Hi. I actually saw this post since last week. But now replying late, cos I had to meticulously digest the link you referred us to in your post that talked about several subgenres of rap.

That was a lovely piece of rap-educaion.

Yes indeed, there is a subjenre of rap called PARTY-RAP. And it probably started gaining it's grounds around the late 80's. And in the 80"s I feel the 2 biggest influences of Party-Rap were;

1. The Movie and Dance-Type called BREAKDANCE

2. The weekly show called SOUL TRAIN, after Kurtis Blow became the first Rapper to appear on it in the year 1980.

Let me help out with the latter part: they migrated to what is Delta North of today and met various groups of people there; Igalas, Yorubas (Olukumis), Edos, Urhobos, Isokos, Itsekiris and other Igbo migrants.

Why was this area so 'cosmopolitan'?
This was a trade zone which connected Present-day Delta to people of Kogi and Anambra mainly owing to the coastal nature of 'Delta', even prior to the slave trade era as European and jewish merchants who came through the sea traded commodities with the locals - cowries, hyde, woodwork, bronzeworks, crops, etc.

Different eras in the course of time, led to even more migration to this strategic area and many are now called indigenes. This is a reason why a significant number of these indigenes would tell you they are not Igbos, with many insisting they are of Edo origin while a set whose lineage maintained Igbo geneology would say they are Igbos. There are still the Olukumis, Igalas, Urhrobos, etc who cannot be eclipsed or denied their heritage and indigeneship. The natural realities and facts of intermarriages, hybridization of languages and cultures over centuries would produce cultures and languages which have elements of the various groups.

You better know your history and desist from lies and deception as these won't achieve anything, but discontentment, unsettled minds and heartache in perpetuity.

Singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, aka Ruger, has called out Nigerian men for fawning over IJGB babes who are in the country for Detty December.

It is no longer news that several people from abroad have come to Nigeria to spend the remaining part of the year and have a good time. This has led to an influx of people with foreign accents, especially in Lagos.

Singer Ruger took to his Snapchat page to share his thoughts about the men going after these IJGB babes because of their accents.

According to the music star, Nigerian men are losing their composure over these ladies' accents, not minding whether they are good-looking or not.

Ruger went on to tell his fellow Nigerian men that these IJGB babes were pretending to be top-tier babes in Nigeria when the men in their own country do not rate them. He added that Nigerian men should be wise and not waste their money trying to impress these ladies.

By the 1800s, bow and arrow technology was quite sophisticated–the sturdiest recurve bows of the time could send an arrow soaring distances of over 400 yards and could pierce armor at distances greater than a football field.

That, however, does little to explain how a central African arrow landed in the small northern German town of Klutz in 1822. For that, we must look to another master of the sky–the white stork.

The Story Of The Pfeilstorch

Pfeilstorch, a German term meaning “arrow stork,” was the name given to a white stork that alighted in the town of Klutz in the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the spring of 1822. It came bearing a most unusual scientific gift–an arrow threaded through its neck, fixed well enough to withstand the 3,000+ mile migratory journey but sparing the stork its life due to the fact that the arrow pierced only the stork’s skin.

It was a “gift” to science because, up until this point, debate swirled as to how birds survived the winter.

In 1797, Thomas Bewick, an English artist and natural history author, hinted at the correct answer in his book, A History of British Birds–stating that a ship’s captain, whose opinion he held in high esteem, witnessed between the islands of Menorca and Majorca “great numbers of swallows flying northward.”

This stood in contrast to the spurious but widely held belief that swallows hibernated during winter months. Bewick even conducted experiments with swallows, attempting to keep them warm and fed during winter months, but concluded that, “they leave us when this country can no longer furnish them with a supply of their proper and natural food.”

The hibernation theory wasn’t the only theory Bewick had to contend with. In 1703, a Harvard professor suggested that migrating birds flew to the moon and back. Others believed that birds hibernated underwater or, in certain cases, metamorphosed into other birds.

These debates were put to rest after the arrival of the Pfeilstorch in Germany. There was only one logical explanation for the African arrow: northerly migration.

The Pfeilstorch was the first in a series of migratory birds to arrive in Europe with arrows in their skin. Ernst Schüz, a German ornithologist active in the early 20th century, recorded several instances of birds carrying embedded arrows. Among them were a white-bellied stork found in Tanganyika, a short-toed eagle in Hungary, a honey buzzard in Finland, and a black kite. He also noted swans and eiders struck with Inuit arrows.

Later, Schüz observed that such sightings had become more rare due to the widespread shift from bows and arrows to firearms.

Yoruba youths are expressing their displeasure over the inauguration of a Sharia Court in Oyo State.

A circular announcing the inauguration went viral on social media and the youths made it clear that they don't want Sharia Court, which is quite common in Northern Nigeria, to be inaugurated in the South West region of Nigeria.

Muslim supporters disagreed with them and told them their fears are unfounded because sharia law does not apply to non-Muslims.

Ogané is not even a Nigerian word per se.

However (Oghene) which the Europeans attempted to render (as Ogané and Hougoouanee) is what the Binis (from whom the Europeans gather these data) call the Ooni of Ife till date in their historical-cultural setting.

I agree with you that the present monarchy of Benin is foreign from Ife. I know also that the equation of Ekaladerhan as Oduduwa has been debunked in academia as an interesting nonsense.

But I tell you of a truth that the coming of the Ife prince to Benin was not with a violent intention to conquer.

Although I have no reason to deny that some fightings may have taken place in the course of things, but the motive was not a military conquest.
