Aaron is an outsider. Maybe he was invited by Rohr to take a closer look which he failed from all indication.

Ideye has not being performing steady( to be corrected though). His SE Stat is not too good either. Currently, we have better players who are yet to be called. I think Isaac success and Osimhen has better chance of making Russia.
Yes you are right on his present form but if we want to based it on stats did you know Ighalo will not be part of this team.

Pls can you explain why they(Success and Osimhen)have better chance cos they haven't done anything to merit a call talk less of making it to Russia

why do we always like making assumptions? Kayode in the Chinese league will score more than Martins, Kelechi in the Austrian league will score more than Kayode, Ideye in the Isreali league will score more than Nwakaeme etc etc. The simple truth is that we do not know these things, we can only judge based on the present conditions and right now, Nwakaeme is scoring more than Ighalo and is in form more than he is
My man am not making assumption regards Ideye cos he has done it in a better leagues than Isreali league.

If we want to base it on current condition then why Aaron Samuel made Nigeria list against Cameroon or Nwakili against Algeria.

Because we have plenty better in-form players for his department
Better in form players?i don't think so,remember it took a grace for Ighalo to be recalled back to the team against Cameroon or are you saying Nwakaeme is better than Ideye,Ideye in Isreali league would have turned the goal chart into pieces and remember Aaron Samuel that did nothing this season got a called up against Cameroon.Sometimes only coach can explain this cos he is in charge.

Good Day house.... Please why is nobody saying anything about BROWN IDEYE? Is he that bad? Dude has been playing his heart out for the eagles anytime he's been invited. He helped us won the 2013 nations cup. He was omitted in the conferedration and world Cup and we saw what he could had provided.

Back to this world Cup qualifiers he was called upon in the game against the Zambians in Luanda and he did very well as always and it was his assist that provided the goal for KC. So my question is.... Why Is nobody saying anything about him?
Oh Brown Ideye very unlucky player when it comes to super eagles players rating.Watching this guy at 2013 afcon WC reminds me of early days of great partnership of Yekini/Siasia cos he had a great understanding with Emma Emenike.

I was damn surprised Keshi left him out of WC team for players like Nwofor,Uchebo, though a lot always criticising him for lack of goals for Eagles forgetting his total contribution to the team.

Truly he had a good game against Zambia but surprisedly left out of the subsequent called ups.Rohr can only explain this cos Ahmed Musa wasn't better when it comes to performance this season but always getting the call.

Brown was among all star players captained by Kanu Nwankwo that played Kano pillars last week in a charity match but his club status presently i cannot say much cos the last time i heard of him was in China playing for Tiajin Jeda.

Mangala sat on the bench long. Last season, he was sent on loan. It is the injuries of Stones and Kompany that gave him the chance. What I am saying that it takes hardwork and patience to get it right. If Iheanacho could track back as fast as Gabriel Jesus or even faster, Guardiola would play him.

I would have preferred Nacho bracing for the challenge. If Mangala leaves City now, he leaves a far better player because he increased his attributes.

Nacho has to keep working hard and he can still become great. I just would have preferred him training and learning under Guardiola's system.
Yes Nacho needs to keep on working hard and definitely with time he would bounced back as a better player.

thegoodjoe sorry on the demise of your great Dad.

Ordinary qualifiers for CHAN that we lost to Benin it negated the 4-0 win and 1-1 draw we had with Cameroon. Look at the other teams in our group, any attempt to draw one we drop be that. It means we must secure the 9points from that group to start with .
Chei 9 points uphill tasks for this team

The bolded is precisely well put. There's a kind of cheap tactics some are using on this thread: we take any category like youthfulness, team spirit, experience, clubside, performance, old legs, homebased, foreign born to set up totalitarian criteria. When you call for Martins team youth will attack you, when you call for young players, team experience will attack you sometimes with valid reasons but most times with emotion and sentiments cos they simply just love their category.

Do you know I once argued strenuously against the invitation of Martins but I had to re-evaluate my stance for four reasons: 1)we need at least one more attacker(2) Martins was performing at par with Ighalo in the same league (3) it's just an invitation for God sakes (4) the overall goal of glory for the team should override my personal preference and sentiments.

You see those categories I mentioned above? There are our equivalents on this thread of the tribes and tribalism issue that has bedevilled us as a nation. Tribe of youth doesn't agree with tribe of experience etc. Meanwhile we forget that what should guide our discussions is performance. Will youth help us post quality performance? Will experience help us? Will the home based help us? Will the foreign born help us? A team is not youth, home based, foreign based, team spirit solely as criterias in themselves but all of these criterias in good measure but performance trumps them all because football is a performance sports and that's what will be recorded not all the other criteria. If we like we take all the youths, if they fail to perform we will feel the pain like we did after the SA defeat. If we like let's take all the experienced players, if they fail to perform experience will not give us any satisfaction like it has never done in tourneys we took experienced players to and failed to perform. If we like let us swoon over team spirit, about chemistry if we don't perform that team chemistry will turn sour in our belle.

A team is a pot of soup being cooked for public consumption not personal consumption. It needs many ingredient to make it sweet. Let's those who love salt not say oil is not good and let those who don't like pepper say onion is all we need to make the soup sweet.

All categories must be carefully filtered through the sieve of what will give us optimal performance.
Great post

Who is he going to bench please?
I wonder o.Some like this foreign born cos of fine boy face.I know a moniker who like handsome players making the team, players like Mikel, Awaziem, Ekong,Iwobi,Ighalo.

I watched Uduokhai very well this season,i even make case for him but after what Tammy did,i need to evaluate my position on FB.

Right from U20 WC seeing a Nigerian captain German team caught my attention and that person is Kevin Akpoguma. I remember asking guys here about him until he surfaced recently in Bundesliga.

Rohr really need him but is not ready to the extent Darlington Omidiagbe was detailed to convince him but uptil now no response and some are saying these guys are straight to WC if they switch meaning players on the ground are mumu, they should come and fight for a place being a FB must not guaranteed automatic shirt.

Egwuekwe was already an integral part of the team and even featured at the 2013 confederations cup due to injury to Omeruo.

Coaches don't just hastily drop their players like that.
My point is different from yours,am not talking about dropping Egwueke but trying to debunk tbaba saying Odunlami wasn't a world cup material,am just using Egwueke as a point to defend Odunlami inclusion.

As you said he was to deputise for Ambrose and also Oshaniwa.meaning he was highly rated by Keshi.I remeber Keshi used him in one of the friendlies as RB and put up a decent game.

If not that Omeruo and Oboboana had formed a great partnership which can not be tampered with i rate the guy ahead of Oboboana cos he was a very playing ball defender, good on the air and very strong on the ball.

Those who know him then in the league rate him highly than Egwueke and Oboboana but the duo got the opportunity before him and seized it especially Oboboana.

The thing is we are always too quick to push away an old player when you see a new player even if the new player is untested. How can someone prefer Agbo to Omeruo?
A new player that has no pedigree would always appeal to them more than a proven player.

Some say I am resistant to changes and stuffs like that. If left to some even Mikel Agu would have replaced Mikel Obi.
Ha Mikel Agu no go area for me,just too glaring, it has been long i see super eagles player jittery like Agu against Zambia in the first half, thanks to Ndidi for shielding him in the second half.

Kunle Odunlami, and Shehu Abdullahi were two major revelations from the 2014 CHAN.

Going into that WC Keshi already had his backline settled. Odunlami was a CB. But we already had Omeruo, Obaobona, Egwekwe and Yobo in the team, all CBs, carried over from the 2013 AFCON winning squad.
Odunlami's exceptional abilities could not be put aside an so a space was created for him at RB instead where we already had Efe Ambrose. He couldnt have displaced Ambrose and so was a back up RB.

Omeruo and Obaobona were in a form of their lives and they had built a very solid partnership right from the AFCON and no way Odunlami could have broken that partnership. Coaches rarely break a CB pairing especially if it is a partnership that has achieved results.

Just like it is not likely for any player to break the current Ekong-Balogun partnership baring any injuries.
Yes i know all these but just to let tbaba knows that Odunlami is good cos is like he put question mark on his inclusion.

I remember he played as RB in one more of the friendly and he was okay.

This is one of the reason, the political thread is another thing entirely and if care is not taken you say what you are not supposed to say cos guys their are ready to frustrate you with their comments so sometimes better to read and leave.

I was on general thread yesterday and a moniker said something about Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo of COZA and i was forced to reply against my wish cos Pastor Fatoyinbo is a great childhood friend,we went to the same schools in neighborhood and went to the same university, very close pal but seeing somebody telling me he knows him very well and try to ridicule him with lies,i just need to come out and say stopped you don't know him and the moniker refused to press further.

So sometimes better to read and leave cos some of you guys here are popular through this thread and any of your comment you make out of annoyance guys are ready to use it against you.

Fringe super Eagles forward and Leicester U23 star, Ahmed Musa put in a full shift today as his youth side came from behind to beat their Everton counterparts 2-1 in the premier League two which is equivalent of Spanish/German regional leagues as it is a developmental league unlike the championship, league 1&2.
This guy should leave Leicester ASAP coz this is not news just like ANZ now has the gut to put Nigerians players playing in youth football in their weekly first eleven nonsense, surprisedly seeing Enyeama making the best XI of the week keeping for a Lille youth team and one Nigerian born Arsenal youth player making the team. Are they telling us playing in youth league or division three is now a good criteria for Super eagles.

how good is is Uche ball control skills and passing....?
I don't mind have him in place of omeruo..
It's simple Omeruo was out of the team for sometimes and Uche Agbo always in the team warming the bench but Omeruo got another opportunity due to injury to one of the players in the main team and at the end he was able to have 32 minutes appearance against Argentina, this should tell you he is better than Agbo.

My man you said you don't mind having Agbo in place of Omeruo and you are still asking how good is Agbo ball control skills and passing, pls a rejuvenate or back to form Omeruo is better than Awaziem and would give Ekong and Balogun a good fight for starting lineup.

Pls go back and watch Zambia vs Nigeria first leg and tell me who was better between Ekong and Omeruo minus the (error)did you know Omeruo is another good ball playing defender apart from Balogun in the team.

What really counted against Omeruo in this team was his late start this season and with more playing time we would have a better Omeruo at WC if he make the team.
