aribisala0: It was claimed that accidents on bad roads are due to corruption .Seriously I think in nigeria there are more accidents on good roads.... After going through a long stretch of bad road and find a nice smooth road people see it as an opportunity to test their speedometers and see how far it can go... And there are no speed limits on this roads so they drive crazily..... Abuja is a very good example : you will wonder how anyone in his right sense will speed through an intersection in wuse2 ... But every other morning you'll find broken glasses at those junctions... |
You come across as a truly brain washed Nigerian! A simple question I want you to answer is this: If all that has been achieved as claimed by you and your PDP sponsored papers, why are Nigerians not seeing the difference? I told you before, the fact that the larger percentage of those that have responded to your claims disagree with you proves that you are not telling the truth! Ask many Nigerians, how many of them have seen PHCN staff effecting repairs to those saggy cables, burnt out transformers in their neighborhood The sub injection stations you mentioned are INJECTION sub stations not Distribution Sub Stations that serves the local transformers in your neighborhood. I told you on the other thread that the difference between what happened during Yar'dua time when the grid collapsed is "load shedding" bitter lessons not necessarily that Nigeria now has a 'SMART GRID' in place! I remember watching a documentary on Nigeria's transmission networks and I shook my head in disbelieve that engineers were using walkie talking to ring their counter part at other stations miles away to inform them of the surge coming their way. I watched QUEST channel on SKY UK few days on ago and I was amazed how american power distribution was being controlled but one huge center and how at peak demand times engineers were drawing lines on the screen to move 'energy' from one part of the US to another! I was so impressed that they send remote signals to injection stations to kick start or short down different turbines miles away! http://allafrica.com/stories/201210030784.html ...ENJOY!
Dude I hope you don't expect a miracle or magic for electricity to be 24hrs?? What he was saying is that there is improvement and steady improvement will surely get us there : ur talking about drawing lines on screens? Do u think that happened overnight?? If there had been this progress since the time of OBJ we should have been somewhere by now.. I think GEJ is taking the power sector serious and that's all that matters... |
shymexx: This woman has to be the most confident woman in the world going out like this with that cheese fat belly...Thick...Confident..and Proud!!! nothing beats that... btw: Calabar men like thick madames.... |
Concept: A lot is wrong with the pics, the president had no eye contact with the military man, the military man was preparing to have a handshake whereas in their way of life, they usually salute senior colleagues & the president should be seen as the commander in chief. Eye contact means a lot as well as the way you shake hands. Those traits sometimes exhibit your level of confidence.Dude did u reason that the handshake could have been after the salute and when the president raised his hand for an informal handhsake dont just draw conclusions from one shot.. |
Knowledge9000: If you declare, problem. If you refuse to declare, problem. What do you need my friend? Forget about all these lies about Bureau de change receipt and bank slip nonsense...they will ask for more. No be Naija we dey. They just want to cut share from it.Are you seriously saying it makes sense to carry that amount in cash across the border...without prooving the source of the cash??.... the fact that the authorities have not been doing the right thing since or that many people do it (in nigeria) dos not make it right. doing buisiness of over $400,000 with a personal account dos it make any sense to you?? Our banking sector has evolved greatly its not as it used to be before... all am saying is there are better, safer and easier ways of spending $400,000 in china that carrying it in cash.... We shloud be hailing the authorities for this new wave; am very someone or something has changed in that department cos they seemed to have sat up recently.... |
Some people just because its Government that says something.. they must oppose... It really doesnt make sense to sell coffin near a hospital.... very bad for both morale and pshyche of patients+ friends and family |
I did read it o!! But the truth is simple.. BAN IT OUTRIGHTLY!!!!!!!!! Reason.. Importing will always be more favorable and chaeper.
Am very sure that if it was BANNED OUTRIGHTLY as u say... most people will have come to say GEJ is clueless that he has no plans he should have put measures and all sortss... same with subsidy...... Me thinks its a very good step... next phase will be the full ban when our own has grown full legs to stand |
InvertedHammer: They announced the ban on sugar about two weeks before the ban takes effect. Those that are in the industry must have seen it coming........ na you do yourself if you go and import without doing your homework.... |
seunfly: yeah! you are right, but how many uni graduate will want to do traffic management and stay under the sun in Nigeria especialy Lagos. Just thinking loud!!!Timariv Port harcourt..... |
Many South Koreans concerned about the country’s increasing religious polarisation are

taharqa: Now assuming this #6.2billion is actuali to be usd for publicity (whateva dat means), then it is both wasteful and stu.pid. Howeva, i seriously doubt it; and what to see d Minister being directly quoted as saying it, and also importantly wud want to see the breakdown of the proposd Budgetary spending. Since Oct, many Nigerian newspapers reportd that the Presidency was going to use #1.3billion to feed itself cos they saw d sum as d amount proposd under the heading 'food, entertainment and other expenses' when the actual amount meant for food and entertainment for thousands of ppl (villa residents and guests) was #203million when the details of d that budgetary heading was releasd. Moreova, only #17million was approvd for publicity dis yr from d article, so it hard to bliv dat #6.2billion wud be usd for 5 yrs when only #17m was appropiatd in d main yr of lobbying for the bill..... Lets find out the details sha, and if it is true that #6billion was actuali proposd just for publicity (again, what d heell does dis mean), then it is most wasteful and shld not be approvd by d NA, periodBross ur head get oil!!!... Tot I was the only one that didn't see where she said she'll spend that amount... |
i think its very wrong and unethical.. they should be sued or something.. they were not paid to give thier personal views or opinions ON AIR..... |
Its obvious GEJ reaaly wants the power sector to work...cos his relection will be based soley on that..... I really doubt he will do anything to sabotage it, no matter the amount of money involved.... |
playmode: No dumbazz,it is you that GOD needs to deliver from the pit of abject mental slavery.I don't give a sh*t about Jonathan and his family. When the looters and their relatives die in this country it is their slaves who weep the most. They do not care about you so why care about them.Jonathan and his crew are a bunch of heartless animals who deserve death for the high treason they have perpetrated in this country. When his wife was overseas and sick ,it is the slaves who were crying here on nairaland wishing her speedy recovery. If you still can't deduce what i am getting at then you are a slave ,a typical African slave. When people like you realize that Africa will never progress unless we stop worshiping these cretins who we also intentionally elect knowing beforehand that they mean us harm ,maybe then we can build this continent. Until then we will remain what we are, the the most idiotic , intellectually deficient, regressive and primitive race on GOD's green earth. It is people like you who are holding this continent back because instead of being intelligent ,calling a spade a spade and doing what is right and just ,you prefer to hail your slave masters like this : Alaye Baba, Director general,Commander general, commodore, chief chief,Area father, Alhaji , Honorable and all those other ridiculous titles you bestow upon them to receive handouts. The truth is a bitter pill to swallow but it is the truth and no amount of "and co" mentality on nairaland will make me stop voicing my opinion no matter how painful it may sound to some here.we don hear... next time try use normal font size... u dnt need to shout... |
mrkels: We didn't respect our own prophets, that's what happened, we never encouraged them and we didn't give them a chance, I also think the government didn't help matters too. If it was a better country, the governemt would make dstv face unbearable challenges that would make them run away from the country thereby causing the nigerian companies to grow. Anyways, maybe they did, and dstv did some lobbying and the governmet couldn't do anything in the end. You really never can tell! Not entirely true.. HiTv did not deliver quality enof to chase dstv away.. U can rememba that when hitv got the epl license dey felt that was all and didn't develop oda channels.. Thier commentary was whack as hell... People bought it and still retained thier dstvs... And I don't think they did thier homework well... |
Lol.... Nice one... |
Skimmed through the post, didn't read through it closely. But doesn't seem like new technology? Just making tech under adverse circumstances? If you have a solid engineer and he has access to a machine shop he can probably make pretty much anything. Unless the purpose is just ot learn, things only become interesting if: A) He makes something novel B) He makes it cheaper than it ordinarily is made Otherwise, nothing really groundbreaking, is it?
This was the 60's nothing short of groundbreaking for d time in question. |
okpara ugo: Dont mind them. They are remodelling airports when our roads are un-motorable. What percentage of Nigerians use the airports frequentlyIf u don't have anything to say just ignore the post.... |
toygod2: Attention, one thing u guys dont understand is dat, either directly or indirectly,u are helping her to market the song.Nigeria is a little different oooooo.... where is "Oyato" now?? |
pDude: Hmmm! This song is terrible o!!I doubt that ooo... cos most people didnt even bother listening to the song.... people where just waiting for her to release it... upon all trends the song still has below 500 views on youtube.. The mistake she made was having that tweet-fight |
First, I must say that jungle justice is wrong. What the AlUU villages should have done is beat those boys, unclad them if they must, and handle them over to the police. That's how criminals are handled everywhere. That beating aspect is compulsory even d police beats their suspect before arrest.. That being said, I want you guys to wake up from the nitemarez of the video and face some hard truth.. 1. Majority of these suspects you see here are purely innocent. They were arrested at random. If you know d streets of 9ja n how police operates, u won't dispute this claim. 2. If u ever lived in a student community as rugged as Ekosodin(Uniben), Ekpoma(AAU) e.t.c. You would join in planking those boys to death. Or better yet just watch it unfolds as an inactive audience. You know why ? 3. Those boys did not go to collect money. They went to pull a hit. They went at a very odd time and they went with a gun. 4. In Ekosodin were I schooled from, wen these cult boys pulls any hit, they do it in the most horific manner. They shoot in the eye, cut off people's tongues, butcher with sharp knives. E.T.C 5. Perhaps this ALUU community people have been witnessing these kind of things. And suddenly they catch one of those "invicible" killers. What would u have them do ? 6. If u were in that crowd and your close friend, course-mate, brother was previously murdered gruesomely, what will u do? Will u risk ur life to try stopping it? Will u participate? Or will u just watch if u got d heart to ? 7. Till this date I have decided not to watch dat video cos I know it will disturb me mentally. But I have seen/heard gruesome killings and these aluu4 boys are NOT CLOSE to innocent people. 8. I hate to judge, but what if those 4 boys are one of those killers that goes abt off-campus killing people's children? And u heard they were burnt alive but didn't get to see d video, would u still be feeling dis way ? 9. The boys are definitely NOT armed robbers. But they are cultists and they went with their hitman to pull a hit. 10. I condemn d killings, police should please fish out the actual killers and not some random persons who could have done nothing but watch. The spectators should all be FREED. If I was there and I wanted to play good samaritan, I would call d police. But if I was there and the police is also there. All I can do is watch cos d people who ought to tak charge are there already.. U get me ? Thanks 4 taking ur time to read this.. Oya make una begin pure out una hate n anger n watever.. That's my piece of mind...
Bross watch the video first am sure you will swallow most of your words...... am ready to bet that you have not seen anything like this before even in action film.... FYI: in a community like that it is students that get robbed/bullied by villagers or students robbing themselves not the otherway round... The only person on that scene i can forgive is the person that recorded the video(wether he did it for fun or not).. at least it made this case to be taken very seriously.... |
Horus: If instead they spend this N654.02 million on Solars Panels they can have free electricity from the sun 24 hours per days and 365 days per years. Another case of mismanagement.Am not sure you know what it takes to generate electricity with solar panels or have an idea of the cost to generate the amount of electricty needed... you just feel like commenting... The money covers the cost of maintenance of plants and generators as well as the cost of fuelling them. The money also covers the amount set aside to replace some generators in the institutions under the Presidency. Are we saying that agencies like State House Quarters, the BPE, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission National Identity Management Commission, ICPC the Bureau for Public Procurement The National Emergency Management Agency Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission should not have backup power supply..... There is no serious place in the world that dont budget for backup power suplly even the WHITHOUSE... i doubt if people here read the post...before commenting |
Na wa oooo... naija wish way ![]() |
kaii brosss... sorry oooo.... but Nairaland cannot help u on this matter.. soldiers pritect their own.... even if u get to report it to the commander... they'll promise u justice but na thier eee end.... |
All of them ooooooooo... i wonder the kind of training the customer service people get.. and no supervisor or manager to keep them in check.. they do as if the work is by force.... except u have million-million in ur account |
Firstly it definitely was not mob action.... it was MURDER... The mob was sane enough to carry them to a "village chief" this man could have told them to beat up the boys and hand dem over to the police.. but NO he pronounced judgment on them......and some very zealous murderers went ahead to kill them..... How can you say you understand the community...are there no mothers or people with compassion in that village ?? have you not heard of stories where an elderly woman in the community will take of all her clothes begging for the boys life.. that would have saved them.. how can you understand a community where women will come out and watch people lynching young boys...(no matter thier crime) ... Which government are you blaming for this The easiest way out of any situation now is to blame the govt.... |
Publicity stunt or not..... Cheap shots so far as e enter Net na still goal |
