Your idea makes lots of sense and I advocated for precisely that a few pages back. ISWAP are good, but the Chadians are on another level.

That's a fact. I highly respect them and so do most foreign intelligence services. If there was a way to pay them to battle ISWAP and Boko Haram on our behalf we should explore it, cos they are serious about what they are doing.

As for us lacking money to buy arms you must be mistaken. There's plenty money in Nigeria, but the political class is focused on chopping this alone and allowing the barest minimum scraps to others.

Check the allowances a Nigerian senator earns. They get 26 million a month and that's not even counting the bribes and kickbacks they receive on the regular.
They also drive armored cars, as if Abuja is a war front. They have garages full of exotic cars and private jets, but no actual business other than being senators and house of reps members.

There are seemingly no funds to buy arms, yet most senior army officers have mansions in Dubai. I still remember the case last year where a general asked some troops to carry around a billion naira to somewhere and they just shared it among themselves and ran. How does a general get access to a billion naira?

So, there's plenty money. What we lack is the will to see this war end.
Agreed without ❓

From my observations the top brass seem to be seeking the best deal particularly in the NA that puts the most money on thier pockets.

As a consequence best value is fed to the dogs.

How much does a brand new Toyota gun truck cost and how much does a used APC cost.

Which would you rather be in when you are in a fire fight and which gives you the best initial protection.

OVER 200 BOKO HARAM KILLED BY MILITARY BOMBARDMENT IN SAMBISA FOREST

Military Bombardments kills over 200 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Sambisa Forest, 37 Soldiers die as Army Logistics Truck carrying bombs, Artillery weapons explodes.

Air strikes and Land bombardments by Air and Land components of Operation Lafiya Dole on Buk, a Boko Haram and ISWAP Command Center inside Sambisa Forest between Saturday 21st and Monday 23rd March 2020 has led to the killing of over 200 terrorists and some of their commanders, with many of their logistics equipment and arms destroyed.

This is just as an explosion of one of the military trucks carrying bombs and other artillery weapons of the fighting troops meant for consolidation and protection of cleared strongholds captured from the terrorists, exploded unexpectedly, killing more than 30 Nigerian troops inside the forest.

Fifteen (15) of the soldiers who sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the explosion, have been evacuated to Maiduguri for medical intervention.

Sources however disclosed that the explosion of the logistics truck carrying back up bombs and ammunition for artillery fire meant to level remaining strongholds of Boko Haram/ISWAP marauders inside the forest may have been the [b]handiwork of informants (5th Columnists) within the military who must have revealed movement of troops.

It was gathered that after surveillance and intelligence reports showed that more than 500 terrorists and their Commanders, (size of a Brigade) were operating a camp in Buk, inside Sambisa Forest and it was from there many of their attacks either suicide or ambush attacks were being organized and launched, the authorities decided to embark on a clearance operation of the Camp.

In the first wave of artillery and fighter aircraft strikes, hundreds of the terrorists were annihilated and their equipment and weaponry destroyed even as troops continued to march forward with high morale.

However, when the second wave of gallant troops began the back-up movement with a view to securing the already cleared areas in Buk, fifth columnists within the allegedly tipped Boko Haram that the back-up fighting force was coming with trucks loaded with more bombs and artillery ammunition to finish any remnant of the terrorists group hence the truck was targeted and its impact killed many of the soldiers.

Confirming the development on Tuesday, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche said, “As you know, we are in a fluid conflict situation and our gallant troops are out there at the frontlines. Between 21 and 23 March 2020, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, were on clearance and fighting patrol operation to Gorgi in Borno State which successfully done.

“However during consolidation they were ambushed by elements of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT). Sadly, we suffered some casualties in the unfortunate attack.

“However the Air Component of Operation Lafiya Dole scrambled immediately and provided Close Air Support to the ground troops.

“While the Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform as well as the fighter jets engaged the Boko Haram Terrorists immobilizing, killing some of the terrorists and immobilizing a gun truck.

“Some others, who attempted to withdraw, were also mopped up by the jets in follow-on attacks.

“The Defence Headquarters commiserate with the families of our fallen gallant heroes who paid the supreme price in the course of defending our fatherland.

“We assure Nigerians that the Armed forces and other security agencies in furtherance of the objective of restoring peace and security in the North East and other parts of the country will continue to sustain the offensive against the enemies of our nation.”
Some of these assumptions you make leave me bewildered sometimes. You have been here for a very long time so l just don't get it.

You make claims of 5th columnists as being the primary reason for this ambush. I am sorry it just doesn't cut it for me.

Here you are in the middle of a " kill zone" with two huge bright yellow and quite noisy dumpster trucks.

Do you think that Boko don't have look outs? ❓ hidden observation posts and even some very basic drones. They know your coming and prepare a welcome.

The terrain is off road and very hard, those big dumpster will have limited mobility including the heavy MRAP's probably operating at less than 5mph. How long does it take to set up an attack❓

Those huge dump yellow trucks will be easy targets for any Boko combatant trained or untrained. They are sitting yellow ducks.

You can not really call it an ambush because nobody should be suprised.

You go into Sambisa it's a fire fight you will not be welcomed with flowers. You already know you are going to get hit just a matter of when.

In that regard you should be expectant and therefore prepared. Your response should be devastatingly offensive and not defensive, but that's if you've got the right weaponry.

But we go into a firefight with soft skinned pick up trucks. And very heavy immobile for the terrain MRAP's with no run flat tyres. Boko simply blow out your tyres and stall your advance.

My opinion is that NA have literally been working miracles with the limited equipment they have.

Am happy his around to feel what we undergo, things are worst here and boys morale are still high.
For those criticizing the general, things like these needs to happen once in a while so that people in Abuja and AHQ. We need to do serious shopping for the army, right now the Nzegwu/Proforce MRAP should be the standard means for all our troops.
The first casualty of war is the TRUTH.

However, when your own side is giving disinformation and creating the impression that the NA is indisciplined and lacking the will to fight.

Add to that they are clearly poorly equipped and being deathly handicapped. Here is a general in the forward thrust of an attack.

That's says to me that the politics of corruption has dug deep very deep into the NA. Unfortunately some of these guys in the top brass not all but some are essentially committing high treason.

Looking at the equipment they have, its not fit for purpose, its a near suicide mission.

Imagine an MRAP being used as the forward vehicle for a frontal assault. That's far from ideal. But to not even have run flat tyres is criminal negligence.

Our guys are literally trying to dig trenches with table spoons.

What's dissapointing is that everyone in the top brass knows this. But self interest has superceded national interest and best practice. As a consequence soldiers die unnecessarily.

VERY SAD.

This general is a man of honour and integrity, he standing with his soldiers and putting his life on the line.

He watched soldiers who could easily be his sons ripped to pieces before his eyes. Do you think he has not sent messages and reports using the official channels. But what happened ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

He knew he was putting his career and personal safety at risk. He has sacrificed himself for the better of his soldiers he wasn't going to be a coward and desecrate the memory of his gallant men who have fallen.

For me l salute General Adeniyi one of the few true patriots left a man of uncommon honour .

People are dying like chickens in Italy and Spain.

Nigeria capacity to test is very limited and so there are many who are infected who have not been tested. Imagine how many people that they have infected.

Currently it's the political elite that are getting tested and too many are testing positive.

Imagine how many of thier staff and other aids they have infected who will never be tested. But will unknowingly infect thier families and friends.

One Chinese woman started the outbreak in Korea, she has been singularly held responsible for the infection of 1200 in the mega church she went too in Seoul. That's how it started.

Because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not running rampant in the populace.

Ventilator for Convid-19 cost as high as $50,000 but affordable to all serious governments out there.
You have branded high end manufactured in the West for about $25k upwards depending on spec.

Or you can get basic units for $10K across the West.

But if you want to be cost effective and you can get a 7 year parts and labour guarantee. Then you can get a Chinese units from $5k on average.

I am not in medical procurement but l know this.

This has gone from sheer ineptitude to criminal wilful intended premeditated negligence. People have died and more are going to die, it's murder.

Now that our scavenging vultures that we call political leaders. Are locked into Nigeria and nowhere to run for expensive medical treatment at government expense for themselves and thier families.

Where will they go, l speak not from knowledge. Nonetheless, Gwagwalada Hospital is in the news as a treatment centre. I presumed it will have good quality infrastructure and the up to date bio technology and equipment. Not state of the art, this is Nigeria I am not delusional.

I looked at the budget expenditure for the Medical facilities at Aso Rock, not substantiated. Now if these figures are true. See below.

2015 - N3.94billion
2016 - N3.87billion
2017 - N3.20bn (N331.m Capital Exp)
2018 - N1.03billion
TOTAL - N12.04Billion

How is it possible that this clinic doesn't have a respiratory ventilatorhuh huh huh

These ventilators depending on spec and branding can be procured from Chinese manufacturers for $15k per unit wholesale.

I would expect there to be in Abuja at least 1000 respiratory ventilators across both public and private sector medical facilities attached to thier ICU at least.

Back to our flagship medical facility at Gwagwalada Hospital. Below excerpt from a report made by Sahara three years ago.

But UATH is not your average Nigerian hospital. UATH is the gold standard of disguised incapacity. It is a hospital that has the distinction of being farthest from the merit of the name.

You wouldn’t want an emergency to introduce you to the fraud that is ‘the hospital’. Because the experience could cost you your own life. UATH has the one of the highest mortality rates in the country.

The intensive care unit (ICU) of UATH has a 50% mortality rate. That is to say, one in every two persons who enters the ICU is carried out dead. Or to put the statistic another way, one’s fate depends on the tossing of the coin.

Patient death is so common in the UATH environment that incidences of recovery are largely celebrated as happy accidents. The facility produces such preponderance of deaths that it might well be officially mandated to feed as many of its patients as it possibly can to the morgue!

This is shocking to me, could this really be true huh huh huh , l find it very very hard to believe and or comprehend.

Please indulge me because for now there is no football to discuss. Furthermore, we need to be alive to watch it.

So this is what our leaders have spent billions on a facility that increases your mortality rate
exponentially almost 100%.

To add insult to an open sore, we have just commandered one of the few ventilators in the hospital to Aso Rock. While the masses die.

I am bewildered by the depth of callous wilful negligence of our leaders it's pure wickedness and evil.

This is the same man who had been to several countries abroad. Yet did not deem it fit to submit himself for testing.

I Was thinking of you just yesterday, and wondering how UK lockdown was treating you

Stay Safe sha.

The theory of natural selection will come into play, who will die will surely die, and those that will survive will survive.

The politicians are some of the most vulnerable to the virus. So, all their poor decisions will eventually blow back on them.

As usual, there is no action anybody wants to make that will stop the virus and will not negatively affect the nation. People that the virus won't kill, hunger will kill them in the name of lockdown. Nigeria is a country that depends highly on imported goods, from fuel to diesel, food and equipment, this is a consumer nation.

So, the biggest issue is not even Corona being in Nigeria, it is the lack of self preservation in the country that will deal with the country. A nation that is the poverty capital of the world, Corona virus in Nigeria is not even the problem. Even if it never came in, by the time the economic impact of US, UK, and China closing down, hit this country, the virus will look like child's play.

Nigeria doesn't even have foreign reserves, no savings, everything wasted, so that Abba Kyari can travel to Germany and import the virus, and Buhari can receive treatment for headache in the UK

Corona virus is not our main problem. 166 people have died from lassa fever this year alone, no alarm was raised. Why? Most of the people shouting about Corona virus did not hear of them, that one doesn't affect them.

I sha hope everyone has stocked up for the next two weeks. God help the poor and less privileged among us

Welcome back, and we hope we are all here at the end of this virus.
9ice 2 be back thanks.

Natural selection or the selection of the generational wicked looters and depraved wicked old politicians.

Corona is particularly unforgiven to those in thier 70's that's essentially the group have been sucking this country dry since independence if not them thier children.

Breaking news for me Kyari the de facto president of Nigeria has tested positive for Corona. Buhari is negative for now.

Now they will be forced to go to the ill equipped near redundant hospitals by comparison that have been left to rot in ineptitude for decades.

We have lock down let's see where they will fly too.

Buhari will have to be tested in the coming days he is certainly not in the clear.
