Where is the conference? and what is it about? Dude i think after your passport has been stamped and your finger print taken, you need to come up with a better plan b. Or else if it gets stamped again, i don't think you will ever visit this Great Country. So make sure you know your odds!!!

@ Kbstar

Sorry for your encounter, but i must say that these animals do it to thousands everyday without being accountable.

@Omon

The only way that these MF's will stop if the Nigerian citizenry is Armed,Locked and Loaded and this nonsense of leaving in fear will end. Trust me, a bunch of people will die initially after the law is passed. But in the long run things will level out and people will not be harrassed and have thier human and civil rights violated by these untrained,corrupt,illiterate, imbeciles. I will love to point a nice Smith and Wesson @ one of these MF's head and see our roles reversed.

@Ijebuman
I am sure you mean well by hooking KB with all that info and possible legal representation, but we all know it is a waste of time. Badges are fake,no accountability, and we should thank God he is alive to tell us this story. But please i think KbStar's prayer to his God is his best line of Defense or you should try and give the hook up to buy "Heat".

They will bounce you if you use a conference as an excuse. Look for a better reason and you might just be lucky. Did they take your finger print?

I think u need a better reason than a conference,especially if you have been bounced b4 and your passport was stamped.

Have you set an interview date yet? Have u travelled b4 or are you using a virgin Passport?
If you know any one that has recently tried and failed, ask them how their experience was, and then see if you can do the opposite.

Good Luck Bro!

Where in the US do u want to go? State,City,Hotel,Family ETC

How Long are you staying?

Do u have a Job?

Why should the person on the other side of the window, trust that you will be back?

Those questions are necessary for you to answer and answer confidently.

GoodLuck!

Ur company does not do a package for Nigeria? Now if you r the biggest in the UK, i am scratching my head and wandering why you guys don't go to the most populated and biggest country in West Africa? Hmmmmm tell us where your clients go and why, now for those reasons i think we know why Nigeria is not a huge tourist destination.

I went to a Local Tours and Travel person yesterday and told them i wanted to visit Africa and i needed suggestion, they did not know i was Nigerian, they thought i was African American. I had a budget of $2000 FOR FOOD,Ticket and Hotel and sightseeing. U know we talked for about 30Min's and Nigeria was not even mentioned or suggested and i even told her that she should stick to East and west Africa.

I am not sure what the argument is, Is any one here saying that OBJ is not a first class thief? Or that our Reps,Governors, Ministers,Senators,Police,Customs,Immigration,NDLEA,Local Government chairmen, are all Criminals. The truth is that i am sure all clear thinking Nigerians, know that our government is broken and we would be foolish not to expect this to have originated from the top,down.

From OBJ To the Police man on the streets in Naija are all corrupt day light robbers. The is a saying that goes birds of the same feather.............OBJ Has one of the most corrupt persons in Africa today as his VP.

OBJ is a first class thief and my prayers is that one day he should be brought to Justice.
If he gets a third term, i hope we can all arm ourselves home and abroad and take back our country from these MuthaF***K**S!!!!!

Oh my Bad Exu

I see that you are saying that Universal Healthcare is a good thing. At least i hope that is what you are saying that the US doesn't have Universal Healthcare, and therefore it is a Bad thing abi?

Nigeria with anykind of Healthcare for it citizens, will be a good thing.

We can agree to disagree, and i think we have strong opinions, that maybe based on our experiences in life. But on my last trip to Nigeria, I did go to Obudu cattle ranch and infact i flew Aero to Bebi from PH. I spent my hard earned money in Naija and i visited at least 8 states in 6weeks. But i also went to Kenya last year, and even in Ghana, my experience was much better. And if i looking for a bang for my buck and i am a tourist, i will not be visiting Naija.By the in Ghana, i went to Accra,Kumasi,tema,cape coast (That was cool). But anyway from an unbiased position, i could not compare those countries. Mombasa has to be one of the most beautiful places i have been to.

@Ijebuman

Next time i am in Naija i will do the Yankari Game Reserve.Pictures really look good, i will head to Bauchi..........

Thanks

There is no Universal Health care in the US. I think you are confusing the US with Canada or Maybe UK. We usually pay for Health Insurance here. But if Nigeria can offer it's citizen any kind of Health care whatsoever, i must say we should all applaud that effort.

Well said, I think we need African Americans as much as they need us. The Caribbeans have don a good job in aligning themselves in the Diaspora,we need to reach out more in the Motherland.

@Hero
Big up to you and peeps for going back home. Please encourage people to have a discussion about our differences, a lot of us have some strong beliefs and all we need to do many times, is sit down and talk and many times we fail to even communicate with each other.

Do u actually believe that a country with nearly 150million people and nearly 15million abroad, have not talked positive about Nigeria. I think your sentiments for your country run a little bit too high and make you distort the facts a lot. Think of yourself as a tourist say from ehhhhh New Zealand, you have a two week Vacation and you have a choice of Ghana,Kenya, SA,Nigeria, Botswana,Egypt of even Ethiopia. Which one would you go to. Trust me Tourist do more research than you give them credit for. The truth is that when you think of Naija as a tourist all you know is that there is Advanced Fee Fraud and Oil. That is not a perception, that is for real. Now these people can only Land in Lagos,Kano,ABJ or PH. Then you expect them to ignore their experience in Lagos but just think of what Calabar had to offer?

Listen people fly into DC but are whisked thru the NW part of the city.People go to Chicago and do not need to the South side,People go to NY and straight to Manhattan,you go to London and can just do central London, or head to Brighton or fly directly to Manchester. My point is i hope there will be a flight from Accra to Tinapa or Obudu cattle ranch, or to the game reserve and give these tourist what they came for. Sights,sounds and relaxation.

Build it and they will come. In Nigeria's case it is Build it well,offer security and they might come.
Trust that many tourist thru word of mouth have told other not to waste their money on Naija,especially when there are great alternatives an hour away just head west!!!

If na u be tourist you for go Naija on Vacation? Haba put yourself in their shoes, they do not have family nothing, all they do is rely on the government for protection. U for Go? Talk True...

Single Entry Visa to Naija from Yankee $100 AND YOU WANT PEOPLE TO COME AS TOURIST?
That is a Joke. South Africa,Brazil,all free infact you can go to Jamaica with your US driver's license. Please my brother let us call it like we see it. It does not matter how hard we talk, the government has to create the scenario for tourism and maybe Nigerians might even patronize their own facilities.
Donald Duke i must say is doing a good Job in Calabar/Tinapa.That is a rare example and i plan to visit when it is complete. The cable cars in Obudu a great Idea.

Wow i do not know where to start. But first let me apologies on behalf on Nigerians for the derogatory name calling that many of us do, many times unconsciously but nevertheless it is wrong and i am saying sorry. But i agree with you, i was in Accra not too long ago and noticed that there is an aggressive campaign to court African Americans back to the motherland and i think it is working very well. But you must understand that there are many reason why Ghana will work and Nigeria will not. Hey Ghana Airways adverts runs constantly in the states and there are direct flights unlike Naija.

First of all,Ghana has a more stable Economy and a stronger sense of citizenry than we do. Hey things general work in Ghana,there is constant power, taxis are very clean,roads are generally good,water is readily available ETC. Those fundamentals are not there in Nigeria or rather at least not as widespread. But anyway i talk to a lot of my African American Buddies and they tell me the want to visit Ghana,Liberia, and Senegal. When i ask what about Nigeria, they have this funny look on their face and we go thru this long silence and it comes down to where it more favorable.

Hey because of Oil we have abandoned our Natural resources in wildlife,rivers,lakes,beaches ETC. And i still am not sure why the Nigerian Embassy charges $100 for a single entry visa. That really discourages Tourist. I do not know a country that wants foreign currency that charges so much for a visa. Kenya,SA,Senegal,Ghana and Ivory coast are all free or nearly free.

So to answer your question honestly, we simply are not interested in Tourism and that is why the tourist stay away. We have a boat load of internal problems and many times we need to think outside the box or at least hear from outsiders to solve our problems, but i am not sure we are interested in that either, hey after all we are the happiest people on earth....!

Ha!

@Ijebuman,

How do we change the perception of our populous, b4 we can even start changing hearts and minds of tourist with hard currency. I think tourism in Nigeria has never in the history of our country, been a focal point of attraction for indigences and foreigners alike. I hate sounding like a pessimist, but how do i tell sell Nigeria to someone that is looking @ doing a 5nights 6days safari in Kenya?

OPEN LETTER TO OBJ/Minister of Aviation.

Please re-evaluate contracts to a panel and let us have some kind of bidding system for these contracts. The best bang for or Tax payer money, is in our national interest. Using nearly $1million to cut grass even for a long period of time is absolutely ridiculos. I am sure they can also throw in filling the potholes on the runway as a bonus for that amount.

OBJ is a criminal and i am glad i can say that without fear of prosecution.
Kokscity will love to see some of these our " so called leaders" flogged in public.

There is saying that goes that "common sense is not common". The man is talking about a place he was born and raised and we have" chicken heads" telling him that he is exaggerating without any facts to back it up. You must just keep running your mouth, then you go to mentor and report people when you do not like what they say.

You must need to slow your roll. I think your problem is that you type then think. It is an impulsive problem that can be found during puberty. Solution: Shut up and let people post or make their point/opinion before you add your 2cents. Results: It makes you look like a Complete dope with a ? on his or her face.

Many times we want to be Positive about that country, but if i were a potential Tourist and wanted to go to west Africa on Vacation and i am doing research, i will look at Ghana or even Senegal as more suitable locations. When people hear of Sosoliso and Bellview and read The state dept website recommendation for Nigeria, there is not much to defend. The Tinapa project is a great Idea, i just hope that we can begin our charity @ Home. Virgin/Nigeria,BA,KLM,Lufthansa and the rest are always fully booked carrying Nigerians to popular destinations abroad.

If we need to make money from Tourism, Nigerians need to take the lead and go to Locations in Naija first b4 flying all over the place. But local travel is very dangerous in Nigeria and tourist will need assurances to get to those locations.

Bottom Line we can make money in Tourism with more local content.Hell we have the population that can patronize our vacation spots.
