor,Afelokhai, and experience old horse Aiyenugba, let's concentrate on them and see the result.

From the bolded its obvious that you still didn't get my point. Ejide's howler was an error(even though it was contested as match fixing but he was cleared). A very rare error from Ejide who we all know was a good keeper bested by Enyeama only as at that time. Comparing Ejide to Akpeyi is like comparing USA to Nigeria in terms of development, they are miles apart. It is an insult to Ejide by even attempting to compare him with Akpeyi.

Listen and listen good, Akpeyi is a horrible keeper, he is not good , he is a calamity waiting to happen. On his good days he is still error prone, then on his bad days,... Well I refuse to make comments lipsrsealed

You are an elder here, you have been following the Eagles right from the 70s and 80s yet you still hold brief for Akpeyi. Can you honestly picture Akpeyi as our keeper in goal at USA 94, at France 98, at Korea/Japan 02, at S/A 2010?.....

At those tournaments, we went with our best and they kept the scoreline low against the world best teams. I don't want to remind you how well Peter Rufai kept both Bulgaria and Greece at bay before we won. I don't want to remind you how ike shorumu kept Argentina at bay before they managed a 1-0 respectable victory over us. I don't want to remind you how Enyeama kept messi at bay while he kept tormenting our defence at will at 2010 world cup.

Now picture Akpeyi in goal on those occasions.

If you still seriously believe that Akpeyi deserve to be in Russia next year then I will believe too that you are either lying to yourself or you have a hidden agenda pushing for him.

Newsflash, assuming Akpeyi resumed second half in the Argentina game friendly, we wouldn't have won because he probably would have committed one of his school boy errors again. That I am sure of.

Many times we see Akpeyi in the line up at the viewing center where I watch my matches, we all become jittery cry , murmuring, and we start praying. Tension everywhere... I believe his colleagues on the field feels the same too.

He doesn't inspire confidence at all, a team's psychic is very important and a keeper leaking needless goals is definitely a source of big worry.

Haven't you noticed, whenever Akpeyi keeps we concedes and lose the match 90% of time. This is not me being bias or hating him.

Let him go sort out whatever is hunting him and leave our SE for us in peace... Someone should not come and have HBP on top an Agbaya that has refused to grow angry
Pls go back and read my first comment you quoted may be you will understand better cos it should not be an offence to analyze the chances of Ezenwa,Uzoho, Ajiboye, Alampasu and included Akpeyi, these are keepers who have the opportunity of getting Rohr invitation more than two times and a good pundits would take the five into consideration when analysing the goalkeeping department.

I don't see any reason to exclude Akpeyi from my analysis and if you read deep he was the only one i gave least chances by saying "If he get another chance" so what do you expect me to say.Do you expect me to omit him when Rohr has not said Akpeyi is no longer needed.

On Ejide comparison, pls always read my comment deep,am not saying Akpeyi was better but you said something which baffled me "ESCOBAR TREATMENT" this forced me to point out Ejide howler against Scotland even went to extent of telling you of Godwin Odiye own goal in our last match against Tunisia in 1978 WC qualifier when we needed just a draw, also Aiyebeni historical missed against South Koreajust to tell you that Nigerians are not heartless when it comes to football.

Mind you i was one of the first monikers to raise our goalkeeping problem when a lot don't even see it as an issue,i remember teztrum,icon4s, Michael2, goldfish80 were so concern and i never rate Akpeyi and Ezenwa.

I saw Uzoho against Girona and i came to this thread to tell anybody who care to listen that the boy is better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa and the boy made me happy with his 45 minutes against Argentina.

Uzoho performance against Argentina raised my curiosity on Alampasu that definitely if given chance too may be he is better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa. It was on this thread i said Ajiboye i watched against Guinea is better than Ezenwa and Ajiboye

Why cut off when Yobo was the starman for us in the eagles? You are rating Shittu when he was at his best for us but using another standard for Yobo?

As for omeruo, looking at what I look at when rating or picking defenders, I will go with Omeruo before anything Shittu. In this day and age, a defender like Shittu will likely be smart attacker's toast including the ref because he was raw and rash then. He was very good in the air and can run too, tired less but bad timing, unwarranted bamboozing of balls into the stands was the order of the day during his time.

In African settings, maybe old nations cup, I'll pick him to deal with his fellow jambody old school African players but in this age and time, penalty and dead ball go full opponent hand.

We nicknamed him rugby redhorn shittu.
Danny was a trained English footballer then why thinking he could only do it in Africa with Africans. It seems you don't even know him.Pls go and watch 2010 WC and tell me who was our best defender. It seems his physical look is your major issue not his prowess and what do you mean by old afcon, are you saying players like KANU,Okocha will not fit into this new era

Mind you Danny Shittu was a super regular in his Eagles career except his debut game under Onigbinde a comeo appearance and we are having Omeruo who has fallen behind and trying to be our 4th CB to WC.

Well our opinions w be different cos it seems you like sleek CB not hard and workaholic CB.Well i hope Omeruo make the team cos i still rate him.

Based on super eagles, Danny Shittu is better than Omeruo at which was my initial point and i still stand by it.

Yobo was still a starter in 2013 just before the nations cup. He only lost his place due to injury.

I will not go as far as putting him alongside West but for the short period he played for Nigeria, he was good.
Thank you my man. Some of us here watch eagles passionately but not always carried away with sentiments.

A lot forget the same Yobo cost us 2006 WC ticket against Angola, the best of Yobo was 2001 -2006,from 2006 -2010 it was average Yobo 2010-2014 was using his past glory to make the team nothing more, that was the reason why he lost his place to home based Oboboana at Afcon 2013.

Yobo was still a starter in 2013 just before the nations cup. He only lost his place due to injury.

I will not go as far as putting him alongside West but for the short period he played for Nigeria, he was good.
Thank you my man. Some of us here watch eagles passionately but not always carried away with sentiments.

A lot forget the same Yobo cost us 2006 WC ticket against Angola, the best of Yobo was 2001 -2006,from 2006 -2010 it was average Yobo 2010-2014 was using his past glory to make the team nothing more, that was the reason Keshi just have to benched him for Omeruo at Afcon 2013.

Truly one of the best defender to come out of Nigeria but not in the class of Keshi,Chidi Nwanu,Uche Okechukwu, Christian Chuckwu,Taribo West.
