andrewbaba44:If 99% of the players we consider our top players are in Europe what will he doing sitting down in Nigeria, of course he can have an apartment in Nigeria but he will in reality spend more time in Europe. Its Shameless Hypocrisy , do you know how many times in the year sometimes in one month Amaju comes to London We are Nigerians you probably will not be shocked. All this posturing is political and not about moving our football forward IMO |
do4luv14:Go across the world even China and when organisation engage international players and or coaches they pay in an international currency, this not unique to Nigeria. Consider when Nike sponsors the national team do they then convert the $ to naira then pay us. Please wake up and stop dreaming. |
Odunayaw:Agreed 100% you completely get the point. Comprehensive unacceptable falure imagine the "Desert Warriors" getting complacent and loosing 92 soldiers largest singular loos of sldiers in thier history. My view they lacked the mind set of other nations operating in that area, who would have run away. But going back to my proposition that underpins my write up, FAILURE is the beginning of SUCCESS The response from the Chadeans was to address thier failure and respond with RESOUNDING COMPREHENSIVE SUCCCESS/ VICTORY. They even had the President Idris leading the deadly unforgiving response The arms they captured just mind bogling, news reports have they even freed NA combatants. Now the question is what will be the NA response , the Chadeans have raised the standard, can we now enter Sambisa and clear that plaace once and for all. What do you think ? |
rka2:I dont know your background and or life experiences. You use the term very hurriedly "gloat" in a conclusive derisory way to imply that i take some sort of twisted delight in the misfortunes of the NA. My diction is intrinsically clear, how can you deduce from all i have said the word gloat? You do not even attempt to answer or adress the constructive questions i have raised. Yet in the same vein you claim to seek " Constructive Crticism" There is a saying in Nigeria, " Dress as you want to be addressed" Now go back to 2013 then make a comparison between the equipment and men the Chadean armed forces presented for this mission. If i remember correctly we came for this offensive mission with one Otocar cobra LAV. As a consequence we were treated accordingly. Going back to my Nigerian inspired adage, let me speak freely, " If u come party, dress like house boy, dem go direct you to go serve drink " There was no international conspiracy , rather muted dissapointment, we came shamelessly equipped for guard duty and were promptly sent for that. To disgrace ourselves further soldiers were beging locals for food that they were starving. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/nov/05/nigerian-army-mali-mission-delayed https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/120000-exclusive-hardship-hits-nigerian-troops-in-mali-as-officers-solicit-food-from-locals.html How many decades ago was Ecomog may I ask you ? Shockingly the larger chunk of that equpment is what we are still using today. There are two assesments of the Nigerian army in ECOMOG a political one and a military one, the political one oustanding , with regards to the military one its a matter of who you ask. Nonethless, i felt the NA had done well. You need to be more objective, have a more holiistic consideration when you look at matter and possibly increase your knowledge base. |
rka2:In an attrition war such as we have in the SE. Air assets will not get you over riding advantage, ask the USA with regards to Iraq and Afghanistan. The first casualty of war is the TRUTH. What's your agenda❓ I am not sure what your point is. But we have had the Governor of Borno state, the Senators essentially the peoples representatives stand up in the national assembly. And they have given a very dire picture of what's happening on the ground in the SE. Are they not being truthful If we are to believe the NA and it's version Boko are technically defeated and near non existent. Not too long ago citizens were butchered like chickens by Boko when the gates to the city were locked and they were denied access. The reports of Villages being over run over by Boko are never ending. Irrespective of the size of Sambisa how long have Boko made it thier home, yet they remain without being uprooted. It seems you wish to deny the hard facts and truth in your misplaced definition of patriotism. I have watched contributors here almost labelled Boko sympathisers and or unpatriotic for telling the truth or given an opinion that doesn't paint the NA in bright colours. Your approach seemingly belittles the achievements of the Chadians forces but why ❓ This Chadian army has done in a week what we haven't done, in l don't know how long. You have conveniently forgotten when the Chadian army at our request came into Nigeria a few years ago and once again uprooted Boko in weeks and had to halt thier advance at our request. To give things a more balanced and comprehensive view, l brought in the external examination of our forces by outside partners in comparison to the Chadians. When they were invited to Mali. The Chadians gave been given by the world never ending accolades for thier battle prowess. But you forgot all that and made parochial deduction not looking at matters holistically. You are trying to justify the unjustifiable. And in that quest destroy the possibility of solutions to the problem. What you are essentially is there is no problem here, it's very normal and acceptable. I didn't expose the degeneration of our situation by making comparison between Chads President Idris and our own PMB. That would further show the depths to which we have fallen. I asked questions for solutions, l reiterate is the Chadians army better equipped than the NA ❓ What's the difference between the NA and the Chadian army ❓ To encourage healthy discourse. But you gave gone down a path of misguided indignation and wounded pride. That Sir, will.not solve the problem. |
Toju200:It's not a daredevil stunt. If done properly it's a measured concise approach to neutralise the enemy. It's what real soldiers do, attack the enemy. They don't hide, bunker down and expend ammunition shooting non existent targets with reckless abandon with near zero impact. Thinking they will run away. Then we will claim we have repelled the enemy, a word that's used too often in our engagements. |
The admittance of FAILURE is the beginning OF SUCCESS. As you are able to address your shortcomings, gaps, inadequacies and strive for Success. The denial of failure when you have failed is continued FAILURE. It will result in the enthronment of mediocrity as competence. Does anybody here think that the Chadians are better equipped than the NA ❓ I noticed that the Chadians soldiers don't even have body armour, but are unflinching in the face of the battle. What's the difference between the NA and the Chadian army ❓❓ It's difficult to make self- assessment yourself because you will be most likely be hopelessly biased. When Nigerian soldiers went to Mali during the French led operation Serval. They were left to do guard duty the reports about our soldiers and thier lack of capacity were not flattering. The external examination of our military over the past years by informed would be partners and the outside world has not been good on all fronts. On the other hand the reports about the Chadians soldiers has been almost legendary they were in the thick of the fight. Reports about Chadian soldiers as the desert warriors of Africa have continued almost unabated. They have earned respect and world wide acclaim. We seem to rely on past glories of decades ago with regards to the NA. We talk about Ecomog in Liberia and Sierra Leone. In management one persons competence and outstanding ability exposes the ineptitude and incompetence of another. Idriss Déby has by his competence exposed our ineptitude and incompetence, very sad but a bitter truth. Will we NOW wake up accept our failing and stop sweeping our incompetence under the carpet address them and pursue progression to address this rot. How then do we move forward to victory having accepted our failings. ❓❓❓ |
somehow:Sorry getting funding doesn't make you government owned. All football association registered with FIFA must be independent of government control. The NFF is under the discipline and control of FIFA not the sports ministry. |
somehow:The pertinent question is Why❓ Tell me just one Nigerian coaches who has the same proven tested experiential competence acquired from the top leagues of Europe❓❓ We are talking about objective merit and not sentimental preference. As a consequence foreign coaches will have a clear objective based advantage based on qualification. That doesn't mean to say a Nigerian coaches cannot do the job. But they lack the qualification and experiential competence and as a consequence they loose out. Why can't Nigerian coaches after playing in Europe get thier badges and get experience. Look at Kole Toure assistant to Brendan Rogers. He is getting good experience and showing himself competent. So l don't think they are given undue and unjustified preference as you claim. But have q clear proven competency based advantage. This is the kind of thinking that has stifled out progress as a nation. Because l am from a particular state, LG, tribe l become entitled not by the competence of merit. But nepotism and favoritism based on sentiment. That's the enthronment of mediocrity. Finally, you do not nurture players for the national team you select players based on merit. |
somehow:The NFF is not a government department. I am sure you should know it's an independent private corporate entity registered with FIFA. So your analogy is really lacking merit. |
tbaba1234:Agreed without reservation or question |
somehow:The BITTER TRUTH. |
somehow:Thats a delusional proposition that's without any iota of substance. Can you expatiate as well as substantiate. This is not the youth team where the term "nurture" is tenable not in the senior national team. You are selected by merit not by nurturing. Where do the best players from Nigeria play and where are you going to select from. We have a two tier system where there is African cup based on home based players. Those players are by merit selected if proven to show quality. However, most just couldn't rise up to the standard. It's not the job of the national team coach to nurture players it's his job to SELECT by merit. |
elyte89:My bet is on Ammunike because Yobo will not compromise he is not hungry AT ALL. On the other hand the powers that be to mitigate against the overbearing influence of Amaju may push for Yobo. |
Danielnino00:I could take you up on that proposition. The system is rigged with systemic deep rooted corruption and and sharp practices. To be a politician in Nigeria you have to literally sell your soul to the devil. The second MAJOR PROBLEM is that the electorate currently do not think that integrity, truth, righteousness and honesty are attributes that are essential for political office. That's why a confirmed and convicted corrupt former governor who pleaded guilty in UK court is welcomed back to Delta state like someone who has been given a knight hood by the Queen or more. I am Talking about Ibori. The reality is if he could contest for governor of Delta state, he would probably win. That shows the perversity of our politics and the electorate. We have a very long way too go. As it stands it's considerably easier for me to contest to become an MP in the UK parliament than it is for me to contest state house of assembly in my own state. |
somehow:Unreasonable conditions that lack any sense of rationality and understanding of national football team progression. It is not the duty of the national team coach to nurture players. It is his duty to select the best players at his disposal and get the best winning team he can. It's what players do in thier respective league and clubs with consistent, top class and outstanding performances. That's what gets you selected. If our league is below par and filled with old men claiming to be young boys as many have claimed here. It's not the national team coaches job to fix it. From what l have gathered the local youth academies seem to be more promising than the league. According to many here once again. Now we come back to the core purpose of the national team, " To win tournaments and games" The best Nigerian players do not play in Nigeria but Europe that's just reality. So why should he spend most of his time in Nigeria. Amaju who is talking how many times a year does he come to London. This is subterfuge and snacks of hidden agendas and behind it all is the issue of £££€€€$$$. |
forgiveness:Integrity, righteousness, truth, honesty, honour and consideration for others. Is not the preserve of the young. I have watched NDA cadets acting like animals who escaped from the zoo, l have seen deluded deranged youths turn to cannibalism on the name of money rituals, I have seen youths with zero conscience, I have seen youthful political leaders who have assassinated thier way to senior political positions. Do not forget that the first bloody murderous civil war was caused by youthful leaders under 32 years old. The governor of Kogi state describes himself as a youth. Is he an example anybody with an iota of conscience can emulate. Onanefe Ibori became governor of Delta state at under 40. The youth politicians within the two main political parties are predominantly murderous thugs with hands stained red with blood. Most of them have willingly sold thier souls to the devil in satanic ritual in thier quest for power. There is hardly a tertiary institutions in Nigeria without multiple murderous cult organisations. I understand thier are even cults in secondary schools. These cult members reaking murderous havoc across the nation are not old men. These cults have infiltrated deep into the fabric of life in Nigeria. They have even gone international and they are not old men. The attributes of upstanding character have nothing to do with age but everything to do with personality and righteous conviction. |
forgiveness:Sometimes you think we know that our politicians are thieves and have no conscience and cannot go any LOWER than they already have. But at this time when millions of lives are on the line , can people still want to CONTINUE STEALING Are these people devoid of any sense of decency. ![]() Citizens may be gullible and often misled but FOOLISH & STUPID they are not. We have the defacto President KYARI and the figure head PMB both MIA we are now rudderless, so corruption now thrives without restraint in BROAD DAY LIGHT Lost for words. |
Whyem15:ISWAP biggest enemy is the USA. If the USA are not partnering with us the question is Why ❓ If there is a lack of sincerity and corruption the USA will definitely know. If the Federal government is not serious and motivated to win this war then the USA will also know. Why did the USA build a drone base in Niger and not Nigeria ![]() |
andrewbaba44:If you are in Christ yes but if not❓ That doesn't mean you will not operate in Wisdom and caution but not FEAR. |
barackodam:For Warri we say "Dem no deh take shyness chop poison" When l was wearing mask and all round sunglasses to cover my eyes, looking like a Ninja. People were looking at me like I was a paranoid delusional and insane. Did l care, even now many people in the UK will not wear mask. How stupendously foolish is it to walk into a underground train in London, with very little free flowing air and then be jam packed into a train carriage like sardines. Nobody wearing masks and socail distancing murdered. Of course people will get infected in multiples, my estimation is that at least a million people are infected in London testing or no testing. We are in temperate climate place where the virus thrives. Yet a number of people " No deh hear word" Eéeeeeee be like say people no de fear death or the trust thier science and technology too much. And clearly no fear, appreciation and or reverence for God. It's Sunday so I can quote Jeremiah 9: 23 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, - - - - |
jieta:It simply means you do not know me. |
jieta:It simply means you do not know me. |
Joebie:Agreed without reservation Prayer in truth and in spirit above all. But wisdom in what you do. |
MainJoe:You cannot fight what you cannot see. You are right that without testing and mitigating actions to limit and or treat infected persons. Then your ability to halt the virus is limited. However, considering we don't have the capacity to do mass comprehensive testing. We probably never will. Then PREVENTION is your best option and in this regard here lies our best strategy apart from prayer. In addition boosting your immunity with what you eat and do. Then using combination drugs for those who are affected and showing symptoms. |
yoged:Interesting however, l wonder where them run go. |
chrisooblog:I am in God's hands, prayer first. but doing all l can do to stay safe. Started self isolation in early February and now we have lock down. I go out of my house once in 7-10 days to Tesco, Asda, to buy groceries. Everything else l do is online l even work remotely. I don't visit anybody it's all virtual if Eee too much video call. I was in London in early February and what l saw was VERY SCARY, the misplaced bravado and attitudinal behaviour, was reckless. Nobody wearing masks jam packed like sardines. I knew then that thousands will die first before people will become responsible then it will be too late. London could get much worse than Madrid. I am almost scared to watch the news, l have not watched it today. But l will not be suprised if a thousand people were lost in the last 24 hrs. London could easily loose 30,000 Nigeria has not lost up to 5 people and we have taken serious action to prevent matters from escalating. Individuals and government. |
Humility017:Have serious doubts about Innoson. They don't create a subsidiary industry of supportive auto component manufacturers. Because all they do is assemble. INNOSON is a car assembly plant, they don't have an R & D input into thier poor copy engineering Chinese cars. These cars I doubt beyond tyres have up to 10% Nigerian local manufactured content. INNOSON is simply an opportunist that will go to China and assemble ventilators here at best. With huge questions on quality as the motive is Profit. Chinese are shameless in thier copy engineering and cannot sell thier cars anywhere but China and now Africa. With clever if not deceitful rebranding (packaging) to make it look like they are Nigerian made. They are a conduit to flood the Nigerian market with all things Chinese but branded Nigerian.

MainJoe:The much publicised broadcast. Was not live but prerecorded at a destination unknown and left too much to be desired. And created more questions than ANSWERS. |
Humility017:Agreed without one iota of reservation and or question ❓ A person outstanding competence exposes another's incompetence and ineptitude. Every day government leaders do live press update conferences. They take charge they give leadership they even cry. However, our own, are missing in action at the height of a national crisis. |
debossng:Wrong move by the government. Ivory Coast is not an area with high infection rates, it's not Italy. No testing, no rational, just speculative negative assumption. Then you put them in isolation and call them patients, what sickness "government Corona paranoia" |
forgiveness:It's strange. "Na we go church pass but we no wan go Heaven" Why ❓ |
