Video: Stop parading yourself as the son of the palace, Oba of Benin warns Labour Party candidate -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Zis-Lu2lqE?si=njeEwBHkMnT0MP0X

In a startling rebuke during a courtesy visit, the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, has categorically stated that Labour Party candidate Olumide Akpata is not a "child of the Palace," contrary to Akpata's own claims.

The incident occurred when Akpata, accompanied by former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, met with the revered Oba in his palace in Benin City. During the meeting, Akpata repeatedly referred to himself as a "son of the Palace" in both English and the local dialect.

However, the Oba swiftly dismissed these assertions, stating that he had asked one of his chiefs to verify Akpata's claims, only to find that the candidate had no direct or distant links to the Palace.

"You are an industrious son of the soil, but to say you are a child of the Palace...I am not aware that any of my children is contesting or is a politician. So I need to make that clarification for the sake of the public and the fourth estate of the realm," the Oba remarked.

The Oba's unequivocal disavowal of Akpata's self-proclaimed status as a "child of the Palace" appeared to visibly upset the Labour Party candidate. Akpata retorted that while he might not be a child of the Palace, he was undeniably a child of the kingdom.

A member of Akpata's entourage later expressed disappointment with the Oba's public rebuke, stating that the correction should have been made privately instead of in the presence of the press. However, the Labour Party member acknowledged that as the Oba, "he can't be wrong."

"We are not really happy with the manner in which our candidate was rebuked by the Oba for claiming to be the son of the palace. In my opinion, any Benin or Edo person is a son of the palace, as we all came from the same source. He should have rebuked him in private and not in the full glare of the press and our guest. But he is our Oba, and he can't be wrong”.

for now let's go into greetings in Benin

Apart from the customary family greetings in Benin we also have greetings that tell hour of the day, occasion, work activities etc for example :

Obowie ____ good morning, happy morning
( obo = happy , owie = morning ) but note that the general word for happy is oghogho but in this case , the obo comes in to represent the action been done at the said time. the original word for obo is "obee" meaning "having"( both e sounds air..) hence the last O ( ob"o) is added to indicate a proper usage for morning ( called owie in Benin ).

Obavan _____ good afternoon ( oba = happy ,
avan = noon ) the "a" in this oba is added to be able to sound well with noon ( which is called avan in Benin) because " ob" can't stand alone

Obota______good evening ( I think I dont have to explain this )

Okhiowie _____ good night or till morning ( okhie = till, owie = morning )

Obevbaru_____ well done

erhegue ____ you will not be killed by another ( this is a greeting done only by females of Benin after eating, actually the word originated from Erhe = another + ghi = will + gbue = kill you .)

Kada _____ i respect you ( this greeting is done only by males of benin after eating, the word was coined out of Ika= I first + da= respect etc +nuen= you)

obokhian _____ welcome

Iyare ______safe return

okhiewere ______ safe journey

the usual family greeting in Benin serve only the purpose of identifying the family you belong to.

I greet Lagite as my morning greeting because am a descendant of the enogie of ute in orhionmwon. Lagite was coin out of Ona ogiu te ( meaning this is of the enogie of ute )

okhiowie ivbi edo mwen n uwa
Deep insights.

we will be looking on how to combine those letters to form word in Benin

EG

A=ha ____ Is one letter that always stand alone when trying to write or pronounce a word eg A___men(water), A___wee( fasting) note in this case the " ee" sound eeh and not "A".

in Benin there are some letter that can't stand on their own in some case eg "g","b" "m", "w". It is not as if they can't stand on their own in certain case but when dealing with word like Egberanmwen( good health) ( E"gb"Eran"mw"en)
for example the letters must stick together to make proper word.

another is that in Benin there are some letter that don't easily start a word but are found in between other letters

Another thing is that in Benin letter we have O one sound "ho" the other sound "or" so funny when you see some people writing for example
Osakpolor instead of Osakpolo, Edobor instead of Edobo, Ordion instead of Odion because the last in Osakpolo and Edobo already has the "or" sound hence writing it as Osakpolor makes it English.

now words from each letter are as follows

A___ Agbon(world), Akon( teeth), Aye(life) etc

I____ Igbina( fight), Ikeke ( bicycle) both "e" sounding as eh.

U__ Uvbi ( lady), Udian( tse _ tse fly ), Uhun(head).

Horlhaphemi:
Aina Sarah Forbes Bonetta Davies, the Yoruba Princess Raised By Queen Victoria of England.

In about the year 1848, an Egbado town was raided by the Dahomey (modern day Benin Republic) Army, in the time of King Gezo. Among the captives was a girl of about 7 years old. Though very young and of royal blood, the little girl later revealed that her family lived in Oke-Adan part of Egbado area. King Gezo consequently gave the little girl away as a “present” to Queen Victoria through Commander Forbes, an English Naval Commander who was in Dahomey at the time. Eventually, Sarah was taken to England on a British navy warship called “HMS Bonetta.” She was baptized in the church and given the name of Sarah and last name Forbes Bonetta (Forbes from the name of Captain Forbes who rescued her and Bonetta from the warship she boarded to England).

Upon arriving at England in July of 1850, Sarah went to live with the Forbes family where she learned English very quickly and her gift of music was soon noticed as she was often found singing to herself. At 11 o’clock on Saturday 9th November, 1850, Sarah was invited to Windsor Castle where she met Queen Victoria. Sarah soon became a regular visitor to Windsor Castle .She also became close friends with Queen Victoria’s children, especially Princess Alice. Henceforth, Queen Victoria decided to take Sarah under her protection and to pay all her expenses. Sarah was in an exceptional position, with her connection to the Royal family she experienced what most people in England at the time could only dream about.

Queen Victoria was the most powerful emperor in the world, and it was very uncommon for anyone to visit her at her palace, however she enjoyed Sarah’s company whom she described as "brilliant and beautiful." During the winter of 1850, Sarah was repeatedly ill until the Queen became worried about her health and decided that she should be educated in Sierra Leone, West Africa, where she would probably cope better with the weather. Meanwhile, she had been distraught to learn of Commander Forbes' death from an illness while he was in Africa. Sarah arrived in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on 19th June 1851, 33 days after leaving England. Here, she enjoyed the privilege of being accorded as the Queen’s godchild. The Queen would always ship Sarah’s school and personal supplies to Freetown from England.

Queen Victoria would later declare a school holiday in England after Sarah’s daughter, Victoria, excelled in her music exams. On Thursday August 14th, 1862, 18 months after he had first proposed to her and she refused, Sarah and James Labulo Davies were married in St Nicholas Church, Brighton. Mr. Davies was a Yoruba missionary and businessman who was working and living in England at the time. The Queen had introduced the two to each other about two years earlier in England. Captain Forbes, brother of Commander Forbes who had rescued Sarah, gave her away on her wedding day. The wedding was a grand affair and was well-attended. There were ten carriages and sixteen bridesmaids, both African and British ladies; and groomsmen in likewise manner.

It was later decided that Sarah was to teach at the school where she had once been a pupil so she returned to Freetown as a teacher. Sarah and her husband Labulo had three children together: Victoria, Arthur, and Stella who were all educated in England and Europe.Q Victoria who was named after the Queen continued to visit her Royal godmother throughout her life and was given an annuity as financial allowance. Victoria Davies was one of Queen Victoria’s last visitors until the Queen’s demise in 1901. Sarah finally moved to Lagos (in today's Nigeria) where she worked as a teacher and helped the missionaries. She was a close companion of Bishop Ajayi Crowther in Lagos.

Unknown to many, Sarah had never forgotten the name given to her by her biological parents, she later added “Aina” as her official first name. Mrs. Aina Sarah Forbes Bonetta Davies died in August, 1880, in Madeira, an Island off the coast of Portugal where she had gone to seek treatment for tuberculosis. She was buried in Funchal, Madeira. She was about 37 years old.

If Ooni of Ife turns up in benin and Claims the Throne and Kingdom of benin he too is also right

Ok, Let us look at the praise names of oba of benin

One of it is
Abieyuwa N'Ovbi Odua N'uhe
The son of the wealthy Odua of Uhe(Ife).
(Odua of Ife is the same as oduduwa of Ife)

Another of oba of benin's praise names is

Ovbi' Adimila
The son of Adimila
oduduwa was also known as Olofin Adimula
Which was his Title

Notice there is no mention at all of any Ekhalerderhan of Igodomigodo or izoduwa a whole Crown Prince of Benin that got lost and the renowned Accomplished Benin Palace Praise singers are not at all interested in his case
It can only be a lie

They did not mention and neither are they looking for the lost Ekhalerderhan .

izoduwa too is not happening anywhere in oba of benin's praise names but they called Oduduwa , the great Odua of Ife his Father

So with their own mouths they themselves have already given the evidence that fully demolished and destroyed their case which had no legs to stand on in the first place and have confirmed with your own Mouth that the oba of benin was indeed oduduwa's Son
There is nothing left to drag because it is settled

Hetty Green...The most stingy woman in history, her wealth is estimated at more than $2.3 billion. Hetty Greene was born in America in 1835. She was the only daughter of a wealthy businessman.

She inherited from her father a fortune estimated at $7.5 million. When she was twenty-one years old, she moved to live in New York to invest her money in Wall Street and was called the Wicked Witch of Wall Street.

She married a millionaire like herself, but still lived on leftover cakes and broken biscuits in grocery stores and argued to get a free bone for her dog every day!! Hetty Greene was a very miserable woman. She sewed underpants when she was 16 years old and did not change them or buy others until the day of her death.

She never spent a penny, so it was said that she never used hot water, that she wore a black dress that she did not change until it was completely worn out, and that she lived on eating a pie that cost only two cents.

Hetty caused her son to amputate his leg because when he broke it, she delayed treating it because she insisted not to She spent no money and kept looking for free medical attention.

Hetty Greene died in 1916 at the age of 81 in New York City, and was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “most stingy person in the world.”

The cause of her death was a stroke due to a quarrel with her maid because the maid asked for an increase in her meager salary.

She died and left behind a huge fortune, and her children did not inherit her extreme stinginess, but rather they were generous to the point that her daughter built a free hospital with her money!! ☕️

zimoni:
I saw this on Grandson Soyemi's fb wall and decided to share.

Let me set the record straight...in this age of information, ignorance is a choice.

I have watched the show of vacuity as it is been displayed by some of the online gurus (mediocre) in the recent time about the Abobaku saga. It is ignoramus to jump into the pool you have not delved before. Let me set the record straight...

Abobaku is a traditional practice in the ancient Yoruba Empire. Abobaku system is peculiar to the Ancient Oyo-Yoruba Empire. It is not heinous as some people take it to be, rather it is a matter of choice, people compete to occupy the position of Abobaku just as other positions because while the king is alive, the Abobaku enjoys de facto power and he shares in the glory of His Royal Highness.

In the Ancient Oyo-Yoruba Empire, it was constitutional for Aremo to be Abobaku, he is to be buried with his father. After the Owu War in 1827, there came the creation of Ibadan and Ijaye in 1829 and 1830 respectively.

Ogunmola headed Ibadan as Kurunmi who later became Are Ona Kakanfo became the leader of Ijaye. Alaafin Atiba succeeded Alaafin Oluewu in 1837, but at the demise of Alaafin Atiba in 1859, Adelu who was Aremo and supposed to be Abobaku (someone that dies with king) refused to die with the king and wanted to succeed his father. And because of the benefits Ibadan enjoyed under Alaafin Atiba, they wanted continuity by supporting Aremo Adelu to become Alaafin against the tradition.

On the contrary, Ijaye did not want the continuity and wanted to protect the culture of the kingship, there started a war of superiority between Ibadan's combatants and Ijaye's warriors in which Ibadan came out victorious and Aremo Adelu became Alaafin Adelu in 1859. This was how the doctrine of Abobaku ended in Oyo-Yoruba Empire.

Ife has never practiced the tradition of Abobaku before and no one can point to anywhere in Yorubaland today where the tradition is under vogue.

Abobaku is a system in the past and it has gone with the past. It is vicious and malicious to peddle what you know nothing about to score a mere rhetoric point. We are proud of our ancestral past!

Eledumare bless Oduduwa Republic.

-Ogunwoye Gbemiga Samson is one of the several Yoruba Youths I have liberated their minds through Facebook.

“There is no truth about Abobaku eloping over late Oni’s Death”- Hon Rotimi Makinde

Quite a number of no-truths and distortion has been written regarding the eloping of an entity called ‘Abobaku’. In Ile-Ife, the person so referred to is called ‘Saarun’, head of the ‘Emeses’ who are stewards to a reigning Ooni.

The Saarun is the head and closest aid who must go everywhere the Ooni goes. It follows in the days of hold that upon the demise of an Ooni, his most trusted aid and steward will be interred with him to continue his life of service to his master and as well show his loyalty.

I personally know the Saarun that served late Oba Adesoji Aderemi (late Yaya Arasanmi) While Oba Aderemi passed away in 1980, his late Saarun passed on in 1987, 7 clear years afterwards. The current Saarun will not be buried with late Oba Sijuade as the practice has since been stopped in Ile-Ife. I am a proud son of Ile-Ife and I am well grounded in the traditions and cultures of my people. It will not happen.

Good Morning,

I am sorry to say this as you appear to be aknowledgeable person that I could have learnt a lot from.

The fact that you are referencing a certified ohionba's videos, and I have no intentions of mentioning his name, has put me off watching any of the videos you posted.

Absolutely no way can and should that person be referenced as a source of information. This is my own personal opinion sha.

Please if you are the said person in the video, desist from this path you are treading.
I assume you are originally of Bini-Edo descent based on your reactions here.

First off, I certainly am NOT the person in the video or even any of his guests that have appeared in his YT interviews. The Germany-based Benin dude who owns that Igodomigo Family YT channel has over 16,000 subscribers from all over the world!

I always like to separate the message from the messenger. In that first video of over 1 hour that was done over 3 years ago, he did use verbally abusive language against the Oba of Benin and his chiefs because he was being victimized and he to flee for Germany. However, I personally felt the verbal insults were annoyingly excessive and it put me off a bit because he didn't go straight to the point sometimes and would interject with insults towards the Oba as a result of his exasperation back then. However, in more recent videos of his (Murphy Egharevba) that were done in 2023 leading right up to 2024, his tendency to lash out angrily at the Oba and his palace chiefs had stopped. It was a distraction when he used to insult and speak angrily at the Oba of Benin for engaging in perceived INJUSTICE to him and others. He even clearly stated that the Oba had reached out to him on phone and appealed to him for a financial settlement running into millions of Naira which he said he bluntly rejected.

In any event, that first video interview had the guest who is originally of Usen origin who gave a breakdown of the historical relationship between Usen, Benin, and Ile Ife with massive evidence showing that Oranmiyan's older brother founded Usen. I will go with that angle of history. Also, they greet one another by saying DELAUHE because their ancestors came from Ife (Ufe or Uhe). All the chieftaincy titles used in Usen and Benin and all the deities of Ogun, Osun, Olokun were borrowed originally from Ife according to the gentleman from Usen. He even mentioned the full Yoruba meanings of those chieftaincy titles.

Several other advanced sources and interviews that I have in my archives going back to several decades of information (aside from these videos here) also point to massive alignments with the Usen and Ife account of historical events and ancestral ties.

In any event, since the very early 1980s, I have been reading more of Nigerian history from books and the historical archives, and when the Benin-Ile Ife ancestral quagmire erupted in 2004, the media was abuzz with the Benin and original Ife accounts of Oduduwa's presence in Ife which both contradicted one another. So, it should NOT come to you or anyone as a surprise that the global interest in KNOWING more about the true history and relationship between Ile Ife and Benin spiked up! Folks who have an interest in accurate or near-accurate world history all over the world have been concerned about getting the truth. People have that prerogative to ASK questions with an open mind while expecting CLEAR and valid answers NOT falsehoods, deflection of questions, and platitudes. Anything less than the best is a felony.

There's a popular maxim, "if you want answers, ASK questions."

I like the FACT that our convo here has been based on intellectual exchange and not rabid exchange of insults like some uninformed youngsters here like to engage in because they lack the intelligence and intellectual ability to engage in real-time conversations.

Enjoy your day.

Russian sub test fired a missile off the coast of Florida a few hours ago. This is what the US mainstream media is reporting so take that with a cake of salt.

It's now official that Saudi Arabia has finally ditched the dollar and will trade their oil outside the USD. This marks the end of the Petrodollar.

The war in Ukraine was to weaken Russia and from there invade and from there seize control of all her resources to make up for the dying USD and halt BRICs. The invasion failed woefully . Now Russia has a fleet of warships and nuclear sub just right next door to the US.

The powers that be in the west will not go down with their USD. They know very much that an end to USD as a global reserve currency is the nail to their Ponzi scheme liquidity based economy and from there their power grip on the US. What are they going to bribe their soldiers and goons with when the dollar becomes worthless ? They know that if it all comes crashing down , the people in the US will rise up and take their new found poverty induced frustration on them. Think French Revolution 10.0! For this reason they are going to accelerate things with a false flag nuclear attack on US soil and blame it on Russia. All those underground luxury bunkers in New Zealand were built for this very moment. By tomorrow, you are going to see a lot of air traffic involving private jets heading to New Zealand and remote islands in the south Pacific . Old sleaze bag Nathaniel Rothschild has already settled into bunker life. He never died.

The false flag nuke strike will be limited to the US eastern seaboard. I foresee New Orleans , Alabama and Atlanta getting nuked. These are shitty nigger infested shitholes worth sacrificing .

The US will then launch an all out nuclear strike on Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and Syria. Russia and China will retalaitate immediately. Western Europe, the UK, Israel and the US will be hit.

All these will happen by Tuesday 18th of June 2024.

It's very unfortunate to see the level of financial illiteracy on this thread by the pro Petrodollar slaves of Judas.

First of, paper or digital currency, in whatever form or by whom issues it , is a debt instrument. It has no intrinsic value beyond what it is expected to redeem.

The USD is not even a currency by any measure as it has neither an intrinsic value like gold nor does it have a redeemable backing.

It is pure fiat!

Issued on the basis that everyone will accept it by force.

The USD is the greatest Ponzi scam ever pulled as it relies on everyone accepting to trade with it (by force), thus making New York and London unwanted middlemen in global trade.

Ask yourselves this pertinent question: what does the US and it's Siamese twin the UK contribute to global trade that they will dictate to the rest of the world on the means of exchange and debt?

Absolutely nothing when compared to resource rich nations like Russia , the Congo and nations that produce finished goods like Germany , Korea and China.

I can go on but it will be pointless until most posters here get at least the basic rudimental understanding that paper or digital currency has no intrinsic value beyond what it's agreed upon redeemable value in real goods and physical products are.
Nicely put.

The USD is NOT worth more than toilet paper in the real sense... Just printed paper money. The hyperinflation makes it a double whammy for the USD which has experienced the erosion of value or what it can buy over the decades.

Gbtyo made a thread about this on June 9th and it never made FP.

In that thread I was castigated by the now slavish western slaves.

There won't be a global recession . It's only those nations still stupid to hold their reserves in USD that are about to get the short end.

With 34 Trillion in debt and several trillions in USD floating around, all that now worthless fiat currency is heading back to the US.

Weimar levels of hyperinflation are set to hit the US.

The scariest bit here is what the US and London in particular will do on the global stage now that their middleman position has been dislodged.

I foresee the US and British navy returning to their inglorious roots as privateers sailing the high seas to disrupt economic trade . Coups in the global south ochestrated by Washington and London to keep third world within their sphere.

A multipolar world is about to emerge and with it, global proxy wars and another scramble for Africa.

The judeo-Anglo-Masonic order will not go down without taking the rest of the world with it.

I foresee a tactical nuke attack on the US eastern seaboard which will be blamed on the Russian fleet in the Caribbean. This will be a false flag by the deep state which they will use to justify an all out nuclear strike on Russia and China.

Predictions say the above could happen by 18th of June - next week Tuesday.

Biden cut his G7 trip back to Washington after all efforts to get the Saudis to reconsider ditching the dollar failed. Insider sources in the WH say articles of war declaration against Russia have been drafted for Dementia Joe to sign and that it will be sent to the US Congress today or by Monday.

The sand filling of lekki saw to the erosion of the bar beach in VI.
.
Now that bar beach has been reclaimed by Eko Atlantic , the sea waves are now moving back to the lekki peninsula and eroding the coastlines there.

As per water, you can't drill a borehole in lekki because it's an extension of both the Atlantic shelf and the Lagos salt water lagoon.

Drilling boreholes in lekki is tantamount to boring through a salt bed under the ocean.

Secondly , lekki being below sea level also means there is no way to handle waste through conventional soak-aways. That means all those boreholes are actually piping fecal matter from congested urbanized dwellings.
I spent a night with a friend who stays on lekki and he told me not to use the shower and provided me with water he had bought from tanker vendors in another tank outside the apartment. The water from the borehole was blackish and obviously a combo of sea and soak away water that was only used for flushing, mopping and washing cars. We got home back one night pissed drunk and I forgot about the water problem and showered away. Let's just say I developed the worst skin infection after that and a bout of cholera from brushing with it.

Lekki was never meant to be developed and ssettled. When we were young back then, we use to do street racing from VI to ijebu lekki and by God it was so beautiful compared to the cramped lekki of today.

Moral of my rants: don't get drunk iome folks buy wTen lekki and take a shower afterwards.
@The bolded.

People have been drilling boreholes in Lekki Phase 1 but it has to be several meters deep before you hit cleaner water, and it's very expensive but those who can afford it go for it. The shorter the distance of the borehole the easier it is to come in contact with brownish and salty water supply.

So, some folks buy cleaner water from water tankers for storage in their water tanks.

Gistmedia10:
A resident of Lekki, Lagos Island, has taken to social media to share his struggles with water scarcity in the upscale neighborhood. In a video that has quickly gone viral, the man shows about 1000 bags of water he claims to use daily for bathing.

Standing beside a massive pile of sachet water bags, commonly known as "pure water" in Nigeria, the man explains his predicament: "This is my daily routine.

Lekki, despite its reputation for luxury and high property values, suffers from significant infrastructure issues, with water scarcity being a major concern. Many residents, like the man in the video, are forced to purchase sachet water due to unreliable municipal supply.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzF6pnC8_Iw
First off, Lekki Phase 1 is NOT located on an Island but on a Peninsula called Lekki Peninsula. Victoria Island, Ikoyi Island, Lagos Island, Ilashe Island are all islands located in Lagos State. Lekki Peninsula is NOT completely surrounded by water so it's NOT an island.

Second, expensive deep water drilling to several meters is needed to hit cleaner fresh water supply that is not brownish and salty in Lekki Phase 1. Further up to Ajah, you have clean water there.

So, it's WRONG for the dude with tats to say that nobody should come to Lekki since the real Lekki Town is in Ibeju-Lekki LGA. He should emphasized on Lekki Phase 1 as his subject matter.

Why I resigned as Super Eagles head coach – Finidi George opens up wink

Finidi George has explained why he decided to step down as the head coach of the Super Eagles.

The 53-year-old turned in his resignation to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Saturday.

This comes days after the NFF issued a statement revealing they are planning to bring in a foreign technical adviser to work alongside Finidi.

In a video posted on social media hours later, a former media officer of the Eagles, Colin Udoh, confirmed he had spoken to Finidi after his decision.

“Finidi confirmed to me that he resigned his position indeed,” Udoh said.

“The reason being that he met with the NFF on Thursday and they had a very good conversation.

“They spoke about the things they need to do going forward and he (Finidi) asked if he will be back.

“At no point during that meeting did anyone tell him they were going to appoint a foreign technical adviser.

“The NFF board had met on Wednesday and made that decision. But it was when Findi landed in Port Harcourt after that meeting that someone called him and informed him. He (Finidi) had to park his car and read the link to see that it actually was true.

“So he waited for two days to see if anyone would contact him but nobody spoke to him. So he (Finidi) felt they didn’t want him anymore and so he decided to turn in his resignation.

My OG, Finidi George... The legendary midfielder. He was always a delight to watch in the field of play back in the day alongside the deadly squad of Sunday Oliseh, Rasheed Yekini, Daniel Amokachi, JJ Okocha, etc.

Good post, like you said, other stuff can be expanded on later.

I was focused on the "fleeing" part of things is why I brought up Izoduwa. At no point did I contradict or challenge anything you typed (and have no intentions to).
I appreciate your feedback. I've also posted the video interview links like I promised.

All the best.

@Aswani, greetings to you again. I promised you on the sports thread that hit the FP to share the link of the over 1 hour explosive video interview with the indigene of Usen who emphasized on the direct ancestral links between Usen and Benin to Ile Ife. It's the FIRST video in my post here. Just watch it to the end because the interview doesn't begin immediately but gradually gains momentum. I also have two other shorter explosive video links below the FIRST video from the Igodomigo Family YouTube channel here.

Enjoy the videos, and share with as many folks as possible and also download them directly on your laptop or any mobile device just in case the videos are pulled off YouTube.

The videos shed more light on why the Oba of Benin and his father had falsely claimed to Benin to be the origin of Oduduwa instead of Ife. Usen's role in the coronation of any Oba of Benin was clearly stated by the brilliant and well-spoken guest of Usen origin and the Benin gentleman in the videos.

Cheers.

Lanoye77:
Househelp runs into toilet with knife after being caught stealing from a family in Lagos (videos)
A househelp met her waterloo after stealing from a Lagos family that employed her two weeks ago.

Her boss who confronted the househelp as seen in videos she shared, identified her as Esther USEN Achiebong from Cross River State.

Tracynither Nicolas Ohiri revealed that Esther had only worked for her for 13 days before stealing her children's piggy bank which had N64,000, clothes and household items. Upon being confronted after the security guard confessed to knowing about the theft, the househelp reportedly ran into the guest toilet with a knife.

This is Esther USEN Achiebong from Cross Rivers State. She has worked with me for only 13 days. For these 13 days she worked for me, she stole my children's money worth N64,000 (she broke their saving box and sealed it back) cloths and Household items. Her elder sister who works with Garment Care comes to the gate to pick the items up from her every evening. She pretends she is going to buy recharge card carrying those items in a Dustbin nylon. Besides her Salary is N50k.

Fellow Campers I searched Esther's wallet and found some phone numbers. I just spoke with one Mrs Uzo Ayonnuke & to my shock the woman said Esther Stole so much from her & they have been looking for her since December

After the last lady she worked for spoke to her through my phone, Esther stood up, ran into my kitchen, grabbed a Knife and ran into my guest toilet & locked herself. We have called the police, they are on their way.

She further revealed that she and the househelp's former boss whose jewelries was also stolen, have reported the incident to the police and are waiting for a court trial.

Ohiri wrote in a rejoinder post;

WE WANT THE MATTER CHARGED TO COURT.....!!!

This was us this morning at the police station. Esther Usen (Achibong) worked for and stole from us. From her confession so far it is deeper that what we thought it was. It is not about the money or the things she stole, we want to get to the root of this Matter so as to save other families from falling prey to Esther Usen and her gang.

For those saying that Esther is old at 25 years to be a Househelp, I don't work with under aged girls. If you are not 25 years and above, I have no business with you as a Househelp. Thanks

Bump.

Phew! That was a hair-raising scene in the video. This is a firm REMINDER from four years ago that detailed background checks and registration of staff with the police are very important before getting any domestic staff to work for you from recruitment agencies. This girl could have killed all the family members of her employer with food poison or a knife after surreptitiously stealing their cloths and monies.

Better yet, do NOT employ domestic staff at all. Period.
RomanceRe: Angry Boyfriend Snatches Iphone 15 And Wig After Girlfriend Rejects His Proposal by Konquest: 1:11am On Jun 16, 2024
Gistmedia10:
A young woman was left heartbroken and humiliated after her boyfriend forcefully took back an iPhone 15 and wig he had gifted her. The couple, who had been out on a romantic outing, became the center of attention for a shocking reason.

The boyfriend suddenly kneeled down and proposed to his girlfriend, catching her completely off guard. The unexpected proposal quickly drew a crowd of onlookers who began cheering and urging her to say yes. However, to the surprise of everyone present, the young woman declined the proposal and walked away, visibly surprised.

The rejection did not sit well with the boyfriend, who, in a fit of anger, rushed after her and snatched the wig and iPhone 15 he had previously gifted her.

Is an iPhone and a wig now a prerequisite for marriage? cry

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCRo1XDG8tY
This looks like a skit to me... Very surreal. If it really happened as shown in that mall, then it's quite embarrassing. Why put her under pressure with some creeps around her shouting "say yes" to nudge her to accept the crappy martiage proposal?

If she's NOT into you yet OR emotionally ready for that kind of long-term commitment, why force her into a superficial commitment by taking off her wig and retrieving a so-called phone? That's a loaf of B.S.

@SmartyPants,

Indeed, and that's why I didn't reply him when I saw his ridiculous feedback which was bereft of historical intellectualism. Once I fully set the records straight for anyone at the first instance and s/he DOESN'T get it, that person can go kick rocks. The FACTS will always transcend any falsehoods.

I believe it was Izoduwa that had to flee from Benin and ended up ruling in Ilé Ife.

Oranmiyan left of his own volition after leaving Eweka behind to rule. He didn't really run per se, he'd had enough of the locals and decided to leave their wàhálà behind.
The dude I quoted clearly and incorrectly posted on Page 1 that "Oduduwa ran away from Bendel State (sic) to Isale Eko." That's why I had to step in to correct him.

Besides Oranmiyan who was Oduduwa's grandson had to leave on his own volition like you rightly stated due to some difficulties he encountered as a ruler and it was he that supposedly gave the name "Ule Ibinu" to the land which the Europeans corrupted to Benin.

The first paragraph of your post regarding an Izoduwa or is it an Ekaladehan coming to Ufe (Ife) will be left for fuller discussions next time. In Ife history though, Oduduwa came from his ancestral land of Oke-Ora which is just 8 miles from Ife. This is why whenever an Ooni of Ife is to be crowned, as part of the ceremonial rites, he has to go to Oke-Ora from where Oduduwa originally came from. Also the people of Usen in Ovia South West of Edo State who are very close to Benin and speak their dialect of Yoruba and Bini languages uphold the Oduduwa story because Usen was founded by Oranmiyan's older brother who came there with Oranmiyan and their entourage from Ile Ife. It was from Usen that Oranmiyan proceeded to what is now Benin. I have a video interview where a notable Usen indigene revealed all these facts and debunked the fleeing story of "Izoduwa" or "Ekaladehan" to what is now Ile Ife. He even stated that Usen plays a strong traditional and religious role during the coronation of every new Oba of Benin and that ALL the traditional chieftaincy titles you find in Usen and Benin including the deities such as Ogun, Olokun, Osun, etc, are derived from Ile Ife. I can give you the link of the video interview on another thread later on and tag you.

Cheers.

Omo, you are old in this forum 😳 16 years!!
I just logged in again and saw your mention.

In reality it's actually 19 years now since 2005. I was looking for a list of Nigerian discussion forums via a search engine when I discovered the newly created Nairaland in 2005 and joined with an older NL account before creating this current one in 2008. It's a very useful platform if you know how to use it for data mining and networking. The only major negatives here is the level of covert hate speech, criminal defamation of character, and short attention span of some younger posters and incels on some threads here who do NOT read to understand. It wasn't like this back in the 2000s when we had a lot of Diasporans regularly posting here.

Conversely, there are many intelligent folks and professionals who use NL and that is a major reason why I've remained as a registered member of this Website.
