UncleAyo:The young lady did NOT complete what was written on the "sensationalized banner." ... He is a Prophet and messenger of God! In any event, it's a FACT that's been in the public domain for centuries even before the European colonization of Africa, Asia and the Americas that the foundations of Christianity is based on the worship of the Sun God where a mythical human being was metaphorically put in place of the Sun. This is why Christians still do their worship on Sundays which is the day devoted to the ancient Sun God. Indeed, the Sun God worship has survived till today. Even the days of the week are named after the European and ancient pagan Gods. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. The Europeans aren't stupid for doing so. The 25th of December of every year represents the annual RISE of the SUN (after 3 days of descent of the SUN in the horizon representing the Winter Solstice) leading right up to the Christmas of December 25 which is the allegorical or metaphorical RISING from the DEAD after 3 days of burial in the grave or tomb! "Christ" just simply means SAVIOR or the SUN which is seen as the SAVIOR. Other names similar to "Christ" are "Zeus or Iezeus or Iesus" from which the current English language name "Jesus" was derived which ALL mean SAVIOR because the SUN is the SAVIOR or LIGHT of the WORLD to the great ancient civilizations! Period. The Xtian scriptures are litered with many of these astrotheological SUN worship symbolisms, such as I'm the way, the truth, and the LIGHT. I am the LIGHT of the WORLD! Pure foundations of Sun God belief from the ancient world in Egypt, Roman Empire, Greek, Persia, etc. So, the FACT that the early Muslims ALSO came about the claim that "Jesus" (Iezeus or Iesus or Zeus) which name is derived from the pagan God "Zeus" is a "messenger of their own God" shows that Caliph Uthman (who is actually responsible for institutionalizing Islam and his writers after the founder of Islam had died) copied or plagiarized the religious or "liturgical" writings of the Jews, Xtian groups, and the Gnostics, unknown to him and others, these works of the Jews, Xtian groups, etc, contained allegories that were NOT meant to be interpreted literally or were outright forgeries. Besides, for 5 years, the early Muslims fought a Civil War (or Fitna) because of disagreements over serious doctrinal differences and this is why the Sunni and the Shia divisions or sects in Islam exist till today blowing themselves up with bombs right inside their various mosques and shrines in Iraq, Iran, and other places where these groups exist. The Internet and books have liberalized information, so, these historical FACTS on the Sun Gods, astrotheology, and more can EASILY be found. For those of us who have advanced knowledge of "comparative religion" for decades now, the supposed birth of Jesus under a palm tree and NOT in a manger like the Xtians have in their books, was copied it plagiarized directly by the early Muslims (after the death of the founder of Islam) from the works of the Gnostics which are secret mystical groups and you can find some of their works via Google search to prove this. The early Muslims writings in early or classical Arabic done on bones and skin parchments had NO dots or DIACRITICAL marks on them. It's just like French or Yoruba languages WITHOUT DIACRITICAL markers which would cause you to be confused when trying to interprete them. "Ami Ohun" is what the Yorubas ALSO call DIACRITICAL marks. It was during this time of Caliph Uthman's dynasty that diacritical marks were introduced to make the early Arabic scripts more meaningful, correct errors in writings and abrogations also took place, meaning some sayings in the Hadith were discarded and Caliph Uthman stated that any body who kept any other version of the Koran and the Hadith should be killed. Like I said, for 5 years, the early Muslims fought and killed one another over doctrinal differences leading to the schisms you have today in Islam consisting of the Sunni and Shiite doctrines. All the Orthodox religions derived from the Asia, the Middle East region, etc, have their roots in "astrotheology" which is based off of the worship of the sun, moon, stars, and the movement of the constellations. The story of the Jesus of the Bible is simply BASED on the allegorical movement of the stars on Zodiac signs around the Sun! The virgin birth corresponds to the Virgo sign and the 12 disciples, etc, are simply based on the 12 symbols of the Zodiac sign which ONLY the initiated readily knew. Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire, Greek Empire, Persian Empire, etc, all have foundations of their religions based on the worship of the Sun God. This is why in the ancient world, a mythical human was usually made to represent the Sun (Sun God or Son of God). Read up more on the Sun Gods. Also read up on the works of one of the greatest female writers and researchers on the ancient religions, Acharya S (D.M. Murdock) who breaks this concept down in her videos still on YouTube and her books such as "The Suns of God," "The Christ Conspiracy," "Christ in Egypt" based on clear explanations of who Horus of Egypt is and more which ALL CLEARLY show that a physical human being called Jesus (An English language derived spelling from Iesus or IeZeus or Zeus meaning SAVIOR) NEVER existed! The SUN was CLEARLY venerated or worshipped by the ancient people in the past great empires of the world as Mithra and others because the SUN was seen as the giver of LIGHT and ALSO enhanced the growth of CROPS while ALSO moderating the seasons. It's NOT a surprise that the movement of the Sun in the constellations is the basis of what you call Christianity which evolved from the Catholic religion of Rome which itself was institutionalized by Emperor Constantine of the Roman Empire, who is a famous worshipper of the SUN GOD (Sol Invictus) and the Crux Ansata with a circle of the SUN 🌞 in the AROUND of the Crux Ansata represents SUN worship and this symbol can still be found on ancient churches till today because this religions that now make up Xtianity evolved from the worship of the Sun. Period. Nothing wrong with that, but it's funny that Xtians try to run away from this fact but the game is up. The Xtian clergy should claim the SUN veneration with their full chest and stop the pussyfooting. Same with other orthodox religions... These clerics MUST learn to accept that their religions are based on what they copied from older or ancient religions and stop disturbing the PEACE of others with their fossilized teachings. Jesus and The Sun God (Zeitgeist excerpt) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmjQ1566ql0?si=PWn6TWiNWFa70BUg Spirit Rebooted • 13 Apr 2016 P.S. @ diamond68 This is the original post I told you earlier today that I made on this Lekki mosque banner thread topic when it appeared on the NL frontpage and then I saw your mention as well on that same day. The walls of ignorance MUST be torn down and real knowledge MUST gain ascendancy as we unfold in our states of consciousness. If you have any little input to add to this, KINDLY do so. I noted what you said in your other post today that "it's NOT the SUN that is being worshipped here in ancient times." Many thanks. |

Mccullum:@Mccullum, succinctly stated! It's VERY intelligent of you to have CORRECTED him there as well. I too just wrote a STRONG and relatively long reply to him right ABOVE on this thread page with clear historical FACTS correcting his MISLEADING information about the Yoruba population inside and outside Nigeria (which is over 60 million worldwide based off of projections and the Yorubas have been CLEARLY the SECOND largest ethnic group in population after the Hausa in Nigeria based on past population censuses and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) WORLD FACT Book). The Yorubas also have the SECOND largest Muslim population in Nigeria after the Hausas, then followed by the Kanuris in Nigeria. This is so because Islam arrived in Oyo Empire (Yorubaland) via Mali Empire clerics and long-distance traders over 500 years ago long before Uthman Dan Fodio was born in the late 1700s, then subsequently starting the so-called jihad in 1803 from what is now Niger Republic (where he was born) right into Hausaland in the current Nigeria. |
Bendeco02:The sections of your post ABOVE that I've BOLDED are completely FALSE and it shows you are NOT well informed about who the Yoruba folks or Yoruba ethnic group who number over 60 million people worldwide in multiple countries are. I have decades of advanced studies on the migrations and history of interethnic relationships of specific ethnic groups such as the Igalas, Yorubas, Edos, Hausas, Kanuris, Nupes, Igbos, Anioma towns and areas, etc, within Nigeria and ALSO on ethnic groups outside Nigeria. For your information, the Yorubas who are the SECOND largest ethnic group in Nigeria based on past population censuses, the CIA WORLD FACT Book and United Nations agencies estimates [after the Hausas who are ALSO indigenous to Niger Republic] are widely traveled internationally engaging in international trade along the West Coast of Africa with a population of 3 million alone living and doing business peacefully in Cote d'Ivoire for over 150 years NOW and over 250 years in Ghana. The Yoruba people have a very HUGE population in the North of Nigeria. To even start with, Yorubas are indigenous to 3 Northern Nigeria states of Kwara, Kogi, and parts of Niger States. They are indigenously relatively small in Niger State BUT with a large immigrant Yoruba non-indigene population in Minna and other towns while engaging in businesses, medical practice, academia and more. BUT in Kwara State where the Governor and Deputy-Governor are of Yoruba lineages, out of the 16 Local Governments in the entire Kwara State, 12 LGAs are indigenous to the Yorubas alone including the Kwara State capital, Ilorin where Yorubas constitute over 90 percent of the population and pure Yoruba language is spoken as the lingua franca, 2 LGAs are indigenous to the Nupes, 2 LGAs are indigenous to the Baribas (Farooq Kperogi is from this ethnic group which is otherwise called the Batonu people) who are also found in Northern Benin Republican while Yorubaland also extends to Benin Republic and Togo with Obas in those countries as well. Now, outside Kwara, Kogi, and Niger States where you have a huge presence of Yorubas, you have millions of Yorubas in Plateau State, Nassarawa, Kano, Jigawa, Borno, Yobe, Zamfara, Sokoto, Bauchi, Kaduna, Katsina (in Funtua, Katsina State, Yorubas are known in Hausa as Yarubawan Funtua meaning the Yorubas of Funtua who have engaged in trading activities for decades and have become integrated into the society), etc. and many have become fully Hausanized especially the Yorubas who are practicing Muslims and speak Hausa fluently. You will NOT know these FACTS unless they tell you or speak Yoruba with heavy Hausa accents to you! Yorubas have engaged in long-distance trading with the Mali Empire, Ashanti Empire, Benin Empire, and the Hausas city-states (via the Nupe country) from the mighty Oyo Empire for hundreds of years and Yorubas have lived in Hausaland and other parts of the Old Northern Region for at least 200 years. INFACT, it's on record that besides the 3 indigenous ethnic groups of Jos (Beroms, Anagutas, and Afizeres), the Yoruba ethnic group were the FIRST EVER to settle in Jos in the 1800s. This FACT came to light when the indigenes had communal crises over land claims with Hausa migrant descendants and the indigenes CLEARLY stated at the panel of enquiry through their political representatives and legal teams that the Yoruba ethnic group came to Jos BEFORE the Hausas migrated to Jos and yet Yorubas have NEVER dubiously claimed to be indigenes of Jos! So, I want you and other Igbos who may have been influenced by FAKE historical information circulating online (especially through those propaganda Ipob Websites) to further educate yourselves and realize that Yorubas are spread all over Nigeria including Port Harcourt where Yorubas use as a major base and alongside many other towns such as Asaba, Warri, etc, in the Niger Delta States. Even before the Nigerian Civil War, historical records show that many Yorubas and Edos lived and built houses in Abakaliki, Onitsha, etc, but the Civil War made them leave [after Col Ojukwu EXPELLED all the non-Eastern region ethnic groups and told Igbos to return] and after the Civil War ended exactly 2 years and 6 months later in January 1970, many were reluctant to return to the current South East to invest because of the fear of the unknown. However, some other Yorubas, Edo, Fulanis, and Hausas live in the South East now especially in the friendly Onitsha and Enugu areas for instance. The figure could have been more but some still reckon that Igboland can be politically VERY volatile sometimes and you can lose your investments or get kidnapped due to spontaneous insecurity situations. Some Igbos don't go back to the villages for holidays yet because of insecurity in some places such as Ihiala sand more until the kidnappings and robberies situations improve. So, this puts to rest your highly INCORRECT claim that Hausas and Igbos are the most populated ethnic groups in Nigeria. Yoruba descendants are indigenous to Delta State via the Olukumis of Ugbodu, Eko Efun or Ukwu Nzu, etc, in Aniocha North LGA, and the Itsekiri lineages many of who have direct Ilaje, Ijebu and Ife ancestries. Yorubas are in Edo State in USEN, Egbeta, Utese, etc, all with traditional rulers or Obas, Yorubas are indigenous to North Central Nigeria in Kwara, Kogi and parts of Niger States, and Western Nigerian States of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, etc. In Benin Republic the Yorubas have up to 30 Obas in Yoruba towns such as Ajase (Porto Novo), Ketou (Ketu), Bante, and many more. In Togo Republic, Obas exist there as well among the Ife people in the Atakpame Region. The Ewes of Togo and Ghana, and the Ga people who are the original indigenes of Greater Accra in Ghana ALSO have Ife and Yoruba ancestral lineages. So, the Yoruba folks and bloodlines are spread wide across West Africa and the world in the United States, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, France, etc. Open your eyes wider and read more archival historical materiald because that BOLDED part of your statement that you earlier made is a BIG historical fallacy! |

beerfraud:This is a vivid reminder of the massive insecurity (consisting of armed robberies, gang rapes during robberies and kidnappings, kidnappings for ransom, and outright assassinationd) in Anambra State back in the 1990s and 2000s which led to many Anambra State indigenes to NOT visit their villages for the end of year holidays. That is the period and reason why they started doing the new yam festival the national stadium in Lagos, and other states outside the South East. [/b] Because these greedy criminals who were Igbos from Anambra were kidnapping the village-based elderly and non-elderly relatives of Igbo people based in Lagos and other states who had to pay heavy ransoms in Anambra back then, there was also a noticeable upswing in the movement of Igbos (who were relocated by their relatives living in Lagos, PH, Abuja or elsewhere) from the South East to live in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, Asaba, etc, and they started leasing lands for building houses in Lagos and other areas due to the massive surge in the insecurities, kidnappings for ransom and even luxury bus robberies where several travellers from the East were shot to death in one instance around the Onitsha area while traveling to Lagos. I remember newspaper reports of up to 70 millionaires who had been kidnapped for ransom within one month and they cried out for police protection.[/b] The current Governor Alex Oti also gave a newspaper interview almost 10 years ago while campaigning under APGA where he said because of the massive kidnappings by identified indigenes of Abia and vicious armed robberies in Aba and the rest of Abia State in the 2000s to the 2010s, his friend had to close down his factory in Aba and relocated to Lagos for better security. This coincided with former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji-Fasola's tenure where there was heavy investments in equipping the elite Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for effective security. Soludo should reach out to Alex Oti and see what security ideas they can share with one another on the resurgent kidnappings in Anambra. The Bakassi Boys that was introduced decades back was subsequently abused and media reports indicated that people were locked up in underground dungeons or detention camps by them in Anambra State. One of the girlfriends of a wanted suspect was detained because the boyfriend escaped and she was subsequently sexually assaulted and got pregnant in that sale dungeon. The Anambra State government had to eventually disband the Bakassi Boys due to the abused they committed even though they seemed to have been effective as a stop-gap measure in Abia and Anambra. A more modern, technological method based on human intelligence gathering have to be implemented NOT just in Anambra or Abia, but all over Nigeria States to minimize or totally eradicate these heinous crimes. Period. |
aieromon:Bump. These pipeline vandalisms by illegal petroleum refiners and outright crude oil theft loaded on ocean-going vessels especially in the Niger Delta areas are ALSO the major reasons why the IOCs such as Shell declined to build a refinery in Nigeria when the OBJ government pressured them to do so. Some Nigerians are indeed the saboteurs of that country. They deserve capital punishments via lethal injections, electric chair executions or outright hanging. Period. |

SalamRushdie:Your post is HIGHLY INCORRECT here! It was the young students of Unilag (most of who were babies or were NOT even born in the 1990s) that took to the streets of Lagos while STRONGLY rejecting the renaming of that institution to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos calling University of Lagos a brand and then a section of the University of Lagos Alumni rejected the new name and called for any national monument to be named after MKO Abiola while siting the FACT that a higher institution called Moshood Abiola Polytechnic already existed so, as NOT to cause a clash in IDENTITY. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with APC party members in Lagos State although some alumni members were definitely politicians at the time in all the political parties. Besides, General Yakubu Gowon is a unifier and a national figure after the Nigerian Civil War ended in January 1970. Further more, the Abuja landmass was created and carved out of the current Plateau State (where General Yakubu Gowon comes from as an Angas), Niger State, Kogi State and Kaduna State. Gowon was ALSO the one who initiated the plan to move the administrative capital of Nigeria from Lagos Island (which had been the capital in an amalgamated Nigeria from 1914) to Abuja in the early 1970s. FINALLY in 1991, Ibrahim Babangida moved the capital from Lagos Island (NOT Lagos State) to Abuja. The National Stadium Abuja is now aptly name Moshood Abiola National Stadium BECAUSE MKO Abiola (who was the most popular business mogul in the 1980s and 1990s) was known as "the Pillar of Sports" due to the FACT that he donated millions to finance sports projects and build stadia in Nigeria. "Yakubu Gowon University of Abuja" sounds very impressive as a new brand name. |
Forkthiefnubu:You are MISLEADING gullible readers with your FAKE post here! It was the young students of Unilag (most of who were babies or NOT even born in the 1990s) that took to the streets of Lagos while STRONGLY rejecting the renaming of that institution to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos calling University of Lagos a brand and then a section of the University of Lagos Alumni that rejected the new name. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with APC members in Lagos State although some alumni members may have been politicians at the time. I was shocked hearing one of the students who is a Yoruba guy called Dapo who spoke with an impeccable British accent and lived in the UK telling one of the news reporters who interviewed him that "We don't know him" and that stunned me because MKO Abiola being the top business mogul in Nigeria as of the 1980s and 1990s, donated millions to Unilag for the series of building constructions on campus. The mogul had fought for democracy and lost his life in the process in 1997. Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja (just like Moshood Abiola University, Lagos) isn't a bad name as it's a Federal University or Federal property and can be renamed to any good brand name by the visitor as long as the quality of education remains. Lastly for the younger ones who don't know, General Yakubu Gowon's administration aside from unifying Nigeria after the Nigerian Civil War ended (after exactly 2 years and 6 months) in January 1970, and ensuring redevelopments during the oil boom), was the one that STARTED the plans to move the administrative capital of Nigeria from Lagos Island (Lagos State was NOT the administrative capital BUT Lagos Island) because Lagos Island (Eko Island) had no more room for expansion so, a new central location or FCT was planned from the early 1970s BUT Ibrahim Babangida FINALLY relocated from Lagos Island to Abuja in 1991. |
