A lot has been broken in less than one month and I am so certain it’s world dominance, currency and democracy is coming to an end…..
It’s already sliding into dictatorship. The Oligarchs have hijacked the government. Even Trump himself does not have a say again. He just playing along after escaping prison.

OLAADEGBU: The United States has reportedly sold 1,000 “immigration gold cards” — special visas offering residency for $5 million each — generating $5 billion in just one week. According to official Howard Lutnick, the money will go toward reducing the $36.2 trillion national debt. A platform is also being developed to speed up background checks for 37 million potential buyers.
The U.S. Federal Government's plan under Trump to sell up to 10 million "gold cards" to help reduce the national deficit running into over 30 Trillion USD CANNOT be achieved even in 10 years (because a LOT of high-networth folks from around the world and more had already taken advantage of the EB-5 program over the years even with the move of the entry cost from 500,000 USD to 1 Million USD before now). So, there's NOT gonna be a global mass motivation to get these so-called "gold cards."
OLAADEGBU: Speaking from the Oval Office, President Trump outlined the benefits of the proposed "gold card," emphasizing its potential to draw successful individuals who would contribute significantly to the U.S. economy. ------- Trump Announces $5Million 'Gold Card' For Wealthy Immigrants As Route To U.S. Citizenship
February 26, 2025 NEWS
United States President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday a new immigration initiative aimed at attracting affluent foreign investors: a "gold card" visa available for $5 million, providing permanent U.S. residency and a pathway to citizenship.
Reuters reports that the program is set to replace the existing EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, which has been in place since 1990.
Speaking from the Oval Office, President Trump outlined the benefits of the proposed "gold card," emphasizing its potential to draw successful individuals who would contribute significantly to the U.S. economy.
"Wealthy people will be coming into our country by buying this card," he stated. "They'll be spending a lot of money, paying a lot of taxes, and employing a lot of people."
The administration plans to implement this program within the next two weeks.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, present during the announcement, criticized the current EB-5 program, describing it as "full of nonsense, make-believe, and fraud."
He noted that the "gold card" would raise the investment threshold and streamline the process, aiming to eliminate existing inefficiencies.
"The president said, rather than having this sort of ridiculous EB-5 program, we're going to end the EB-5 program. We're going to replace it with the Trump gold card," Lutnick explained.
The EB-5 program was established to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital, requiring a minimum investment of $1 million, or $800,000 in targeted employment areas, and the creation of at least 10 full-time jobs for U.S. workers.
In contrast, the new "gold card" program sets a flat $5 million investment without specifying job creation requirements.
When questioned about the eligibility of individuals such as Russian oligarchs, President Trump acknowledged the possibility, stating, "Yeah, possibly. Hey ... ."
Investor visa programs are not unique to the United States; over 100 countries, including the United Kingdom, Spain, and Canada, offer similar "golden visas" to attract foreign investment.
The administration believes that by increasing the investment requirement, the "gold card" will attract high-caliber investors and reduce potential fraud associated with the previous program.
While Congress traditionally determines qualifications for citizenship, President Trump asserted that the "gold card" would not require congressional approval.
He also suggested that the federal government could sell up to 10 million "gold cards" to help reduce the national deficit, stating, "It could be great, maybe it will be fantastic."
Critics argue that this initiative prioritizes wealth over merit and may not address underlying issues within the immigration system.
Additionally, concerns have been raised about the potential security risks and ethical implications of offering citizenship for a monetary price.

Lamentation: Lotenna Chisom Umeadi, a 35-year-old Nigerian man, who was extradited from Germany to the United States of America, has pled guilty on to two counts of wire fraud.
United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Erin Keegan, Special Agent in Charge of the Buffalo Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, March 20.
Umeadi admitted soliciting and purchasing a webpage from a computer hacker that allowed him to illegally gain access to people’s email passwords.
Umeadi used those passwords to gain access to email accounts belonging to employees of a produce exporter in Sri Lanka.
The accused then sent fraudulent emails, which appeared to legitimately come from the produce exporter but were in fact from an email account set up and controlled by Umeadi, directing payment on the Sri Lankan company’s accounts receivable be made to bank accounts in the United Kingdom, controlled by Umeadi.
As a result of the fraudulent emails from Umeadi, on two occasions in 2016, a produce importer in Plattsburgh, New York, wired money, totalling $158,400, to those bank accounts in the United Kingdom.
Umeadi was arrested on the charges on September 1, 2024, by authorities in Germany when he arrived there from Nigeria.
Umeadi was then extradited from Germany to the United States.
At sentencing, scheduled for July 21, 2025, Umeadi faces a maximum term of 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of up to 3 years.
A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
The defendant will face removal from the United States after service of his imprisonment term.

adenigga: No fewer than 13,171 Nigerians who applied for refugee protection from January 2013 to December 2024 were turned down by Canadian government, Sunday PUNCH reports.
This includes 811 Nigerians rejected in 2024.
Official data from the Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada placed Nigeria among the top five countries with the most rejected claims. It ranked 5th.
Others are Mexico with 2,954 rejections, India (1,688), Haiti (982) and Colombia (723).
The IMRB grants refugee protection in Canada if the RPD satisfactorily confirms that an applicant or claimant meets the United Nations definition of a Convention refugee, “which has been incorporated into Canadian law, or that the applicant is a person in need of protection.”
The 1951 UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees defines refugees as persons who have a substantiated fear of persecution because of their race, nationality, religion, political ideology or membership in a particular social group.
Such social groups can include sexual orientation, gender identity, being a woman and persons living with HIV/AIDS.
However, persons asking for protection in Canada must show evidence portending danger of torture, risk to their life or risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment should they return to their country of nationality.
Typically, such protection claims are made when immigrants notify the Border Services Agency at any port of entry upon arriving in Canada or report to an immigration officer.
“The officer decides whether the claim is eligible to be referred to the IRB.
“If the claim is eligible, it is sent (“referred”) to the RPD to start the claim for refugee protection process,” an application guideline by the Refugee Board reads.
Within the timeframe reviewed, 94 claims from Nigerian passport holders were abandoned. The RPD says a claim may be abandoned if “the completed Basis of Claim Form was not provided on time, the claimant’s current and correct contact information was not provided, or the claimant did not attend their refugee protection claim hearing or the special hearing on the abandonment of the claim (if required).”
Seventy-eight claims were withdrawn, representing cases where “the claimant does not continue with their claim,” the RPD said, while 19,889 claims were still pending.
The breakdown of the rejections since 2013 showed that 127, 241 and 248 Nigerians were denied protection in 2013, 2014 and 2015, respectively, under the new system for determining refugee protection claims made in Canada—which took effect on December 15, 2012.
476, 917 and 1,777 claims were rejected in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively.
2019 saw the highest number of rejected claims, with 3,951 Nigerian applicants turned down. Meanwhile, 1,770, 1,686, 728, 439 and 811 persons were denied protection in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Nevertheless, 10,580 Nigerians were granted refugee status within the decade under review, with at least 2,230 from January to December 2024.
Official data placed Nigeria among the top 10 countries with the most claims accepted. It ranked 8th on the list.
Others are Turkiye with 4,866, Mexico with 4,363, Colombia with 3,340, Iran with 3,200, Pakistan with 2,556, Haiti with 2,211, Afghanistan with 1,921 and Kenya with 1,653 claims accepted.
They include less than 20 in 2013, 308, 394 and 389 in 2014 and 2015, respectively. 389, 764, 755 and 1,733 Nigerian protection seekers were accepted in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, 1,534, 2,302, and 1,315 persons were granted protection, respectively.
Imaobong Ladipo-Sanusi is the Executive Director of the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation.
She told our correspondent that irregular migration motivated by economic hardship is often the leading cause of rejections.
However, she said those who genuinely need protection should be accepted whether or not they migrate outside the regulatory norms of their receiving country.
“Most times, many Nigerians miss it when they don’t understand the laws governing refugee status as adopted in their chosen destination. Every country has its regulations for absorbing people into its system.
“For one, documentation is crucial because coming irregularly will get you rejected from their system. But ultimately, everybody’s rights must be protected. Migration must be safe, orderly and regular. Even if their status is irregular, those who really need protection should be protected,” Ladipo-Sanusi told Sunday PUNCH.
Meanwhile, a development economist, Aliyu Ilias, argued that the exit of more Nigerians and their permanent settlement in Canada means less skilled labour for the country.
According to Ilias, the country is running at a loss, given the subsidised education some professionals receive from Nigerians and deploy their skills elsewhere.
“It’s definitely a cause of concern because our professionals are moving, and it takes a whole lot to train these professionals. In the medical sector, Nigeria subsidises a lot to get people trained.
“You cannot get trained as a medical doctor or an engineer abroad for a cheaper cost compared to what we get in Nigeria. So, it is a total brain drain in the long run and for the economy, it is reducing our GDP.
“The appalling part is that most of our Nigerian brothers and sisters who go out do not return. They get permanent residency, and they become valuable to the immediate country,” he explained.
Citing reports revealing that Nigerians in the Diaspora remitted an average of $20bn annually from 2019 to 2021, Ilias said, “Perhaps, the only hope is that these Nigerians send back some of their incomes home.”
However, the Convener of the civil society group, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, said the country could not thrive long-term on tokenism.
He argued that the monies received as remittances were no match for the economic contributions the fleeing Nigerians would have made if they remained in the country.
“So, can we develop our economy with tokenism? How can professionals migrating from a country be a good thing?” Adeyanju queried.
He added, “The health sector is struggling. When your best brains leave your country and go to build other economies all around the world, how can that be good for any nation?
“Innovators, scientists, doctors, surgeons, even lawyers are leaving the country. Look at how our doctors and university lecturers are being treated. Why should any professional stay behind? This has become what we call the Japa syndrome.” Source: https://punchng.com/Canada-denies-13,000-Nigerians-asylum
The "Japa" phenomenon ISN'T new here.
Referencing the comment made by Deji Adeyanju in the last paragraph of the Sunday PUNCH article right above, those innovators, scientists, doctors, surgeons, university lecturers and even lawyers he is referring to have in reality been leaving Nigeria since the early 1980s, but it gained momentum when Ibrahim Babangida introduced the Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) from the late 1980s which destroyed the economy and made it to quickly go south. Many professional businesses, medical, and education expatriates from Ghana, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jamaica, the United States, United Kingdom, etc, who came in large numbers to live and work in Nigeria during the oil boom years of the early 1970s to the early 1980, began to leave Nigeria as well from 1985 when Ibrahim Babangida took over.
Those of us who are older saw right on national TV in the early 1980s (1984) the hugely popular "Andrew Checking Out of Nigeria" National Orientation advert with Tony Enebeli playing the role of "Andrew" who spoke with an American accent at the Lagos International Airport, where a call was made to Nigerians to stay behind and NOT leave ["Checking Out"] for greener pastures in Europe and North America.
On the other hand, the article states that...
"2019 saw the highest number of rejected claims, with 3,951 Nigerian applicants turned down. Meanwhile, 1,770, 1,686, 728, 439 and 811 persons were denied protection in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, respectively.

TimeManager: The Bishop of the Diocese of Sokoto, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, has said that the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State, has solved about 60% of Southern Kaduna problems.
He stated this on Friday during the inauguration of the Governing Council and Principal Officers of the University by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa.
Kukah, who is the chairman of the governing council of the institution, stated that the realisation of the university was a result of God’s intervention.
“Nigeria may have its own problems, and will continue to have its own problems, but I can assure you, Honourable Minister, that 60% of the problems of Southern Kaduna now have been solved.
“We will not look back, because if God wanted us to look back, he would have given us at least one eye at the back of our head. We have, and we know absolutely no bitterness. We are, despite everything else, still one of the most educated parts of the whole of Northern Nigeria.
“Today, Southern Kaduna has no less than over 200 professors. The education that we have had, that has brought us so far, that people like me benefited from, the education that came from the missionaries. But I want to assure you that by locating this University of Applied Sciences, you have presented tools to us. And I want to assure you that we will do everything that is humanly possible. Don’t be disappointed, Mr. President,” he said.
While inaugurating the Council and Principal Officers, Minister Alausa said the university’s creation was part of broader educational reforms, which include a focus on technical and vocational training, STEM education, reducing the number of out-of-school children, and promoting girl-child education.
He stated that the university aims to offer high-tech courses in Applied Sciences and has plans to establish a College of Medicine. Alausa highlighted that the establishment of the university was a deliberate effort to stimulate development in Southern Kaduna and promote fairness and equality across the country.
We at the Ministry of Education will give you all the maximum support. We’ll walk down the clock to ensure that this starts. And I’ll tell you, let me read the processes that are taking place so far. We’ve written to JAMB to ensure that the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, is part of the portal when students begin to apply. NOK has been directed to ensure that every single thing that needs to be done is done.
“The resource verification is underway. When we spoke to the Executive Secretary of NUC just a few days ago, we discussed how we need to quickly ensure that this resource verification is completed. The visitation to the university will happen on April 7th. Once that happens, we will have completed our processes at the Federal Ministry of Education,” Alausa stated.
He further emphasised that the university would offer courses in Applied Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Sciences, and Medical Sciences.
In his remarks, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, assured that adequate security would be provided for the university and expressed confidence that the institution would become a center of excellence, fostering unity among all Nigerians in the region.
“It will bring a lot of goodwill to the people. I want to assure Mr. President that we are fully committed to providing security to Nigeria and to assure Nigerians that we should not be afraid of anything. God is on our side.
That's historically impressive. The many decades-long request for a new state (Gurara State) would be the ultimate icing on the cake for Southern Kaduna folks when it materializes so as to put an end to all the dichotomies, killings and inefficiencies seen especially during the last Kaduna Governorship of Nasir El-Rufai.
chopnaira: Rivers: No responsible govt. ‘Il allow crisis to worsen before acting – NNPP backs Tinubu
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has expressed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers.
According to the party, no responsible government will allow a situation to deteriorate before taking decisive action in the best interest of its citizens.
NNPP National Chairman, Dr Agbo Major, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.
Major emphasised that the decision was likely made based on the information available to the Federal Government. “President Tinubu is the Chief Security Officer of Nigeria. The information available to him as president from intelligent sources may not be in the public purview.
“The government in Rivers was suspended and no one can actually say what would have happened by now, judging from the deepening crisis.
“The crisis was further compounded by some leaders who, instead of offering advice or promoting peace during the turmoil, allowed it to escalate before later stepping in to criticize,” he said.
Major said the security situation in Rivers was unacceptable, posing a threat to the lives and property of the majority of residents. President Tinubu is a leader, and true leadership requires making tough decisions rather than avoiding them in moments of urgent importance.
“It was a difficult decision to remove the oil subsidy; one that no previous administration was willing to make, whether right or wrong.
madridguy: Supposing president Tinubu didn't take the right steps, the haters and their evil media will be saying Tinubu intentionally set Rivers state on fire so the oil companies can relocate to the Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
Raf4: Esuru in Yoruba language, wild potato in English language.
You guys have to CLEARLY harmonize this definition. A lot of folks are trying to learn new things from this thread and near-accuracy is important here.
I just quoted a female poster right above this post (who corrected a another poster on Page 1 of this thread) and said it's NOT called "Water yam" BUT "Chinese yam" or "Bitter yam," while you are affirming that it's Wild potato in English or Esuru in Yoruba.
According to the taste, I think it'll go better with anything more traditional. Like fresh palm oil with ground dry pepper, or that palm oil mixture made with potash, mixed with oil bean (ugba), utazi leaves, etc.
@Mariangeles
Aha! I can see that your taste buds lean more towards the very traditional culinary ecosystem. You probably have a point there with your culinary recommendations. As an adventurous person myself (who likes to move in uncharted waters while traveling globally for leisure or tasting new cuisines within multicultural setups), I'll keep that in mind.
NewDigitalWorld: Northerners have been in Lagos for centuries. Hausas, Fulanis, and other Northern ethnic nationalities have helped develop Lagos for hundreds of years. The biggest public or private sector investor in Lagos, Nigeria, is not the Federal Government, the Lagos State Government, or any International Oil Company.
Aliko Dangote, of mixed Hausa and Fulani origin, is the largest investor in Lagos State bar none, with an investment in excess of $23 billion, or 9% of the entire GDP of Lagos.
Yet, never in the history of Nigeria's creation have Northerners, collectively or individually, claimed that they built Lagos or developed it into what it is today.
They have also, whether collectively or singularly, insulted Lagos State and their hosts, the Lukumi Yoruba people, of being smelly.
Yet, in this record of the ethnic breakdown of the population of Lagos as of 1891 from the colonial office in London, we see that they have been in Lagos before almost every other set of Nigerians except Lukumi Yorubas.
For those interested in this document, it is still available via the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London. It is sourced from John Payne's book, Table of Principal Events in Yoruba History, published by A. M. Thomas in 1893.
If we all learn good neighbourliness qualities from our Northern brothers and sisters, Lagos and Nigeria will be even more peaceful, prosperous, and progressive.
Indeed, while what Reno posted on X is largely correct, Aliko Dangote's lineage is of mixed Agalawa (Tuareg) maternal lineage and Hausa ancestral origins.
Second, as can be CLEARLY seen from the official 1891 attached by Reno which I've also read several years back, the Eko or Lagos Island (NOT Lagos State) population census figures, the Fulanis have NOT been on Eko (Lagos Island) for centuries.
With the exception of some Tapas (Nupes) and Hausas who were already on Lagos Island as of 1891, Fulanis only arrived after the 1914 amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria for administrative purposes by the British colonialists led by Frederick Lugard just like the Ibos and other ethnic groups who also arrived newly in trickles after 1914. Period.
I've surprisingly NEVER tasted this in all my years on Earth, but it would probably go well with fried eggs mixed with sausages (or tinned sardines) and curry-thyme flavor to mitigate the slightly bitter taste.
DaddyJapan: Then you have no idea what constitutes sexual harassment!
"The above definition can be found in section 46 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act (popularly known as the VAPP Act). Note that it is operational only in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and many states across Nigeria have enacted similar state laws (including, Plateau, Benue, Cross-Rivers, Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Edo and Lagos)."
You did well for pointing that out to him. Some people are just ignorant of these specific, and unknown to them, the ignorant of the law is NOT an excuse.
There is indeed sexual harassment just like you have verbal harassment in law.
InfoGuru118: The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has announced the release of withheld local government allocations, assuring that necessary steps will be taken to ensure the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, ThisDay Nigeria reports.
Speaking during a meeting with Heads of Local Government Administrators in Port Harcourt, Ibas described the gathering as a pivotal moment in the collective effort to restore stability and progress in the state.
The Sole Administrator lamented the economic hardship in the Niger Delta, noting that despite the region’s wealth of natural resources, its people continue to suffer.
“This is unacceptable,” he stated, emphasizing the need for transformation and accountability.
The administrator expressed concern over the delay in salary payments across local government areas, acknowledging the struggles of affected workers.
“I feel the pain of the workers,” he said, assuring them that the withheld allocations had been released and that his administration would ensure that salaries are paid without delay.
However, he warned that financial accountability would be strictly enforced.
Ibas, a retired vice admiral and former Chief of Naval Staff, directed all local government areas to submit their wage bills, supported by relevant documentation, through the office of the Head of Service.
He said his administration will not tolerate financial recklessness, vowing to scrutinize the handling of public funds and take action against any mismanagement.
Ibas said good governance is not just a slogan, but a commitment to changing the negative narrative within the next six months.
He further stressed the importance of collaboration with traditional rulers and security agencies to enhance security at the grassroots level.
“You must take the lead in ensuring security within your domains,” he urged local government administrators.
Responding, the President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and Administrator of Port Harcourt Local Government Area, Clifford Paul, acknowledged the developmental strides made in the state despite political conflicts.
He commended the Federal Government for appointing the Sole Administrator, attributing the decision to his competence and leadership ability.
He pledged to support peace and stability while urging the administrator to prioritise workers’ welfare.
He explained that local government workers are currently owed two months’ salaries, but are hopeful now that the withheld allocations have been released.
All the BEST to the new Administrator of Rivers State (Ibok-Ete Ibas) for the next 6 months and BEST of luck to the genuine Rivers State folks.
To the two stubborn sides of the political divide in Rivers State, I hope they've learned their lessons and would resolve the issues at hand while throwing their stupid egos that help no one away. Period.

Na the bolded make, all Zairois support Ali in the rumble in the jungle fight. Ali kill am Ali Bomaye Ali Bomaye Ali Bomaye
RIP Champion
Indeed, the bolded section of your post took place during the 1968 Olympic Games when Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave the Black Power salutes on the medal podium. If you check my NL picture profile, you will see that I used that iconic 20th-century image of the Black Power salutes as my DP in tribute to both men of African-American descent.
However, the 1974 Zairean crowd who came to watch the "Rumble in the Jungle" boxing fight while chanting "Ali Bomaye" (Ali kill him) simply loved Muhammed Ali more because of his boxing and verbal skills and charisma. His popular mantra, "I will fly around YOU like a butterfly and sting YOU like a bee" resonated with a lot of folks.
ikuku: Boxing heavyweight great George Foreman, who fought Muhammad Ali in the ‘Rumble in the Jungle,’ dead at 76
George Foreman, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist whose legendary rivalry with Muhammad Ali culminated in the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ title bout, died Friday according to a verified social media account dedicated to Foreman. He was 76.
The Instgram post reads: “Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose.
“A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two time heavyweight champion of the world, He was deeply respected — a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name— for his family.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers, and kindly ask for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.”
Known as one of the most powerful punchers in boxing history, Foreman won Olympic gold in only his 25th amateur fight devastated one of the all-time greats in Joe Frazier and went on to retain the heavyweight title twice before his now-iconic 1974 fight with Ali in Kinshasha, Zaire - now known as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Foreman’s victory over Soviet fighter Jonas Čepulis at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico sparked the beginning of his professional career, but his celebration was also significant.
He took a small American flag and waved it to every corner of the stadium – a memorable moment, given that just ten days earlier his US teammates Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave the Black Power salute on the podium.
It was an action for which Foreman has no regrets, despite backlash when he returned to the US.
He told The Undefeated: “When I walked into the Olympic Village, I saw a couple of athletes who looked like me. I went to speak to them, but they couldn’t speak English. For the first time, I realized that the only thing that could identify us was our nation’s colors.
“I waved the flag so they knew I was American. Everyone started applauding, so I waved it higher. That is the only reason I had that flag. If I had to do it all over again, I would have had two flags in my pocket.”
He continued: “I proudly walked down Lyons Avenue in the Fifth Ward [in Houston] wearing my medal. A guy I thought was a friend walked up, looked me in the face and said, ‘How could you do what you did when the brothers [Smith and Carlos] were doing their thing?’ It … broke … my … heart. I didn’t expect that.”
Foreman turned professional, and won his first 37 bouts before taking on world heavyweight champion Joe Frazier in Kingston, Jamaica, in January 1973.
Despite being the clear underdog, Foreman knocked Frazier down six times in two rounds to claim the WBA and WBC heavyweight belts, and become heavyweight champion.
The legendary George Foreman has finally come to the end of his Earthly cycle of existence in this incarnation at 76... Moving on with power to a higher state of vibration bro.

Kyase: Well, Attributing weakness with "good heart", is not it at all.
Tinubu should just brutally deal with everybody, directly or indirectly but......
He's busy fighting another man's battle when he has his image to protect.
All these things said by people will continue and won't stop until people start disappearing and locking them in jail.
Indeed, his Presidencial Chief-of-Staff, 'Femi Gbajabiamila must be informed about the dangers of the bad Presidential image created by these strand of negative people and he MUST impress it in President Tinubu, the VP Kashim Shetima, and the Office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu to take urgent action. The DSS and other Intel agencies have to get involved in nipping this relentless deliberate disinformation criminal defamations by troll farms on Internet and social media platforms (such as FB, YouTube, NL, X, WhatsApp, online and offline radio phone-in programs) in the bud.
I used to not like this stuff because of its unusual taste, until the day hungry wayad me, and so I had to eat it with fresh palm oil. No be person tell me say make I enjoy am.😀
Af0nja2: Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi central, has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio repeatedly threw suggestive and lewd comments her way.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended from the senate on March 6 for “gross misconduct and unruly behaviour” over her seating arrangement altercation with the senate president.
Her suspension came a day after she submitted a sexual harassment petition against Akpabio on the floor of the senate.
In an interview with the BBC, Akpoti-Uduaghan restated that the “gross misconduct” premise for her suspension was a smokescreen to silence her.
She said Akpabio frequently made sexual advances towards her in and out of the senate chamber — and sometimes before other senators.
She alleged that Akpabio would “squeeze my hands in a very suggestive way”.
“There was a time I forgot to wear my ring because I rushed to work. And there were about five senators there. And Akpabio said ‘oh Natasha, you are not wearing your ring… is this an invitation to treat?” she said.
“There was another time he made a statement like ‘Natasha, your husband is really enjoying. It looks like you’d be able to make good movements with your waist’.
“He makes such sexist statements. And then they (other senators) all laughed.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan broke down in tears when the interviewer asked what impact her victim shaming and intimidation claims have had on her.
“People don’t understand what it means to carry this. Maybe we don’t talk about it enough in Nigeria or Africa,” the senator said in between sobs.
“I just want a place where I would just work. I thought the worst was over, but I guess for a woman, it’s never really over, right?”
She, however, added that the positive for her is that some female parliamentarians from across Africa have been ringing her up to encourage her and to say they face similar sexually charged, male dominated environments in their respective parliaments.
SENATE REACTION Responding to the interview, Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, the senate’s deputy chief whip, told the BBC that Akpabio never made passes at Akpoti-Uduaghan.
He also said the senate president never made any inappropriate comments towards the female lawmaker whether in his country home or the senate chamber.
Nwaebonyi also rejected Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claim that the senate is trying to silence her.
“Senator Natasha’s legislative activities show this claim is not true,” he said.
On March 5, Akpabio had denied sexually harassing Akpoti-Uduaghan.
“At no time did I ever attempt any sexual harassment on the said distinguished senator Akpoti-Uduaghan or any other woman for that matter,” Akpabio said in the senate chamber.
The responsibility is on this young lady in her early 40s called Natasha to bring her hard-core evidence out in form of secret audio, videos, and written recordings since she CLEARLY stated that the so-called sexual harassment went on for a year.
She being a lawyer hasn't done all that, yet she has moved from Sky News, to the BBC, and the German DW TV to expose herself WITHOUT providing one shred of evidence. I can assure you that the day she brings up iron-clad evidence is the day that Akpabio would go down finally.
She told the same LIE of sexual harassment against Reno Omokri who brought out massive FACTS of an international flight ticket from British Airways posted on his X account which proved that he was right in the United States of America on the day that Natasha Akpoti accused him of sexual harassment. It was proof that NO sexual harassment took place. Natasha who was then single immediately deleted her sexual harassment tweet on the X platform when she saw the STRONG rebuttal from Reno.
I dare say here and now that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has a CLEAR case of bipolar disorder that requires mental evaluation, OR she has been hexed! This case of some people talking randomly and making accusatory comments isn't new at all worldwide. It's a sign of an underlying medical issue affecting the brain's neural pathways or wiring.
Natasha has to undergo professional psychiatric evaluation because CLEARLY studying the videos of her past wild emotional rants on the floor of the Senate towards Sen. Akpabio and her subsequent refusal to stand up like other senators did when when the Senate President came in thereby violating official Senate rules, it's clear that she is going through a lot of psychological damage and mental breakdowns from some past negative experiences going by the past experiences that Reno Omokri had with her as well.
Kyase: The president is dull, weak and docile for my liking not the bulldozer I thought he will be, these Certifcate issue is making me hate him for some reasons
Look at what Atiku is doing to him, shaming him like a nobody under his nose, some small children on the internet soiling his reputation without consequences.
Obi will be talking rubbish on him on arisetv and the station is still onair? Arisetv, gazette etc bullying the commander in chief and Mr president is there doing nothing.
This is not the man we thought we voted, and campaigned for walahi, don't make me hate you mr president, start locking people up and throw the keys away like Buhari did, if not no one will respect your office as the commander in chief
@Kyase,
Tbh, I totally agree with you about the so-called good nature of Bola Tinubu. It's very annoying because a lot of the defamatory things being relentlessly said about him are FALSE. NOBODY respects anyone who allows random and known people to insult him or her like that. We know the sources where this vile disinformation is coming from. The BBC Global Disinformation Team ALSO CLEARLY stated and exposed in a 2022 documentary how a criminal secessionist gang with members spread in some European cities and around the world are using paid troll farms to stir up ethnic discontent and massive disinformation through the spread of FAKE news to destabilize Nigeria and defame others using FB, X, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
'Seyi Tinubu too is largely responsible for part of the Tinubu family image problem in my opinion. As a young person of 39 going to 40 who is a U.K-educated lawyer and the oldest surviving male child of Tinubu, I expected him long ago to have put up a team assist his father and family to identify the insidious online and offline sources of these malicious propaganda and have all of them brought to justice.
In the United States, just this week, a French researcher was simply DENIED entry into the United States and sent back from the airport to his country when past negative criticisms of Trump were found on his phone at the point of entry.
Tinubu has a good heart and must listen to the needs of all Nigerians BUT must NOT tolerate the hate speech from secessionist troll farms, random people and vile politicians such as Nasir and his young son who repeatedly refers to him as "Pablo Escobar or a drug baron" when it has been well known to those of us who are older since 1993 that the United States Federal courts exonerated Tinubu of any wrongdoings in the drug case and till date, the central database of ALL crimes committed by criminals in the United States does NOT contain President Bola Tinubu's name. If he is a drug baron, the United States would have long arrested him and jailed him.
Even before Bola Tinubu became President, he regularly traveled to the United States every year and he has NO issues with the United States authorities so the ball is in his court, but Tinubu and his image makers are at fault over the relentless disinformation being spewed by irresponsible propagandists online and offline. I myself have a great disdane for people who appear very docile or weak in dealing severely with those who defame them. I wonder who is Tinubu trying to please by being nice to people in this internet age when social media has become the fastest tool for damaging people's image?
Why the North are feeling alienated from President Bola Tinubu’s Government…
“ I think he has lost his diplomacy, reach and politics of inclusivity with so many people of the North west and the North east. -Adamu Garba APC Member @AIT_Online@adamugarbapic.twitter.com/UQoh3ccv5m
(Adamu Garba) made some points which the other big hunchos in his political party have to listen to though. Perception is stronger than reality.
However, people such as Nasir El-Rufai are vile humans based off of their past insidious behaviors of empowering their foreign Fulani herder cousins from Guinea, Mali, Cameroon, Niger Republic, etc, to kill indigenous Nigerians in several communities across Nigeria especially in Southern Kaduna and the Benue State regions.
The SWAPO liberation movement of Namibia of which she was a strong supporter was a very prominent one back in the day among the liberation movements in Southern Africa. I remember how they fought hard against colonial repression with the iconic Sam Nujoma leading them to eventual victory.
VP Shettima Welcomes Visa Inc's Pledge To Site Data Centre In Nigeria
Visa Inc. @Visa, an American multinational payment card services corporation, has updated Vice President Kashim Shettima on plans to site data centre infrastructure in Nigeria.
This is in addition to its investments of over $1 billion in the country, including a substantial technological partnership with MoniePoint to foster digital payment solutions, a $200 million investment in Interswitch, and a partnership with @thriveagric to empower smallholder farmers and enhance food security in Nigeria.
Visa's Regional President for Central, & Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEMEA), Mr. Andrew Torre, disclosed this when he led a delegation of the company on a courtesy visit to Vice President Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Mr Torre said while Visa Inc. "has been making investments and will continue to make these investments in Nigeria", the plan to site the data centre infrastructure is aimed at bringing new technologies into the Nigerian market that would bolster the nation's growing digital economy.
According to him, partners like Hugo, and Samsung require some of Visa's technologies to launch mobile payment services for a more competitive and cost-effective market.
Responding, Vice President Shettima @officialSKSM assured the US-based corporation team that the patronage and partnership between Visa and the Nigerian government will continue to grow by leaps and bounds.
VP Shettima also applauded Visa for investing in ThriveAgriculture, noting that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT is quite passionate about repositioning the agriculture sector, which is one of the primes in the administration's 8-point agenda.
He said, "Nigeria is where the action is. Of the ten fintechs in Africa, about eight are in Nigeria, with Moniepoint as the newest addition. Agriculture is key to the 8-point agenda of the present administration. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is really keen on repositioning the agriculture industry here, and we have to invest in technology, we have to invest in modernisation.
"If we must improve on agriculture, we must embrace modernity, improve agricultural prices, seeds, fertilization, and intermediate technology. ThriveAgriculture is a company that has a focus on food security, providing up-to-date data to our farmers. And be rest assured that the patronage, the partnership between the government of Nigeria and Visa will only grow by leaps and bounds."
The Nigerian Vice President urged Visa Inc. to also invest in the Outsource to Nigeria Initiative @otni_ng of the federal government to help facilitate access to finance for the creative sector to boost the nation's digital and creative economy.
Also on the Visa delegation were the Senior Vice President, Head of Western and Central Africa, Mr. Andrew Uaboi, and Vice President, Head of West Africa @VisaNigeria, Mr. Chidozie Arinze.
Stanley Nkwocha Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President) 21st March, 2025
The huge Nigerian Diaspora and Nigeria-based population of slightly over 230 million approximately CANNOT be ignored by any major investor who has eyes for good returns on investments provided there's a conducive business ecosystem in place.
ogugwa1992: Allow me to introduce the first Aso Oke beachwear ever in history. I designed this myself. The material is entirely made from Aso Oke woven locally in my country, Nigeria, in a rural community in Iseyin, Oyo State. This fabric is lightweight and perfect for the beach. It enables you to look chic without exposing too much of your body to the sun, and you do this without sweating because the breathable material allows free air to flow through your body.
Aso Oke, also known as Aso Ofi, is how my Lukumi people of Nigeria have dressed for centuries and traditionally meant for royals and the higher classes. However, I desire to remove that class distinction by funding the weaving of inexpensive Aso Oke fabrics.
I am not interested in making money from this venture. This is a labour of love for the Lukumi culture. I urge people worldwide to consider this organic, environmentally friendly, and ethnic alternative to beach fashion. Beyond beaches, you can wear this design and fabric as a casual outfit in the spring and summer to look as handsome and classy as a Lukumi Yoruba, the most fun-loving people on Earth.
You can order any Aso Oke fabric online and offline, hand it to your couturier, ask them to replicate my design, and instantly transform yourself into a handsome Yoruba Demon.
chopnaira: Tech entrepreneur, Tade Oyerinde, a Nigerian-born innovator, has secured $46million in Series B funding for his for-profit community college startup, Campus, aiming to reshape higher education accessibility in the United States.
The investment, led by General Catalyst and announced on March 20, brings Campus’ total funding to over $100 million.
The company aims to make higher education more accessible and affordable, offering online associate degrees and certifications in fields like business administration, medical assisting, and applied artificial intelligence.
“Campus has created a model that is rooted in the rigour and legacy of American higher education with the benefit of technology and innovation that students will require to thrive in an increasingly competitive global economy,” said Ken Chenault, chairman of General Catalyst, in a statement.
Founded in 2022, Campus offers live, online courses that lead to two-year associate degrees and certifications in fields such as business administration, technical support, cosmetology, and medical assisting.
Observer reports that the institution also provides an applied AI concentration, responding to a job market where AI-related opportunities have surged by more than 70% in the past five years.
With tuition at $7,200 per year — covered by full Pell Grant awards — Campus positions itself as a low-cost alternative to traditional colleges, where costs range from $11,000 to $43,000 annually.
The U.S. higher education system is under increasing financial strain, with student loan debt soaring to nearly $1.8 trillion.
Altman, who co-led a $29 million funding round for Campus in 2023, has previously warned that America’s higher education model is on the brink of collapse due to its unsustainable costs.
Campus isn’t just catering to students—it’s also providing new opportunities for professors.
The startup employs over 100 educators, many of whom also teach at prestigious institutions like Princeton, Stanford, and Howard University.
Graduates of Campus have gone on to four-year universities, including New York University, Penn State, and the University of California, San Diego.
The company also helps students enter the workforce immediately after completing their programs.
“It’s really simple,” said Oyerinde in a statement.
LegendHero: The evidence is that after Ijaw people did numerous video of the thread of blowing up pipeline, Fubara never release any statement or transmit to the president any message for help.
He was also caught on camera saying he will signal his boys to act when it is ready.
Mind you Tinubu and the military have security report that normal people don’t and the NSA know who is the threat.
@Legendhero
Do you have some of the videos to share with us here that you have seen? This will definitely shut the mouths of those who are irresponsibly opposing the State of Emergency in Rivers State after the blowing up of 2 major crude oil pipelines.
