Do we have to keep going trough this torture every two days? The organizers of the basketball event lack human sympathy. What do they stand to gain from putting about 150 million legitimate citizens of the world throuh such pains?

In my own opinion, I think GEJ brought this upon himself. The executive have taken the lagislator for granted for a while now, turning them to ordinary 'spectators' in issues of National importance. First GEJ's govmt discribed the resolution passed by the house during the fuel subsidy saga as just an "expression of their opinion" and that there was "no going back". Secondly, the senate comittees on privatization and pensions carried out a brobe and resolutions were made, only for GEJ's government to throw their efforts into the 'dustbin'. Thirdly, the senate accused the FG of refusing to sign most of the bills it has passed, trust Abati, he came out and accused them of passing bills seeking to create more agencies. Also, the 'otteh saga' did not go down well with the lagislators.. Inasmuch as GEJ wants to be seen as a 'tough guy' he has to careful not to undermine the other arms of government considering the fact that he is not really on the good side of the people, he might not get the sympathy he needs. My common man advice to GEJ is "You don't show that you are a tough guy by closing your ears to the peoples' opinion, you earn you tough guyness by being upright and accountable, Fashola is a good example". Meanwhile, the legislators should caution him rather than threaten.

The problem with the idoma people is "the idoma people".. A typical idoma man can only fight his fellow idoma man just to gain favour from a non-idoma, also selfishness and political naivety have really affected the people negatively,they keep voting in David Mark as senator since 1999 because he promised to make "apa state" a reality.. How naive can a people be, thesame man on four different occassions with thesame promise. I bet in 2015, they will still return him to the senate based on thesame reason 'apa state'.. Thesame David Mark who flies helicorpter from Abuja to his compound in Otukpo because of the bad state of our roads. Otukpo which is supose to be the most developed part of idoma land looks like a brazilian ghetto! Idoma leaders are failures and our youth living in benue are not helping matters, they are only well known for womanizing, partying and drinking.. Until we tell ourselves the truth, things will never change!

hercules07: I believe Okonjo Iweala is indulging these guys, I do not particularly like GEJ or even Okonjo Iweala but, once someone has been appointed to a position of authority, he or she should have all the authority that goes with it, Oteh should go non-linear on the behind of all these protesting workers, who are they to determine if their boss should resume, the appointing executive has made its decision and people who are not ready to work with her can resign, on top of this, she is actually performing, I do not care if she is arrogant, as long as she can back it up with performance, then I am fine with it. The Government should give full authority to those that it appoints (appointment to MDAs should not be taken lightly), appointees should come with their team.
