He's a very charismatic guy at 58. I instantly got drawn to him when I first saw his photographs earlier today. With that Cuban cigar in between his lips and the tats on his arms, he looked like the Don but with steely confidence.
He's got a sense of style that is natural and I appreciate Farooq for sharing his fight with cancer in this VERY profound video. The MRI scan which his ex-wife who is a medical doctor and other specialists used to detect the stage-1 cancer is VERY important for all of us besides being on good diets.
FreeStuffsNG: Meet Farooq Oreagba, a cancer survivor who stole the show with his charisma at the 2024 Ojude Oba Day celebration.
The stylish and charismatic Oreagba, a former Member of the Derivatives Product Advisory Committee of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, made a grand entrance on horseback, showcasing his unique fashion sense.
His viral photos and videos at the Ojude Oba festival captured the attention of netizens across Nigeria with some praising his sense of style and “steeze”.
One of the highlights of the festival was pictures and videos of Oreagba at the 2024 Ojude Oba Day, wearing a beautiful tattoo on his arm while rocking a full aso-oke agbada regalia.
Born in July 1966 in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Oreagba started his educational journey in his hometown at Ijebu-Ode Grammar School before attending King’s College Lagos.
According to his profile on LinkedIn, he also acquired a degree at Edward Greenes College, Oxford in London.
He graduated from Oxford with distinction before returning to acquire a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Combined Engineering Studies from Coventry University (1985-1989).
He also stated that he acquired a BTec Diploma, in Business & Finance (1991 – 1993) from the University of East London.
Oreagba has also picked up numerous certifications from different educational institutions at home and abroad.
Over the last four decades, Oreagba has worked in the financial sector in Nigeria and abroad.
Oreagba is a former Member of the Derivatives Product Advisory Committee of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
He, however, stepped away from his role amid his fight with bone and skin cancer.
In April 2014, Oreagba was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and carcinoma, which, in simpler terms, can be translated to mean bone marrow and skin cancer, respectively.
He had a complete remission on February 3, 2015, and was declared cancer-free and healthy in 2017.
Oreagba is currently the managing director of NG Clearing Limited.
He was appointed MD/CEO of NG Clearing Limited in September 2023.
This appointment came nearly six years after Oreagba had to step away from the financial sector due to health issues.
Salute to the Ijebu Ode-born, United Kingdom-educated investment banker and cancer survivor. I appreciate Farooq for sharing his profound experience in that video as a cancer survivor.
He got swag. Very fashionable with a sense of style and legit alpha male confidence.
I watched the full engaging video before even commenting on this thread. Impressive takes!
Glimpsetv: Customs officers in the Bahamas, located in the Caribbean, were shocked to discover something very strange at the airport. Loads of live crabs were found roaming freely on the luggage claim belt and crawling around the surroundings.
Passengers, who were also surprised, couldn't help but laugh. Please watch the video:
The question is, how did the crabs get there? Feel free to share your opinions in the comment section.
Gmekx: Split Screen is sometimes called multiple window or double display. It allows you run two apps the same timein the same screen.
In other words, split screen divide the screen of your phone into two equal halves and run two apps simultaneously.
For example, you can be chatting on whatsapp and also watching YouTube videos on the same screen the same time.
This article will teach you how to enable this feature on your Android device.
Of course, it was a herculean task to achieve this on older Android versions but when Google released Android 6 Marshmallow, some smartphone brands like Samsung and Gionee started embedding the split screen features in some of their devices. (for instance,Gionee M6.)
More phone manufacturers embraced this feature when Android 7 was launched.
Since then, the number of split screen smartphones has increased though there are still phoneswithout this feature but there is a workaround to enable or activate it.
The Split screen function is also one ofthe most underrated functions on the nougat.
This function is so important, itis also present on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo, but in a much more improved version.
Activating a split screen on an Android device running on Android 7.0 and above is a piece of cake if you know how to go about it, but an uphill task if you are a novice in that field.
Here are some easy steps to activate and enjoy the function.
HOW TO ACTIVATE SPLIT SCREEN IN ANDROID 7+ DEVICES
Step 1: First you need to activate the"developer mode". This is not really compulsory, but it would help you force some apps that were not designed to work with the split screen function to work by force. To do this go to Settings > About this device > Build number. Once you are there, clickon Build number a few times until you get a notice saying you are now a developer. Step 2:Once in the developer mode, scroll down to the end of the page and enable the option that says “Force activities to be resizable”. Once you dothis, restart your device to activate the option. Once you have restarted your device, even those apps that aren’t usually compatible with the split screen option will be able to run in split-screen mode. Step 3:Click on the recent button and click and hold any open app, then drag it to the upper part of the screen. Once you do that, you would see the screen has been divided into two.
Personally, i don't usually use the split features on my phone except once in awhile. What about?
OLAADEGBU: Some Of My Siblings, MKO Abiola's Children Who Couldn't Afford Drugs Have Died In Last 30 Years – Abdulmumuni Abiola Laments
June 17, 2024 NEWS
Abdulmumuni Abiola, one of the sons of late Chief MKO Abiola, has berated his elder brother, Kola Abiola, over the alleged mismanagement of their late father's wealth and throwing the rest of the siblings into abject poverty.
Speaking in a podcast on Mic On with Seun Okinbaloye, Abdulmumuni lamented that Kola had mismanaged their late father's wealth and sidelined him and other members of the family to the extent that in the last 30 years, some of Abiola's children had died because they could not afford to buy medicine to treat and take care of themselves.
Asked if he blamed Kola for the manner in which things had gone and whether he believed the legacy of Abiola would have been properly sustained rather than it was now, Mumuni said, "I definitely do because he was in a better position, especially after the whole crisis.”
Speaking further, Abdulmumuni said, "First of all, if he listens to what my father said in the Will and does what he is supposed to do like every other one has done, there wouldn't be a problem.
"We have lost so much. There are so much properties my father has in this country that we can never get by because people sit on it and they are using it to take care of their own families. The issue is, who is losing?
"It is our money that they used to buy those things. Those properties now cannot be bought with the same amount, with the kind of money that would be spent today. I'm talking about the silo in Lafia Agil in Kwara State - 20,000 metric tonnes Silo with 10,000 hectares of land. How much would be paid for that land now?
"It is so sad that your father was rich to a certain level and you cannot continue from where he stopped. I would like him to explain to me why exactly he has gone with this direction. It is like going down the deadened road and you are seeing the signs but you are still going.
"This is 30 years down the line. It is not like I waited for a year after my father died and started making these accusations. Abiola's children who could not buy medicine to take care of themselves have died in this 30 years. This is sad and I'm sure my father will not be pleased about it. So, I am not pleased.”
He added, "I wake up in the morning and my phone is inundated with text messages of people who ask for help. How many people can I help? If I want to help somebody, I need to first help myself. It is important we do things the right way."
Asked if he has spoken with Kola about his grievances, Mumuni said he is talking about the properties in Nigeria only.
He said, "You must understand that I'm talking about their properties in Nigeria only. This is not where Abiola has his wealth. Abiola had those companies in Nigeria just to help Nigerian people.
"They were losing money and they were building money. But he did this (established companies in Nigeria) because he knew they needed something to do so that they don't pick up guns. He (Abiola) understood that.
"Abiola's wealth was from outside this country. He was an accountant and when he was the state director of ITT, there was money that owed the company, when he was able to retrieve the money from the military government then, he went back to his masters in England.
"They wanted to offer commission but he asked them to give him shares. So, my father has shares.
"I told brother Kola when I got back that I don't want to disturb him about the money outside Nigeria. That it is for him, he should do whatever he wants with it. But the ones in Nigeria, we will die there."
Abdulmumuni said he had taken over Concord Newspaper but "at the time we took it, he took me to Kabiyesi Akiolu's Palace to tell me why I should leave the place."

papyjaypaul: Okay I admit that I have a bias, which is why I wrote what I had there. I feel the guy is exaggerating, I may be wrong but my bias towards him is that I feel he has an agenda and entitled. See my response to the other post about him
Let's leave all these internet jesters and talk like adults. You and I know men and women like each other. People can write whatever they want to. Real life is different. Men have their power, women have their soft power too. Na so dem create us, e be like cat and mouse game. Just like marriages, it's the ones with problems that make people say men are this, women are that. The only constant thing In life is principles, and those who live by it have a distinct identity as a FAMILY.
I think Abdulmumuni Abiola was a bit sarcastic in that video excerpt. 48 failed the test out of 103 is just too HUGE! Nearly 50 percent cumulative paternity fraud from 40 women is huge.
No doubt, back in the early 2000s, I remember reading in the mainstream media publications that the MKO Abiola family had done DNA tests on the Abiola children and a few didn't make it.
Is Abdulmumuni Abiola serious about this reduction in figures or is he just being sarcastic?! I remember reading back in the early 2000s when Abdulmumuni was still a little boy that DNA tests had been conducted on children in the family and a few ended up NOT passing the test but this figure of 48 children out of 103 is quite suspect. Nearly 50 percent paternity fraud from 40 wives.
Morbeta11: Two mansions belonging to former Chelsea and Ghana midfielder Michael Essien are reportedly set for auction following a court order from the Accra High Court.
The sale was ordered by the Deputy Sheriff of the High Court (Commercial Division) on June 12, 2024, following a recent court ruling against the former midfielder.
The Daily Guide reports that the properties are located at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon, House Number 9 and House Number 204/205, Trassaco (Phase 2), Adjiringano, all in Accra.
The report also mentioned that one of the properties is valued between $20 million and $30 million.
Essien’s current financial troubles are due to large loans he took from different banks and financial institutions in Ghana, according to Africa Soccer.
During his playing days, 41-year-old Essien played for top clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Lyon.
If the two buildings in Accra are successfully auctioned off to enable the banks recover the money loaned to him including the interests, then whatever amount is left after the auctions can be used to jump-start his life again. This is how a Nigerian multimillionaire of Yoruba descent that I know was able to bounce back after he couldn't pay back his loans to the bank due to some unforeseen investment headwinds. The bank simply auctioned the big house he used as a collateral and to his surprise, the value of the property had appreciated beyond what it was before he got the loans. That was how he got the excess money after the sale of the big house and that money jump-started him to becoming a bigger and better multimillionaire again.
Due diligence is KEY before going into any business venture. Seek guidance always and don't try to show off by going into any fanciful investments YOU are NOT familiar with. I wish Michael Essien well after this brain reset he would have experienced.
guobe: A total of 20,000 pounds was spent in this venture and if you convert to naira we should be talking of about 40 million naira. The figures are really mind-blowing considering the fact that the Nigerian currency is getting worse by the day.
This is an uncomfortable alliance tbh. The Western countries had better seek to come to a middle ground with Putin before he forms a desperate alliance with all the bad guys on earth in the desperation to protect his ego.
A win-win situation is needed here in the wake of Saudi Arabia's ditching of the USD in the sale of crude oil starting from June 2024 for the first time since the 1970s.
LifestyleTonite: The 2024 Ojude Oba Festival took place on June 18 in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, drawing numerous notable and influential Ijebu natives dressed in vibrant attire.
Hosted annually by the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, Nigeria’s longest-serving monarch, the festival is known for its display of cultural heritage and fashion. This year’s event was no exception, featuring various groups of men and women in distinctive outfits, all vying for attention.
A standout feature of this year’s festival was the array of high-end eyeglasses worn by participants. Social media influencer Akintiollgate, who styles himself as the “Sunglasses Baron,” identified several luxurious brands among the attendees, including Louis Vuitton, Versace, Vintage Cartier, Miu Miu, Cartier Panthos, and Salvatore Ferragamo. According to Akintiollgate, some of these designer glasses cost as much as $1,800 (approximately N2.7 million), with the least expensive pair priced around $200 (N300,000 at the current exchange rate).
The lavish display of eyewear and fashion at the Ojude Oba Festival comes amid widespread economic hardship in Nigeria, prompting many to express disbelief and criticism on social media. The festival’s opulence, highlighted by the expensive accessories, sparked a conversation about the contrast between the celebration’s extravagance and the economic struggles faced by many Nigerians screaming “Ebin pawa.”
Despite the economic challenges, the Ojude Oba Festival remains a significant cultural event, showcasing the rich traditions and unity of the Ijebu people. The event’s blend of heritage and contemporary flair continues to attract attention and admiration both locally and internationally.
Arthur Unaegbe a Senior military officer of Igbo extraction stood against the coupists when others fled. He refused access to the armory and was killed because of that. But they will tell you no Igbo man was killed in the coup and that the coup was an Igbo affair... A coup that has actors like lt. Olofimihan, col ademoyega, col banjo, and many more from north, west, east and midwest
The reason why that first 1966 coup is widely called an "Ibo coup" in literature and media is that those who OPENED DIRECT GUNFIRE FIRE (and assassinated the post-independence 1960s politicians, their family members and associates and military officers of other Nigerian regions) were Ibo-speaking officers.Sir. Ahmadu Bello, Sir. Tafawa Balewa, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh a wealthy Itsekiri politician, Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, and many military officers from other regions such Brig. Samuel Ademulegun, Col. Ralph Shodeinde, Lt. Col. James Pam (Berom) as well as the three most senior Northern Officers in Nigerian Army at the time of their deaths in the January 1966 coup, Lieutenant Col. Abogo Largema from the Marghi area of Borno, Colonel Kur Muhammed and Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari from Yobe State (formerly in Old Borno Province) were killed by gunshots fired by well-known Ibo officers. To make matters worse, Aguiyi Ironsi from Umuahi then took over military power without moving fast enough to punish the coup plotters.
The only Ibo-speaking officer to die in the coup, Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe, was shot by Major Chris Anuforo because he was known to be close to Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari and had to be silenced to prevent him from raising an alarm.
Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu who is from Okpanam near Asaba in a statement while he was in detention accused the coup plotters of Ibo origin of tribalism because the ORIGINAL plan was to eliminate and take over governance in all regions of Nigeria, but another section of the coup plotters allowed the Premier of the Eastern Region (Micheal Opara) and others to escape. Meanwhile, Nnamdi Azikiwe was still on an extended stay abroad when he ought to arrived back in Nigeria over a month earlier because of the Commonwealth Conference that was supposed to take place on Lagos, hence the widely circulated belief that Zik was tipped off about the coup by his relative, Ifeajuna.
Hence it appeared to all that the coup was an Ibo coup favoring the largely Ibo officers who made up the list of the coup plotters.
This is one of the factors that unfortunately triggered the REVENGE coup plot by the largely Northern region officers with many from the Middle belt areas of Benue, Plateau, Adamawa. These are facts of Nigerian history of which I have a vast knowledge of. Period.
Bluntemperor: •Ogun State, especially Ijebu- Should have IKOKORE- ELEMI- Meje. But is missing here .
Ijebu-Ode have Eba,with Eran- igbe,bush-meat,on top.
•Oyo State should have Gbegiri- Ewedu- with-Bokoto,as meat on top.
• Lagos -State - with her Aquatic Splendors,From Epe / Badary- have Fufu/ Eba- with diverse Meats or Orisirisi,Tilapia, Catfish,Aso-Fish, from the Ocean/ Sea Waters. OP,you tried buy Updates your recipe, please.
Welldone,biko.
Succinctly stated. Well done.
Let's hope the OP updates or corrects the VERY WRONG food entries he made on Ekiti and Ondo States food delicacies.
The very tasty Yoruba-styled party Jollof rice, Moin Moin (or Olele) in leaves and more are regulars from the Yoruba folks.
hafeeanubasy: So..are we talking of origin here?...or what they are known for By the way, yorubas, ewe and fon are more or less siblings
That is what the partly misinformed OP is portraying here by ascribing food screenshots to the different states. Some are correct and some are VERY WRONG like those of Ekiti and Ondo States.
Gbegiri and Ewedu isn't in reality an original Ekiti State food but from the Oyo areas of Yorubaland but is nevertheless eaten by Yorubas and non-Yoruba folks worldwide wherever you have a large Yoruba Diaspora population. The Ekitis, Ondos, and Ijesa folks fancy their regular pounded yams and tasty Obe Egusi (or Egunsi) among other kinds of tasty regional soups with all kinds of meat.
Last but NOT least, yes, the indigenous Yorubas of Nigeria/Benin Republic/Togo/Ghana, the Ga of Ghana, Ewes of Togo and Ghana, Ogus and Fons of Benin Republic are closely related from the days of the powerful Oyo Empire centuries back with some similarities in cultures and religion. Aganyin is a name that is used to refer to migrant folks from Benin and Togo (indigenous Yorubas, Ewes, Ogus and Fons of these countries) living in Lagos and other majorly Yoruba states. Hence the name Ewa Aganyin. So, we can say that Lagos State is home of Ewa Aganyin since it was popularized from there by the West African immigrants from the nearby Togo and Benin Republic. But Lagos State also has it's unique cuisines derived from sea foods and more being a state that shares boundaries with the vast Atlantic Ocean and lagoons.
Ewa Aganyin isn't originally from Ondo State. It has it's roots from the folks of Togo, Benin Republic axis (who consist of indigenous Yoruba, Ewe, and Fon people)... Hence the name Aganyin. They popularized that style of cooking Ewa (beans in the Yoruba language) with fried stew in majorly Lagos and Ogun States before spreading to other Yoruba States right from many decades ago. The last time I checked online, non-Togolese or non-Beninoise Yoruba women in states as far as Kwara are also cooking Ewa Aganyin within and outside Lagos State.
spagettiluv: A thread: Ojude Oba Sunglasses edition! 🔥 🕶️: Salvatore Ferragamo SF131s 💰: $305
Nice shades. This looks very close to one of mine. The 2024 Ojude Oba... Setting the pace in fashion and style. The Ijebu folks never falter here when it comes to spending and celebrating big time because they've got the chedda.
First of all ur phone must be on Android 7.0 and above. If it is then open an app, then press and hold the recent apps button to select another app. Very simple.
There are some exceptions though, like Samsung phones from the past had this feature, also some other manufacturers included it on older software but doesn't support many apps. It became available to all Android phones from Android 7.0 and supports many apps.
The Ijebu man looks like the real don. With the Cuban cigar in between his lips and the tats on his arms, he's the iconic alpha male image of the 2024 Ojude Oba.
teejoyz: What of igbo irunmole. I think it belongs to igbo too. Do you know that ijebu ode and ijebu igbo is just word and opposite. Ijebu ode means ijebu outside (urban)while ijebu igbo means ijebu in a bush area (rural). U people just think anything that bears igbo is always referring to ibos.
