colchrist:No where in all of it did they take any responsibility meanwhile they are governors enjoying the perks of the office and earning salaries etc. Wow. |
Greggyyy:If it's a long hair showline you need contact Pera GSD. He's trusted and breeds some wonderful long hair showline GSD. |
BoluwatifePromi:Now you just balanced your info on red meat, junk food, ice cream etc for humans. That would have been good if same balance was given while advising on fast food left over. I did that a long time ago when I did not know enough and I suffered the consequences. I am glad to share from my experience as post I reacted to did not post that caveat. Peace. |
Walekennel:Fast good remnant is the fastest way to kill your dog with the onions and additives and seasoning in it. Organ failure will come knocking on your door. I know cos I did this many many years ago as a dog owner. Not a good advise. I had to check again. You own a kennel and you're advising someone to feed their dogs on fast food remnant? ![]() |
OK...thought I was only one feeling this. Monthly feeding of my dogs was averagely about 50k per month. Now it is almost double. Worse when I have pups that have just been weaned. Puppy kibble is costing more now. Home made meals maybe cheaper but not convenient for some of us. The idea of having a fish or small poultry beside is good though but some of us may not be able to manage that. The canines are enough wahala already. Well we that have opportunity to sell pups at least can augment that cost but buyers will suffer the brunt ...unfortunately. |
SavageResponse:She's been on the wire for some time. She disappears and reinvents herself with another scam gigue. She's made enough enemies for her to now come to Interpol level. Her fellow students in Ghana used their fees to 'invest' in one of schemes then. Some are still being owed till today. They begged for their principal back. She disappeared and appeared with another scheme. That is when people she was owing started lodging complaints. |
Surprised her arrest is being brought up just now. She's young and has been in game for a while. Scammed her school mates in Ghana back then I think even as a teenager. Tried to stage her disappearance recently with concocted missing stunt and was traced to the US. Muna is a legend. A young one. She will most likely spend a very long time in jail if and when caught. |
Depends on many factors. Age, litter history if not a virgin, blood lines, long or short hair, direct import or not, pigmentation, size, documentation, sellers reason to want to sell and perception of value. So the range is wide depending on any of the factors above coming to play. 500k to 2M |
Your analysis is a bit too simplistic. The risks which you have rightly noted should be allocated made provision for using worst case scenario. Then you should also consider 8 month cycles. Heat in 6 months whelping 2 months later so 2 litters in a 12 month cycle may not occur except your dam has 4 month cycles. Make allowance for "no show" situations too. Of course I will expect your plans covers progesterone or cytology tests before mating to manage risks like no show from blind mating etc. Furthermore the breed and quality of your breeding stock can affect that ROI figure/ projections. The margin of error for these averages can be surprising wide. A quality and breed specific analysis may be better. For example if you want to do GSD, premium quality, pedigree long hair may be imported too. An adolescent female may cost you 1.2M minimum. It can also be as high as 2..3m. Depending on origin blood lines etc. You can recoup that capital and other attendant costs in very first successful breeding. Very possible. Then every other 8 months again another successful litter can bring 2.1m revenue with profit of about 1.6m deferring stud fees, vet fees, nutrition and care. Do note all these calculations can fall like a pack of cards in 1 minute if something goes wrong ![]() |
Bath, dry with a clean towel then finally blow dry with a hair dryer. |
How old is she? Is she the runt of the litter? What's the size of her mother? |
Dog4real:Well you didn't state if it was male or female but I'll take the liberty that its female. Female GSD will shed within 60+/- days to coning on heat. This is quite normal. Since there are no signs of rashes or skin infection it should be OK. Yours maybe one of those heavy shedders that comes on tufts of hair. |
How old? Sex? Is the hair loss seasonal or continuous? Any noticeable under hair rashes lesions or breaks? What type of diet is on? Where are its resting/ sleeping quarters. Indoors or outdoors? |
Victorigho2:And in all your know how you'll buy GSD with white gloves and call it quality ![]() Maybe you are not aware that spaying or choosing not to breed less desired gene pools is an advised option. |
Quality GSD even with all the white gloves. Okay. |
You could have gone ahead to get the pure cauc and learn from there on. I'm almost certain you'll breed these two when they are old enough and the cycle continues.... Mutts every where. Besides you'll still spend same amount as you would on a cauc on maintenance as you would have on these. |
Poor business management. I was looking to find a way to contact you for a dress or two but I couldn't help but notice how you ignored enquiries from two potential customers like me. |
Eliasaph:Already the lines have been called...... Workline ....showline. So expected. |
EgbohRaymond:Pics seen. A side view will have done better justice though. Lovely dogs you've got. |
I do agree with you that show lines have turned out to have less drive but some breeders have been able to selectively breed showlines with relatively medium to high drives. This temperament is suited to persons and families that may not necessarily by hyper or have so much work but do have a genuine love for GSDs. So its like a win for these persons too. Besides the showlines are not deficient at learning if done properly and started early enough. |
I may be wrong but I think she's a slant back with very slight angualtion. The deep from the waist is a signal. Do you have parents pics. I'd be interested to see. There's a slant back configuration in her lineage. I strongly think so. |
EgbohRaymond:Are you sure she's a straight back? |
More than 15 estates? A conservative estimate should be more than 50 estates. |
Benz4pimp:I'd like to learn the relativity of expensive. I don't know which breed you got into Nigeria at 150. € ¥ £ N or $. I'd like to learn too. However I do know, from experience particularly with GSD, that I've spent up-to N1.3M on two different occasions to import them here. I have 5 dogs and all except one are imported from outside Nigeria. My aim was to get the best quality in the line I choose to play in. With an investment of over N4M I will not sell cheap. So it's not a Nigerian thing. If you have a scarce commodity you might as well max out. There's an opportunity responve whose curve is constantly heading down. Especially without innovation or new strategy. |
Geazon looks good. Length, coat, mask and head conformition. Maybe it was showing the photographer abeyance hence the ear shaped that way. ![]() Top top dog. |
Great insights I must say. I may add that there is a subtle dilemma which who I may call authentic breeders, face. That thin line between taking breeding as a business and giving it the required detail. In the midst of the loving pet feeling there are iKYssues of financial record keeping, business strategy, risk management, marketing, branding, scaling/ appropriate growth models, strategic partnerships and the works. Some persons who have the know how having run other businesses are surprised at the way so called breeders in the show. Some have felt it can't be better but coming from a background of being thought to question all assumptions we have to raise our head above water. There is a huge potential, though dependent on other factors, for this informal economy in Nigeria. We must run it in a manner that it commands the respect it deserves. I have seen some movements in terms regularising the industry. We are even behind our neighbors Ghana not to talk of South Africa. We must however not loose hope but begin to start doing things right. Brick by brick. Line by line.

Jh0wsef:I don't get how and why people come to ask what breed it is they have. You already know one of the parents is mixed and the other is the local dog what do you expect the offspring to be? When people are advised to stop indiscriminate, unbridled , unhealthy and I don't know what again breeding they will come for the person. Buyers also stop buying all these mutts and keep multiplying them. Yes I know pure bred dogs can cost an arm and a leg you're much better off if you do try, as much you can to get one. If not now plan to get one. Peace. ![]() |
Somebody tell me that the 'big boy' is not Sonny Ayere owner of lorem meristem. Congratulations to you Sonny. Finally ![]() |
