why isn't anyone calling up Dessers as well?

I'm starting to believe that the best way to make it into this team is to not declare for Nigeria.
Yes,apart from Dessers we have Kenneth Otigba who is ready to play for Nigeria but no call, also Deji declared his readiness but we are pursuing average Kevin Akpoguma who is not ready.

The call for Martins has been heard before. The last time under Keshi, he failed terribly to meet up to expectation when finally invited.

Happy the coach is looking at other GK options, would like to see what Okoye can do.

Not really in support of Martin's recall buti disagreed with you using his performance under Keshi as a point to deny him invitation now.

Did you remember Joel Obi we are clamouring for was awful when Keshi gave him the opportunity prior to 2014 WC,meaning he should be denied the opportunity again based on his performance under Keshi.

On Maduka Okoye, truly we are searching for option in GK but not a keeper keeping for Fortuna Dusseldorf team B.I don't see him as our WC options unless is extremely talented.

If Okoye is good for Eagles why is Deji Brethurer of Franfurt not good for Eagles cos it was on this thread some are saying he is too young but now Okoye is good for Eagles.

My kicking against Martins and the likes was just based on the unity of the team,i don't want any player that would derail the unity of the team.

At 18 years, that is not a bad level for a keeper. Very few coaches like to take risks with young keepers so they have to learn in lower leagues.

Okoye has played only two games ( 1 and half) this season and that is because of an injury the number 1 choice in the last few weeks. Yet to concede so far. Still playing for the B side of fortuna Dusseldorf.

He is still very young though.
Do we need him now when we have Uzoho and Alampasu, playing for fortuna Dusseldorf team B look somehow for super eagles

IGNORANCE

Omokri is an IGNORANT coward and a liar

It was Europe (France) that overthrew Gadhaffi.

Obama was a late comer to Libyan involvement. In fact, personally Obama was he most reluctant western Leader to commit to supporting Libyan rebels. All these things were admitted in Public by Gadhaffi himself.
Obama (a highly evolved person) himself has said Libya was one of his mistakes. He said it clear, simple without equivication.

Hilary Clinton then a Senator and most Republicans were mounting unbelievable pressure. She went in public to even say Obama was leading from the back.

Ultimately it was French backed rebels and a French plane that attacked Gadhaffi's convoy and got him captured and executed.

Why are people who don't know always making comments. And why does Omokri find it easy to confuse half baked Nigerian youths with pea brains
I don't know why a lot don't normally get simple message.

Reno blaming Obama on Libyan crisis was just to drive his point on how Obama influenced 2015 election, nothing more.

This is a question about humanity in general. Football or sports don't operate in isolation.
In the past, (Zimbabwe) were banned from the Olympics because African countries threatened to pull out of the games if they were admitted due to the white minority rule.
Recall Apartheid South Africa were not admitted by CAF and FIFA.

Bros, same sanctions should come down on Libya. Slavery and organ harvest is crime against humanity.
That country deserve to exist in isolation.
Truly Zimbabwe and South Africa faced sanction but the issue in Libyan is not government related but individual forming rings to engage in illicit trading of human beings. In a situation like this you can't sanction the country.

I would have even included Shehu but it's just that Shehu has had excellent showings in the Gwg than all three of them due primarily to the fact that he's featured more than the three of them in the Gwg.

In the Gwg all of Idowu, Aina and Ebuehi are level. We need to see them more before real distinctions in quality can be made between them. But for now none scales higher on the graph of experience as such more than the others.

Ha! 3-5-2 is not our main formation oo. If we perfect it, it would be just one weapon more weapon in our arsenal in addition to our traditional formations. I don't think it's a bad idea for our national team to have at least 3 formations. Germany has at least 8.
Better o cos some have seen it as the best formation.

I disagree at the bolded. Idowu played well but it wasn't because he had experience or longevity in the game more than Ebuehi or Aina. Longevity goes to Aina who signed for Chelsea when he was 11.
The trio of them made their debut in the top flights of their respective leagues in the 2013/2014 season. Idowu has 74 appearances, Ebuehi has 64 appearances, Aina has 20 for Hull this season.
Please let's take it easy on these guys (Aina,Idowu,Ebuhei)need to see them more in action.Their 45 minutes performance gave them a solid breakthrough,so remain continuity which is the main thing in football.

I remember our match against Brazil in Atlanta, the introduction of Teslim Fatusu and Victor Ikpeba changed the game especially Teslim Fatusi,he made it possible for KANU to get the needed equaliser but it doesn't mean Teslim and Ikpeba were better than those who started the game.

Truly Ebuhei and Idowu came in and Argentina switched off but does not mean they are better than those who started the game, sometimes unexpected happened in football.

Good that we are having options and goods for the team.Hope Rohr utilise this great talents cos this is the first time we having pool of talented fullbacks.

Why have CAF been silent on this Libyan crisis? Why should we play football with idiotss who sell our brothers to slavery for as little as $400?
It will be a shame if we played them in the AFCON qualifiers next year. I hope the Nigerian government using diplomatic Fiat denied then entry visa into the country incase CAF don't slam the hammer on them.
It's pure migration issue not football related issue.CAF can only condemned the situation just like normal organizations have been doing but coming in will be out of order.

Needs to talk to our brothers going through Libyan to migrate to Europe, better to go through Morocco than Libyan though is illegal route but still better than fallen into the hands of animalistic Libyans.

Hope Nigeria government responds quickly by liaise with Libyan government on the way out, just too saddened seen human beings subjected to terrible torture.

I share Kog45's thought on that 3-5-2 formation. We may not maximise the full potentials of the team.

I will still prefer the variants of 4-5-1 or 4-3-3.

Victor Moses is a major attacking threat for us. We need him amongst the forwards. But a 3-5-2 will put him at Wing back.

With a 3-5-2 a good number of wingers and Full backs would be surplus in the team and additional CBs would be needed as backs ups meaning a player like Uche Agbo would be almost guaranteed while players like Ebuehi and Aina may not make the final selection. What chances will players like Simon and Musa have if wing backs would be featured in this formation instead of natural wingers.

With the 4-3-3, I would prefer a 3 man attack of Iwobi, Iheanacho and V. Moses with Mikel the orchestrator playing behind the trio. This will also give room for our regular Full backs to feature and a chance for Simon and Musa to feature as substitutes if need be.

That 3-5-2 will not be maximising the full potential of the team.

My thoughts. Anybody with a contrary opinion? Let's discuss this.
3-5-2,oga icon4s me i no dey o that formation look so confusing sometimes and team do paid dearly for it,any sleep you are gone.

I w not be deceived by 45 minutes performance against Argentina, our traditional formations like 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 rock, though 3-5-2 might be used when it call for it but to be our main formation,No o.My team Chelsea dey hear am dis season.

Bro.... we should try to be objective when discussing Issues related to Nigerian Players, especially Iheanacho on this Thread. We are always to emotional and also look for friendly Excuse to vindicate the dwindling Performance of the Lad.

Ndidi was signed in January, he walked straight into the Lineup and has never looked back till now. Imagine a Player signed in the Middle of the Season that still won an Award at the End of the Season?!

Is Iheanacho better or more experienced than Slimani?! No one is hating on Iheanacho, neither the Manager is playing Politics with his Exclusion from the Team's List.

Luke Shaw is an English Player, he was the most Expensive Teenager when he was signed by United, so do we say JM is playing Politics by not playing him?!

Until Eric Bailly is injured, he was a Starter while an English Man in Smalling was rotten on the Bench.

Pls..... we ain't helping Iheanacho by overhyping him or creating Excuses for his exclusion from the Lineup or the Team List. If he justifies to play, he's definitely gonna be played, and we shouldn't be regretting his Move to City.
Honestly we are too double standards when it comes to our players.

Ahmed Musa did not received the same sympathy Iheanacho is receiving here when he was frozen out of the teamn, nobody blamed the managers then,it was Musa has lost it,no need to call him again.

Iheanacho should just brace up and face the challenges, not too big for him cos he has the quality.

Can someone give me one valid reason why Claude Puel put Iheanacho on the bench? Apart from pace, wetin Vardy take pass Iheanacho? For me the only more technically gifted forward is Mahrez, yet Okazaki gets to start b4 Iheanacho? I don't get it. I'm trying my best to not call it favouritism or racism. He's not even on the bench!!!
Initially i don't want to talk on Iheanacho cos some we never see reason to it due to love they have for the young boy which is understood but that should not derail our objectivity in analysing the situation in a critical way.

Firstly i remember asking Safarigirl who was the face of Nigeria football and she said Nacho but i said Iwobi. She gave her reason which i duly accepted, that Nacho was homegrown player. Now am seeing Iwobi as the face of Nigeria football cos his development is eclipsing Nacho development day by day.Iheanacho is losing it at lowly Leicester and the is not good for his career.

I see a lot here who are even super analysts shying away from the truth, trying to heaps blame on Leicester coaches for being bias and sentimental forgetting we have another player Ndidi doing it for the same club week in week out.

I don't think a club that splashed over £20m on a player should now turned around to disturb the player's growth.Iheanacho just need to brace up cos not leaving up to expectations at Leicester we have bad value on his market.

I remember Iheanacho days at Man city how thegoodjoe tried to give his pinpoint analysis on Nacho development, some agreed with him and some are not due to different view of the situation.A lot want Nacho out of City so that he could get a chance in a relative smaller club but thegoodjoe said his development would be great at City.

Truly it would have been better if he stay at city but what of our national team cos Iheanacho is one of the reliable player in the team,so need for him to seek playing time elsewhere.

Now at Leicester which a lot of fans see as an opportunity to prove his worth but reverse is the case, seeming finding it difficult to break into the team but worst not making match day team is unacceptable unless injury occurs.

We need to ask ourselves what is really the issue but i see a lot showing sentiments in driving their points, like Iheanacho is better than Vardy, who is Okazaki to bench Nacho, Slimani not a rival to Nacho, with all these excuses i wasn't surprised cos when Nacho was in City have seen some saying Nacho was better than Aguero, even before the coming of Gabriel Jesus, some said no way Nacho was better even when it was glaring these guys are better.I remember some believe Sterling should not be starting ahead of Nacho.

The same thing is repeating itself in Leicester now.I remember when Shakespeare was the coach a lot said he lacked the technical know how,he was kick and follow coach that Nacho cannot develop under him forgetting the same coach splashed whopping £25m on Nacho. When Shakespeare was sacked a lot said good, time for Nacho break into the the team, that the new coach good for Nacho development but with the new man Claude Puel story remain the same.

I see sentiments if we are saying Iheanacho is better than Vardy, forgetting Vardy is to Leicester just like Aguero is to City or Kane is to Tottenham, for Iheanacho to displace Vardy he must work and always grab his opportunity anytime he find himself in XI.Iheanacho has failed to make a statement this season and only statement is goal scoring, sometimes you see Okazaki coming from the bench and do the needful.

There is nothing like discrimination against Nacho cos we have Ndidi turning to super star in the same club,Ranieri bought Ndidi,Shakespeare took over and still used him,Claude still using him meaning his quality is not in doubt.

No need for excuses cos a lot were condemning Ahmed Musa for not making the team even some always question his national team called up but giving excuses for Iheanacho inability to make the team by questioning coaches decision is unfair.

No doubt Iheanacho is a quality striker and he must show his quality in Leicester by working hard to be a value member of the team just like Ndidi.

EEGA:
I disagree because Idowu is not left-footed and is kind of careful with his play when he plays as a LWB.

Some said Pavon was quiet, but my question is "how many times did we build up from the left?

Did he(Idowu) boss the left-flank like Ebuehi?

How many times did u see him running with the ball from the left and positioning in our own half to initiate attacks from the left like Ebuehi?

At a time it was even Ogu who tried to run with the ball from the left, but was stopped because he lacks pace.

Idowu is mainly good at defending and positioning himself in scoring positions.

These are too different things running(without the ball) to meet-up with the ball infront of goal to score, which Idowu does and running down the flank to defend , pick the ball and launch attack with the ball on one's feet which he didn't but was seen in Ebuehi.

A wing-back should be someone who is able, comfortable and ready to play the ball like V.Moses and Ebuehi. It's not just something of defending and running up to meet a cross without building up from your flank.

Am not saying Idowu is a bad player, he has two good qualities, when he plays on the left which is his positioning for a cross and his good defending.

The same thing(being right-footed) limited Aina on the left, that most times he used his right foot.

If Aina sat deep, defended and ran to meet a crosses to score like Idowu, he won't be replaced in the second-half.

He(Aina) made the mistake of trying to play the LB comfortably, forgetting that he is right-footed. He also failed to boss his flank in that game.

If you watch the match again you will see that he became cautious after we conceded the second goal by defending well.

Am just saying that for the 3-5-2 system, we need wing-backs who can comfortably go forward,build-up from their wings and be very good defensively like Ebuehi and V.Moses.

Idowu is a kind of careful while playing as a LB which is right because he is right-footed.

Teams come to the WC prepared tactically and technically.

Anyone who watched our match against Argentina will observe that the Argentines biggest mistake was concentrating their attacks on the right.

If they did what they did on the right to the left Boss we go concede because Idowu no be ball player for LWB.

But we can wait and see sha because wing-back should be ball-players.

If ball-players are not that important why is Rohr still searching for a CB?
I hope this 3-5-2 will not scattered this team in the WC,just 45 minutes performance against Argentina it seems we want to neglect our original pattern which is 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3.

As you have rightly said we are having issues with our LWB and i don't see moses playing RWB in the WC meaning we have limited players to play 3-5-2.Aina,Shehu,Ebuhei,Idowu are all RB with only Echiejele LB and he cannot function as LWB,Idowu and Aina can only be a makeshift players at LB.Even Ebuhei cannot do it as LWB as he does at RWB.

I watched Ebuhei against Mainz 05 in a friendly this season,he first started at the Right side and his performance was average,in the second half he was moved to left side, his performance was below par meaning he would be useful at RB.

Good the 45 minutes against Argentina see all the players turning to Superstars even Iwobi who was awful in the first half later put MOTM performance.Something tells me if Rohr started Ebuhei and Idowu we will still have the same performance in the first half.

Rohr should know he can't get a perfect team so he should start now, enough of switchers, with the full backs at his disposal i don't see any issue.Spain won WC with false striker in Fabregas

3-5-2 is delicate if you don't have good players to prosecute it,better for us to continue with our traditional formations but if needs arise we can use 3-5-2 but it should not be the main formation or else we pay dearly for it.

You have spoken well like an elder you are.

If you have followed Nigerian football long and well enough you'll understand where that "Nigerian factor" has taken us.
Honestly Nigeria factor.A friend who went to Ajax for tria from Nigeria league in 1997 courtesy Chris Eseaka but couldn't make it.Later went to Finland for some years, after finished his contract in Finlsnd, this pal went to Iran and i asked why Iran he said my friend you know my background i need to make money. This was a fantastic footballer now retired with cool money but potentially he is a failure as a footballer.

We have many of them out there,go to UAE you see them out there and you w keep on asking yourself why such talents in this league, look at it critically Shehu Abdullahi in Cyprus doing what.He should thank God for national team if not he would have been another wasted talent in obscure league.

The question is do we even produce players with that superlative level of potential? As in pure football geniuses before talking of the opportunity to reach the maxim limits of their potentials?
See Argentina produced a Maradona and now a Messi, Brazil produced Pele, Ronaldo de Lima Ronaldinho, Neymar. France produced Zidane. I am thinking why can't we produce a player that can win the best footballer in the world. Is it as simple as saying it boils down to the 'Nigerian factor'?
Icon4s said we are Nigeria, truly we have Nigeria factor but also individual factor on the part of the players.

Hope you have hear name like Haruna Ilerika,Segun Odegbami,Tarilla Okoronwanta,Etim Esin and Austin Okocha,i will not mention KANU cos he did not belong to this class. These are complete players with every potentials to be the world beater but some couldn't make it cos of Nigeria factor and some personal factor.

Haruna Ilerika was a complete footballer who should be running shoulder with elites of footballers in his days but Nigeria factor did not help his career,he came out when Nigeria was finding it difficult to go to WC then just two slots and professional football was not in vogue.Haruna Ilerika did not know how good he was, just playing the game for fun but highly talented player.

Segun Odegbami should have been one of the world greatest if he find his way to Europe early but then they are satisfied with playing in local league. This was a player am always likened to CR7 cos their play pattern is similar.Odegbami was a very solid all round player,23 goals for Eagles as a winger should tell you how good he was as a player and till today he remain 2nd all time highest goal scorer.Nigeria factor was the bane of Odegbami he retired unceremoniously when his is team was disbanded for losing Africa cup in the final,he say bye bye to football that night.

Tarila Okoronwanta remain one of the players that his potential was cut short coz of indiscipline. This was a player that paint Nigeria league red with his amazing skills, full of energy and pace, very good player to watch but highly indiscipline. He was one of the players that absconded when his club went to Europe.

Etim Esin was one of the great thing to happen to Nigeria football named Etim Esin maradona cos of his style, too much of skill, powerful, very fast but highly erratic. This was a player that would have shake the world of football in a special way but personal factor rub him the glory. He was shot by armed robber and dispossess of his car after sneaking out of camp and later ran away from Belgium cos of rape.Etim never fulfilled his potential as a player.

Austin Okocha has everything at his s disposal to become a great player worldwide,he has the opportunity his predecessors were lacking,he was able to escape Nigeria factor and he was highly discipline but still remain strange how Okocha couldn't fulfilled his full potential as a player, funny enough he couldn't win African best despite his talent.I can attribute Okocha shortcomings as not ambitious as a player to become extra legend of the game.Honestly he was the real diamond of Nigeria football but the glory belong to KANU who was far behind Okocha when we talk of talent. If Jayjay managed his career like KANU,Okocha would have won the best player in the world

Generally i w say Nigeria factor as Icon4s said cos we have the talents but how do we manage the talents, sometimes i see Neymer as over hype but of recent i realized he was not cos Brazil project Neymer as rival to Messi and Ronaldo but can we have the same in Nigeria,i doubt it cos we have not reach that level and poverty has been the major issues, well talented Nigeria players are ready to sign for any club even in Vietnam

Am not disrespecting the team cuz I don't know what I have said yo disrespect a team that topped the most proposed difficult team to qualify for the WC
Beating Argentina in a friendly is no where near meeting same team at the WC
What am saying is that Rohr is paid to build us a team so let him do just that seeing that our weakest poit is the defence and I know Rohr knows about this.
No one is taking away the hard work the team has put into qualifying but that is history now, the best is yo focus on the WC and build a formidable defence which is pur weakest point
Good let's talk football cos initially you are just saying Rohr is pay to do the job.

Yes truly we beat Argentina in a friendly which is good for the confidence of the team meaning the team is working.

On the defence, truly works need to be done just like other departments of the game or do you want to say Argentina team will discard their defence cos of the lost against Nigeria.

My man the defence is growing and before WC you will see a better and solid defence which everyone would be proud of

I will not deceive you i don't see any defender out there that is better than what we have now or do you see anyone cos you are finding it difficult to suggest a name.My man there is none for now and if Rohr see he w not hesitate to call hmm.I believe with what is available Rohr should be able to give us the best.

Whatever you call it that defence needs serious work!
If we stake them against a team like Morocco you will see the evident flaws not to talk of superior teams
I think this is a thread we all gather to share ideas and the only way is to make valid and cogent analysis.

Truly Rohr w not come here to read but i believe a lot read our comments to gather information.

I believe you are trying to say the defence is not good enough and guys have been asking you simple question, what did you suggest but your reply was Rohr is being paid to do the job then why commenting on the team if Rohr is pay to do the job,no need of saying the team is bad,let leave everything for Rohr and see the outcome at the WC.

I want to give brief history of Nigeria WC team starting from US 94 and defence w be our major talking points.

I love to use US 94 team as an example cos they still remain the best.In defence we have two slow CB in Okechukwu and Nwanu with average Uche Okafor and half fit Keshi deputising, our fullbacks were average Eguavoen, Ben Iroha,Mike Emenalo who was playing then Sunday Sunday football Nigeria version in Europe and India man Emeka Ezeugu, this defence conceded 4 goals.

I want to tell you that our US 94 defenders like Uche Okafor,Mike Emenalo,Emeka Ezeugu will not make this present team at this stage not even WC proper.Guys like Shehu Abdullahi,Ebuhei,Bryan Idowu,Ola Aina would give Eguavoen tough time before he can make this team,i will rate Ben Iroha slightly ahead of our present fullbacks, also Nwanu and Okechukwu ahead of our present CBs cos of experience.

The France 98 team that have solid defence with the presence of Okechukwu,Taribo,Babayaro,Oparaku,Godwin Opara,Iroha,Eguavoen and Okafor conceded whopping 9 goals while 2014 WC team with rookies like Omeruo,Oboboana,Oshaniwa,Ambrose,Egwueke,Odunlami and experience Yobo conceded 5 goals, pls can you rate 2014 WC team with this present team.

Please let's give respect to this team, this is a team with Akpeyi and Ezenwa in goal conceded just two goals from open play,so what a fuss.

I don't want to talk on Morocco cos recently we beat Argentina who are far ahead and better than Morocco.

Kayode on the bench again....
Yes on the bench just like Iheanacho and Musa not making team squad, these guys must do something about it by January, not good development for Eagles. We want to see them week in week out.

We don turn ourselves to switch box: Turn up, turn down. Mtchew.
I watched Akpoguma Kevin thrice this season i w say normal defender that play ball a lot on the ground but not spectacular and not better than what we have already in the team.If he switch, good for the team and if he said No,we w not be pained in the future like we are seeing Alaba and Dele Ali today doing it for another country.

Neither of them starts but u are entitled to ur opinion I guess.
I don't think we need to talk much on this, these guys are for post 2018 WC.

Comparing Uzoho rise with Orji is two different things,Uzoho came into the team cos we need options due to unconvincing performance from Akpeyi and Ezenwa and till today any solid keeper can still break into the team cos we are still searching.
